"I feel embarrassed I've come to think about this café now in spite of living in Delhi NCR for such along time now. It's a cut of Goa without going to Goa. We visited around the Christmas time, and that was effectively the best opportunity to arrive here.

In case you're finicky about mood and stylistic theme, kindly don't be. While the café might not have a visual intrigue, the nourishment and administration will take your breath away off. An enormous writing slate shows the menu, which is, typically, loaded with fish and fish.

Being Christmas time, an ensemble was singing Christmas ditties. It perked up the air. They additionally had an extraordinary constrained time Christmas Warmer (Mulled Wine), which was completely brilliant.

We hoarded on Calamari River Fry, Chicken Xacuti, Poui Bread, Prawn Balchao, and Serradura Pudding. The pudding was awesome, to such an extent that in the wake of completing one, I got another stuffed for home. The divide sizes are satisfactory.

A couple may discover the costs soak, yet I feel, for the taste, it's justified, despite all the trouble. The spot has a home-like feel, exceptionally when the supervisor would approach visit up."

Ambience? You'll actually feel like you're sitting in a restaurant somewhere in Goa! It's that good. The vindaloo? Delicious. Tastes better with rice. Tried the poi bread for the first time. A bit hard to chew. A must visit place.

Goa Niwas, is one of the restaurant which made me excited after a long time. I was surprised by the ambiance of the restuarant, it was so beautiful & a perfect place to have an ideal date. They offere various props to wear and take photos, which was the most awesome part for me. We have ordered calamari fry, fish curry of the day & desserts. Calamri fry was so awesome & mouth watering dish. The rest dishes were good. Overall it was a good experience.

Lovely food, felt like homemade soulful food. Must try the Crab soup. During winters, it was a great delicious heartwarming food. The fish was soft and succulent. Must visit if you're looking for good seafood. The recipe is of the owner's grandmother. Every bite will remind you of home food cooked with loving hands.
The dessert I ordered was plum cake with custard-10/10!

Well, to start off, the theme of the place was pretty laid back I don't know whether it was done on purpose or they just had a few extra things lying around, but it connected well with a Goan vibe and did it's magic. The staff was very courteous especially the manger sitting infront who went around taking orders herself,
I ordered 4 dishes and a desert the rava fried king fish was absolutely amazing and fresh, the prawn chili fry were just like they were supposed to be fresh, big and spicy, the Goan chilli sausage fry was very good and packed heat, but the star of the show remains the Goan fish curry which was simply excusite, the chocolate pudding was good too, but I would prefer it more if they didn't put extra crumbled Oreos on top.

I wish that they soon start serving pooe Goan buns.

#PrawnChilly served with steamed basmati rice. One portion had 6 pcs of prawns. It was my first time trying out prawns.

Kaafi honest review:
Initially the smell of the dish reminded me of fish market but slowly and steadily that smell started to vanish and the taste of prawns grew on me. I just loved the dish as a first time eater. 😅

Quirky deco with a bird cage in the corner and non functional plasma TV in the centre is what our first impression was.. looked like the previous tenants had left, leaving their mess behind and the new tenants had moved in. 3/5

Firstly the hosts were very nice and gracious..Secondly the food is good, and reasonably prices. 6/5We had the fried calamari, xacuti chicken with steam rice which was filling for two adults.. 4/5

The hostess is polite and well spoken. They play Konkani music and the decor resembles a beach shack. I think the restaurant is used like a community hall when not operational, since there was a lot of random stuff everywhere. They could clean up the area a little bit, all the random things filled gave the impression of a tacky shack. The food was no short of gourmet. It was prepared with love and tenderness. The flavors reminded me of Goa. The prawns were fresh and the spices were perfect. It's a pity we couldn't eat more.

Really good Goan food you could find here in Viva O' Viva in case you miss your days at Goa. The desserts are limited but really good and a must try I would say. Try Serradura/ Bibinca which are specialty sweets of Goa.

