How I found Shim Tur ?
While searching for Soju, I came across this quaint place, hidden in the narrow dainty lanes of Paharganj.
Let it me tell you, it wasn’t easy, specially around the first time, mostly because I was alone and got a lot of eyes balling at me, while I searched around.
But once found, since then, I have visited Shim Tur many times, mostly on Sunday Afternoons when the crowd would be low, it gave me a chance to disconnect from the world and get lost in the world of food, Korean food to be specific and of course the world with Soju.
On one such occasion I got the chance to meet the owner, a fine gentleman from Korea, he usually doesn’t stick around but he told me how his business changed once the Korean culture started becoming popular in India and how Soju is always in demand.
I was no different than others, I went there for some kimbab and soju, those are my favourite. Though a fewer vegetarian options, this place still stands out for me.
The place is divided into two, one with air conditioning and one outside, for afternoons I suggest to stay indoor, even though its not sunny at all, but evenings are specially pleasant outside. If you do visit there, don’t forger to have the classic Ramen bowl, the authentic Korean Ramen, just be careful for the spices that may come along in thr bowl.
The most exciting part about korean cuisine is the number of side dishes you get along with your main dish, thats just how the Korean Culture is; Shim Tur, does a complete justice to what I see on Korean Dramas and surely give it atleast 4 stars for their ambiance and food.
Somewhere in middle of the dense and crowded lanes of Pahadganj , lies this peaceful Korean cafe that is nestled on a rooftop , which blesses it with dollops of the comfy winter sun.
It's called Shimtur- which in Korean means "a place of relaxation"
My love for Bibimbap had me getting a fresh bowl of that sweet and spicy gochujang goodness , preceded by a clear Seaweed Soup that intrigued me from the get.
And I have to say both were so damn fresh and tasty that in my mind I was partying somewhere in the Korean peninsula with a gallon of Soju running through my veins. The Kimchi itself was one of the best I've ever had, legit af. And the seaweed soup with the sticky rice was really something.
Jokes apart, If you are capable of finding this spot, do go and try some of their amazing Korean food. The staff is extremely sweet and the cafe is hygienic and the food is full of flavor. Please carry cash

One of the most beautiful rooftop restaurant I've ever been to. It's a hidden gem in Paharganj. This is where I've been to for my first place. If you would like to try authentic Korean dishes then hop into Shimtur. It'll be worth it. The food is amazing. They also offer side dishes along with the main dish. I hope they spread their branch in other cities too.. especially Kolkata (fingers crossed)
Hard to locate, but totally worth it. Tried the pork self-grill platter recommend 10/10
I have a lot of friends who eat Korean food. So one of them introduced me to this hidden gem which is deep inside Paharganj.
Although when you reach the entrance, you’ll see a stinky toilet and a dingy staircase (well that’s Paharganj)
But once you go up two floors, this cute lil restaurant appears.
If you love Korean, you have to try this place.
Menu is limited, but it’s good food.
Ajjhushi who owns this place is a Korean, and he is a very nice man.
I have tried many things here, but my favourite would be kimchi fried rice coz I prefer vegetarian food. ❤️
This small cafe is truly a hidden gem in the streets of Paharganj. Went here with my friends to try some authentic Korean food. We tried veg kimbop, jaep chae bop and few other things. And we all liked everything. The only minus point is that it's quite hard to find. Otherwise the ambience, service, taste everything was just perfect. Must visit place for every Korean food lover.
Visited this place for the first time. I'd recommend people to visit it if you'd love to try Korean food at an affordable range with good taste.The location was little inconvenient to find but once you reach the restaurant it gives you a refreshing vibe.

The service and food was nice. Though the restaurant is located in a bit odd place. But except that everything is good. The ambience was nice. I tried Kimchi Soup there it was delicious.

Finding Shimtur is not the easiest feat, which is why once you do discover their spacious, aesthetically set seating area, it's a delight. We entered to the scratchy notes of Edith Piaf's voice singing in French and it felt like I had entered a different world altogether, one with greens and yellows and lovely breezes.
We ate a pork meal and a chicken meal with their usual accompaniments of kimchi, cucumber dipped in sweet sauce and the potatoes in sweet gravy. The pork was the highlight of my evening - so perfect roasted and brown.
Looking forward to visiting again soon!
Korean food has a unique taste and its liking varies from person to person. I loved it while my friend couldn't finish the food. The assorted items are a sight for the eyes. As for the taste, compared to the price at which they serve it is good. I absolutely loved the Kimchi. The staff is very well behaved.
Have visited the place twice already and i'm always amazed.
The restaurant is kind of hidden and the way to there is a little bit scary but it is worth it.
The ambience is perfect; there is good music and i like the personal touch in the decor made with korean books and souvenirs (photos,money notes) that were left by people who visited.
The food is amazing... If you are looking for a good Korean experience, this is the right place.
The service is a little bit slow, i had to get up and find the waiter myself 2 times.

