New location in Sundernagar but Basil & Thyme is still as good as it was in its Santushti Avatar. The Chicken Liver Paté is easily the best in town as is their Burrata. Overall the food here has a freshness which is lacking in a lot of the fancier bistros which have popped up all over this side of town. A big plus is the quiet market it’s located in and the place has a simple clean cut no frills sort of feel. Glad I went there and a special mention for their ginger squash, everything that was there at the old Basil & Thyme is there and a lot more. The service is attentive and the Wine List is good. Great place to go and chat over a good meal.

This restaurant has been my favorite since forever! They earlier had an outlet near Samrat Hotel & shifted to Sunder Nagar a few years back. The food is amazing. Bit expensive but the quality & taste of food justifies the price. Service smacks of eye-for-detail. The staff is quite attentive. Must visit when in Delhi !

I would count this place amongst the top 5 continental restaurants in Delhi NCR. Great food with which they are hugely consistent. Just about everything on the menu is great. The neat and simple decor and owners who personally oversee the operations adds to a great experience.

Nice and quiet, because there's not much else to see in the market. Love the elegant, white and gold theme and the attentive-but-not-nosy service. Would have gone with five if it weren't for some letdowns on the food end of things. Both the lasagna and the risotto were a bit overcooked (no bite to the rice or the noodles) and somewhat sloppy. But the pork belly and the lamb were both first class. Definitely worth it if you're looking for some comforting mild fare.

This beautiful restaurant is owned by a old Oberoi hand Sunil Chandra and his super-efficient wife Erna. Basil & Thyme had been my favorite for a very long time in its old location at Santushti but my first time after it moved to Sundar Nagar.

This is a great restaurant also well known for its Pate.

Plan a visit soon if not already done it.

One of the best places for continental food in Delhi. White table cloth laden tables, well trained waiters and a limited menu makes for a very pleasing experience. The John Dory, the Boscaiola pasta and chocolate pate are highly recommended.

Basil&Thyme has been my go-to place in the middle of my shopping sprees in Santushti. But it kept its taste intact when it moved to Sunder Nagar a couple of years back. Personally, I find the place costly if I’m going out with my friends. But it’s the perfect place to have dinner with the family and enjoy an evening or Sunday brunch. The Apple raspberry almond torte melted in my mouth with every bite. I’ve savoured every dish at this place and my favourite has to be the perfectly dressed salads!

Tucked away in a quaint corner of Sunder Nagar market, this came as a highly recommended place for Italian food. My office colleagues and I settled in for a relaxed conversation over Saturday lunch. We chose one vegetarian appetiser, spinach and cheese toasted on a bread base (cannot remember any of the dish names); roast chicken and bratwurst for mains. Preparations were authentic, just so rightly seasoned and portions optimum. Service was courteous and efficient. They also have good selection of wines, aperitifs and select beers. Prices are optimal. A leisurely lunch of 4 main course entrees, an appetiser, four beers and a bottled water served cost us approximately ₹6000. I also picked up a basket of almond biscotti on my way out; they are delicious though I missed the original egg cake like flavor that I love biscotti for. Highly recommended.

Used to go to this place 20 years ago in Santusthi Complex opposite Hotel Samrat. At a time when there were hardly any fine dine restaurants outside of five star hotels this place gave a world view of what that was like - the best soups, entrees, international fare.
This was my first time at their sunder nagar location and I was not as impressed. The salad ( avocado tomato and grapefruit ) was a 5 on 10. The pita triangles just about cut it. The quiche was amazing and saved the day. Succulent, perfectly seasoned and a beautiful crust on the outside.
Maybe another visit might tell me more!

Menu is what makes it a place of choice for a lunch date with friends ...The celery drink was a true refresher and the ginger ale as an option on menu did justice. Simple two ingredient salad also can steal the show!! The Avacado and tomato salad was great. Watermelon and ticket salad was great ....the roasted chicken salad was also great. In the grilled Solomon dish ...The Solomon was the hero of the dish ( which should be indeed) perhaps the other ingredients went un noticed due to that!! Affogato and the gateaux were also up to the mark.

Lacks old charm of Santushti though ambiance is soothing and light. Soup was tasteless however when we complained they didn't charge anything. Pasta, Sandwiches and platter was good but heavily coated with cheese. Food was also not much spicy and of my taste..but can be improved like old times. Cost wise okay..Good for Italian lovers and once in while can be visited.

