It’s a glorious day, folks, because I’ve discovered a hidden gem in the culinary landscape — the new Indian cocktail bar by the Olive group in partnership with Chef Sujan S — where the smallest detailing from the ceiling artwork to the flamboyant wall art… from the fine crockery to cocktails served in porcelain tea cups… from a modern menu inspired by regional cuisine to cocktails made with premium alcohol and handcrafted using seasonal ingredients by mixologist Nitin Tewari! It may be named Ek Bar… but it will lure you to come back bar-bar! Okay I dont rave about a cocktail bar so much… so it must have left me with a lasting impression!
Having heard so much about Ek Bar within days of its opening, I was thrilled when I was invited by my friend Niharica for cocktails and snacks. The first thing that caught my eye was the wall mascot above the table reserved for us — an elephant in aviators! The creativity doesn't stop there: the vintage-chic interiors is a kaleidoscope of rose-toned colours and textures. A split-level property, there’s a pink jaali staircase winding towards the roof overlooking Moolchand: this will surely be packed on winter evenings!! The server brought us menus once we were seated and I was floored! The bar menu winks at modern-day cocktail culture where we all want something different. Four large playing cards—Ekka, Badshah, Begum and Gulam—have cocktails printed on them, mostly inspired by Indian history. So while "The Royal Indian Punch” is crafted with whiskey, fermented kahwa tea, grapefruit and spices served in a tea cup, with ginger giving the illusion of tea, the story goes that the word "punch" actually came from the Sankrit term “panch" and was originally an Indian cocktail enjoyed by aristocrats during the British Raj. Women, in those days, drank alcohol in teacups to avoid being judged and that's how "high-tea" was born—hence the teapot and cups!! Like I said before… their spiralling success lies in the intensive research and fine detailing. Most cocktails have stories which the mixologist is happy to share! For example "Sher Singh" is a tribute to Tipu Sultan — vodka with curry leaves, egg white, green apple and date syrup! My favourite? "Murabba Mule" — a potent flavourful mix of Vodka, Aam Ka Murabba and Ginger Beer served in a rustic copper mug. Slurp!
Over to the snacks now! "It took me eight months to create the dishes on this menu" Sujan explained as I perused it. "Each and every item on the menu is Indian but you will not find these creative mix of ingredients, textures and presentation anyplace else. My brother and I intensively researched it and he is now heading the kitchen. It is better to take that extra time to open—but when we open it—it should be as we had envisaged it.” It sure is! Dinner begins with a seafood platter served on a brass thali packed with squid rawa fry, mud crab, Bombay duck cakes, the most sumptuous prawn sausages and moreish sole tikkas. Off-the-hook fresh and flavourful, it satiated the sea-foodie in me, and ensured I would be back again… and again! Up next was the non-vegetarian thali with a melt-in-the-mouth lamb galouti hot dog, Goan chorizo scotch eggs topped with chopped onion, duck pattice and chicken tikka sausage. A carnivores delight! Sujan suggested we must try his signature dish "Ek Bar—Granola" — dahi bhalla sorbet served with a tube of jhalmuri, tamarind gel and avocado. Closing my eyes, I was back in time in Calcutta, where jhaal muri was a must with tea. To have it as an adult years later in its modern avatar was mystifying. Had I not been stuffed I would have requested for seconds! And he saved the best for the last — the most deliciously fresh tawa-fried red snapper on a bed of popcorn khichri. I would have never guessed it was popcorn had the chef not revealed the ingredients! Another must-have!! Though we were stuffed, we did not have the heart to leave without dessert, and after much indecision, we ordered Banana Tarte Tatin, caramelised with jaggery and served with vanilla ice-cream. What can I say? It was heaven in a dessert bowl!
Two hours later as I pen this review… I feel the spiralling success of Ek Bar does lie in its creative interiors, cocktails and bar snacks. but it also lies in the one ingredient thats blended into everything there — passion. Quick efficient service, friendly management eager to describe the tale behind each cocktail or dish we ordered, and a fabulous central location are a bonus. At the moment its open only post 6:30 p.m. so do be sure to drop in one evening — iIknow I will! There are still some real tempting cocktails to indulge in! Cheers! (76.10.2015)
I’m a regular at this bar anyway and love its cocktails, food and chatting with the friendly staff - but the current north east pop up menu is tremendous.
The momos and pork are delicious, and the chicken wings are spicy as high hell but will leave you wanting more once you’ve cooled off!
