Beutiful ambience good services
Excellent food quality
Must try tiger prwan sesame
Best fine dining restaurant
Its a good restaurant if you love chinese food.
A place where you will love everything.,,,
Awesomely tastiest food .. We ordered mixed meat garlic noodles, schewan chicken, Chicken pentagon, Bulls eye ..
everything was superbly delicious 😋
Service of this place is five out of five ..
To be specific I highly appreciate the extraordinary efforts which Lokesh did for us .. I pre book my table but I was late and he extended his service to us .. we had a great time.
Loved my overall experience :)
Excellent food and a very nice ambience. The staff is extremely courteous too. The freebies before the meal make one feel very welcome. A definite yes for a repeat visit.
Comfort Chinese food, Indian style. Warm service, accommodating of requests. Try the salt and pepper okra (off menu), crispy lamb and sichuam chicken.
Great taste, excellent ingredients used, good quantity served, the soups manchow is a must, chicken spring onion dimsums as well as honey chilly chicken as well as burnt garlic rice accompanied with chicken diced ginger chilly was awesome!
Mastt n a must visit place. Exp in itself. Hospitality n warmth full marks. Presentation n taste also 10/10. Will repeat At least once more when in mood of Chinese again.
Went to Larry’s China after a long time . It was a family dinner as it was my brother’s birthday. It was actually a 3.5 star experience. With a miss on interior and service, but food was excellent.
Ambience - Interiors felt bit old but that’s the beauty of this hotel , it has nostalgic feel in its air , a feel of era gone by. But still some refurbishment would be nice.
Food - excellent food like always , basic preparations done right . Just found spring rolls bit oily, but rest all was good . Have always Loved there pan fried noodles.
Service - I did found service not up to the mark , staff in restaurant was busy talking among themselves and we had to divert there attention towards us , it is not expected of Taj . But yes they were very courteous.
Overall good place to enjoy good family time .
A very peaceful place for some tasteful Chinese, but gets boring as the look and feel of the place is not very good, and also if you sit here for long , it’s starts to feel as if there’s not enough air for you to breathe .
But the most amazing thing here is the dessert , which is just mind blowing . And the name is right on point “BULL’s EYE”.
Please have the dessert if you ever visit this place .
Larry’ China in one of few restaurants which serves quality sea food in the Capital. One of the oldest, authentic Chinese restaurants suitably curated for Indian Palate. Step in to the restaurant , you will feel a colonial flavor in décor. The arched wooden carved doors, the wall decors are eye soothing and very tastefully done with no fuss.
We went on a family dinner on New Year eve, 31st Dec. late night. Started our meal with Seafood soup and Lemon Coriander clear soup. In most of the restaurants the clear soup is never clear and are unnecessarily loaded with sauces and thickner. Here I found it perfect, hot and gud one. The seafood soup was delicious too with perfect seasoning. In starter we had ordered for Jumbo Prawns with Sesame seeds. OMG!! JUMBO in right sense. The Jumbo sized prawn had been dressed and tactfully flattened and with excellent marination and fried to the perfection. I think the generous coating of tomato sauce was done by chef as per local North Indian liking. I wont say it was authentic Chinese one. But it was very very delicious. Crispy from outside and very succulent from inside. Generally prawns are so chewee that it becomes difficult to cut and handle. But this was so crispy and could be handles easily. One portion of this dish may suffice one person as a full meal. It’s a must try dish in this restaurant. Next was the the drunken lobster. The meat of the lobster was nicely cooked with spices brought beautiful explosion of flavours and excellent plating. Thumps up to Chef. Dimsums and suimai are the things which we never fail to order while having Chinese food. Unfortunately the dimsums were not that great. It had thick shell and it is not served with any special dip with it. Not left with big appetite so ordered mixed meat noodles only in main course. Which was good if not the best. The grand finale was with Hot chocolate with icecream. It was yumm and showstopper.
Beside the good food the soulful singing of one man band is just like icing on the cake. From stepping in. Kim chi to the desserts , we thoroughly enjoyed the evening. Bit of dancing with the countdown of the New Year(they dont have separate dance floor in this restaurant) , enjoyed every bit of the moment. Thanks to the staff who attended us warmly, to the Chef for preparing soulful food for us and to the live singer, forgot his name, for entertaining with melodies of 70’s - 80’s.
Trying to add a personal touch to my other wise regular order of shredded lamb with sticky rice when I asked the chef to add a hint of lemon grass to the rice cake , I was served the dish just as I wanted. Accompanied with Stella Beers the starters were also a total delight.
