The presentation and the quality of food is all are high above and the taste bid off food is upper class all the staaf and worker are well mannered and the decore of the walls is heart melting ..
Very fast service
Taste is amazing
Ambience is sophisticated yet a little old.
Perfect family place for south indian food. A little heavy on pockets in comparison to other South Indian outlets
Thali was a good option for 2
We gone to this place few month back . We ordered rava Mysore masala dosa with Rasam with Aplam. We loved the food.
Sagaar ratnaaa's south indian fooooddd is justtttt delicioussss, even their raj kachorii yummmm i really miss themm, their hyginc their ambience, their poliete behaviour everything is just worthwhile you can even go with your friends or family no need to worrry about anythingg🥰🥰
This place offers good food every time
I visit.
Same taste.. every time.
Crisp dosas, soft fresh idlis and sweet dahi vadas....
Every thing s a great.
Not much main course options, only thali other options only dosa, idli and uttapam, food is good, badaam halwa is not having any badaam taste, service just okay, parking is available not easy though.items to try Mysore masala dosa and Chettinad dosa with coconut flavour.
This outlet of Sagar ratna is located inside the Ashok and I believe its a very old outlet. The interior is old and classic, the furniture was a bit nostalgic. However coming to the food, I just loved it. My personal favourite here is the Paper plain dosa and idli sambhar combo. The idli is super soft and on the hand the dosa is crispy just as it should be.
So Sagar ratna is one of best for vegetarians , quality food with soothing ambience ... Few days back i visited this outlet , I had tried from many of their outlets .... So ordered their dosa which I like the most and veg thalli .... Staff is also too polite
Best place to have south indian
Sagar Ratna is my all time favorite place. I remember going first time for lunch. I had DOSA and idli..it was really good. The sambar tasted authentic as once I had in kerala. The chutney/sauce were of three types and tasted even better
After an event in the hotel we were very hungry and spotted Sagar Ratna and we literally ran inside and couldn't be more amazed by the beautiful decor and interior, we ordered 1Mysore rawa Masala Dosa
1 Mysore masala dosa
1 Rawa masala dosa
1 lime soda
1 peach mojito
Everything was delicious
The was so courteous
The ambience is seriously Lit 😍
P.s Mysore Rawa masala dosa is my new favorite now😍❤️
Totally recommended
The place has an awesome variety of South Indian Food that too in proper taste.
I had Onion Plain Dosa which was a wonder for any one to have something lite and healthy that too with different chutnies.

This place is perfect for a quick meal when you’re attending exhibitions at The Ashok. After being exhausted from all the roaming around at one of the exhibitions held there, we decided to head to Sagar (on the ground floor). There was a bit of waiting since most of the people attending the exhibition were in line. Finally we were seated. We had idli, rava masala dosa and vada. All the dishes were good. Idli was soft! We also had Kancheepuram idli, which while it tasted good, it was not as soft. Their sambhar and chutney is also tasty! Overall, a good meal after a tiring day.
who doesnt love the sagar ratna. the ultimate south indian plae i love th food here and its totall delicious i take time to write here down thegreat experience food was totally amazing and service was great. i totally recomend this place to you guys
All time favourite of my entire family for South indian food. Food tastes delicious and served always fresh. Have been here a lot of times and tried a lot of dishes here, but they never go wrong. The onion rava masala dosa and dahi Vada remain my must try here.
If you like south indian food..you can definitely visit any sagar ratna without givina a second thought.. their dosas are just amazing and the chutneys they serve are fingerlicking good.
The best place to have South Indian food, Period. Ambience and service is really good, a bit slow but as they say "Good things take time". Also, dahi vada is a must have.
Ordered Some Crispy Dosas with Rava Idli , Vada and Uttapam , The Main course of South Indian....The Ambience was salient and striking ....
Moreover the atmosphere was nice and fresh , i felt like i was really in South India
The one thing i did't liked was their Slow service ...No waiter was attending us when we were in need ....after a long time one waiter took our further order and we ordered some shakes coffee and relish ourselves .....
They just need to work on their Service ...Rest all Is Good :)
Thank You 👍
My family's one of favorite place to have south indian food,
Food was really delicious and authentic, hygiene was being followed properly, service was quick and polite.