Great idea, well executed by Chef Tanisha and the crew. More!
The food was fabulous. Anyone who goes and just drinks misses out on some super delicious food. But it is Ek Bar so deliciously washed down with yummy cocktails and the service is impeccable. Definitely a go-to place in Delhi.
Amazing food! Can't comment on the cocktails as I don't drink alcohol. But the food is some of the best I've had. Even the mocktails were awesome.
The service 👍🏼 👍🏼
Loved the ambience and of course the food. Everything was modern and cool, from the paintings and the fixtures to the cocktails and the menu.
Ambience service cocktail food. All Fabulous....
Must go place
Impressive presentation- both cocktails and food. Special stars for the music and decor.
Loved everything about the place.. Cool ambience and awesome food make you feel visit again and again..
Great venue, intimate and nicely located. More dance music please !
Simply wow. Outstanding vibes. Niche and like minded gathering. Professional hospitality. Hats off
Enjoyed the cocktails. The stories behind it are crazy. The food is just as good
Thats dope and high if you are not high come and grab special coktails made for you and get fuck.high
One of the best cocktail bar in delhi... Ek barrs cocktails have been impeccable... Great ambince and lighting effect... Seriously loved it... Must try... Pumpkin salad, chickpea sundal starter, mutton sukkha, and the best prawn mushroom dish with soi..... Best place for party 🎉
The place is buzzing with energy. The ambience is very nice, perfectly, softly lit. The food was great. It is interesting to see such good modern Indian cuisine for a change. The cocktails are also very interesting. The only reason for deducting one star is the service which was slower than expected. Although it was a weekend when I went, yet you would expect perfect service from otherwise a perfect place.
What I like? The location, parking assistance, ambiance, choice of music that's there but not loud enough to drown your conversations, the special cocktails and the placement of tables that give individual privacy and an impression of space. The food is decent. We ordered Malabar parantha with coastal pink pepper mutton fry, Kerala fried chicken, Ek Bar's tandoori chicken, and bacon and Egg Hopper. The parantha and mutton were good. The Egg Hopper had a strip of bacon on it that was an unnecessary mismatch. The bacon did not go with either the hopper or the accompanying gravy and I've had better hoppers in Sri Lanka.
So, will I return? Yes, doosri bar for their Beeda tonic and the Jadugar-ita.
Ek Bar is the first and quite revolutionary cocktail bars in Delhi. The eclectic bar has just been updated recently with Chef Ruchira Hoon taking the charge. Smooth craft cocktails, paired with bar bites, inspired by Indian techniques and ingredients. Propped on the first floor in Defence Colony, the cosy bar is full of quirks. Upside down trumpets, spunky bright walls and Indian motif patterns.
This place serves a very innovative variety of food. I tried the falafel platter and dahi kabab, both of them tasted great and had an amazing presentation. The ambiance of the place was also superb!👌🏻👍🏻
Went to this place to chill with friends. The ambience was quite soothing and the cocktails were pretty amazing. The presentation of the food was nice however the the quantity of the food was insanely less for the price charged. Would recommend the place for its cocktails.
Back to an old favourite for date night, but this time to a delicious new menu!
We had incredible evening that began with the pumpkin salad, chickpea sundal starter, pesto chicken Tikka, mutton sukkha, and my favourite- Prawn+Chorizo+Mushroom dish served with Poi. The flavours were perfectly balanced, and the hint of spice really tied the dish together well.
Ek Bar's cocktails have been impeccable since they opened- and we had a few of our favourites.
Though we were stuffed, Chef Vivek insisted we try some coffee and the strawberry topped chaanch panacotta (if I'm not wrong)
Looking forward to the final new menu- and that wonderful prawn dish again soon! Will be back.
Went back to Ek bar recently and was so thrilled to sample the new menu. Chef Ruchira Hoon and Chef Vivek have done a phenomenal job with the new menu. I was dining with a friend and the service was prompt and the team suggested I try a Margarita and the Chakhotra Paloma- BOTH heady cocktails with tequila with just enough sweetness. Loved the pesto chicken tikka, panch phoran pumpkin salad and the chickpea sundal. I highly recommend ek bar for drinks and dinner on a weeknight. Can't wait to be back.