Fit for those evening dates when you can go on digging your pockets.
Yumm food, great service, good portions!!! Had a hearty meal!!!
Wonton soup is very good.. just loved it.. though we ordered 1 by 2 but both the bowls were full !!! That's TAJ !!!
Will be back to try some more
Despite being located far from the sea, Delhi, the national and, if I may say, the food capital of our country, has a couple of restaurants who excel in serving quality fare from the sea. And one such restaurant that I recently came across was Larry's China at Taj Ambassador.
Seeped in colonial essence, the restaurant exudes old world charm and is marked by traditional door arches, delicate figurines and fuss-free interiors. Bagging warmth and vibrancy, Larry's China serves unpretentious and superlative Chinese food that'll surely leave you aching for more. And if you're a seafood lover like me, then you're in for a treat!
The ongoing Seafood Festival at Larry's China will surely satiate your cravings and offers something for every palate (think fish, lobster, calamari, prawns and crabs). The menu, available till 9th December offers an eclectic range of soups, appetisers and mains, some of which are so good that you just cannot afford to miss.
Whet your appetite with the elegant fish dumpling and bok choy soup or dig into the heartwarming bowl of pink salmon and black mushroom soup. If you'd like to have something on the higher Scoville scale, then the king prawns hunan style with bird eye chilli should be your pick. The peppery nuggets of lobster tossed in Sichuan sauce had an explosion of flavours that was perfect for my Indian palate. But if I had to pick one appetiser, the perfectly cooked honey chilli calamari would be the undisputed winner.
The whole steamed red snapper with green scallions in black bean sauce is the main that I'd bet my money on. Succulent fish meat, falling off the bone, doused in the sticky bean sauce, the tartness of which was well balanced by the fresh green scallions, making it a very well balanced dish overall. Though apt for pairing with mains, the seafood spicy garlic noodles are good enough to be had by themselves, without any sauce or curry.
Absolutely loved the place. Went here for dinner with my family and staff was really excellent all the time. But what I loved the most was the food. Food was delicious. Ambience has a very cozy vibe with some light soothing music playing in the background. Would definitely visit again.
The best part about Larry's China is that the staff here is amongst the best and though they have been here for ages, they still are very courteous and eager to satisfy your taste buds the way you want them. Almost always the chef comes out of kitchen and interacts with customers and asks them how they will like a dish done or if they want something out of the menu. I really like their Veg dimsums, Salt and pepper is amazing and with right mix of spices, veggies, mushrooms etc, the Crispy corn and babycorn is worth trying too. The salad which they serve with the food is excellent.
A really quite and nice place to have a fine dine experience. The staff is really helpful and polite. Overall the food is pretty nice as well
The food is fantastic. The staff is very nice and welcoming. The music is very nice. The chef does a great job in making the mouthwatering food. The jumbo prawns is a dish which must be tried. After enjoying a great meal for desert the bulls eye with ice cream is fantastic. Lovely place in Delhi for Chinese cuisine
Being a Taj restaurant it has its own charm. The food is good and service is very hospitable. It tends to be crowded in late evening so go early.
Being in a star hotel the rates are on a higher side.
It is a nice cozy place. Air conditioning was very very effective and food was fabulous. It had been a great visit with fast service and adequate quantities in servings.
I simply adore on its JUMBO Fried Prawns (Must Try)... m sure once you order it; you would know wht JUMBO is... Its accurately crisp from outside & succulent from inside. The Basics like Egg Fried Rice is one of a kind and is wow to feed with.
Do try their Chicken Pentagon for starters which is on Med Spicy notes. However; Schiaun / Kung Pao is carefully prepared concentrating on tastes to enable us to come again & again.

One of the best Chinese restaurant in the town. Great food , ambience and Service. menu pricing is done well. a true colonial style reaturant with a charm of old world hospitality. Was there on 30th.
Its a small restaurant in a boutique hotel by taj.. excellent service, very helpful staff.. ambience is cool with gud live music.. we had ordered chicken wonton soup nd manchow soup, which were ok, nothing great nd could b given a miss..pan fried vegetable noodles had lots of greens but no pakchoy or black mushrooms.. Mongolian chicken was gud.. the chicken nd egg fried rice was also gud with plenty of chicken.. the best part is the jasmine tea they serve nd the fortune cookie at the end of the meal, which sadly few restaurants nowadays do..