I would rate as 4/5 as bit expensive.
Tried its ghee roast dosa which was up to the mark👌 and must try its Dahibada everytime. have never had This kind of Dahibada anywhere then sagar ratna.
Craving south indian go to this place without doubt. Staff will treat you with such politeness, you will feel so welcomed.
Taste of the food is also amazing,we ordered dhai vada, paper plain dosa and rava mysore masala dosa.
The taste was amazing paper plain dosa was so thin and crispy. A special mention to sambar all the flavor were so nice that i actually end up having one bowl of sambar after my meal.
This place is my family’s favourite to have South Indian food. We have been here couple of times due to the food quality, taste and the mannered staff. I ordered for m6 favourite Upma as here, it is made in less oil and is completely sumptuous. We also ordered paper masala dosa which was tasty, however I think the size of that dosa should be reduced as we ordered for 2 people separately and both could not finish it :p we also called for a paneer dosa, again which was delicious. The appam and tomato Uthapam were great. For drinks I ordered fresh lime soda made very well balanced with salt and sugar and then filter coffee that is my other favourite here. Overall, I would rate it as;
Food- 4.5/5
Cleanliness- 4/5
Staff-4.5/5
Music-3/5
Food was nice.
Ambience was very good.
Hygiene was being followed.
But service was little slow.
Taste was amazing as south Indian food is always good.
Staff was friendly.
Well well well... we all are aware of Sagar Ratna and how it’s been our favourite place for South Indian food, but friends Sagar Ratna at Ashok hotel is totally different in taste and pricing... food is far far better from other outlets and similarly price as well... they have targeted the premium clients by offering more quality food on higher prices must visit
I go many other south Indian outlate place but as compared to other tha Sagar ratna is best.
The food is too good.
Those people love south Indian dish they are come hear and eat or enjoy.
Food was good and delicious. But after paying for dinner we were told that service charges were not included. And the waiter was waiting for us, we said “it’s okay then you can have the rest of money”. He left the money putting it on the table. That was very rude such that he meant the tip was not enough and he requested more money than the rest of money... even more disturbing...the waiter who said this came to the table only for that reason, not the other waiters who served us.
A wonderful option for having South Indian food with amazing ambience. The food & service never disappoints. Have been coming here since long on very occasions for a good & peaceful meal.
Whenever I wish to have lunch or dinner with family or friends in peace I head to this place.
Some of my all time favourites from here are Mysore Masala Dosa, Dahi Vada ( introduced to me by a very dear friend ) & Badam Halwa.
A must try is also the filter coffee.
A great place with very quite & peaceful ambience perfect for the times when you wish to have a good chat along with food.
Sagar Ratna is my all time favourite when it comes to South Indian..food quality is always good.
best south indian food.
You will get chinese and indian food also .
Amazing food quality
Service is also good.
Family restaurant , staff were polite .
Located in the iconic Ashok, this is a great restaurant for South Indian food. Love the Dosas..
Tried the Paroontha, not sure if i liked it... Overall though, if you are in the mood for a family outing, this is a good place to go to...
One of the better Sagar Ratna. Ample seating. The service and quality of preparation is also good. Though a little more expensive as compared to other SagarRatnas but can’t blame them as is housed in a better location.
Like I always say “ Dosa & Samosa, nothing official about it...!”
Wonderful Dosa... though cost is bit on higher side, but worth it... Taste and service, is worth visiting this Sagar Ratna...
They serve with 4 Chutnis, which really elevates the experience...
Many more visits for sure ...!!
Yesterday evening went to this place..
It is in the heart of New Delhi lbz.
I had a masala dosa. Service was excellent. Staff was courteous and quick. Cleanliness was good. Portions are large. Coconut chutney and Sambhar were true south Indian. Masala dosa proper was very good and only problem I found was with the amount of salt that went into it. It was on much higher side and I wondered how could such a class restaurant's clients never complained.
Overall must visit the place if you are in chanakya puri and are game for South Indian veg food.
Sunil patel.