Ek Bar is cozy, well served niche bar with some gr8 tasting new cocktails and fusion snacks to go along. Pretty much perfect for pre dinner drink though u might be full stomach if u choose some of their heavier filling snacks like gentried chicken and dohara kebab. Both were tasty and well made.. one item Khameree was NOT well made. Dough was kinda uncooked and even for a mushroom lover like me the flavour of wild mushroom rinse liquid was not very appealing on pizza base.
Cocktails Anarkali, Nizam were Royal punch were three different basis of tequila gin and whiskey. All three were well made and presentable.
Highlight was service from #Shekhar. He was the difference between a brilliant and good experience. Knowledge courteous guy. Keep up the good work..
Prices are on higher side.. comparable to a five star bar. But kinda ok for a niche place. One highlight for me was Seeing a lady Barman making drinks for two excited females sitting on bar chairs was a refreshing experience for DELHI..
One suggestion is fusion food menu may be needs more exotic options for vegetarians.. specially items with that 'end dinner tummy satisfaction'#@ feeling for after the drink maincourse#??
Had a gr8 evening..

Been to this place a couple of times now - still it connects me here again
The flexibility to reach being situated on main road @ Defence Colony.n also I like to visit same places again n again rather to explore new .
Tried paneer tikka n anar kali cocktail 🍸 staff is warm m welcoming. Food I would say is always well prepared presented and staff takes efforts to always take feedback right there which is positive aspect .
Overall a good place for hanging out .....
good spacious place no parking issues . No cheap crowd 👍
I've been coming to Ek Bar for more than a couple of years now, and I don't think I'll stop anytime soon.
Their cocktails are beyond par in Delhi. Being a cocktail enthusiast, I've tried most of the cocktail bars here but nothing comes close to Ek Bar.
My recommendations are the City of Nizams and the Royal Indian punch. Also the es-sence if you're looking for a cool experience.
Ask for Pradeep, and he'll make sure you have a very memorable night!
My visit to This place on a Saturday night was just amazing. We found a great spot near the balcony, as all the tables were aptly occupied. I didn’t mind taking up the table outside. The only disappointment was that I couldn’t hear any music. Now getting to the part which I loved, we had couple of cocktails- I will rate the bar menu a full 5. Getting to food menu, it didn’t entice me to order anything but a pizza. Food menu can be curated having diverse options. I would love to have a wide options from Pizza too. The pizzas were really small, and could have a better crust.
Now the dish which is making me write the review is Kheema pao- Ah I think it has my heart!!
Ambience kills the show, I mean it’s that good. Must try :)
The service and ambience was good, but it was pretty empty on a Tuesday night. The chairs can be a bit more comfortable.
The names of dishes and drinks were fun and they were tasty too. The gin and tonic cocktail was really good and had a very minty flavor, which I liked.
The food selection for veg can be improved. Overall, I would like to come again.
Love this place...chill vibe...good food and superlative cocktails! We had the beeda tonic which was a pan flavoured gin n tonic ...garnished with pan leaf and betel encrusted ice cube ...super!
The drinks here are really, really great. Pradeep served us here and he excellent. I wish the music picked up earlier. But I had a great time.
Very good food in terms of taste n presentation, also the staff is welcoming n helpful in terms of service . Decor is interesting n seems tasteful
Nice ambience, great location with unique drinks and awesome food also great service by Mr Chandra Shekhar. A must visit bar in south delhi.
Nice food nice experience nice service .food is very amazing .my server is pradeep. Is very good.good movment weldone . I will come soon.tks for service.
I visited ek bar with high hopes as it belongs to olive group. Great fusion of drinks, nicely made food. Staff deserves an applause (mukesh). Ambience is perfect .
Had a Fab time, as always. Pradeep and Rahul were super helpful with drinks - suggested based on our tastes. Definitely coming back - had a good experience overall.
The ambience is beautiful and chill at the same time. The food is amazing and so is the presentation. The staff is formal and considerate. I loved tha place it's good to have dinner with your friends. The drinks are great too
Well treated and managed by Mr. Pradeep. Went for his suggestions of Dhora seekh and punjabi bagh wala chicken. It is too goog. must try.. thumps up guys. 👍
Great food, the best cocktails in town and the bartenders specially know how to keep their customers happy. The crowd is also quite niche here mostly.
Fun lively place, nice interesting interiors, great cocktails, need I say more? Ek Bar is always a fun vibe. I really really love the colors of this place. The wait staff is very courteous, attentive and nice
Cool and different concept and vibe of this place located in Defence Colony . Serves Amazing variety of cocktails and mocktails . Crowd and service class apart .