Loved their crispy spinach. Great Chinese and awesome ambience. The place was not overcrowded which helped us relax and enjoy. A must visit place for Chinese
To start with the positives the restaurant has a cozy ambience with mood lighting and tastefully done decor. They also have a singer who plays the piano and performs great hits from the 80s but when it comes to the food, it's a bit of a miss for me. I tired their Singapore noodles, golden fried prawns, kung pao prawns and Mangolian chicken. The food was served hot and the staff was polite. The food looked fresh and appealing but did not live up to the expectations I had from TajVivanta. All in all I can say that there are better places in Delhi for oriental food at this price.
An honest review, w.r.t to our and others ethnicity.
(offence none to be taken, nor to be given).
As a visitor, i would't know the name of chinese dish, may be due to lack of that cultural gap or any reason thereof.
I ordered a dish called shiitake something2, a mix vegetable dish which i am.unable to recall and steamed rice, portions of each dish were big enough for 3 people, but the taste was disappointing, although the a la carte had proper content explanation, but the gentlemen was courteous enough to explain the contents too, but as an indian without comparing to a genre dish an understanding would fail,.retrospectively, speaking that to order what to eat, we need to imagine what it tastes like while.comparing other tastes in mind.
More relative comparison of chinese dish is needed.
Thank you vivanta great experience. (not sarcastic at all)
Loved the food and the hospitality by the team.
Must order: Chilly Garlic Noodles and Sweet corn soup.
One of the few Chinese dine-outs that have variety of vegetarian options.
Set deep inside the low-slung Ambassador Hotel by Khan Market, Larry's China has great word-of-mouth for Indian Chinese food. The small restaurant has a wide even if very standard Chinese menu for India, attentive and hovering wait staff, quick turnaround, bar and even a solitary Lounge singer belting out 60s and 70s hit songs.
The food itself was average with some very weak dimsum. The portions are decent, the price is high and is a good place for enjoyable meal that is high on conversations and ok on taste.
had gone there after a long time. We had our family dinner of 12 members. We are vegetarians so we ordered only veg and we enjoyed it. Honey Chilli lotus stem is what I liked the most and even Hakka noodles were good
It's a very well known Chinese restaurant.
Its famous for its Chinese food.
This place is decorated in classical style.
We were happy to have selected this place among-st all the possible options. We had ordered from the varied options from starters & main course. Authentic Chinese cuisine served with exceptional service.
A perfect place to enjoy company of family over a nice meal.
Went after aeons to this place for dinner... Have to say the food here is still amazing... Ordered chicken manchow n chicken lemon coriander soup both good and chicken pentagon as a starter, again good ..Main course ordered larrys tiger sesame prawns-amazing... Honey chilli Chicken, kung pao chicken, Sichuan chicken, chicken pan fried noodles and veg fried rice were very very good... Throughly enjoyed my meal...highlight for me is always the fortune cookie, not too many restaurants serve it now, they are one of the very few... The staff is as usual very nice, courteous n helpful !!
Had a great experience last nite.. Thank you !!
Been visiting this place since a long time now.
Absolutely LOVE the food here.
Maintained quality since forever & good service.
Here's a list of my favourite starters one must try..
Thaichin Chicken
corncakes
Chicken sal& pepper
lotus stem honey chilly
Very small but tastefully done up restaurant. The service is decent. The food is ok to good. The restaurant has seen better days in the past. On this visit we ordered salt and pepper corn (4.5/5), crispy konjee lanmb (4/5), chicken dimsums (2.5/5), singapore noodles (3.5/5), black pepper chicken (4/5) and rice. Overall a decent experience.
Very good place to spend a good time. We have enjoyed alot . very courtious staff, very good ambience, music was awesome. we'll visit again .
Great as always! Best chinese food in delhi. The ambience doesn't live up to the standards of Taj, but it's unique in its own way. Main course in Oyster sauce is the best.
So it was a random plan to visit this place for lunch on a lazy afternoon and I am glad that we went here. I will very briefly list down my experience:
Ambience - 5 on 5
Service - 4.5 on 5
Music - 5 on 5
Food - 3.7 on 5
The Mint shots for welcome need a special mention as they were very refreshing. Asian greens is a must try for vegetarians. Will definitely visit again. :)
It's like any other upmarket Chinese restaurant in town. Nothing is extraordinary and food is quite standard. Service and ambience is nice and staff is very friendly. It's on the expensive side though...
Visited this place today for lunch. Its a small place located in a charming boutique hotel with rustic interiors.