Nice place with great sitting and courteous staff if you really have craving for South Indian then this is one of the best place to have some. Filter coffee, tea and dosas are the best. Won’t suggest shakes, they are the worst I have ever had.
Though they need to work a little on cleanliness inside the place being situated in one of the good hotel.
One of the best Sagar Ratna outlet and since it's in hotel it's double the price. We ordered Cold Coffee which was delicious, Idli, Vada, Masala Dosa were all great. The Chutney are better than rest outlets. Ambience is good and staff too is friendly.
This is the best sagar ratna outlet. I crave for there South Indian Food. Good location and good food. Staff very courteous. Masala dosa a must have.
A place we have always loved to dine at, mostly after conventions and exhibitions.. those were the days.
But I'm amazed to see the quality improvements every time I visit.
This is there best outlet I am sure
Must have masala dosa, dahi vada and rasam.
These are my favorites and the service they provide are always delivering smiles
Good work ppl
Went there to have lunch between meetings. Place is full of aroma and increases your appetite the moment you step in. The menu is full of varieties of Dosas and Uttapam. Kind of makes it difficult to pick the right one for your self.
Very clean place and servings/hospitality is quick. A bit on the steeper side compared to other south indian restaurants
Best South Indian food in Delhi. Choose Sagar Ratna for best South Indian food. Loved their masks idlis and masala dosa.
Service - 5*
Food- 5*
Visited with my family. Had a great time, experienced no issues.
The ambience is very warm and welcoming. The entire restaurant is furnished with dark wood.
The food was delicious. Had order a sagar special thali, paneer dosa, masala dosa, vegetable cheese dosa and special bengaluru badam milk.
The cheese dosa was an interesting dish on the menu, and it definitely lived up to my expectations.
The staff was also quite warm and friendly and took good care of us.
Looking forward to visiting again.
I would recommend everyone to visit for a great experience.
Dosa is obviously tasty here but Be careful in selecting dosas as some dosas like garlic dosa is on a bitter side and one May not find it as tasty as masala dosas.
I like stuffed naan here which is ultra soft and tasty. Tried gobhi masala also which is good....
The amazing dosa place where you can have typical south indian food.
Staff is very helping and the food is very tasty.
Specially sambhar is best that no one can beat...
Highly recommended if you’re up for piping hot authentic south indian meal. Excellent breakfast place. Perhaps any time is good time for their dishes. Good quantity of servings. I recommend the place to even those who might not be very fond of South Indian meals otherwise, this sure is a place to be to fall in love with this cuisine.
Sagar Ratna is my go to place when I am in solid craving for some authentic South Indian cuisine. I have tried many branches of Sagar Ratna before but this one was on my bookmarks for quite some time now.
Since, it is located inside a 5 star (The Ashok) the prices of the dishes are double the amount in comparison to other regular branches.
The Ambiance is very basis nothing fancy which was disappointing to me.
The quality of food is great though.
Service is prompt!!
Coming to the food..
1. Veg Cheese Dosa
This one something new on the menu and it really triggered me to order it. It is a paper dosa with loads of liquid cheese spread and veggies like capsicum, onion and tomatoes. It tasted really nice guys! Do try it if you are bored having masala dosa all the time.
2. Onion and Tomato Uttapam
It is a regular uttapam with good amount of topping. It was crispy and made nicely. Tasted pretty good as always.
3. Super Thali
This one is a proper north indian thali which is really huge. It had soo many bowls filled with variety of options. It is more than enough for 2 people. Although I feel the taste could be enhanced a little. But nevertheless it was satisfying!
A good and decent experience for me!
The place is spacious and well lit with a nice ambience. A large group of people can comfortably sit together and converse. The food is tasty though only South Indian options are available in the menu. The service is quick and efficient. It is expensive as compared to other South Indian restaurants that offer the same quality food, even better tasting, but that must be due to the fact that it is part of the hotel. One may visit at any time of the day and all varieties are available with no compromise on the service.
It's located at the Ashok Chanakyapuri. The food is good . Though it can be little expensive on your pocket. Parking in easy to get and its free.