A completely Goan Restaurant, music and decor giving you vibes that you're not in Goa anymore!! We used to go to Andhra Bhawan all the time, and decided to explore canteens from other states as well. And by far, I rate this canteen is the best of all. They have selective but Diverse menu. Service is extremely amaaazing. Even waiters and waitresses are dresses like Goans. I thoroughly enjoyed my time here.
We ordered Indian Basa Rava Masala, which was spicy and tangy at the same time! For main course we ordered Pork Vindaalo with special pao bread, and we couldn't get over it. It had a rich curry with perfectly cooked smoked like texture pork. For desserts we asked for Serradura Pudding, which was okay. We felt it had more biscuit crush than cream. Neverthless I found the experience quite soothing and would love to go there again to try out more from the menu.

This restaurant located in Goa Niwas, gives you a feel of sitting in a Goan restaurant as in Goa. One can definitely enjoy their food, as the place has good ambience. The restaurant has decorations which gives a glimpse of Goan culture.
This is one of the very few places in Delhi which offer a wide variety of seafoods.
Coming to the food, I ordered Crab soup, Butter Garlic Prawns, Fish Curry with Rice and Goan special Pav.
The Crab soup was heavenly tasty😍👌. I would definitely have it again and will recommend to all the seafood lovers.
The Butter Garlic Prawns were pretty average, would not try it again.
The Mackerel fish curry was very tasty and had an authentic Goan flavor.
Though the Prawns were not quite tasty, but this place is a must visit if Seafood is on your mind.

There are very few places that instantly connect with your soul, Viva O' Viva Goa is that place for me. Sinatra was playing when I walked in and I just waltzed to it and it felt like home instantly. I had the sea food pulao and Chicken Xacuti which were both beyond delicious. They offer delicious sides too. Try the pickled green mangoes!
We even got a delicious complimentary dessert.

Such polite staff and the proprietors are two amazing sisters! This is kind of place you want to only keep to yourself and the bestest of your people but that would be too selfish of me. So here is my review! Go here, eat to your heart's content, soak in the place, the music; the relaxed feeling of being in Goa will wash over you and may just make you escape the crazy big city hustle, even just momentarily.

This is my secret and now I leave it to you to take care of it.

Viva O’Viva Goa is part of Goa Bhavan in Chanakyapuri. The room is bright and eclectic - for some it might seem like an overload of Goan kitsch.

The menu is, quite naturally, seafood focussed. Sadly the first couple of items we ordered weren’t available but there was plenty to choose from. We had a super prawns peri peri, great dry fry of kingfish, decent porco vindaloo and an ok stuffed crab. Breads were disappointing with the normally soft and yielding pao coming up a little dry and dull.

Service was friendly and the chef came to say hi too. Overall the food here is decent but I suspect the super casual feeling of the place means many have lower expectations of the kitchen. For me it was a 3.5 but I’m giving 4 stars for friendliness.

I tried 2 things here : chicken vindaloo & bibinca ;
Firstly , the chicken vindaloo was kind of okayish reason being chicken quality was not so good , could be stale or frozen one , it was bit hard and smelly , I guess with fresh chicken that might not be case , along with vindaloo I had flatbread and pao , both were good .

Now for desert may it was my mistake to order dodul , dodul tastes bitter , and I don't know if it is the real taste or something was wrong .
They graceful replaced the desert with bibinca and this is the best part of restaurant.

I will like to try crab once for sure .

I will straightaway get to the point and the reason why I’ve given a 5 star to this place.
This food is AMAZING, Very polite and customer friendly staff, little steep on the pocket but then you are getting typical authentic Goan food so don’t mind paying so much for such scrumptious food. The Pork Vindaloo, Butter Garlic Prawns & the Rava Kingfish Fry are out of the world !!
Go and try this place out if you want to have that typical Goan flavoured cuisine in Delhi !!