This place, offering classic Italian fare, has been around for years. Now that it's opened in my neighbourhood, i've become a frequent visitor.

I can't give it many points for ambience. However, what it lacks in presentation, it makes up for in food.

I had the "Bocconcini, Sun-dried Tomato and Mesclun Salad" as a starter, which was absolutely bursting with fresh flavours- highly recommended. For the main course we shared the "Chicken Boscaiola" which true to its description was a delicious creamy pasta with goodies like chicken, mushrooms, bacon, parmesan and herbs.

Their portion sizes are not very large but perhaps that's a good thing and allows you to try more from the menu. We also tried the Indian "York Zinfandel" rose wine which was quite good.

The service was attentive but I did notice quite a few mosquitos inside the restaurant, which put me off!

Basil and Thyme (B&T) is one of my favorite not only because its one of Delhi’s oldest continental restaurant; but also because they have consistently served good food. Located in a perfect corner on one of the garden at Santushti Complex, the restaurant has a wonderful ambiance. You can enjoy your food in just perfect setting.

Their Tiramisu, crepes and Avocado Salad are my personal favorites. Their service is also excellent. You need to make lunch reservations much in time, else waiting for good food can make you more hungry.

Basil and Thyme is a beautiful environment place with amazing great Continental cuisines. It's a fine dinning restaurant ...
Located at Sundar Nagar Main Market ,Basil and thyme is a perfect ambience place with delightful infrastructure . It's ideal to relax and chill around.
The service and the staff is good as its quick on service and well mannered staffs.
It has a separate smoking area and they also serve beer and wine....
Now mine favourite here is the Italian roast chicken(served with bell peppers, mozzarella cheese , stuffed with spinach and sun dried tomatoes )
The prawn salsa verde is a good one ...For dessert it's the tiramisu which was the best of all....
Overall it's a good place to be but it could improve more.
It's not that impressive when it comes to food ....

Serving a rich range of Continental preparations, Basil and Thyme seems to have everything in place except for the food quality which weighs it down a little. While the varieties are not something that you would complain about, it remains the taste of few of its preparations that seems to be not that satisfying.

Went here a few days ago and tried out the following items-

Creamy Chicken Pasta- The portions size was decent but the taste seemed a bit unflavored.

Pita Triangles- Tried the one with garlic butter, mozzarella and tomatoes. Tasted fine.

Apart from this I have also had their Roast Chicken and John Dory both of which were good but could certainly be bettered.

If you ask about my final verdict, I consider it in the category of the places that are although good but leave decent scope for ameliorations.

Since 2009-10 this has been my get away from work for a light meal and amazing tiramisu! Infact, it was here my obsession with tiramisu started. I love the location and the feel of the restrau! Its so soothing and relaxing. However, the pita has too much oil every damn time i eat it (have stopped ordering now). I like the mushroom risotto! Its yum! The desserts are amazing! Can do a better job by adding few things to the menu!

We were 3 for lunch.  The Food: shared starters.. chicken pate which was  v flavourful and the ham, ham-rocket-brie salad which was excellent. Mains, Bratwurst - v good. red pepper and leek tart-  v good and quiche lorraine  also good, although it was really a bacon and cheese tart. We had only one dessert (because the quiche/tart were very filling)  the rasberry apple and almond torte which was really excellent. Coffee - cappuccino and espresso - top notch, and the slender biscotti served with the coffee was the best I've had in Delhi. All three of us felt the portions were very good. The starters by themselve cld be a light lunch. The Restaurant:  as one of my companions said, is a rare grown up space in this city - muted colours, properly spaced out tables, no TV,  and really great the service. Its a great place for food, and a conversation.

Lovely Sunday brunch at the new Basil and Thyme. The menu has expanded to include things like the yummy burrata with pesto and tomatoes starter- a nice twist to the caprese salad. And the pita triangles are a comfortable take on pizza. Had the Black Forest ham, mozzarella and arugula one. For mains, the vegetarian crepes (to share as we were full with the starters) and dessert was the classic vanilla ice cream with berry compote and the chocolate espresso cake. It would be a good idea to have the option of a scoop of vanilla ice cream with this cake too, as they do with the old standard Gateau Zara. Old favorites on the menu jostle for attention with new dishes. Above all though, loved the clean, Bright look, the plants outside that make you feel you're in a garden, excellent service and quiet atmosphere and personal interest and friendly banter with the owner.