Its a surprise.. ahoy hotel having a sagar Ratna which gives incredible food.. The Dahi Bada were succulent - just right.. Rasam- to die for with papad followed.. and then came the lovely Butter Masala dosas and idles.. We also ordered Family Dosa, difficult to eat but good fun as it came nice and crisp.. and sits on the whole table - a spectacle. sambhar taste is authentic but can do some drum sticks.. everything came hot.. and then came the 2 Halva- a dessert so rich that even 4 can't finish one ... Filter coffee to round up the meal..
Amazingly authentic- you could be anywhere in south India and get the same. authentic spices and best everything comes nice and hot to the table.
Really good.. The food was worth cherishing.. The thali over here was really good.. It is value for money.. The ghee roast dosa was also really nice..
The best Sagar ratna for sure. Probably the oldest one too!
The dahi vada is an absolute must have. It's quite heavy too! I'm a fan of the onion rava and the Mysore masala dosa as well. It's the go to place for South Indian with me and has been for a lot of time - says quite a bit!
Located at the back of the Ashok hotel, this outlet of Sagar Ratna is not like others. This place is pure class. The prices here are exorbitantly high compared to regular outlets but it’s still crowded anyways. The food is really good like the Dahi Bhalla, The Masala Dosa, The Upma and Idlis.Sambhar is also really tasty and it’s one place that’s a must visit.
Though it's a Sagar Ratna, but the price they have its highly over priced but along with the high in price they have a different menu options, that you will not get in any other outlet of Sagar Ratna, i think that's their specialty
One of the best place for south Indian food in Delhi. Wont rate their other outlets same but this one one is just too good. Absolutely authentic ambiemce and feel and so is the food. Authentic and tasty. A littleniver priced but then well its in Hotel Ashoka. Highly recommended.
for a south indian like living away from hometown dis place is perfect with all d southern dishes with a very good quality and hygeinic ambience
A must for family dinners this place is different and better than the other sagar Ratna bit expensive then rest but totally worth it . So next time you plan it’s a must place to be
It is a nice place to have South Indian cuisine. I had ordered chetinnad, rawa masala,Mysore masala, paneer makhni Dosa, mini idlis, dahi wada n rasam.Everything was tasty n superb hospitality.Had authentic filter coffee post meal.Just found it over priced.rest a good place to have South Indian food.
nice place ## ambience is very good## staff is polite and kind## food has been nicely cooked and served## a thing that I like most thar restaurant has lot of parking space
Love it!
This place is my one stop to have good quality dosa with amazing sambhar and not forget to mention it’s tempting sauces. I tried their dahi vada, rava sambhar and mix uttapam.
I loved it all the way. Everything was on point and tasty.
Besides, the chutni’s are my favourite. Also tried their tea which was just great.
South Indian food has also been my fav and generally prefer for authentic eating. The good thing I like about this Restro that they have still maintained the sagar ratna authentic taste, keep doing it and shall keep coming. Thanks
Best South Indian food in town! The taste and the variety of dishes will blow your taste buds! Perfect for family dining. Best branch of Sagar Ratna!
One of the best south Indian in Delhi NCR.. we ordered dosa..rasam.. vada.. everything n taste was beyond expectation.. I recommend once in a week south Indian lovers should visit here to change the taste.. nice work by them..thx
Authentic South Indian food, courteous staff, prompt service.best thing is that prior reservation can be made ...nice ambience..ample parking space.. overall a nice experience!👍👍
Perfect dining experience for South Indian food lovers. Taste quality service all are perfect. Price points if we consider what we are getting is worth. Thank you team sagar ratna for this experience looking forward to more visits in the future.
Food - 4-5/5
Service -4.5/5
Ambience - 4.5/5
Overall experience - 4.5/5
South India food at its best. Tried the Mysore rava masala dosa and it was amazing. The ambience is good. It’s quite and gives a very cool vibe. The service is also good. SPECIAL MENTION for their dahi vada and gunpowder chutney. You really need to try these.
In picture:
Mysore rava masala dosa. 👍🏻👍🏻
Sagar Ratna is a well known brand when it comes to South Indian delicacies. I have had a chance at a few other outlets of this chain earlier too. This outlet too holds the same expectations. Dahi Vada and Rava Masala Dosa is what I liked there.