THIS PLACE IS FUNKYING DELICIOUS!
(hope you get the pun. It’s easy once you visit)

I am very inclined towards having regional food at the bhawan canteens/restaurants than individual opened cafes. Goa Niwas was on my and Viva 'o' Viva did not disappoint. The place is exactly what you think your well managed store room would like minus the dust. You can anything in the décor right from miniature elephants to 15 types of hats.

Viva ‘o’ Viva has more character figures than F.R.I.E.N.D.S :D (cheeky). The interior décor is very homely and inviting. Some might not like it but the place has a very positive character. The lady manager was very sweet and suggested us to go for Peri Peri Prawns and Vegetable Xacuti. We were slightly confused looking at the menu and left it to her.

We ordered –

Peri Peri Prawns with Pav 5/5
Vegetable Xacuti with Rice 5/5
Kind Fish in mild Coconut Curry 4/5
Chicken Kafral (don’t know if its written this way) 5/5
Serradura Pudding 5/5
Bebinca 4/5
Pina Colada 4/5

Each and every dish was suggested by her and we were delighted after having it. The service was super quick even though there was only one serving us.

Peri Peri Prawns were first to arrive, they were complemented with serving of 3 in-house baked Pav. The tiger prawns were lip smacking in the tangy (slightly chilli) peri-peri preparation.  The dish wouldn’t have tasted this good if the size of the prawns would have been medium or small.  The Pav were super fresh in taste and fluffy.

Vegetable Xacuti – this was different and very good. A mix of potato, cauliflower, egg plant etc (because I forgot the rest :D) prepared in a traditional green Goan thick curry. The vegetables were properly cooked and tender. The curry was simply amazing and rice complemented the dish perfectly. A must try for vegetarian people.

Fish in Goan Curry – This dish was slightly tricky for as the fish was not completely boneless. The fish had a thick central bone and other small bones around it. However, the fish was delectable and cooked to magnificence. The curry was very tasty and I ended up finishing it with a bowl of rice. The curry is a must have at this place.

Having had Fish & Prawns, we were suggested to have a traditional Goan preparation of chicken – Chicken Kafral (I hope I am writing it correct, I couldn’t find it on the menu and can only remember the pronunciation). It took 15 minutes for its preparation and was served piping hot with homemade Pav buns. The chicken was cooked to the boned and had a very savoury taste. The green curry was out of the world and I licked the bowl clean, JK. I did not find it best suited with Pav and some kind Parota would have been a good complement to it.

Hands down the best thing was the Serradura Pudding. As explained by the manager it’s a Portuguese dessert with layers of crushed biscuits and cream topped with a generous serving of caramel. Oh Boy was it amazing. By far one of the best desserts I have tried is this one. The layering was evident from the side and it had smoothly crushed biscuits and not thick crumbles. Combined with the heavy cream it just melted in the mouth. It wasn’t too sweet which is why I liked it even more. The serving might look small but 2 people can have it.

This was my first time having Pina Colada and found it a bit sour this maybe because of the pineapple. It was a nice cooler and I developed its taste throughout the dinner. The drink was refreshing and had a slight flavour of coconut.

Bebinca – I told you the manager was sweet and after the bill offered us complimentary bebinca. It’s a traditional Goan sweet made with jaggery, coconut milk, nutmeg and wheat. It was sweet and tasted great. It was the appropriate conclusion to our wonderful dinner.

The place is definitely worth visiting. It is centrally located near to Yashwant Singh Place and adjacent to Bihar Bhawan in Chanakyapuri. The décor is hep and the staff is very helpful and polite.

I will be certainly visiting again to try out other Goan delicacies.

Happy Munching!

Whole searching for some interesting state bhawan canteen I found upon this one on zomato and since I have not really tried authentic Goan cuisine in a while I bookmarked it.