A hidden gem inside congested narrow streets of Paharganj, Delhi. Known for its authentic Korean food.
Finally We reached to taste Korean food. Entry is a bit clumpsy,narrow and zig zag ,a bit horrible. In restaurant , It was quiet and chill place. Ambience is too cool.full of Korean books and collection of passport size photos of people.
First of all ,We tried Tuna fish sushi...It was good but some smoked smell was there.
Later on , We tried Kim Bop ....Chicken -with Soya sauce and another with spicy sauce. And Pork one also. (I will not go with traditional names because they're hard to remember)
Pork kim bop was too sweet . Chicken was good and tasty. Side dishes given was Cucumber something , some cabbage(very sour due to vinegar) , egg and potato (too sweet). Best was cucumber ...So soothing and yummy taste.
I tried Kimchi fried rice , it was tangy and sour , very good (still salivating)
One Tuna soup was also tried by us , it was also sour and a bit different tangy.
It seemed they use too much vinegar and canned products. All the dishes were full of smell and taste of vinegar and canned packed products smell.
Still quite worthy.

We went to this place on a weekday which is why there were very few customers. I was amazed by the quality of food that we ate here and their prices.
We ordered Tuma Kim Bop, Shin Ra Myun and Kimchi Fried Rice. All the dishes very amazing and authentic. Would love to visit again.
If you like Asian food. Give Korean cuisine a try.This place was perfect with Just like 'Ghar ka khana' feels. The kimchi fried rice was yum!!! We stuffed ourselves. Comfort food for me.
My happy place that I clearly do not get to go to enough... The food is as authentic as ever.. Love the ambience... The place for Korean! The only down side to this place is the approach road.. Hard to find, harder to like... But once you get there, the food makes up for it... I love the fruit beer too
If you are really craving for an authentic korean food then you must make a visit here . This place is little hard to find but totally worth visiting . Food here really taste amazing and soju (korean drink) add a taste to it. I personally like the pork most but all food is good. You can't complain about the service as they are fast .

Shim Tur is like a hidden gem. Ever heard, gotta go through hell to get to heaven. Well this perfectly explains where shim Tur is located. Hard to find and the area leading to it, isn't the greatest. Great place in the heart of Paharganj for authentic Korean food. Bang for the buck and has large portions as well. Slightly difficult to locate but once there you won't go back empty stomach.

And all tasted soo HUD... especially the fish KIMBAP...they were amazing...haven't had like these anywhere...and ramyeon was super gud..with a gud broth and mixture of ingredients ...BIBIMBAP was not as upto the mark...and had SOJU for the first time...and was a ok experience 😂,and finally I had TEKKBOKKI ...the spicy rice cakes🥰🥰🥰🥰....chewyyy and spicy....sides given with ramyeon was kimchiii, egg roll, potato, cucumber mash

This place is really nice! Disclaimer, you're going to wonder what you're getting into while you find your way into his restaurant but don't be discouraged! The place has got a really chill vibe to it. The place is so peaceful. And the music is pleasant. The ambience is really nice if you want to eat some great Korean food and catch up with friends. The food is really nice, subtle but tasty. I had the ham sushi, Korean pork barbecue and the Korean tea. The food was very nice. Perhaps the tea was not for my taste but nice and hot on an otherwise cold day. The picture wall is also a great idea, don't forget to leave your :)
After living in South Korea for a year, I fell in love with the Korean food and was searching for places to find an authentic bibimbap and sticky rice. Shim Tur is a hidden gem in the lanes of Paharganj and provides an experience worth remembering. We ordered gimbap(rice rolls wrapped in seaweed), bibimbap (sticky rice with assortment of veggies and an egg and a spicy sauce), my fav the egg ramen and finished it up with soju( a korean drink which hits you while it cleanses your palate). Loved it and everyone should definitely visit this place !
Found it very difficult to locate.. and the climb up those dingy and narrow steps didn’t let me expect what I saw on top. The restaurant has a surprisingly warm feel and ambience to it, very much unlike the way that led to it. Had a kimchi fried rice and a chicken dup bop, which was chicken with Korean sticky rice. Both the items tasted okish. I would give a 5 star for ambience and a 3 for the food!
Sam kyup sal with Soju is an experience. Ideal during spine chilling Delhi winter nights. The only turn off is the location, but as you walk up the stares through the shady lead ways the gem reveals itself.
Hidden in the busy lanes of Paharganj, Shim Tur is a must visit place for all the Korean food lovers. Samgyeopsal and Veg Kimbap are the best options here if you are a first time visitor. Great place to hang out with friends.