4 just because i did not want people to think I am a crazy fan of this place :) The ashoka hotel outlet has been the one I have thronged since my childhood days with family on every occasion whether it was family or religious. Have been there for umpteen family dinners and always loved it. Their dosas have set the benchmark for south indian food in delhi and their other south indian delicacies are just upto the mark. Would recommend this outlet just in case you are in the mood for a much more royal or should i say refined dining experience, ambience and courteous staff per se . Other sagar ratna outlets apart from the defence colony ones are just good decent restaurants.
If you are craving for authentic premium South Indian food then Sagar Ratna is the place for you. The fragrance of dosas is mouth watering as soon as you enter. They have a long list of different varieties of idli, dosa and other South Indian dishes. I ordered for the Butter Mysore Onion Rawa masala dosa. It was crispy and delicious. One dosa is very filling and equivalent of a meal. Ambience is nice and the service is also courteous. I would love to visit again to try other dishes as well.
Visited this restaurant and ambiance is good nothing need to say about it as this food joint is part of “The Ashok” food joints.
Food is good, had Idly sambhar and Mysore Rava Dosa. Staff was good too.
This outlet of Sagar Ratna is located at the Ashoka Hotel. This is one of the best South Indian places in town. Although the prices are 3x of a usual Sagar Ratna outlet, but they compensate that with the rich quality and great taste of the food. If you are a south indian enthusiast, you should visit this place. The staff is courteous, the timings are on point. We ordered a starter from the Chettinad Festival special menu, a south indian thali, butter dosa and mysore masala dosa.
Consistent service and amazing food. Been going here since years and always loved the food here. Can never go wrong with a good old Sagar Ratna meal.
It used to be our favourite family restaurant. I dun even remember how many times we have there since so many years. No doubt the place is absolutely family friendly. But as now their chefs have changed, menu hv little change. The taste of food is not like before. I'll suggest them to maintain the previous taste, which was totally delicious.
To start off, this place is gynormous. I feel it can accomodate 200 people so wait times are much lower. They are the best Sagar Ratna in town, both for quality of food as well as service. I am not sure how they manage but food comes so fast, it's like we ordered the chef directly 😁.
The only drawback is pricing which much higher than a regular Sagar. And since they are in a 5*, GST rates are also 3X. I am still a regular here because of the quality, it's definitely a notch above all other outlets. The only suggestion I have is to improve the interior, I really miss the Dasaprakash days of the Claridges which was hands down the best experience I used to have before they shut down.
Ambience of the place is wonderful. It's located in Ashoka Hotel probably the biggest hotel in Delhi. At one corner of the hotel got the South Indian place which is pretty good for lunches the only drawback that I felt was the rate of the dosa is quite high as compared to other outlets of the same name . Service was sluggish. I ordered for rava masala dosa my all time favourite South Indian dish. Dosa was amazing along with signature chutney. Nice lunch place for a quickie . My only concern is if they have the same rates as of other outlets in Delhi NCR .
South Indian food at this outlet of Sagar Ratna is really high in quality and taste.
If I get bored of eating South Indian food at other restaurants, I head to hotel Ashok for the best food.
Without the doubt the best South Indian in the town. Rawa Onion Masala Dosa the best ever. Don’t remember anything compared to this dosa. But this time I felt sambhar quality was bit degraded. Nevertheless still the best place
Everyone’s fav for South Indian, no one goes anywhere else! Best vada in town! Great for family dinner!!
Service :5/5
Food: 4.5/5
Quantity: 5/5
Value for money: 4.5/5
Sagar ratna is one of the favourite place for me for south indian food.
Visited here for dinner with friends and like ambience of this place also.
Must try rava masala dosa.
Amazing as always! However, being situated in the Ashoka Hotel has its pluses and minuses. The food is great as usual and the ambience is great. But disappointed on the price points. If you can, go to the defence colony branch. You’ll get the same food for much less price
Yummy south Indian food I had today from this outlet of sagar ratna . Its taste is best . From all other outlets my most liked outlet is this one . Service is good . Everything is clean . Staff is generous . I had rice idli also forgot to take the photo of that but it was too soft amazing . Overall experience was very nice .
