I don't have words to describe their Ghewar. You must try it. You will be lucky if you don't have to stand in the queue. They prepare Ghewar in desi ghee and tastes amazing.
The best place to get ghevar in Delhi. Though the ghevar is available only during savan. I haven't tried anything else from their shop but I've heard it's pretty famous for Karachi halwa. The ghevar here is pretty costly but it's absolutely amazingly delicious.

Chaina ram is a legendary shop of Old Delhi which does not requires any introduction. This shop is running for more than 100 years and is widely known for its specialty in sev badam burfi and ghevar.
During monsoon their ghevar sells like hot cakes.People have to stand in long queue running in kms as their stock gets over by noon.
Their ghevar is scrumptious which has very thick layer of mava and some nuts. It has so much of pure ghee that a bite of ghevar quickly melts in the mouth and the flavour which comes is just out of the world. Definitely, its a must try but requires some patience to stand in long queue to purchase it.
Sev badam burfi is available round the clock and is totally unavoidable. I strong believe this burfi cannot be replicated by any other halwai at all. Their burfi is very heavy as it is loaded with thin flakes of almond and pistachio. Its a true delight!! Again this HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
This shop is truly a must visit if your on food hunt at Old Delhi. Visit this shop for quality and taste which has not changed in so many years.

Really best place for having sweets. Only thing is that no proper sitting arrangement. So we were first time here and tried there Karachi Halwa , Moong Dal Halwa , Cheese Pakora , Khoya Ghewar. And as they mentioned everything made in pure desi Ghee and taste was really amazing.
I had paneer pakora, jalebi ghevar and karachi halwa from this outlet, all the three items tasted very good, quality and quantity was also very apt.
Must visit for sweets whenever you visit Chandni Chowk. I like their paneer pakora in snacks and sweets especially Gulab Jamun.

This place is always packed because of its delicious delicacies and fame. I got these sweets which were so delicious, flavourful and fresh, totally made my day and it's a very renowned brand yet they serve fresh quality items which is commendable.
Chaina Ram Sindhi Confectioners is located near fatehpuri chowk, Chandani chowk. This legendary place is running successfully since 1901, almost 118 years old. We had their signature dish poori chole and Karachi halwa. Poori chole was mind blowing, you can feel the ghee and Karachi halwa was great. I am not a big fan of Karachi halwa because previously I had that kind of halwa in my hometown. We don't call it Karachi halwa, here we call it by different local name. Don't expect classy ambience, it's basically like a take away place.
Gulab Jamun & Malai Ghewar are just mouth watering from Sindhi Confectioners. Serving staff very harmonious to speak with. The smile on face of stewards makes you forget everything. However, they need to improvise on seating arrangement & cutlery.
The food was fresh and specialy karachi halwa and chhole was aswm. Which were properly prepared and a great value for the price. We highly recommend it.

Chaina Ram is a legendary confectionery in Old Delhi. They are serving since 1901 and carrying forward their legacy of quality sweets. This is located near Fatehpuri Masjid . It opens from 9 am to 9 pm . They prepares sweets in 100% pure desi ghee which gives delicious flavour to them . They are a little bit expensive than any other sweet shops but worth it. I recommend their malai ghewar which is 660 ₹ per kg. It is too yummy . It is the best ghewar you can ever have. Its a must try. I love it and you will love it too. Thank you 😋.

One of the best places in Delhi for sweets. It is situated just beside Fatehpuri Masjid. Reaching here is a lit of hassle but totally worth it. They are the reason why i just cant have ghevar from any other shop..Their Malai Ghewar is the best.

Old delhi have lots of old and legendary places and this is one of them,situated near gate of Fatehpuri masjid,small and humble place,their Karachi Halwa (Sohan Halwa ) is must try,for breakfast badami poori and aloo is also worth.
Its the one place in old delhi one must try for sweets. Been eating sweets here since i was born and still it remains the best of best. Nothings beat chaina rams sweet. Specially the ghewar they make during festivals, the waiting line goes upto 100mtrs long.

The best part about the shop is the quality which they have not comprised for years decades and century.

