It's a veg food restaurant located behind delite
cinema.
Proper family restaurant.
Pricing is reasonable
Very delicious food they serve... but evening time little crowd .., so u have to wait some minutes to enjoy the food ... for south and North Indian dishes are famous here❤️
North Indian Thali was v good. Taste was superb. So was South Indian Thali.
Dosa is superb but they need to improve taste of shahi paneer and dal makhani
Went their for the first time, tried their paneer ki sabzi , dal makhni, garlic naan and masala dosa. Must say food was good and tasty. Place was very clean and neat. I loved the food their and even i cleaned the whole plate.
Par Excellence Service & Tremendously Delicious Delicacies !!! Bhaja Govindam has Very Quiet & Warm Atmosphere & Extremely Beautiful , Comfortable Sitting Arrangement. The Food is Truly Awesome , Mouth Watering , Freshly Prepared & Hygienic. Its Masala Chaai ( Spiced Milk Tea ) is Also Very Tasty , Refreshing & Above All All the Dish Preparations & Delicacies are of Great Quality plus Quantity. Hats Off to BHAJA GOVINDAM & its Warm Par Excellence Service. GOD BLESS US ALL ALWAYS !!! WELL DONE
A very nice option for all the pure veg people. I ordered rasam, tandoori aloo and tandoori panner, dal makhni, kadai panner, vegtable raita, butter naan, dosa and rasam idili. Everything was amazing! Both north indian and south indian were delicious. The food was served hot and the service was nice. Looking forward to visit the place again.
A perfect veg restaurant in a pocket-friendly way😊👍
Good, really good food. Nicely prepared. The consistency, preparation, taste, everything was upto the mark. :)
If you're looking for a family restaurant that is pure vegetarian, look no further. I've been to many veg restaurants but the food here is just amazing. The service is great too. The interior is very old and hence gives a vintage and royal theme. Since it's a family restaurant, you may want to give it a miss if you're with friends.
Food: 9/10
Ambiance: 8/10 (Personal Choice)
Service: 9/10
Value for Money: 8/10
A really good ambience and vibe to the place... located right next to Delhi Stock Exchange makes it easy to locate!
The Thali is a delite while the Veg Chowmein had too much vinegar according to my taste!
The service was prompt and fast.
A nice place for family gathering.
4/5 overall rating
Very good place! The food taste is very good! Though wrong combo but we had a north indian thali and vegetable noodles and the northern thali tasted brilliant!
Taking a business associate out for lunch is not usually a difficult task but most of our Business associates are Pure Vegetarians, who prefer places that serve only vegetarian food. The Choices are limited in our area, as u can't take them to a dhabha. The best place for such an official Lunch usually is Bhaj Govindam on Asaf Ali Road in the Delite cinema complex.
As we were just three people we didn't order much and started with Chach, which was very refreshing on a hot sunny day, this was followed by dal, Birbali kofta Makhani with mirchi paranthas again very good and for Desserts I ordered the Ras Malai and my associates had Rasgullas the Ras malai was outstanding and very soft.
I am a regular visitor and I recommend the kaju Korma too, very heavy but super tasty. They serve very nice South Indian food as well. The seating very comfortable, the Air conditioning is great and we end up spending an hour at least as we get to talk a lot of business as they don't have loud music.
My rating is 4.5 on 5 for the fantastic meal

Nice ambience accompanied with mouth watering food. One of the best place in Central delhi to help your taste buds. Thali is really good with plenty of variety.
Must Try:
Dahi ke Sholey (Dish of the Day)
Chana Bhatura
Mysore Masala Dosa
and
Dal Tadka.
Ambience is good and service is responsive. Complete Family restaurant for small gatherings, Not recommended on weekends unless pre booked.
Food is worth spending money and time.
Huge menu to try different flavours and Gajar Halwa is worth trying.
Cheers to Good Food. 👍
They serves Delicious mouthwatering Soyabean chaap with spicy mint chutney...sometimes it takes time to get what you ordered but the wait is worth it..price are reasonable! Must Try 🖖
Went there with my college mates.we ordered family dosa, it was amazing the taste was outstanding and we all were amazed to see the size of dosa.

This restaurant never fails to impress. You can always trust this place to host a family dinner or to celebrate someone specials' birthday. We had North Indian, and their special Birbali Koftas were mind blowing. The best was the special for the day - Dahi ke kabab - succulent, and juicy the kebabs literally stole our breath. We also had a mirch ka parantha which went along well with the koftas. Their afghani pulao is not spicy - it includes mainly a ghee tadka - passable.