Ek bar is a hip drinking and dining place in Defence Colony. I love their interiors , very well made. The staff here is very well trained. They know their menu and suggest well, when asked! The cocktails are good and food menu is nicely curated around Indian dishes. When in the mood for a evening out Ek bar does full justice!
A nice place with some good food and definitely for some after work very good cocktails.
Try there baked malai mushroom.
The royal indian punch was one of the best whisky based cocktails i have had recently.
Amazing food specialist bake malai mushroom& ek bar ke us paar.Really liked the cocktails and the different infusions with gin, vodka and Rum.This is a paradise for cocktail lovers. One must try out this place doesn't matter if you're in a group or alone the humble and polite staff members are gonna make you feel at home. The servers had products knowledge on point. The bartenders were great too they made me some really good cocktails out of the menu. That was really nice of them to do.Surely gonna visit next time with my squad.
super service and awesomely delicious food. Thanks so much for the amazing experience... Special thanks to Imraan and Chef for great food and service.
The biggest positive of this place is that music is not obnoxiously loud. It also has great cocktails and food. Lighting is warm and comfortable. The smoking area is well located for people watching outside. This is a great place to get away from the noise that's usual in a Delhi bar on a Friday night.
Our friend circle celebrated a milestone birthday and it was definitely more than we hoped for!
The food was amazing - they have a duck puff pastry that makes your tummy sigh. The Malai tikka chicken was ordered 4 times in a group of 9 so you can say that was a winner all around.
The cocktails are a delight! If you want to experiment with subtle flavors or quirky mixes, Ek Bar caters to both.
The service for me always gets the 5th star and they did not disappoint. The staff was extremely polite and helpful (Our waiter Shekhar was our very own Google). We danced to early 00's music until we couldn't feel our feet anymore.
It's now on my list of places one must go if you want to guarantee a good time!
Superb experience. Pradeep ensured all of us got we wanted. Despite being a large group with diverse choices, each one of us was satisfied with the food and drink options.

Superb Experience and had great fun. Pradeep was helpful and we got some excellent cocktails. Overall nice experience. A must visit place in South Delhi.
Lovely service. Excellent staff especially Mr. Pradeep, very kind and suggested us the best things to order. Totally recommend for nice cocktails and snacks. Amazing old school music.
The atmosphere and the staff are fantastic. I pradeep is and the other members of the service team are a delight. Please try a city of nizam and the tuna tartar.
Perfect place to hangout on a Friday evening or on a weekend date. The menu is quite exotic, unique and experimental. Loved everything that I tried. They have introduced a twist in their drinks as well! Must try for a night of fun-filled revelry.
Great place for food and drinks. Cocktails are one of the best in town by far. The ambience is also comfortable and attracts a decent crowd.
Went here on Valentine's day, the place was well lit and fun. The best part is that they have dishes based on the authenticity of their staff which is highly innovative. We ordered for punjabi bagh wala chicken and it was yummy! Also we got nimbu machli, and some version of a pakoda or spring roll. The cocktails were on point as well. Must recommend.
Great place!! Nice ambiance, great hospitality by Pradeep!! Really impressed. Music was good! Food was finger licking! N staff is very cooperative. Had good time.
Absolutely impressive!
Great food, quality drinks and amazing staff!
I really loved the way they have groomed their staff. Take a bow team! They didn’t do out of the box stuff or offered me any complimentary drink or any special request, they just did their job well with warmth and politeness all over. Good with recommendations, know their menu throughout, well spoken.
I usually review a place in peace but I had to review it right away!
Now coming to the food. It really hit my tastebuds. We ordered two starters and my god they were yumm! Baked Malai Mushroom with masala kulchas were a delight! They weren’t Masala Kulchas exactly but more like a crispy tandoori roti! The mushrooms were amazing!
The other one to ring some bells was Green and white pea tikki. A lott could have gone wrong with this experimental tikki. But it was good enough. Also had pizza, average taste.
The Drinks were amazing as well!
The only disappointment was the ambiance/interiors. But it can be subjective.
Over all, must visit.
Drinks were really impressive.
Want to catch up with your friends over drinks? Want to drink? Just want something good to drink? Head to this place.
This quirky place has experimented with food and drinks. All fancy!