Coming to the food, the starters were good. Both Crispy Lotus Stem and Chicken Pentagon were nice. The main course lacked the punch you look for in eateries like these. Kung Pao Chicken was passe while Sichuan Chicken was too spicy for the flavors to be distinctively felt. I liked the Date Pancake for dessert.
Overall, I feel there is a lot to improve upon.
Ambiance
Service
Food
Presentation
All the way excellent.
Besides hanging out at the bar over a couple of BIRA lagers which were very nice.
Larry's China is a very authentic Chinese restaurant in Ambassador Taj Vivanta.
Interior and ambiance is a mix of a fine dinning with touches of Chinese architecture.
Service and presentation is no less than what a 5 star hotel would offer.
Staff was very courteous and well trained, service was always with a smile. 10/10
Before the dinner was served, our table was set with hot plates to keep up with foods temperature.
We ordered mix vegetables in sachuan sauce
Chilly garlic noodles
Bully's eye for dessert
Mix veg was a little too spicy yet delicious
Noodles were quiet nice
Bulls eye was good although over hyped by friends
Jasmine tea was quiet relaxing.
All in all a must visit for authentic Chinese
Neat place with an elegant charm. The food was all right, had better expectations and the prices were high in accordance to the food. The service was prompt and servers polite. Overall once in a blue moon kind of a place..
I would give it 3.5 sufficient ambience fab food.. Specially their clear soup and absolute maincourse what charms the most is the light live music in background and great choice of songs
Really nice food and a hospitable atmosphere.
The staff is really nice.
The sesame prawn is a must try.
Or the honey chicken is also nice.
Its a nice small homely restaurant and a must visit
I am a huge fan of Chinese food and hop down to everywhere and anywhere that serves the Chinese cuisines and this particular place was recommended by my father itself who is even bigger fan of the Chinese food. So I accompanied my father this time he planned to visit this restaurant and I have to say the place was just awesome and really very cool and what to say about the ambience. It was an amazing experience that I cherished fully and the food was equally delicious and wholesome (We had black bean spicy noodles and sweet and sour vegetables). Just visit the place without any biases and you will not be disappointed at all.
It's an amazing restaurant, very Fine quality chicken and fantastic service. Must recommended. Cheff was concerned about our taste and likings. He prepared our dish what we exactly wanted
Went for dinner yesterday with family. The place is one of the restaurants at Taj Vivanta-Ambassador.I ordered a shredded lamb in garlic sauce which was good.Besides that i had some noodles and chicken, both of which were good. The service was fast and good.We always had someone to attend to us.Only nothing much with the decor. Also the space is a bit congested.Overall it was good.
Had just the garlic noodles and the fish with pakchoy in black bean sauce. I won't say it was not good but being a taj restaurant, really thought it would be better. Especially with the taj prices, one would expect it to be more memorable.
Ah, Just Superb. The service is excellent.
The food just makes your mouth salivate.
This place has the best sticky rice ever !!
The ambience is great. And the live musician singing old classics just makes you transit to heaven.
Loved the fortune cookies that are served at the end ! :D
Just the place to be !
Chinese restaurent in taj. Expectations are quite high. Service is good as expected. Very simple decor. Neat. The food has never tantalised my taste buds here. Dimsums / sea food and other food is just about average. Too many good options around the area. Surprising because with taj expertise one would expect much better.

+3.5
i would actually rate this place btw 3.5 & 4, but since zomato doesn't give the option, its 3.5
we went here for sunday dinner and ordered the following items:
Larry's tiger sesame prawns - u have to see the size, its massive. nice & crispy (a lil too crispy perhaps) and perfect to share in a group
lotus stem honey chilli - crisp & tasty
chicken honey chilli
chicken manchow soup
chicken in ginger garlic sauce
veg hakka noodles
veg fried rice
overall i liked the meal, and more so the staff - who were very accommodating with our requests with regards to level of spices. probably the next time, i would look to try some other items on the menu
Went to Larrys China for a lunch with girls as we wanted to avoid very crowded places on a Saturday in Khan market . It's a small Chinese kitchen by Taj Vivanta where you can enjoy conversations over a good Chinese meal. Ordered lotus stem honey chilli, crispy chilli baby corn and vegetable dimsums for starters . Vegetarian dimsums were nice and crispy honey chilli was fried crisp tangy sweet and spicy . Although I would love to see more variety in vegetarian dimsums .They regularly serve green teas in between the courses to prepare you for the next course . For main course we ordered fresh green vegetables in burnt garlic sauce , water chestnut pok Choy in black bean sauce which was hands down very nice . Now as for the overall taste and presentation goes , it's good . Basically your expectations will be met as far as the food is concerned . Staff is courteous and polite and serves well . The taste of food leans towards indo Chinese of course . Spot on . The only reason I give it a 3.5 is that the ambience is pretty dull . The decor is too simple and basic and the over all woww factor in the ambience is missing . Otherwise everything else is 👍. Good if u want to avoid crowd or have a meeting / discussion over a meal . And yes they end your meal with a fortune cookie !! It's always fun to break open one and see wats in store !! 😊
Chinese has been one my favorite cuisines since my school days, and in Delhi Taj Vivanta has really blown me away with their exquisite cuisines. Well, If I have to compliment on something specific then I would definitely give a 10/10 for their starters.