This is a place where we used to go as kids with our families and not a lot has changed since then leaving aside the location.
We ordered Paneer Masala Dosa and Tomato Onion Uttapam which were decent although the Uttapam seemed to be a little undercooked.
In the main course we went for their famous Malai Kofta and Dal Makhani which were on point and the flavours were superb.
The real winners were their desserts, Kesar Kulfi and Gulab Jamun. Quantity was on the lower side for Kulfi but the taste made it up for it.
Overall a great option with their fast service and good food.
Chanced into this place when we were catching a movie in the adjacent Delite cinemas. Amaze thali n the paper masala dosa my friend ordered was decent too. Being a malayali, it's hard to find good coconut chutney in dilli. But their coconut chutney is damn legit. Also, very good service!
All in all, amaze experience. Love it
Delicious food after a 'Delite-ful' movie is always desirable! Dinner at Bhaja Govindam was exactly that! And what could be more satisfying than the smile on your parents' face after the first bite!
There's a Tamil saying that one grain is enough to test a whole pot of boiling rice. Likewise was our dinner at Bhaja Govindam. Our order was tandoori rotis with Mixed Vegetable and Curd Rice.
We asked the bearer to prepare the Mixed Vegetable with less spice and oil -- something many restaurants don't follow even after specifying. But one bite down, I could see the satisfaction on my father's face!
The curd rice that we'd ordered deserves special mention. Even without the tempering, the dish had the taste we were looking for.
I saw my dad doing something he doesn't do very often: walking up to the manager of the restaurant and thanking him for the good food.
Indeed, thank you, Bhaja Govindam, for the wonderful dinner, and that too at a pocket-friendly price! Hope to visit again!
This place is just beside delite cinema hall , we ordered thali's.

U should try to visit here if you are visiting somewhere around
An amazing unit in the heart of Delhi - just next to Delhi gate, below the famous delite cinema. During the day you will find difficulty in finding space to park and drive your vehicle here, as it’s in commercial hub of Delhi.
We reached here before evening movie and we were stunned to see so many people eating and who were inside the cinema hall too- I realised it’s a famous place which good standard of people coming to watch movie and have dinner / food first before he movie.
We had their Thali and paneer dish, we loved it.
The ambience was fine, little loud
Staff - fine
Service - felt it’s slow, could be faster
Food served - was hot
Taste - very good
Hole In Pocket - 700 for two with a smile to come back again
I used to visit this place when I was a kid with my family and order the family dosa which is a huge dosa and I guess is their speciality. No other restaurant serve that👀.
I went here again for my cousin's birthday celebration and all we ate was chaap because all other naan, vegetables and south Indian was okayish.
We ordered 6-7 plates of their stuffed Malai soya chaap which was amazing.
In breads, I had garlic naan which didn't have the taste of garlic in it. Mirchi naan was okay.
Stuffed kulcha and onion kulcha tasted sort of dry.
Their bhajgovindam special sabzi was paneer and sweet in taste.
Overall, it was a good experience. Can go out for dinner with family at bhajgovindam.
Great place for vegetarians. I visited with my family and everyone loved it. North indian and south indian both are equally good. Ambience , taste , service everything is up to the mark!
Really nice place to visit with your family
Ambience was good and food served was upto the mark.
Speacialising in south indian food.
I ordered the family dosa and achari chaap which are worth ur money.
Amazing place to visit with your family😊
Tried the delicious family dosa and i loved it
Achari chaap and panerr pakora were also worth your money.
The ambience was also really good.
Nice place, nice ambience, good food, good service & all good. Can go here with family without any worry. Should try there south indian & also chole bhature(just for size of bhatura, not for taste).
Good menu and food. Service and ambiance is good. Vegetarian options of all kind are pretty much kool. The soda lassi was amazing choice for the summer noon.
A rustic and a GRT place which has surely stood the test of time.
A place in Delhi that truly related to the cafes in mumbai both food and price wise.
Over a period have developed preferences of what to eat here but if one orders anything across he menu - wouldn’t be dissapounted.
The best part you can walk in anytime across the day and will be served a meal - from breakfast to dinner they serve everything.
The verdict
One of the must visit places in Delhi.
visited this amazing place called bhaja govindam with my family last night. the best family restaurant i have visited till now. food was amazing not to spicy the taste feels good in my mouth . loved this place. 😍
This place has one of the best tasting South Indian dishes in Delhi. The Sambar, ooh boy the Sambar, EXCELLENT!!!. Their other cuisines are also on par with their South Indian cuisines. Good ambiance and fair price. Car parking will be your only problem.