I am more into food so the menu was basic food with a twist, a twist where you can enjoy mirchi pakoras, Ram ladoo, papri chaat etc. It’s a mix of roadside food and chefs creativity (though the real of taste of these foods are on the street) but yet
The portions are small as it’s a bar concept!
The interiors are dim light and light music, enough for y’all to have a smooth conversation.
:)
Ek Bar was a great choice for mid week drinks and snacks with a couple of friends. Good atmosphere and friendly service meant a great time was had by all. Marking them down by one point for allowing us to drink way too much wine!!
Nice food and good ambience staff is friendly . Fusion food served is awesome and healthy option which is unique . You should definitely try it in Ek Bar.
Punjabi bagh wala gentrified chicken, veg pea tikki and paneer tikka masala with bread..each and every thing was top notch! In drinks we tried their liit which was great. Beers are beers btw and in delhi since there are no micro breweries nobody can do better in taste then then the ones in Gurgaon. So bottled beers had expected taste. Location is at main ring road which is a plus point. Above all, the staff is really very warm and welcoming and justify the hospitality word!
Lovely place with a great vibe/ aura to it- peaceful/quite with a classy air to it, fab cocktails- loved the city of nizams. Went here two days in a row with different friends! Love the pork belly skewers/ prawn popcorn/ fish dish! Servers Pradeep and Rahul are both very polite, knowledgable and recommended great dishes, looked after us very week! Highly recommend this place! It’s my current new favourite!
Visited this place with friends on a sunday night. The place has a very medivial vibe, it showcases a huge bar and dim lit seating.
This place has been spoken for its cocktails. so we ordered 2 kinds.
"baby its cold outside" and "es-sense"
the first one tasted so good and the second one comes with a twist.
You get 3 essesnce with the drink strawberry, almond and rose. you can choose which one to spray on your drink. it tastes and smells of whatever you spray.
I personally loved the drink and the fn element that comes with it.
To eat we ordered baked malai mushroom served with masala kulcha- the dish was so flavoursome it melts in your mouth , punjabi bagh wala gentrified chicken is one of the best malai chicken i have had. It is served with a chilly cheese gravy and served with a kulcha as well and peppered kumurmuta khamiri, which is kind of a pizza but on the base of a khamiri roti, i didnt like this a lot because it was too sweet.
All in all the food was mind blowing and the drinks were great too.
Its a must try.
A very interesting concept of a casual bar. The bar’s quaint ambience lets you immerse in your own thoughts. The side plates are different and worth a try.
Very interesting concept of casual bar atmosphere! You can just chill with friends and indulge into amazing cocktails and a very thought provocative finger food menu! It was my first visit but am sure they will soon start to serve me on weekly basis! I had great fun. A lot of experimental food and drinks offer you fun and a break from daily routine restaurants 😋
Nice and quirky cocktail choices available, a modern take on indian food. The malai mushroom was one of my most liked dish and had an amazing experience drinking the charcoal gin cocktail.
Great place to enjoy with collegues. Good food and many types of drinks. Great staff. They are very polite. Some crazy names of drinks are also there😂
Amazing place! It's our go to place! Very close to office so it really helps. 140 characters are a little bit high.. But then what to do.....
Great place to hang out! Great food.. Punjabi bagh chicken is a must!
Pradeep is a great host.. Really helpful in deciding the order!
Will surely visit soon
One of the best bars in delhi for sure. The carefully curated cocktails are a hit! We tried all the signature cocktails as we were 5 of us and we enjoyed every single one of them. Specially would like to mention the favorites were :
Jadugarita the subtle blue pea and citrus were beautifully paired with tequila.
If you like grapefruit, the chakotra paloma was divine.
Commissionar sahab had the theatrical beauty with infused hookah smoke! Loved it!
The staff is super friendly and has a nice ambience!
This place is ideally located on the main road right next to the petrol pump. They have re vamped their decor and menu recently. Their food is yum and their decor is sweet and quirky. It is ideal to grab a drink post work before heading back! :)
Food was really nice. Ordered one punjabi chicken and a non veg puff . A comfort place with a super courteous staff. Enjoyed my evening after a tough day at work
The drinks were a clear winner- we had the hot toddy, cranberry love and Anarkali. Overall, a fun place, great vibe with some fantastic tunes :)
Amazing, lovely, cosy place to chill. Awesome small bites and innovative cocktails. Served by Pradeep who gave excellent tips on food selection and we loved it totally. Thank you pradeep for making our evening so special.