It is best outlet of Sagar Ratna in Delhi. I am a regular visitor. The food is delicious and the service prompt and courteous.
Just need reasons to keep visiting repeatedly, and the taste of the food definitely gives one the reason to go again and again and again.
had an exceptional dining experience at this restaurant! The ambiance was delightful, the staff was attentive and friendly, and the food was simply exquisite. Each dish was crafted with precision and bursted with flavors. I highly recommend trying their signature dish—it was a true culinary delight. The portion sizes were generous, and the presentation of each plate was impeccable. From appetizers to desserts, every course left me wanting more. The attention to detail and the quality of ingredients were evident in every bite. The restaurant's commitment to providing a memorable experience is commendable. I'll definitely be returning and giving it a well-deserved five-star rating!
Had been to Sagar Ratna Restaurant at Ashok Hotel, New Delhi and found South Indian stuff really yummy better than Sagar Ratna elsewhere. Service is fast and ambience is not so great. Masala Dosa @Rs. 430/- & Fresh Lime Soda @Rs.250/- plus GST is too much on the higher side!!! Visit and enjoy!!
From entrance to exit everyone in the staff has smile on their faces and greeted properly. Awesome food experience, from different chutney's, sambhar, dosa to veg briyani and ice cream sundae, everything was delicious and tasty.
The only negative thing I can spot is their outdated interiors and dull ambience that definitely pulls down your good experience. If possible please work on doors, furniture and interiors.
Stayed at The Ashok and enjoyed great food two days in a row.

I have eaten in many hotels but I have not received service like this hotel in any other hotel.
I am really glad to have decided to do Pet Puja at this hotel.
I recommend others to visit this hotel at least once to taste the food.
The quantity of food is more than what you would expect in an upscale place like this. We had kulhad lassi, shared mini idles, and then had trouble finishing our dosa.
Sagar Ratna restaurant delivered an outstanding dinner experience! The diverse menu satisfied various tastes, and my choice, [dish name], was a flavorful delight. The attentive service, coupled with a cozy yet elegant ambiance, created a memorable evening. The chef's attention to detail shone through in every dish, and the was a perfect finale. While on the pricier side, the quality justifies the cost. Highly recommend for a special, enjoyable dinner.
Too over priced being in a 5 Star hotel. Onion Masala Dosa was not good.
We had a really good dinner at Cross Cultures. The restaurant serves food that is both traditional and authentic, yet it's a bit more refined than your typical Indian restaurant. Our entrees were tasty and prepared with the amount of heat we requested. The dining area is spotless and tastefully decorated, providing for nice ambiance. The service was both attentive and friendly. We'll definitely return.
The best sagar Ratna in Delhi. Delicious food good ambience & great service.
An enchanting restaurant nestled in the heart of the city, offers a truly mesmerizing dining experience. From the moment you step through its doors, you are transported to a world of elegance and sophistication. The stylish decor, infused with a touch of artistry, sets the stage for a memorable evening. The menu is a delight, featuring a fusion of global flavors expertly crafted into innovative dishes. The culinary creations at restaurant are a testament to the chef's skill and creativity. The attentive staff adds to the charm of the place, providing impeccable service throughout your visit. This restaurant is a culinary gem that excels in captivating its guests with its refined ambiance, remarkable cuisine, and impeccable hospitality.
I am delighted to express my highest level of satisfaction with the outstanding food service I experienced! The delivery was impressively punctual, and the dishes were absolutely delightful, both in taste and presentation. The menu offered an extensive selection of options, and the portions were incredibly generous. The staff demonstrated an exceptional combination of warmth and expertise, surpassing all expectations to meet my every need. Without hesitation, I wholeheartedly recommend this food service to anyone seeking an extraordinary culinary adventure. It undeniably deserves a five-star rating!
Sagar Ratna is a very old South Indian restaurant at outer side lane of Ashok Hotel. The place is frequented by politicians and advocates mainly. The prices here are not as any other Sagar Ratna outlet has in Delhi. It's almost 2-3 times higher than that. The place is nice and service is good. Food is what Sagar Ratna offers at other places. There's parking outside the gate.