Been hearing about it for long, so finally decided to visit. Wasn’t that hard to locate using the google map app. It wasn’t bad. Very simple and relaxed place. We had the bbq pork, kimchi soup, spicy pork with veg and rice, soju and korean green tea(yup! Soju and tea) & a coke😅. The food was good for the price. One of the cheapest korean restaurant in town. Good food and polite staff. Will definitely go for more. It’s around 3 half * but let’s just go with 4*😊
Insanely difficult to find the placeif you aren't from Delhi. It took a lot of effort for me. Effort proved to fruitful. This is genuinely hidden gem. Authentic food at reasonable prices. Not the grandest of ambience and service but home like feel. If you are in Delhi and want to try something different with little effort, good experience awaits.

foods are affordable comparing to other korean restaurant in delhi but choice is very limited, they taste ok, not the best nor the worst and location is a bit hard to find.
We found this as a suggested restaurant in Google and as we were at the end of our trip around India we wanted something other than curry (and also something that would be easier on my stomach) and how glad we were to have listened to Google!
The food here is really good and is cooked with mineral water so we knew we were safe.
To get here you have to go through the entrance to Hotel Navrang, which doesn't provide the most welcoming image, but there are signs from the entrance of the hotel which you have to look for to guide you up a few flights of stairs. The stairwell is decorated with cute drawings to lead you to the restaurant and once you're up there it's such a cute and charming little place and very chilled out, a nice contrast to the hustle and bustle of the main bazaar.
Definitely recommend this place if you're after great tasting food and it's reasonably priced too.

Love this rooftop place which gives you totally a different feeling from the main market area with noisy crowd. Food was pocket friendly and well mannered staff. Finding this place a bit difficult as they have no signboard or direction to go' no one can imagine such a cool place can be there in such a gali wala rasta.. Otherwise I am quite satisfied with the food.

Im so glad i found this place, i did not cared much about the location when i got served in the restaurant, they serve "soju" korean Alchohol and they give complementary dishes also and food was really good, it is on rooftop i would suggest you to visit this place in the winters because of all thw vibes and they even have korean comics which you might not be able to read but they are just there for fun.
Shim Tur is hidden in a narrow lane but is really famous so you can easily ask around. The staff is really polite and courteous.

The food all tasted great and the portions were sufficient. Was not disappointed at all given I was trying Korean for the first time.

I wanted to go to Shimtur for long,went there on last Saturday. The location can be a bit tricky use Google map along with the help of the locals to reach there. They have 2 sitting area, open terrace another one is air-conditioned one.
The place is very cosy, with lots of pictures of the visitors being put up on the walls as a memory of them being a visitor. It's a great place to sit and relax and chit chat.
We ordered :
Bi Bim Bop- It is basically Korean veg rice with half fried egg on top. It was very tasty as it tasted very different. One should give it a try for sure.
Veg Kim Bop- It is veg Sushi , we got 12 sushis in a plate and it came with different sides including kimchi salad and soya sauce and a preparation of potato too.
As I went with one of my vegetarian friend I did not get to taste their non veg items but I am sure they will be awesome just like their veg items.
Pocket pinch was Rs 440/- including one bottle of coke,and no Gst was charged..
You can give it a try because their rate is very minimal and the taste of the items are super!