Had been wanting to go for a long time ...finally went on Christmas Eve.
First up was that despite having two confirmation messages, the host couldn't find our name in the register. Second despite it being Christmas eve, the place was quite dull.
Coming to the food and drinks... despite being a cocktail bar and having a large and varied drinks menu, it was quite underwhelming. The cocktails more or less followed the same theme.
However the saviour was the food! Not a large menu but the quality was excellent!
Had the Curry puffs and the Punjabi Bagh chicken and great portion sizes as well as fantastic taste and texture . The chicken was the softest and the cheese fondue sauce was amazing!
The curry puff had a beautifully laminated puff dough and the filling was just right.
Service was good too. Staff was courteous and trained well.
Bottom line: try out the food. That's the only thing really working here.
Its a beautiful little restaurant in Defence colony.
They serve really amazing cocktails, me and my friend end up ordering almost all cocktails on the menu. Service is little slow but its worth waiting for those best cocktails.
Special thanks to Rythem, Andrew, Pradeep and bar tender for humbleness and good service.
See you soon guys!
Great experience.. good mixture of cocktails.. Pradeep was our host who treated us really well.. must visit.. try visiting! You would live it..
Always a pleasure to visit ekbar... They know their drinks and their food. To top it is the service experience. Sometimes u feel the positive vibes from a joint and not many these days emnate same. This one does and always the place to hang out with friends.
Went to ek bar cafe with my friend. It was a really nice experience to be there food and drinks were amazing, staff was really polite and quick and on the top of it ambience was really good.

Had a splendid evening here today, we were wondering where to go on a Monday evening and bam this popped on zomato which was at a walking distance. We had a wonderful host by name pradeep. Good recommendations with the food. Very cozy ambience adding onto the mood.
Visited ek bar on a Saturday night, the service was a little slow yet it was efficient. The servers were polite and explained us whatever we wanted. They even recommended us good cocktails. A must visit for all Delhiites to try their cocktails and the food is also equally good.
The cocktails I would recommend are: commissioner saheb , ek bar Mary and beeda tonic .
The cocktails have an Indian fusion to it unlike the cocktails you have at other bars.
The ambience at night was perfect for dinner and then for party later, very smoothly the ambience made its shift.
Surely visiting again 👍🏻
Great bartending by vishal love the cosktails suggested by him and the server suggested some best food love the overall experience
Overall a vey superb experience would love to visit again
Absolutely love this place. My favourite would be baked malai mushroom which is served with beautifully textured kulchas. The cocktails are a win too. The menu is designed with perfect fusion food.
Show up for a cosy dinner with friends on winter evenings at the rooftop setup
Ek Bar nails the holy trinity of a good evening; brilliantly crafted cocktails, straight up good food, and quaint yet lively ambience.
They usually have special discounts for lawyers and have earmarked a day a week wherein gymkhana club members get a special discount and a similar menu.
The Drinks - We ordered the Whiskey Smash, the Royal Indian Flush (which was served in a beautiful tea pot and tasted as good as it looked), and Commissioner Sahab (it was just about alright compared to the wonders of the other two cocktails)
The Food - The Khamiri base non vegetarian pizza was beyond extraordinary to the sense that it was cooked very well, had the just amount to toppings. The kebabs were again just about okay.
The Ambience - One feels like the good old English Pub upon a first look with traditional wooden crafted furniture and and very done up Smoking Area with great seating as well. The music compliments the essence of the place and the owner is particularly hospitable and she takes a keen interest in feedback.
Great Bar, great cocktails, great people, great waiters. Vishal, our waiter, was very polite, friendly and helpful.
There is really not one bad thing that I can think of. Definitely my favorite bar in Delhi
Really nice cocktails and the pork belly skewers are excellent. Anshul made us feel very welcome and we had a great time. Good place for dinner or just for drinks. Good tunes and funky decor.
See you again soon!
Had a really nice night out at Ek Bar, the staff were cordial and patient with the large group orders and got it right in one go. Our server Prateek was excellent and made sure we had a wonderful night out with personalised recommendations for each patron.
Excellent experience, both the ambience and food was beyond fabulous. The music wasn’t overpowering and the cocktails were amazing as they always are.
The service was the cherry on the cake, special shout-out to Prateek!