Pan fried chili fish and chicken pentagon are just pure heaven. Can't ask for anything better. Keep it up guys.
If you are fond of Chinese cuisine, it's another good option in Khan mkt area. The food isn't exactly authentic Chinese but more of an Indo-Chinese cuisine with a spicy tinge. Its good never the less.
On last visit, ordered dimsums, fried prawns, chicken hot & sour soup,Chilli garlic noodles & a couple of chicken gravies to top up over noodles. The taste of the food & presentation was spot on, but the interiors & ambience overall were quite dull and lacked a royal appeal that you generally expect fm Taj.
Concluded our meal with a dessert called Bulls eye which was just fantastic.
Staff was very warm & courteous and quite helpful in suggesting us dishes as per our taste.
Overall, a nice place to enjoy Pan-Asian cuisine.
Larry's China is famous for its Chinese food, good live singer and good ambience. Location is situated at the location of Ambassador Hotel in fact it is written on their front signage as well. Food was pretty good. One of the best place for having Chinese food prepared in a authentic way. Best part was Chef (on request) himself came to know your likings or any other variations which you would like to have. Singer was too good and sang fantastically. We have ordered seafood soup. lobster in five spices, Larry's tiger sesame prawns and chicken honey chilli as a starter. Soup was excellent. Tiger prawns were outstanding and another restaurants must see the size of the prawns. Alongwith Virgin Marry mocktail, it was divine. Excellent and must try dish. Lobster was okay and chicken was crispy and yummy. In main course we have ordered Hakka noodles, crispy whole pomfret with black pepper sauce and chicken in Schezwan Sauce. We cherished a very good experience of Chinese food over here. Recommended place for Chinese food. No space left for desserts.
Food quality: 4.5/5.0
Food quantity: 4.5/5.0
Ambience: 4.5/5.0
Staff and service: 5.0/5.0
Value for money: 4.5/5.0
This would be my first ever review, generally I am too lazy to go ahead & type the experience I have at restaurants but I felt extremely compelled to write for this specific visit to Larry’s Kitchen.
So we had gone to celebrate a cousin’s birthday here & we were extremely happy to have selected this place amongst all the possible options. First things first, there is ample parking space, the iconic building gives you a classical feeling, as the restaurant is quite differently designed from the present day modern restaurants, there is live music playing at all times, not too loud, beautifully calm music to soothe your ears & low enough to make conversation with friends & family unlike everywhere else.
Coming to the food, we had ordered from the varied options from starters, main course & desserts. The complete stand outs from each of these for us was Lotus steam honey chilli, which was an absolute favorite amongst the vegetarian lot & the Larry’s tiger sesame prawns had stunned the meat lovers in the group. Topped to perfection both the dishes were seasoned well & presented beautifully meeting the eye as well as the heart. Finishing the beautiful meal with Bull’s eye & Caramelized Toffee Banana & apples, each one of us were very content.
The manager & the staff were very helpful & cordial in helping us decide and accommodating our needs.
Definitely going back again very soon!
This place is nested inside the ambassador hotel, one of 100 iconic building of New Delhi. Unlike modern Restaurants, this place is decorated in classical style. There is also a live music and from the cursory look at other patrons you can easily come to conclusion that it is preferred place for family dinner. We went for a quick dinner. Food was good. We started with crispy spinach and Chinese sautéed green. Main course was some kind of veg noodle (do not remember the exact name) . Food was delicious . Service was excellent. I would recommend this place. Ample parking outside is another positive .
An all time favourite in Delhi while craving Chinese. Have been visiting this place while in delhi over a period of more than 15 years and the food and service has always been good.