This is my husband first choice. From the last 14yrs I visited this restaurant. Each n everything here is delicious. Whether it is paneer tikka, Dal makhani, veg uttampam, dosa, sambhar.Gulab Jamun are also mouth watering.
Amazing food and amazing place to eat South Indian food in New Delhi. Near to metro station. Superb service. Liked South Indian thali. Interior and image of Krishna makes you feel like truely Indian hotel.
Awesome food!!! the best dosa in the city and friendly staff!!!Value for money! if you want to have north indian, this is equally a good place to be.
If you want to try good south indian dishes ... the place is the right choice for you ... good dishes with delicious sambhar and coconut chutney ... bit crowdy on weekends and usuallu busy due to multiplex nearby ... but worth a wait ... north indian dishes are good too ... would recommend kaju korma for sure ... and onion rava masala dosa ...
Unique & old gold from daryaganj, located in front of delite cinema. They serves only NORTH INDIAN & SOUTH INDIAN cuisine and this is the only minus point as I love chinese & italian.
AMBIENCE- Fine dining experience with low light theme. They have comfortable seats & airy atmosphere.
FOOD- We tried both north & south indian. Dosa & sambhar was a well prepared with perfect blend of spices. North indian thali was sufficient for two people with tempting shahi paneer, dal, raita & sweet but roti & naan are very tight /hard & dry.
SERVICE- Manager was very soft spoken with good staff but it was getting tough for them to manage when they had waiting queue outside restaurant.
Overall it's a good go if you have booked movie in DELITE CINEMA, can be visited again.
It was lip smacking food after all. We ordered Mysore dosa, Rava dosa, dahi idli, vada, chowmien, etc .
My personal favourite was 'nimbu-paani' . I highly recommend it as it was so soothing and had perfect balance of lime and sugar. Mysore dosa was also great and dahi idli was also nice. It's is nice budget friendly place. That's all.
Thanks

Woooow, super delicious food, We had north and south thalis, soup, dum aloo and ... All were great, specially the north India thali. and the amount was quite a lot cause even 2 thalis were too much for 3 people, Their breads are great :)))
This place has been my favourite ever since I was a child! Situated near the legendary delite cinema in the walled city, this place is a heaven for vegetarian food lovers. Lip smacking North Indian thalis and a variety of South Indian food are one of their best dishes. But one thing which has been a constant is their giant bhatura with simple comforting chana masala! Well cooked, puffed up bhatura that is so delicious that your kids will be a fan!! Love this place to the core
(P.S they serve a giant dosa too... shhh)
Meant for vegetarians only ! Enough reason for me to visit the restaurant which is located in the busy area of Daryaganj and next to the iconic Delight Cinema.
I went there on Saturday afternoon and surprisingly, it was empty. Me and my friend ordered a regular hot coffee first and it was very ordinary actually. After having spent some time, we ordered some snacks which tasted ok. Nothing impressive about snacks but I would want to go for lunch there sometime. Had some good reviews about that from my friends.
Pricing is decent and rather cheap compared to other restaurants. Service is just fine. The place has ample sitting space.
The very good place for family dinner / lunch
I like there food so much
Not so expensive !
Near metro station - Delhi gate , gate no 3
Really recommend this place
If you are a veg food lover try Bhaja Govindam at Daryaganj where veg food is very rare
We tried their Paneer Shahi and Masala Dosa which was really good and the taste is totally amazing.
Food tastes very good, serving quantity is more than sufficient. Seating space not much. Little crowded during peak hours.
Outlet is pocket friendly.
They have amazing South Indian and North Indian Thali’s over here ! They are a must try and their service is super fast ! I hope to see you soon !
Amaazing food. Very clean ambience . Do try the poori bhaji . Value for money. Pocket friendly . The staff is courteous . The service is fast . Its a family restaurant with southern inspired decor. Must visit if in Old Delhi. !!
4.0 for food and ambience. Best South Indian food you can get in Delhi is no doubt in Sarvana Bhawan, CP outlets but this restra, no doubt comes next in line.. yummy dosas and even more delicious chutneys. Wait time for food can be bit more than required .. we ordered family dosa .. it was OMG so large.. but same time as yummy and crispy as it can be.
Decor of this little place is very good, opposite of what other South Indian restra usually offers .. its comfortable and pleasing to eye.
Don't expect much of hospitality from staff.. i guess they aren't trained that way.
Worth giving it a shot for your South Indian cravings.