Great cocktails and amazing food! Prateek was great! The ambience is lovely! Really enjoyable experience 🤩 the popcorn shrimp was exceptional!
Amazing cocktails
Wiskey smash was the best-5/5
New York sour was ok
( Don't know why it tasted like pomogrante juice)
Kamakazi - 5/5
Food;
The menu is so complicated to understand and hardly there is any good starters
I think they should add on few items to there menu
And also make it less complicated
- soya 🍕 was good and worth having it
Fabulous bar, amazing cocktails. Can recommend the old Delhi sour in particular. The royal Indian punch was also divine and came in a teapot, adorable. Bar staff are lovely, cheers to Brijesh, Pradeep, Kulwal and Andrew for delivering such lovely service.
Ohhkkk I will be Honest here.. “Its a cocktail bar”. Nice place to have a perfect evening drink with your partner. Small but comfortable one. Smiling service staff is topping on the cake. Limited food menu but Pizzas are must try as the its base makes it afghani pizza. Try their Red Rice Salad too.
The reason it works for me is because it’s away from the mad cluster of restaurants in the defence colony and khan market hubs. The ambience is nice and the food great. They stir up some interesting cocktails to boost and you should have a fun evening out. Sports nights are busy, otherwise a nice, relatively quieter place to go to. Loved their duck preparation.
I've been to this bar and loved this turmeric cocktail that they had. Don't remember the name now. The cafe is at an offbeat location and we loved the interiors. Writing for review for this amazing waiter they have there. Shekhar knows everything about the menu, how each item is cooked, garnished and if it's what we would want. We loved all his recommendations. He was on his toes to make sure we are content and comfortable and it's so rare to find service like that. 100 points to him for making Ek Bar feel like home. I think he accidentally dropped a ice bucket and apparently the management was a little furious. Please be kind to your hard working staff. I'll come back soon for more food and cocktails. Lots of love to the staff.
Very nice chic place. Went on a Friday night. Good crowd, nice music and ambience. Food average. Just fancy names for gharelu items. Just that you don't want climb up and down a spiral kind of staircase for washroom after chugging wine glasses!
Had a wonderful evening at Ek Bar. It’s very refreshing to see a cool bar in the middle of the city. With dim lighting and good music, it’s a really fun place to be. The drinks are quite good but slightly on the sweeter side (personally). We ordered a bunch of stuff including the Nimbu Machli (which was cooked to perfection but was slightly overpowered by lemongrass), Lajpat Style Ram Ladoo Chat, Paneer Ghee Roast, Baked Malai Mushroom and Malay Karipap inspired Curry Puff (which was my favourite and would definitely order it again). Its a really fun place to have a chill evening!
The baked malai mushroom is delicious! The dessert little hearts is amazing and therefore a must have! Mr pradeep did a great job! Was very courteous and prompt.
Nice ambience wid good quality of food like dal dhakri, green and white chick-pea,and cooperative staff ..... over all i enjoyed a lot ......sorry forgot the server name who serve the food to us Mr. Pradeep and very thankful for that delicious suggestions.we enjoyed a lot and very thankful for the wonderful evening.....
Pradeep was an amazing help at our table. This place has the most amazing ‘nimbu machli’ and pork belly. Drinks were also fairly potent. Over all.. it was a good visit!
Love the place and the staff... The menu has been very well designed by the prices as well as the flavour profile... Kudos to the beverage consultant and the head chef.
Ek bar is known for its delicacies and drinks always. Had a similar kind of experience, decent people around, Good food n even mocktails well mixed.

I hadn't been to Ek Bar up until now, even though I wanted to. I guess it's cause I'm lazy to leave Gurgaon and cause there are limited but consistent options in Gurgaon for cocktails.
That said, I did finally make it to the place. The subtle feel of a speakeasy caught my attention. It's not a speakeasy bar, but once you get there and take the flight of steps to the door, you get that vibe. And that's my favourite vibe!
We ordered many drinks, and they were all interesting. But I was disappointed by their gin and tonic serve. Same old tall glass, gin at the bottom... Bleh.. sad... You're a good bar. Please use gin goblets. I was happy though that they agreed to my change request on the glass.
The betel leaf and gin combination is worth mentioning! The marigold is not a bad try either.
Food was good too. The pate was nice, the khamiri pizzas are good (not so khamiri though).
Service is good and I like that about any place.
All in all a not so bad evening!
•COCKTAILS•
Ek bar is a concept bar focusing on artisan cocktails, started by the olive group.