Being located on the ground floor - it is one of the most easily accessible and old age friendly place in sundar nagar

The decor is light and basic and nothing fancy whatsoever

Food: we ordered the following items
Quiche Lorraine- too much cheese for our palate
John Dory
Bratwurst
Roast chicken
Creamy chicken pasta
Tiramisu
Chocolate cake served with plums
Strawberry filled cake

Out of the above the items that would take me back would be the desserts and the creamy pasta. The portions r small and the menu is very limited.

We went there for Sunday lunch and had a really good time, an all time favourite with the chicken liver pate takes you back to school days. It is just as good as it was in earlier days. We tried the olive pate which is also pretty good and the burrata that was really good! I definitely appetisers to the mains, I ordered the spinach filo pastry that could have been crispier - was a decent dish but not sure if I would go back and order it again. The veg musakaa we ordered was also okay and not a standout. Someone on the table ordered salmon sandwich which was nice as well. The tiramisu and the chocolate nemesis with strawberries that were both really good. The service was very nice. I would try it once for sure before U make up your mind as they did have some outstanding appetisers and desserts!

The ambience of 'Basil and Thyme' is very elegant. It is a quiet, little place (a bit too quiet for my liking, though). The food is delicious and worth trying!

We had the Black Olive Pate for starters - which was quite average. Same for the (Vegetarian) Filo Parcels. But the Moussaka (vegetarian), Italian roast chicken and Salmon with Rucola Pesto were exquisite! The portions, however, are small and 'just' sufficient for one person.

As a resident of the colony, the dearth of places to eat here, used to make me sad. But with basil and thyme (a restaurant older than me :p) opening up, my taste buds were super excited.

Ambience - The ambience, with its off white interiors, has a nice colonial feel to it. It's a no fuss place which gives a rather homely vibe.

Service - The waiters are well trained, courteous and know the menu well. The owner comes to each table to ensure the guests are doing fine.

Food and drinks -
Celery soda - this was not a very good choice as all you can taste is fizzy celery. Sticking to the ginger fizz would've been better.
Salmon with lemon butter sauce - The salmon had a crisp skin and came with a nicely herbed lemon butter sauce.
Italian roast Chicken - The chicken is stuffed with bell peppers and cheese and tastes nice as well.
Prawns with Salsa - The prawns come with a slightly tangy salsa sauce and a Hint of pesto.
Chocolate nemesis - This wasn't very nice and seemed like it was posted straight out the the fridge.

Overall, the food is not be brilliant and maybe a tad bit overpriced and I'm not sure if I'd like to go again.

The food is slightly overpriced and a little underwhelming. But this place is not even intending to cater to the nit picky market. Go because you want good food, non interfering servers and a relaxed environment - think white walls, white plates, white table cloth, different butter and main course knives and silverware.

Both their minced lamb and vegetarian moussaka was a little wetter than you'd like but they still recommended it over the Filo Parcels which seemed very promising. Similarly, the Chicken Boscaiola (chicken pasta with bacon) was good, but a not a dish one would repeat.

While these were misses, there were a few great hits. The Ham and Cheese Quiche Lorraine with cheese and bacon was a complete knockout. But, can you ever go wrong with bacon and cheese! Well this place certainly doesn't. The chicken sandwich, generously dolloped with butter was as close to melt in your mouth as you can get.

The same repeated with the desserts, the Chocolate Walnut Gateau was a super knockout, the ganache that bound the cake and the walnut was as perfectly textured as it could get and was perfectly paired with the vanilla ice cream, which was not a cream dairy explosion or icy like a sorbet. The same can't be said about the peach and shortbread combo. There was something off and for that there was consensus on the table. If you like coffee then their Affogato, might be your gamble.

Had it not been for the price or food loving expectation, they'd get more than a 3.5.

While there were a few misses, there were also hits. If you like a dish, then the ambience of this place and the bill is not if any particular relevance, you will come back. Otherwise if you are not into this kind of food, you might want to pass.

A beautiful place to visit for real continental food after the shopping spree at the Santushti Complex. I was very much looking forward to my visit to Basil and Thyme and it was worth it.
'Soothing' and 'Warm' are the perfect words for its interiors. I am happy to say that I did not find even a single fault with this place, be it the food, the very welcoming and warm staff or the homely atmosphere.
Coming to the food, starters are just right in quantity but I would like to specially mention about my main course. I am usually not fond of risotto but the Wild Mushroom Risotto is one of the bests I have had. The tomato mozzarella provincial herb pasta was quite cheesy and nice.
The best part was the dessert- Almond Shortbread with peaches here is such a mouth melting thing that you would want to have more of it. Peaches add such nice tangy flavour and the bread is so crispy.