Nice place for a family to visit , So my review of the place is
Ambiance : 4/5
Service :4 /5
Food : 4/5
Sitting : 4/5
Final verdict :4 /5
Come here again : Yes
Must Try :thali
My experience : Good

Not a real fan of veg food being a bong but this place has the best vegetarian food in Delhi. What I really like about this place is that it has a very pleasant ambiance, good decor and a well set menu. There speciality is North Indian and South Indian cuisine. Everything in their menu is fresh, delicious and comes with a decent portion size. It is an ideal family restaurant. My favourites would be masala dosa, chana Bhatia, Palak kofta, paneer butter masala, vishesh thali and their tea. Love this place.
Bhaja govindam is a worth for every single rupee you spend.Take it their north Indian or south Indian dish, all are just awesome and fab in taste. Value for money.
This joint was a discovery by my late father whose office was located just about 5 doors away.Been here many times, The decor and ambience are superb. The service flawless ,The food is wholesome filling and tasty. The prices too low given the present day situation. Highly recommemed for the ghaas phoose eaters as well as those who love dakshin bharatiya.
I have been here thrice and I went yesterday here too.
LOCATION : This place is adjacent to Delite cinemas.
RESERVATION : Reservation is totally recommended for this place. It always remain super crowdy so reservation will be the most suitable if you don't wanna wait for long.
SEATING SPACE : It is quite spacious so no seating issues.
SERVICE : Service is quick and prompt. You'll never be dissatisfied here.
STAFF : Staff is polite and courteous.
I went here yesterday on my mother's pre birthday dinner with my family.
WHAT I ORDERED :
SOUPS : In soups, I ordered 4 tomato soups. Tomato soup was so lipsmacking and the bread croutons in soups were so properly toasted. Loved it totally.
MAIN FOOD : I ordered 3 north indian special thalis and 1 north indian thali without onion. They serve the thali so uniquely. My Thali included one dal makhani, kadhai paneer, mix veg, raita, chawal, papad, salad and in sweetdish there was rasgulla. And we ordered butter naans and parantha's. One thali is enough to feed 2 people. Dal makhani was so creamy and properly cooked. Kadhai panner being my favourite, has never disappointed me.😍 Mix veg was delicious too.
Overall, a nice place to visit. It's reasonable also and the quality of food is superb. Highly recommended!
what to say about this place . it's 10 on 10 in everything whether its about food or about ambience . this place defines the true meaning of "food is love". from the day 1 when i had my dinner there till now , they have maintained the same food quality and provides you the best . the food is worth your money , not so costly and delicious too. i just loved the way the waiters treat you there. Special thali is famous there for obvious reasons. one Thali is more than enough for a person. Dal makhani, Kadhai paneer, Butter naan are my favourite over there. if you want to try something in daryaganj you must visit there , it's more than worth a try.
I had gone for some work to Daryaganj and it was lunch time and thought of having a quick meal here. Ordered a mini north Indian thali and it was just amazing. Dal was the best. And it wasn't mini at all with 2 large tandoori roti and rice, I struggled to finish it. Someday I will go that part Of Delhi just to eat here.

+3.5
One can partially call this a mini south India!
The dosas here are lip smacking. Paneer dosa is amazing. The thali is very fulfilling! It has uttpam, dosa, idlis and various chutneys
Restaurant interior is fine but the food is good in taste spl. Family dosa ,rava dosa and in main course u try bhajgovindam spl. Dish made with paneer but its little bit sweet mushroom masala is good ,dal makhni is also tasty.. price is reasonable so u can enjoy ur family dinner here..👍🏻👍🏻👌🏻👌🏻❤️👌🏻

Set amidst the charm of old delhi, just next to Delite cinema is Bhaj Govindam which might go unnoticed sometimes. Its a pure vegetarian restaurant that serves you right with their kesar kulfi being the best. Its a nice cozy restaurant with a beautiful decor and friendly staff.
When u decide to take challenge to finish family dosa aline..This how u land u in this place.
So my friend is regular to this place and they always order one family dosa for family for four.
So I was challenged that I could not finish the dosa.
So we ordered one family dosa along with filter coffee and masala soda.
Dosa was around 2.5ft full table size. Waters was also not sure that I would able to finish the whole dosa. So it comes with 2 bowl of masala , sambhar, coconut chutney and tomato chutney.
Dosa was crisp and brushed with lots of butter. Sambhar and chutneys were authentic and masala was mash of aloo paneer onion and was amazing.
Filter coffee was strong and fantastic and so was masala soda.