It's basically a privatised canteen inside the 'Goa Niwas' which has a very different and funky ambience. They have actually made it like you are sitting in some casual cafe in Goa. Service is very prompt. The owner is very friendly and helps you with the order in case you aren't able to decide.

Firstly we were recommended PERI PERI PRAWNS and they were very tasty and actually had a very different flavour from prawns that I have eaten at other restaurants. The quantity was also very ample.

Second dish was a FRIED POMFRET which I simply loved. If you are a fish lover then don't miss this one. It was a very big one and tasted yummy with their in house tartar sauce.

The third dish was a sea fish curry which had a mild coconut flavour in it. Even if someone doesn't like coconut flavour wouldn't really mind this one. This was the best fish curry that I had this year. It was perfect to be paired with rice.

Lastly we were given complimentary dessert from the owner by the name of Bebinca which was very soft and tasty. I couldn't understand the ingredients and I was having this kind of dessert for the first time but I enjoyed it and it's surely recommended.

One of the best places for sea food in Delhi. Specially for authentic Goan cuisine. The service is warm. Do not go for the interiors, but for the food. They recommend only the fresh fish and you will never be disappointed. Not a big fan of their peri peri dishes. But their rava fried prawns and pomphret and the fish curries are just delicious.

This lunch was by far the best food exploration by me in the last few months. This small beach themed restaurant is suitably situated amidst Chanakya Puri in lush green backdrops. Being a part of the Goa bhawan, its 7 days open and best part is that it is almost empty on the weekends.

Food is as good as it gets ... Almost as if you have stepped in Goa on as is where is basis! Menu, though short is made keeping in mind with what is available fresh! The taste is the overall winner ... Two of us tasted the Tiger Prawn Balchao, Mutton Vindaloo & the King fish curry with steamed rice. Each dish was at it's epitome really and it was too difficult to find out which one preceded the other!! We ended our eating ordeal in a matter of few minutes without talking or any unnecessary disturbances!!! At the end we had the famous hot Bebinca cake which was a bit less for the price asked but as sweet as possible!!! Highly recommended place if you love Goan food as much as I do!

The national capital has a lot of State Bhawan canteens, among which some are open to the public. Like we've discovered three months back The Potbelly Rooftop Cafe situated in Bihar Niwas, Chanakyapuri. Similarly, on this day, i.e. 1st August 2018, we went to explore the Goan Cuisine at the Goa Niwas, Chanakyapuri. A private catering firm Viva O Viva manages the canteen.

The casual ambience of the canteen represents the easy-going vibe of the state Bhawan. The purpose of this state-run canteen is to serve authentic Goan Cuisine with affordable rates.

Serving staff were polite to us, and they also had excellent product knowledge. One of them was wearing typical bright Hawaiian style shirt with images of palm trees all over.

We decided to settle with a menu that the servers and the owner had selected would be the best for us to have a comprehensive and wholesome experience of what the restaurant has to offer, with a specific eye on Goan cuisine. And boy were we glad.

We first started out with Prawn Balchao with pao. The Prawn Balchao is in many ways the raison d'être of Goan cuisine and its no surprise that it's thepièce de résistance of the meal in Viva o Viva as well. The Balchao gravy is a bright red, and the taste is delightfully tangy with the tomatoes and chillies blending together in delightful harmony. The prawn was amazingly juicy and plump. This is the best prawn you can get in Delhi. And if you're a seafood lover, you know prawns are among the best things to relish.

Next, we were served the Pork Vindaloo. The pork vindaloo was sour and spicy and made a hearty dish. Despite being a curry, it went great with the Pao and was a delicious understated complement to the loud flavours of the prawn. The pork amazingly was largely free of fat and consisted of relatively soft meat. The fatty pieces too went just great with the curry.

Post this; we were served The Red Snapper curry with rice. The red snapper was insanely fresh, cooked in a light coconut curry, balanced with chillies.