Taking one point away just because the place is heavy on pockets. But I would surely love to visit it again to try other things.

This is a place for the private ones and is extremely good at it. Zero decor, quaint and classy, totally away from the hustle bustle of a regular market cafe/restaurant. Minimalistic menu shows their confidence in what they cook. We ordered Veg Mousakka, Tomato and cheese sandwich and a blueberry cheesecake. Pictured with this review is the two main dishes. The mains were good, fresh, light and had a very home like feel to it. What that didn't click with me at all was the cheesecake. It must've been fresh but it had a gelly like feel, was grainy and the Base was just breaking away so I'd say the cheesecake was a total let down in simple words (as simple as their theme :P ) but I'm going back there again for my tea's and other things because this sure is one hidden gem here in Delhi.

'BASIL & THYME' is an unseen treasure located at serene and peaceful Santushti shopping complex in Army campus, opposite Hotel Samrat, Chanakya puri. The restaurant is at the end of the complex that has plush gardens and designer label showrooms.

The colonial look restaurant has bare minimum interiors with white walls, wrought iron furniture and big windows that gives you a wonderful view of the greenery of the complex.

The menu is very crisp, mainly consists of continental cuisine and has limited options but certainly something to look forward to.

The servers were courteous and very well informed.
On their recommendation, I tried ITALIAN ROAST CHICKEN - This innovatively stuffed chicken salami was brilliantly prepared in white wine sauce. Each ingredient was complementing well with the other and I enjoyed the dish thoroughly.

CHICKEN BOSCAIOLA - This creamy pasta in appropriately thick white sauce, was prepared with chicken, mushrooms and bacon. It's certainly a must try for carnivores as it was overloaded with meat, unlike other places where meat is put for the namesake.

This place rightly proves that a courteous staff can do wonders to your dining experience.
It was undoubtedly a very relaxing affair but the prices will definitely pinch your pocket. My total bill for the two dishes was Rs. 1411/- (inclusive taxes)

PS - The restaurant is operational from 10.30 in the morning to 6.00 in the evening.

Basil and Thyme is a very old restaurant opened by Bhicoo Manekshaw.
The knterior of the restaurant remains a minimalist white room, with stone floors and large windows overlooking the greenery of Santushti Shopping Complex.

This restaurant though conventional is a very popular lunch spot serving contemporary food. They serve dishes like carrot-and-orange soup, pita triangles with various options, Risotto, Sandwiches. This restaurant is located in the corner of Santushti Complex and has made an exclusive niche for itself.

After shopping at Santushti, we wanted to have a quick meal for our hunger pangs, so we ordered for a Veg. Sandwich and a Coffee. I completely enjoyed my small meal. Sandwich was accompanied by a salad, which, was overpowered with garlic. I am not a garlic fan, so couldn't understand the taste of garlic in salad. I loved my Sandwich though. Coffee came along with a biscotti, which, enriched the taste of Coffee.

Service is quick and warm. The restaurant totally has a classic touch, right from interiors to food and service.

A nice small niche to enjoy a good meal.

Went back to Basil & Thyme after many years and was glad to find that it's just as good. Simple, unpretentious, cosy and with great food and service, hidden away in the santushti market, you're unlikely to come across it randomly. The menu is limited, which is good, and everything on it is pretty good. We tried the pita with mozzarella, the spinach crepes and the chicken and mushroom filo parcel. The food, all of it, was very well made and presented, flavours are balanced, the food is light and makes for a thoroughly satisfying meal. The filo parcels served with a plum chutney in particular was quite enjoyable, and I would definitely recommend giving it a try. We spent about 1800 for a meal for two including a coffee, which was pretty decent for both the meal and ambience.

The only reason this is not a 5 out of 5 is because of their hours, though honestly, when you're this good, you can set your own hours.

Food is among the best in Delhi. The Salmon special was the Best salmon I have ever had. And the waiters actually know what they're doing...I know, right? Wonderfully unbelievable!

Atmosphere is simple and on the verge of being too plain and boring, but clean and well maintained.

If you haven't tried it, dress up a bit (more than a t-shirt, good jeans are fine), and head out there now. Watch the timings, they close at 6pm.