Larry's China is one of the favorite restaurants in my family for Chinese food in New Delhi. The restaurant has some amazing, lip smacking selection of authentic Chinese cuisine served with exceptional service. No glass or plate is ever empty for long. The unlimited helpings of Jasmine tea adds to the great dining experience at this restaurant. The live music is noteworthy as well. The ambience or decor could improve still.

One of the best restaurants for Chinese food ????. The ambience of the restaurant was good. The service was good.
You got to reserve a table before you go as the restaurant cannot accommodate a lot of people together.
We have been to this place for a dinner on my wife's b'day. Loved this place to the core. Quite a romantic place to be..
A place to have good authentic Chinese food...
Taj, only name is more than sufficient to elaborate the astounding ambiance and service..
Anything less than 10 on 10 would be demeaning both: Taj Vivanta and the review..
Visited this old charm Restuarant for my wedding anniversary earlier today. The menu reads very well, particularly with the (more than) century old pics (belonging to an American named Larry). The food was fantabulous - dimsums, chicken pepper salt, corn cakes, burnt garlic rice, and some nice sauces and veggies. Portions are US-sized, so would advise one to be mindful while ordering. Courteous and smiling staff. Would definitely want to go back to try out more.
It was good, though very Indian-Chinese. So if you're looking for authenticity this is not the place to go. But whatever they whipped up was delicious. The service was good, as is usual in Taj, but the atmosphere? Gah. There was this very loud live singer with a synthesiser singing cheesy American songs which after a bit really got on my nerves. I was invited by someone so I didn't get to foot (or even peek at) the bill, but I expect it was five-star-priced. Which in my opinion is not value for money. There are more accessible and better Chinese places out there in Delhi.
If you're looking for a hasty, typical chinese meal then look somewhere else. This restaurant stands for good quality food served with a warmth not found in other places. The service is not slow by any stretch nor is the food rushed. Yet its best enjoyed when savoured slowly. This restaurant also has a good wine selection on offer. All in all, a good place to enjoy company of family over a nice meal... served with warmth and sincerity.
A good restaurant which to my surprise in a couple of my visits stays empty even after the taj label.
It's menu alsi is pretty similar to house of ming and now coming to review the food.
The complimentary kimchi salad here is the best you have in the city I feel embarrassed at times but I always make a request to send one more helping.
The kung pao prawns were really good and fresh
Ginger chicken was different I would not call it good.
Schewan chicken was delightful
Bulls eye for desert finished the evening
This is one of the few upmarket restaurants which serves really good food excellent service and reasonable prices
Good ambiance..Authentic Chinese Food...Centrally located..Wish they offered Alcohol as icing on cake..
Chinese being my favourite cuisine, this was one place I loved going to. Larrys china surpassed all my expectations. What great food accompanied with such fabulous music.great salads welcome you with soothing green tea.the menu is very tempting.must try are the jumbo prawns .super courteous staff , very polite.
Awesome food, good quantity, Quiet and well services - The price for two can be accommodated in 1200 Rs. (without drinks) if ordered well
Located in the surroundings of the Taj Vivanta clearly make you feel that one is in Lutyens Delhi.
You enter the Hotel, and you a welcomed by a warm and elegant ambiance, with a welcoming feeling.
If you wish to eat good Chinese food, this is the place to visit.
From Crispy Spinach to Chicken Drumsticks for appetizers, with Manchow or Hot & Sour soup.... followed by Chicken in Black Bean Sauce with Chilli Garlic Noodles is my favourite order.
Ending any meal at the Vivanta with a Bulls Eye (its a moist chocolate cake served with vanilla ice cream) has become a tradition.
All in All a must visit.
An authentic Chinese restaurant with a very average ambience , Larry's China stands out not by the food but by the attitude with which it treats its guests. Trying to add a personal touch to my other wise regular order of shredded lamb with sticky rice when I asked the chef to add a hint of lemon grass to the rice cake , I was served the dish just as I wanted. Accompanied with Stella Beers the starters were also a total delight.
Fit for those evening dates when you can go on digging your pockets . ;)
Larry's is a good place to have Chinese food that is not at all authentic but Indochinese... They have extremely courteous staff & can also get dishes prepared accd to your taste. King pao, shredded lamb is must try. Interiors are old style.
If I was ever asked which is the one cuisine you can have everyday, My answer would have been Chinese. This was the first restaurant which made me love the beautiful and harmonious cuisine of China.
Though the restaurant is not the biggest the decor really intrigues your mind with the small archways with a bamboo roof, the old ming dynasty paintings and to top it off there is a live performance of old english songs.