After this excellent conclusion to the entrees, all that remained was to conclude our meal with some superb dessert. The sheer brilliance of the meal had built up very high expectations for the dessert. They served us two variants of desserts Dodol &
Bebinca.
The Dodol is a traditional Goan dessert which is made up of coconut milk and jaggery.  This was as a thick and sticky dessert & the Bebinca was a soft fluffy multilayered dessert made of coconut whose flavours it exuded and egg yolk and flour that lent it the amazingly velvety texture. This was the perfect end to our meal.

Prawns chilli fry- its semi-dry and the poui bread goes really well with it (as told by our attendant).
White promfret curry- coconut based curry, a complete delight for us north indians, accompanied by white rice and mango pickle.

It was an amazing experience the food was simply of the hook I had never experienced food like this the flavours were so awesome that one couldn't stop. We were three two non vegetarian and one vegetarian (me) I had ordered for paneer peri peri with double bread, and veg vindalo. One crab and a fish dish was ordered with rice whatever I had tasted in the name of peri peri was spoof this was so much full of flavors that I literally cleaned the plate with my fingers, the ginger beer was a disappointment but over all a wonderful experience I would love to visit this place again, not to forget the staff is very humble and serve with love and desert we had ordered was based of palm jaggery the best desert I had in years.

'The Next Door Goa!'

We went on the occasion of my mom's birthday celebration and one of the first to arrive so we had the whole place to ourselves. The vibe is of a typical Goan home with tassels, toys, greenery, white-board penned menus, with splash of colour and in-house Goan music on vintage music system on point to the theme. The place is run by the Barretto family and team, all of whom are very friendly, courteous, attentive, and elude a Goan homely feel. It's a non-vegetarian's paradise with an extensive seafood menu which can be customised as per preference of style/spice. Though it does have a couple to choose from for the veggie delights as well.

A family of three lean eaters, we ordered:
- Prawn Curry
- Indian Basa Rawa Fry
- Mixed Veg. Xacuti
- Special Pao Bread
- Basmati Rice
- Viva-O-Viva Tropical Special
- Mojito Mint
- Serradura Pudding

Overwhelmed by the menu, our tiny bellies went a little overboard with our order. The service time was decent and the food much beyond that. The portions are sized to handsomely serve two. The prawn curry and fish were nicely done with low spice levels, as per our liking and went well with plain rice. The combination of the vegetable curry with pao was a match made in heaven! Don't miss on the tiny drinks menu dancing in fluorescence, kept towards the end of the restaurant. Our drinks were non-alcoholic, healthy and natural. The icing on the cake was the dessert which made us walk down the memory lane to Old Goa where we first fell in love with the traditional Portuguese Serradura. To mark the occassion, Mr. Patrick, the man who runs the show, was gracious enough to give us a larger size of the sweet for all three of us to have a sumptuous share and gave us a local Goan music CD as a goodwill gesture. He also brought some hats and other props to click our hearts out!

The pricing is slightly heavy on the pocket but the experience makes it worth the spend. And for the bonus, free safe parking inside Goa Bhawan itself. Good food, good people = Happy customers!

Recently, I have kinda started hopping from one state bhavan to the next, and ended up here on a hot sunday afternoon.. The ambience was good & the staff was very friendly. They even got a very cute and surprisingly calm dog, which roams around from table to table.

I ordered myself a veg xacuti curry, a veg vindaloo curry and some rice and bread. The xacuti was like an Indian version of Thai red curry - very delectable. The vindaloo on the other hand had some heat - I guess that's because of the bit of cayenne pepper and paprika, which gives it a really unique taste. Glad to have tried both of these great dishes.

Definitely recommended, must visit!!

P.S. - Not from Goa, never visited the place - so cannot comment on the authenticity of taste. But for an outsider, the food is definitely enjoyable.

First time I tried food from Indian bhawan. It was outsourced to a vendor yet they served authentic Goan cuisine

Their prawn peri peri is irreplaceable. I have never had such a curry in my life and it was the best with rice. Stuffed crabs I found overpriced at 650 inr and taste was okay.