Heard a lot about this shop so visited in the month of April n bought their most famous sohan halwa
First of all it lasted for 20 days
The taste was amazing, unique
Only problem was we don't have energy to chew the halwa it's so dam chewy that we cannot have more 1-2 pieces at once
Bought just 250grms n 20 people could not complete it at one go so you can imagine how difficult it's to chew because they are made in proper ghee
Overall a must try place when you are in old Delhi specific for the last long sweets but beware you will get tired of chewing it
This is one of the oldest sweet shop in town. Believe it or not but this is the best place to have larachi halwa. Although it serves other sweet dishes as well which are also good but their Karachi halwa steals the show. It's the best.
If you like your desert in old days taste visit the shop. All the preparations done in deshi ghee only. It is famous Karachi Halwa, Gulab Jamun, Kalakand,Malai Ghewar, etc. Their Namkeens are also very good. In morning they serve Poori & Chole along with carrots pickle which tastes great.
Due to desi Ghee in preparation price is slightly upper side, But I strongly recommend all the desert options available.
We had amazing Chole Bhature here. It was served with carrot pickle. Bhaturas were really soft. And chole was too tasty. We also had Sooji ka halwa. It could be more cooked.

It is great place if you have a sweet tooth. The sweet dishes are so famous that even my friends who live 300km + away from Delhi request to bring some sweets from here.
But the dish that is a must try is GHEVAR. It is very different and a notch above any other GHEVAR that you would have tried till date. I also tried Moong dal ka halwa which was also good.
Have had many a breakfast at Chaina Ram. Desi ghee overdose but so so good !! From South Delhi, its still kind of a trek to get there even with the metro connectivity but I ensure I do justice when I am around. In addition to the breakfast preparations the karachi halwa and ghewar are highly recommended.

Tried Kachori with Aloo Sabzi / Saag. It made quite my day to start with. Kachori had a very nice filling which was amazingly complimented by Aloo Sabzi. Also got Jalebi Ghevar which is the specialty of this place in the months around Holi. All in all a tasty experience to start the day.

A place that is steeped in history. My father used to buy Karachi Halwa from this place and his story of how it used to sell in minutes after it arrived from their kitchens to their shop is classic.
I has the Paneer Pakoda and Daal ka Halwa here. It hit the spot. The Pakoda was soft and crisp with the perfect mix of chutneys.
The Daal ka Halwa was just the right amount of sweetness. It’s a wonder how these places survive the test of time without pandering to the modern interpretation of the 6 tastes.
Recently I was there so i tried Nariyal Barfi , Badam pista Barfi . They taste good not out of the box type .

The sweet shop originally founded in 1901 was operated from anarkali bazar of Lahore before partition.After the partition current owners grandfather came to Delhi and started this shop in 1947.
They make some of the most delicious sweets in Delhi and all of the sweets are made using desi ghee giving the distinct flavours from its competitors in fatehrpuri.
They invented famous Karachi halwa and their season speciality includes ghewar which is sold around the time of monsoon and raksha bandhan and sev ki barfi which earlier used to be seasonal speciality but now is sold all around the year.Sohan halwa is another delicacy that can be gorged on.
Their karachi halwa is sold in tin boxes for inr 250 as a child i remember purchasing for just INR 100 rupees and my father must have bought the same for 50 rupees or less.The taste of sweets have remained the same as from the first time i tasted.
Sweets start from INR 600 and goes upto INR 1200 depending upon the ingredients in it.Chaina Ram is pride of Delhi and is an institution in itself.

They are famous for Ghewar & it’s never gonna disappoint you. Another famous thing is their Karachi Halwa, it’s pricey but it’s taste is unmatched.
Must try their Kaala Jamun & Sev Pao. I have also eaten their kachori’s, which is served with sabzi. It’s very tasty as well.

I would say Chaina Ram Sindhi is not merely a gem instead it's a pride of Delhi especially when it comes to sweets like Karachi Halwa. Their taste is unmatchable and though its famous primarily for karachi halwa and ghewar you'll equally enjoy their other sweets as well.

Best Ghevar ever! One of my friend got ghevar from this shop in Chandni Chowk for me and it turned out to be one of the best ghevar I ever had. The taste was superb and it was appropriately sweet. The quality and quantity will impress you. I have heard there are long queue for buying ghevar during peak season. Will surely try more from this shop.

If you're a true connoisseur of traditional sweets specially Ghewar , then you simply cannot miss the enchanting experience of visiting the old Mithai Shop at chandani chowk. This Shop is specially known for their bedami puri & sabji breakfast and Different types of Ghewar, I personally like the Red Ghewar. They also have the best Karachi halwa and many more sweets. Most of the time you will find a long queue for Ghewar, which are available only in rainy season.
However, I cut down one star only because of their pricing. As I personally feel it's very high than the other Mithai shops. Ghewar priced Rs. 800-950/- Kg. Yes definitely it's unique one and the best ingredients used including Ghee, but still I feel the prices are high.
Although, if you are in Delhi, must visit this place and try their breakfast and sweets too.

Chain Ram sweets are good in taste. All sweet made with Desi ghee. So many rush in shop. Workers are not cooperating with customers. And sweets over experience account taste but ok. I need to maintain cleanliness.