The first complementary snack we get is a Korean Kimchi and pickled cucumber. The Kimchi is a really good way to start your meal as it just has the right amount of heat to get the juices in your mouth running for the rest of the dishes. If one was to order starters then I would recommend the Tiger Prawn. The tiger prawn in Larry's is a dish unique to only this restaurant. The prawns are cooked in a sesame base thick masala which coats the prawn. I one does not enjoy the spice too much then they could order the ever fresh Golden fried prawn which is served with a garlic sauce on the side.
The main course offers some of the best dishes like the Lobster which you can ask for to be served in any gray but I prefer mine dry so I had the Lobster in salt and pepper which really was perfectly cooked and had a little spice which elevated it to a whole new level. For those who love chicken, the sichuan does stand out. One would think that any Chinese restaurant can serve good sichuan chicken but once you do try the dish in Larry's you will be able to tell the difference yourself. I Love Lamb more than any other meat and would not like just any odd dish. The crispy honey lamb that the restaurant serves is for me the best lamb in town. I just wish the portion that is served would have been a little bigger, but then this is a problem with any big hotel in any corner of the world.
The fried rice the noodle or the chop suey are all wonderful and a restaurant of this stature just does not make a mistake in this component of the meal.
If one is left with any more space then Date Pancake with Ice Cream is a pleasant end to a great meal.
All said and done this is the best Chinese restaurant in town. It is not somewhere a person would go to once a week as it is on the higher side of the payroll.
This restaurant is very close to me as this is the place where my grandfather always took us to when we were in mood for a good Chinese food.
Highly Recommended
Food:5/5
Service 5/5
Ambience:4/5
Very chineese yummy food, nice attentive staff, would surely visit more often
Larry's was my choice, when I wanted to take my parents for a typical Chinese dinner with any other south East Asian twist. I had never read of it before or ever recommended by a friend but discovered it by chance while waiting outside my old time favorite YBR. The ambience was very old time club dining types, simple, minimal and cosy. I made a reservation in advance just to avoid any waiting time. I would begin with the staff: very cooperative, alert and open to opinions unlike the usual defensive ones that we usually have. The fooooooodddd was so yummy....that's the right word.... It was as Chinese as one would want and delicious. Ordered their golden fried prawns and Larry's pepper n salt chicken for starters. Then we ordered smoked lamb and ginger n chilli chicken for main course. The service was faster than any I have recently been to and taste and quantity were very good. Would love to visit Larry's China more often with family. And also recommend for simple Chinese food to all Chinese lovers. Had a great time!!!
Went to this place on new years eve and considering the fact it was pretty empty.
Firstly, the best thing was their food. Had Vegetables in hot garlic sauce and chilly garlic noodles and veg fried rice. Everything was amazing and yes it had a little bit of an Indian taste and was spicy. Definitely yummy.
The staff was extremely helpful and served us well, making the dish according to our choice, being a little different from the menu.
The ambiance is a total bummer. Being situated at Taj Vivanta, you'd expect it to have a royal decor, but its rather shabby. The restaurant in small and the corridor leading to the restaurant looks like one of those tiny little corridors. Since it is priced at power to other 5 star hotels, it definitely doesn't impress you. I hope they do something about the interiors.
Food was well prepared; vegetable were crisp and fresh. Chef Joshi shared some of his tips quite liberally and the value for money was certainly above average.
Brilliant prawns. Good staff. Needs a bit more quality.
Although a bit expensive (I mean what else can u expect? It is in the Taj! ), it was easily the best chinese in Delhi.
The food was of amazing quality and even though the taste wasn't chinjabi, it was still really tasty. Oh, and awesome ambience!
The best Chinese I've had in Delhi. The sesame prawns are o die for! I was floored by their service.
Good chinese food..very good taste..
2 reviews to Larry's China, must be a joke.
With just few steps away from YBR Larry's China is well located and can not be missed by the glamorous Delhi.
Just 2 reviews is an understatement for this property.
Love the salds that they drop in Complimentary when u dine there.
Live Music is apt for the place.....Shredded Lamb is wow.....server are quite attentive and friendly....
Overall a great experience everytime I go there.
Surprisingly very less people reviewed this amazingly nice Chinese Place. This place is an all time favorite for the Chinese food along with good service; reasonably good on prices based on humungus quantities for all servings. It makes you feel special almost all the time with the chef visiting for reviews.
Its private area is a place where you can lay back & enjoy your food comfortable due sofas for seating.
The Free Kimchi & Pickle Salad iz well prepared for everyones taste.