For dessert, simply opt for the biscuit pudding with which cream and biscuit granules layer by layer. Loved the place

Viva O Viva at Goa Niwas in Delhi has been offering fine dine Goan cuisine for quite a few years now. Exploring new taste is my primary motivation to visit a restaurant, so when I had initially come to know of Viva O Viva, somewhere around 2012-13, I must have visited the place thrice in quick succession. During the same time, I visited Goa twice, so after all these visits my hunger for vindaloo, xacuti and peri peri fry decreased and I decided to take a long break from Viva O Viva. The break was almost for four to five years.
It was a last-minute decision to visit the restaurant recently as we were in a fix about whether to go to the newly opened canteen of Assam Bhavan or Viva O Viva, and we opted for the later, giving weight to our long absence from the restaurant.
I was pleasantly surprised to see the interior, which resembles with an over-packed Goan house. The menu is neatly written on a white board and offers around twenty different dishes in a day. The basic segregation of the menu could be made into seafood, chicken and meat, vegetarian and desserts.
In my opinion, if you are not a native to a particular region then it’s better to be not very experimental because not every unknown dish will suit your palate. We ordered for Goan fish curry and Peri Peri prawn fry. The Goan fish curry essentially consist of rava (semolina) fried fish in a coconut gravy. If you are not a fan of coconut gravy then one can also opt for the red spicy gravy; since we had opted for peri peri prawn fry, we decided to keep the gravy light.
We initially thought of going for the Mackerel fish gravy, but settled for the King fish gravy as they offer one whole Mackerel and not everybody is comfortable with the fish head. In case of King fish gravy, they serve well-cut three pieces. The price of King fish gravy is higher. A Mackerel fish gravy costs Rs 350, a King fish gravy costs Rs 550, peri peri prawn fry costs Rs 495, a plate of Basmati rice costs Rs 100 and pao costs Rs 30. All the prices are inclusive of GST.
Vivi-O-Viva scores very high on hospitality. Hospitality just does not end in being polite to your guests, but extends beyond that. The restaurant owner is kind enough to ask the guest if they need more gravy. We were pleasantly surprised when we were asked about the same.

Peri Peri Prawn is a must try here. The place felt nice away from the crowd. There were some decorations along with some Portugese/Spanish music to get the Goa vibe. Food was a little costly though.

I truly did not expect the taste of the food they served. It was just like the home-cooked meal made in Goa. Loved it. Will definitely visit it again.

Located in Chanakyapuri inside Goa Niwas. Viva O' Viva is a small Goan joint which serves really nice food. It's not like a typical restaurant. It's more of small homely cafe house. The food is comparatively expensive around here but it's tasty as well. The Decor is very simple and feels like something you wanna see at 2am. The service is okay and the staff is very polite. Fish and Chips is something to try at any cost. Overall it's a one time thing but it's something you would definitely enjoy. ❤️

The only place in Delhi which serves authentic Goan cuisine. Not only is the food sumptuous but the ambience in itself gives you a feel of Goa. A must visit place. The owner is very cordial and she personally looks after your taste, ease and comfort. Go Viva o’ Viva.

The place is situated in south Delhi amidst all the state houses, in Goa niwas. The ambience is set to make you feel that you are in Goa, with a nice blend of Goan and western music. I ordered Paneer cutlet, Bun, Chicken vindaloo, and prawn curry.

Of course it was spicy, and Paneer cutlet With bun gave a totally new flavour. The food was spicy enough and in ample quantity. The prawns were also nicely made, however the chicken didn’t seem to be upto the mark, even though the gravy was nice.

The service was prompt and courteous. Would like to visit the place more often maybe.