It has a very soothing ambiance and great food. Being located in Santushti Complex, they have a very niche customer base. The options in the menu are not many, but they can customise the dishes for you on request. We asked for something Gluten-Free, and they prepared two dishes for us. The Italian Roast Chicken, straight out of the menu and some steamed fish in lemon and garlic sauce. Both dishes tasted really good. The service is pretty efficient and the dishes are presented well. However, the pricing is slightly on the expensive side.
Definitely worth a visit!

An unexpected day off from work on a Monday meant a treat was in order so I decided to visit Santushti as it was a lovely day. This obviously meant lunch at the once legendary Basil and Thyme! Well I reached at about 1:45pm to an almost empty restaurant - that was a bit worrying! My recall was a 2week waiting list back in the early 2000s!! But my disquiet was put to rest as the chilled ginger fizz arrived, the Mesclun salad and that superb chicken liver pate arrived! All were as great as I recalled and oh so fresh!! The main course of John Dory, chicken and veg Crepes were all great and the freshness of all the dishes is praise worthy. The all white ambience that used to scare we when I was 20 now reminded me of a well maintained army mess!! All very proper and non fussy! Go visit!

In the beautiful marketplace of Santushti you'll find this cafe at the far east corner of the complex. Sitting in the cafe you feel like you're away from the busy streets of Delhi and you're just having some quiet time somewhere outskirts.

We ordered Pita triangles brushed with Garlic butter, herbs topped with Mozzarella. Cappuccino and Fresh Lime for drinks.

The Pita triangles were served whole in the shape of a pizza. It was just mouth watering just by looking at it. Oh the aroma! I still remember how fresh it was. Eating the first bite and it was just delicious!
I'm surprised why more people aren't serving this variety. This was just amazing!
The cappuccino was good too. The fresh lime as you'd expect it.

This is a small gem hidden in the Santushti complex. Pristine white ambience welcomes you with no frills decor and seating.
The staff is prompt and looks very experienced.
It has a limited menu but am told that everything in the menu is worth trying.
We went there this Tuesday afternoon after a shopping visit to Santushti. Ordered ginger fizz and chicken and rocket leaves salad with olive oil and balsamic vinegar dressing. It was very very good.
Will visit again to explore more. Please go and try out this hidden gem.

Delhi's secret ! A restaurant with a finesse. It is one of those places that is woven in the soft charm of which Europe itself is known for. The menu does a good job in incorporating traces from most parts of the Continent as well as the isles.

Great location and pleasant ambience. It's lovely to have delicious Italian preparations with greenery surrounding you amidst a chic market. It's usually very busy so prior reservation is recommended.
The menu is limited but good. The pita triangles are tasty and tiramisu better than most Italian cafés . Pan fried fish is light and filling.

This is my favourite restaurant in Delhi. Their food is consistently good quality and their service very very good.
Their soups of the day are always fun as are their changing specials. Their menu is more limited than other restaurants in Delhi, but whatever they do, they do very well.
Must try their Carrot and Orange soup as well as their Biscotti.

Amazeballs! i will go back again and again.

Location is no doubt great.
Not very suitable for vegetarians though. I personally felt its little overpriced. Might be non veg food is worth it. But veg food variety is very less and expensive, yet the prices are well justified according to the locality and surrounding shops.

we had a fantastic time here. the food served here is not just to satiated the body but the soul too ! one just feels so nice after a meal here. the ambience is spartan giving you the sense of space and freedom, and the waiters are very attentive.

i had their special of the day, a slice of john dory with seaweed butter ! what can i say .... the fish gently oozed its juices as you sliced into it ... titilating the senses all the more !

after that i've been here many a time, always to be left with that feeling of being terribly satiated !

In a nutshell:

We had a ball of a time at this 2 decades old small, beautifully made restaurant that has a Colonial feel, very trained, nice & efficient staff , a crisp menu & of course some very good food that is of the 5 star level.

Short Description - in case u r in a hurry:

It took us quite a while to really be sure that we had to drive into an army Campus for lunch!!!! Once we were somewhat sure, we drove in, I rolled down the glass & anxiously asked the Army Guy 'Is this the road to Santusti'? The answer came with a welcoming smile free 'Yes, you r in the right place. Pls drive in straight, park the car & walk back'. As we drove in, we cud see barracks on one side & multiple sports grounds on the other. The catch of this place is that it shuts at 6pm.

On each sides of the road there is a 'Santusti Complex' - having beautifully landscaped gardens & designer label showrooms in thatched roof shops. Basil & Thyme is at the end of one of these complexes.