Went to this restaurant for the first time with my family for dinner. The ambience & the food is excellent and so are the portion sizes. Usually I don't like black bean preparations at other restaurants, but here it was mind blowing. Will surely visit the place again.
First things first, I was quite surprised when I saw that Larry's China had one of the least reviews. For me it is one of the better restaurants when it comes to service and good Chinese food which is not authentic Chinese but what many people like.
I am a regular here and love the restaurants laid back setting. It has been the same for a while and has a sort of old charm to it. The place is small but comfortable and has 2 seating areas and I prefer to sit inside as the place has comfy sofas. There are Chinese paintings around and nice wallpapers on the walls. Sometimes there is a live singer who has excellent voice and sings old English classics.
Spring rolls are nice too. I often just try a lot of their starters as I find them the best but the main course is good too. Vegetables n Szechuan sauce, black bean with Fried rice is a good combination worth trying. Column shows that they don't have a bar but they do have a good bar menu too.
If you want to try a restaurant with nice elegant setting, good service, good Chinjabi(Chinese Punjabi) food which honestly we all do like a bit then this is a good place to visit for sure.
the food at larry's is outstanding. I simply love the lotus steam here. I have been going to larries since I was probably 10 years old. have always come out delighted. amazing food in an amazing hotel. I love ambassador.

Mr.Navraj and Ms. Meghna were very polite. The meal was delicious. The Chef was down to earth and greeted us . It was a great experience. Much recommended !
My favourite Chinese restaurant ....very well mannered people and absolutely delicious and well balanced food.
This is a quiet Chinese restaurant inside the Ambassador Hotel. The food is reasonably good, and service is very friendly. We loved their Manchia soup, Kung Pao vegetables and burnt garlic fried rice.
They have a surprisingly good live musician on weekends who croons old American pop songs.
Food is good and helpings are reasonably better than other places.
Its overpriced, unless you have any offer, its not worth the visit.
Authentic Chinese for sure! This place will.never disappoint. Jumbo prawns are really JUMBO! The decor, th ambience, the food, the service, the hospitality - top notch! Cheers 🍻

Even got a free dessert from the chef which was delicious!!
Larry's China restaurant serves some awesome food under traditional chinese environ and with good table service. An excellent trip which combined with zamato pro 25% bill discount is value for money !
Quiet place. Reasonable ambience. Food was good but on costlier side. We paid the food bill of ₹8000. Considering there were five of us, it was ok but if we had to cook the same at home we would have spent close to ₹500. Service was good and so was crooner.
Incredible cafe with delicious food and amazing surroundings

If you are in delhi, you must visit the "Larrys".This is one of the most authentic chinese restaurant operated by the THE TAJ GROUP. The restaurant is located inside TAJ AMBASSADOR HOTEL. I have been visiting this place for the last 20 years . The Hospitality is par excellence. The ambience is calm and soothing. On a weekend, booking is a must. Its totally packed.Try the manchow soup, dimsums, vegetables in almond sauce. The quality is maintained since its establishment.
Loved the food and environment here. Very peaceful and calm.
Larry’s China, a tongue-teasing Chinese restaurant, named after to Larry Carrington Goodrich, an American Born but groomed in China whose photography is an unusual collection of all contours of China’s life and style, a befitting tribute to a photographer. A 26-year-old- food joint has many things to share.. while a grand maa reverberate her dating story, a young man remembers his b’day celebration, a few employees siblings are the leading the legacy of hospitality… Nostalgic IPR... Could a restaurant be a source to write a screenplay? Located in the soul of the capital, surrounded by top land marks, it serves Lunch and Dinner and pre-boking is advisable.
Well, silky Tofu with cashew nuts, dry red chilli Lotus stern honey, larry's Tiger sesame on prawns glued me in the seat for more than 2 hours. While sipping vegetable hot and sour soup, an alternative to alcohol for those who want an appetizer. The main course- seafood, poultry, lamb, pork and fibre food- are designed – one on one basis.. true, try and you will not be disappointed.. well-groomed staff from entry-exit will gon pamper you while seasoned Chef Sanjeev Chopra supported by Inderpal Singh Bedi food & beverage manager, Tarun, Naresh, of course, the whole team were trained by Vikas Primoo General Manager of this property… If you want Paisa Vasool( encash your every penny) inevitably you have to speak to the chef of the day to enjoy your dining experience…don’t go by menu.
One for the Road could be date pancake a vegetable delicacy.. Dining in Delhi is okay.. Dining in Larry’s China is an expedition…Go and explore your palate capability…