And to cut the long story short I finished the complete family dosa alone 😎😎😎😎
Simply loved the South Indian here. Rasam idli and mini thali are a must have if you want to taste authentic South Indian. This is mini chennai in itself. Love the food here.
A place not to miss for South Indian food lovers .For a minute you would feel you are somewhere in Chennai relishing these delicacies .You would need two things at hand to enjoy a meal here one a group of friends so you could try as much as possible on the menu and second patience to wait Here for at least a good 20-30 minutes on Sundays for dinner .So to start with we ordered rava idli, masala vada , masala dosa . Everything was lip smacking , then comes to coconut uttapam ( highly recommend) the taste is amazing....I am a big rasam fan and I ordered some to drink as an appetiser and they have the best tasting rasam in town with the right tanginess and spiciness. Then came the pepper sada dosa and rava masala dosa this has to be the best I have ever eaten and trust me I am no rava masala dosa fan.All this tempting food is served with tasty sambar and chutneys like tomato chutney ,and regular coconut chutney . To end the meal we ordered gulab jamun and a glass of buttermilk A place for foodies who enjoy more more and more food at a very cheap price and gallons of hospitality . Do visit it once to enjoy variations of South Indian cuisine .
A must go
So, I went Bhaja Govindam few days back with my family, 29th May 2k17 to be exact late night around 10:50.Thank God it was open. I must say its a wonderful place for vegetarians serving North Indian, South Indian, Chinese and Pizzas. So we ordered Khumb Shabnami and Bhaj Govindam Special dish with Naan and chapatis. I must say both the dishes were fabulous. Khumb Shabnami is basicall Mushrooms with gravy and their special dish is Paneer with stuffed Dry fruits. They offered us their special paid paan whuch was delicious too.
Staff was cooperative and ambience was just good😀
Bhaja Govindam Restaurant is rush point for Vegans in Old-Delhi where mostly all restaurants specility in food serves non-veg. They serves great South-Indian food too. We love their Marsala Dosa and their good service
It's a wow place. Go with your family and enjoy the delicious food along with soft retro music and decor. Service is good, prices are cheap , air conditioned .
Now coming to the food then quality and quantity offered both are good and satisfactory. Must try paneer rava dosa and onion-tomatto uttapam . North indian is also good. All in all a good place at average price.
You will get a seat free readily if you are lucky or you have to wait for your turn ;-)
If you are carving for some south indian food then head to this resturent loacted at asaf ali road , daryaganj. Nice ambience , friendly staff , service also good & the most imp food tastes excellent n does not cost you much.
South delicacies that i tried n were great.
Rava onion masala dosa
masala dosa
sambhar vada
dessert- rasmalai
other- kaju korma & paneer lababdari
Bhaja Govindam is next to delite cinema which is the key reason why it is always crowded. For Pure-vegetarians, it's a bliss. Food served is pretty delicious. Ambience is soothing accompanied with friendly services.
This place has its own charm. Everything tastes so authentic. Paneer Tikka was so tender. Bhajagovindam Spl. Dish is a must try. Unfortunately I had to wait for my turn but it was worth waiting.
Yesterday I went here with my family...
It's a nice place with decent ambience just next to the delite cinema...
Coming to the food -
The rava idly worth a 5* but the chole bhature was very below average worth not more than a 3* , but the onion rava masala dosa was very delicious with the exact crisp . It's the best dosa I have ever had... Surely worth a 5* .
The north indian thali was good except the aloo gobhi which was not upto the mark.. making the thali only worth for 4*
Overall restaurant is good specially for south indian food lovers...
The ambience reminds me of the family restaurants I used to visit as a kid with my family. Absolute family place. Also home delivery is prompt. All South and North Indian traditional items r tasty and portions are good. Price reasonable. But don't try cold coffee or shakes. Not Upto the mark
Have been visiting this place since I was a kid. Mostly after watching a movie at delite. The theatre as well as this restaurant have an old world charm. They serve pure vegetarian food, mostly home style food and sumptuous portions. The prices are pretty decent considering the portion size. We were three people dining, light eaters and a combo and thali were sumptuous enough.A must visit if you are a vegetarian. The staff is very friendly and helpful.
Located in Daryaganj near delight cinema this is the best place to eat there.
Over the years I've been here many times - the best thing is it's a pure vegetarian hotel and it offers a large variety of cuisines ranging from south Indian - dosa idli uttapam to proper north Indian food.
Service is very quick ambience is perfect.
Paper dosa. This is the best dish I have liked over here. It is absolutely crispy. I would say that one plate is more than enough to fulfill your stomach.