I must say, the Olive Group has done it again.
The bar itself is an experience with dim lighting, beautiful lamps and very comfortable and quirky seating.
I am not going to give recommendations like I usually do because we ordered far too much and every. single. thing. we ordered was beyond wonderful.
I'm especially fond of Gin so I ordered the City of Nizams, their Negroni and the beedel tonic all of which were better than the last. Their ice cubes are especially interesting (see pictures) adding an extra quirk.
Coming to food. Again, far too much was ordered and every single dish was cleaned. The food is just as good and refreshing as the cocktails.
I'll definitely be going here again for their lovely cocktails.
On a side note: Special appreciation for their washroom. They have a few toiletries, like sanitisers, hand creams and lip balms proving that extra thought has gone into each and every aspect of this establishment.
Great spot! The atmosphere is chill and swanky. The service was very attentive. They have a happy hour special on their complex cocktails until 8pm - 375 rupees. They have creative and unique cocktails, including one they poured for me at my table with hookah smoke trapped in the upside down glass. Food options are also great. Small plates for sharing, and both items were fantastic. They have their own water, and these American stomachs are doing fine the next day.

Superb Cocktails, decent food and great environment. I liked the mood lighting and the setting of the place. Great stop to hang out. Staff is also quite attentive.
Amazing food. Probably the most underrated joint in delhi for some lip smacking 'dilli fusion food'. The drinks are also gorgeous and a small dainty casual yet 'Upper East Side' bar to unwind after a long long day at work. Its quiet through the weeknights and has some good soul music to sail you through your weekends. Definitely a one time visit till you start recommending it to your friends for the same reason i did to y'all. Cheers!
Loved the food the ambience totally fantastic the food is tasty and different a unique version which i tried in yet and this place is famous for its drinks and cocktails. You will find somr next level drinks and cocktails here lovely grwat going i must say.
Food was good too. The pate was nice, the khamiri pizzas are good (not so khamiri though).
And the crowd is definitely South Dell-hi! If you can be ok with that... Then you must make a visit.
Quite pricy but you get something fancy. The evening atmosphere is cozy and stylish. The cocktails are fancy!
Awesome place for romantic datenight. Classy crowd and ambience complements the amazing food and cocktail menu options
A good place to hang out, do try there 'Royal Indian Punch' Cocktail.
Overall a really cool place. The cocktails are amazing. They have a funny way of serving some of them. I had one which came in an ornate teapot. The food is really nice and not overdone. Ekbar has a really nice decor which can get used to the second one walks in. Plus being right next to the main road and away from the hustle bustle of def col market is an added bonus.
Food was great, ambiance was incredible. It was empty though - I guess we got there too early. It is well decorated, but a bit dark. Sit by the window on high chairs, order finger food, believe them when they say it is spicy, and enjoy house cocktails - classics with Indian twist - sip away, as you watch the hectic world outside buzz by.
A very nice place for food. Excellent fusion food. Ambiance is not that great, but there are seating options and an open terrace seating for smokers. Consider Rs. 1200 - 2000 per person for a meal depending on the number of drinks.
The go to place for cocktails. Love their unique takes on classic drinks. Their recent addition to the food menu is a delight. Had a great time enjoying the ambience of the place. Go to place if you want to assure yourselves of a great experience.
Located in Defence Colony, Ek Bar is a good pub with really good cocktails on the offering. We tried all the starters available on the Menu as well, and found the Buff and Prawns to be really good.
The Mains were decent, with none standing out particularly.
What we didn't like was the music. It was too loud, and even after shouting, we were not able to hear each other. Pointing this issue out to the Management was also not helpful, as nothing was done to address the concern.
Barring this, it's a nice place to get together and have drinks.
Decent place with screening of matches. Good gin based cocktails. The food menu is also amazing. The balcony has a really good view. Very close to the metro station. In and out is also next to ekbar. Really nice staff. Good food as well. A seperate smoking area. Overall a very good experience.
A Must visit cafe in Delhi.
Very very attentive staff, place has a soothing vibe,
Good proximity, has an own parking space.
Amazing cocktails with offbeat names😉,
Right from starters to main course, staff was helping us with a detailed description on various dishes as how it's made. Food was delicious. We loved their special and freshly baked dessert ''Little Hearts'. The cafe manager was kind enough to come and ask about our experience. Will come again.. surely.