As we were entering Basil & Thyme, what impressed me was the timelessness of the building. A small white building with thatched roof & full glass French Windows that allow natural lighting inside. Once inside, all was pristine white & that was interspersed with vegetation visible from the windows - looked great to me.

An elderly Gentleman welcomed us & showed us to our table. The serving staff took over from there - from laying a fresh table cover to getting the cutlery, menu card etc. The service guys were formal, polished, impeccable, spoke fluent English without any strong local accent and were of a rare variety - u do not see this kind any more (except in some 5 stars & 7 stars). I being me, I started a conversation with one of them & he said he was working here for 10 years. That I wud say is rare in today';s environment where u see a guy in a restaurant for 3 years & then in a departmental store & maybe moving on to be a mobile phone store staff!!!!

The furniture was basic wood & white in color.

Detailed Description - In case u have the Time to NJOY reading:

We started our lunch with Liver pâte. For the uninitiated, Pâte is a mixture of cooked ground meat and fat minced into a spreadable paste. Common additions include vegetables, herbs, spices, and either wine or cognac or brandy. Pâte is considered to develop its fullest flavor after a few days of chilling.

Liver pâte was smooth, intense, flavourful . We super loved it just as if us and also with super thin slices of crispy bread - Melba toast. I wud give this a 4.5/5

Post this we ordered Moussaka with lamb mince. The baked dish had Layers of zucchini & potatoes topped with cheese flavoured bechamel.

For the uninitiated, Bechamel sauce, also known as white sauce, is made with a roux of butter and flour cooked in milk. It is one of the mother sauces of French cuisine and is used in many recipes of Italian cuisine, for example lasagne. It is also used as the base for other sauces.

The Moussaka had loads of mutton mince which ended up overpowering the zucchini, cheese & aubergines. Hardcore carnivores' shud ideally love it but a bit more balance of tastes and flavours cud have taken this dish to a new level. The mince was cooked in a tomato based sauce that was very optimally cooked and hence the usual Delhi tomatoee feel was not there. I wud rate this a 4/5.

Post that we had Prawns with with seaweed sauce. The Prawns were super juicy, very soft , bursting out with flavours, & had a hint of wasabi and seaweed minced. The buttery sauce was do good that we wiped it off with bread & finished it as if it never existed.

The beans were Perfectly done - crunchy and optimally salted. The carrots were just right as well. Loved dipping the carrots in sauce and eating. I wud give this a 4.75/5.

We also found this quite interesting - Italian roast chicken with stuffing of spinach red bell peppers mozzarella and sun dried potatoes. However, we had no more space left. Look forward to trying that next time.

For dessert we had Almond shortbread with peaches So simple yet so good. Crunchy but crumbling biscotti base, topped with cream and canned peach - Good canned peach that tastes almost as good as real. Sweetness and tart of the peach was balanced. Loved it. I wud give this a 4.5/5

I wud love to get back to this place.

Ideal for a date / catching up with friends after long etc with some good food to accompany a great conversation.

This is my favourite place to eat in the city. The service is excellent and the food consistently good. They have excellent fish options, their menu though not extensive always has changes (keeping in mind seasonal ingredients). Last week we sampled some of their Christmas fare and it was sublime- delectable gravy and turkey.
I'd redo anytime!

I hope to get to Delhi again and will certainly dine at Basil and Thyme first chance I get! All the best to staff and owner.

I love everything about Basil & Thyme! The bright interior, the menu, the waiters and the owners. I would eat a meal there every day if I lived next door. This is my kind of food - tasty, attractive, uncluttered, & elegantly served. I have been a customer since Basil & Thyme opened at Santushti. Keep going guys!

A nice serene place. Though you can expect some attitude from the waiters who are perhaps used to diplomats and Uber rich people coming by but if you can ignore them then a place worth visiting at least once for the food.

Mediterranean food, generally, but with a bias towards Italian. Antipasti are varied and excellent, the herbs used being particularly fresh and vibrant. They have a good wine list and we found that our preference of a dry Prosecco was chilled to perfection. You could, if your tastes are so inclined, go for the pork medallions but do check before hand that they're available. Our climatic conditions are sometimes hostile so the restaurant is careful! It's currently run by the Son-in-law law of the great Bhikoo Manekshaw (of Field Marshal fame) who was responsible for setting the high standards for the original food menu of the IIC (India International Centre), Delhi. There's a small desserts menu. However, we found the simple Affogato assembled to perfection on a hot day.