This place is a stark constrast to its surroundings - tucked in between the tiny lines of Paharganj.
The ambience of the restaurant is cozy and laid back with benches and some books.
This was my first time trying out Korean food, so I decided to go all out and tried multiple items:
• Tuna Kim Bop (Tuna Sushi) : I love Japanese Sushi, and the Korean version was just as good.
• Pork in Spicy Sauce with Sticky Rice : The Pork had just enough spice, perfect for the Indian palate.
• Squid in Spicy Sauce with Sticky Rice : Same sauce as the Pork. Squid was cooked well.
• Korean Pork Barbeque : A small grill was laid out in front of us - we grilled the pieces and wrapped them in lettuce leaves with garlic and a spicy chilli sauce. I found this one quite expensive (just the Barbeque costed Rs. 800)
• Korean Rice Wine (Soju) : While I wasn't a big fan, my friends liked it a lot. I'd still say this drink needs to be tried out for a complete Korean experience.
Along with the above dishes, they also serve side dishes like Kimchi, Sliced Egg Omlettes, Potatoes and Pickled Cucumbers - these are a nice addition to the main dishes.
Except for the Pork Barbeque, I found all the items to be quite reasonable.
This place is definitely a hidden gem worth trying.
A comfortable casual joint for some soul soothing korean food. Thoroughly enjoyed their tok bok ki (Tteok Nikki) and chicken dup bop with chilled refreshing soju. Excellent accompaniments. Lovely place to hang out with friends for long conversations !
The waiters are quick, responsive and sweet. The menu is amazing. The taste of food is actually quite authentic and the comfortable seating in the AC room and outside is quite a light hearted place to chill with your friends and have good food. I absolutely love their sticky rice, I'm a fan of it. It's a must visit place.
Excellent Korean experience. Don't miss out on the soju and the bibimbap. The soju is priced very well (600 a bottle). Although soju is cheap in Korea it will definitely be more expensive here. But the food is worth it and i will definitely recommend this place for its vibe, food and alcohol
If you love yourself some Korean food this is the go to place for that. The korean BBQ is just amazing. A very comfy and cozy restaurant, although the lanes leading to this place are dirty , once you reach the destination you completely forget about them and just enjoy authentic food. They also have beer and sake.
Tried Korean food for the first time. First of all this place is really difficult to find. I literally walked for half hour to find this place and once you enter yhe building you will find this place to be really shady. But the moment you enter the cafe, you will realize it is soo beautiful and calm.

Weekend means Soju! Bottoms up! Soju at ShimTur on Friday. Soju, is a clear, colorless distilled beverage of Korean origin. This was awesome, tastes like medicine though. You have to take it in one shot!
It'a always a delight visiting this place. Authentic korean and there isn't a single dish that isn't worth trying. I loved the kimbap- both veg and nonvegetarian. Definitely a place worth going to several times.

Though the location can be little difficult for some who are not very familiar with paharganj. However, it's worth the search and the owner is quite friendly and helpful. My staple meal here consist of ddeokbokki, sausage kim bap and bibimbap.
This is a very interesting place to start with. Located in a busy area in the very busy Paharganj, this place serves very good Korean food. The terrace seating is super in winters. A little hard to find but when you do, good time guaranteed.

This place is a little hard to find but it's definitely worth the effort. Best time to visit would be in the evening where one can have a chilled out time in an open gallery with dim lights. I really liked the Soju, one bottle is enough to give two people a good buzz.
It is a proper adventure to get to this Korean eatery, located in the underbelly of the already-crammed Paharganj.
But once you get here, it's a spacious, welcoming little space, with a fascinating menu.
The speciality on the menu is the Korean Soju- a vodka-like drink made of rice, which is a staple with Korean food.
Our order was - Shin Ra Myun (ramen noodles, in a soup)
Chicken Dup Bop (meal with chicken and rice)
The flavours were a pleasant change from the usual North Indian palate, though not on the extreme side.
All orders come with an array of side dishes that contribute to the flavoursome experience.

The only roadblock to a higher rating: the location.
Pretty nice place. The service could have been a bit more prompt. And the location of the place is a bit obscure and hence it was quite a pain to find. Coming to the food, the tuna sushi was pretty good. I also had the soya chicken with sticky rice. Food quality is pretty good.
Love chicken dubop and rice! they give lot of free banchan (side dishes) alongwith the food. Samgyeupsal is good too...just the variety of side dishes lack here as per what is required for this particular dish!
The Shim Tur is a calm and cozy place in the midst of Paharganj which overlooks the market. The scenic beauty definitely gives the Old Delhi feel. We went to this place to try some Korean food for the first time and indeed, the menu is very beautiful.
Located in a shady alley, the place itself is quite cozy. We ordered soju(rice wine), tuna gimbap(kind of like sushi) and what was essentially a sticky rice and squid dish.The food's taste was unexpectedly fresh with the gimbap worth special mention.The Soju was quite strong but definitely a must try.
One issue we had was that they did not provide plates until we asked which was only a problem as we came as a group.

I gave only 4 star because of the service this was my second visit to shim tur food is good if you are too much into Indian tadka and curries kindly don't go for shim tur like place they try to serve a very authentic korean food. I had my fav veg kimbap, with not so favorite jon dongae jegae don't order it the ferment soya bean paste is very tasteless for an Indian taste bud. Anyhow this place is one time visit for second time you will get bored. rest tukboki was good I parcel it with me and re-touched the dish with extra ketchup and chilly flakes.

When you are climbing the stairs for this place it seems shady and weird but when you get into the restraunt area it has the perfect ambience, this tiny place gave me my first ever Korean food experience!!
We had cham Chi bi bim bop , ham Kim bop, shin ramyun and I was in food heaven.