Delhi houses a lot of State Bhawans, among which some canteens are open to public. After an amazing afternoon at Bihar Niwas, we decided to check out the neighbour. Goa Niwas itself is beautifully built and their restaurant transports you right to a cozy Goan household. The warmth of this place and lovely hospitality ensures you have a splendid, homely meal.

As you enter the you need a while for your eyes to adjust to the ambiance. But that can be over looked because this is that place you have always wanted to try as you have heard so much about it. We had prawn peri peri and pao to start with and it was good. The seafood pulao wasn’t as expected but won’t say it was bad, you can definitely try it. We also ordered vindaloo pork and I quite liked it, the meat was tender and the curry was lovely.

Goa Niwas is located in the same Chanakyapuri bylanes with Arunachal, Rajasthan and Bihar Bhawan’s as neighbors. Their restaurant there, Viva la Viva, is quite popular with local -- We were expecting a government run one, but found it is outsourced to a private restaurant and is lovely in every aspect. Colorful, vibrant and quirky with all kinds of artefacts and household items from Goa thrown in on all sides, nice music and friendly staff, this sure is a piece of Goa! Doesn’t serve alcohol though – surprisingly.

The menu for the day is on digital boards and is exhaustive with a variety of seafood and meats. For starters we ordered Butter Garlic Prawns, which had 6 pcs, lovely taste and perfectly cooked. You cannot not have Vindaloo or Sopotel when you are here. We went with Pork Vindaloo. It was excellent, with the spicy masalas and good serving of falling off the bone pork. Best had with Paos. Next, we couldn't leave without having Pomfret Curry, Goa style. Mildly flavored, cooked with grated coconuts, it was a version of Gassi  that we love in Mumbai. Went beautifully with the plain rice. Prices are quite reasonable, and the place was packed on a Sunday. Desserts was disappointing though, partly our fault – instead of local stuff like Bibinca and others, we ordered Fruit & Cream which was good, but served in a very small bowl with little fruits.

Upon entering this restaurant I felt the laidback atmosphere immediately. The staff were friendly and attentive. At some point during our meal I forgot I was in Delhi. The chilled out music and the smell of seafood accompanied by the low key decor reminded me of a typical Goan shack.
We ordered peri peri prawns, grilled fish, Goan fish curry and a pina colada mocktail.
The peri peri prawns were perfectly cooked but let down by the sauce. The grilled fish was lovely accompanied by a good portion of vegetables. The Goan fish curry was the star of the meal. The rice soaked this wonderful curry perfectly. The Pina Colada was fantastic, an absolute must.
The dishes are well priced and the portions aren’t too bad. I’m glad I’ve found this hidden gem. Will be visiting again for sure.

Pictured, a pomfret, shrimp curry and stuffed crab. Not pictured, seafood soup, pao, calamari and a chilli tiger prawn.

Very yummy but out of the seafood, only the fish seemed fresh. That's probably a hazard of living in landlocked Delhi.

Restaurant feels like somebody's grandma's house. I mean that as a compliment.

Went there for the first time and the experience came out to truly a great one. Not only the food is amazing, the service is fast. A special thanks to the lady, Ms Ami, who was personally looking after all the affairs. She not only suggested us what to have, but was also putting her ears to understand what kind of food we like. This was my wife's birthday, so as a special gesture, she even arranged for a chocolate pudding from her side, arranged hats and offered her help in having our pics clicked. A great place, where kids can be on their own when we enjoy our meals. a 5 on 5 kind of experience. Kudoos!!!

VoV is situated in Goa Niwas & the first thing that pleases you that there is parking available for guests as normally the state bhawans do not have such a provision available. Once you enter you might find the set up strange, at least that's what I felt. There are plastic chairs, bookshelf, children's corner with everything as randomly kept as possible. It takes time to adjust yourself to the ambiance. While asking for the menu, we were told that we need to read through the menu displayed on the wall to order. Since we sat at a distance it was not easy to read so I used technology to click it & share with others on what's app.
While the experience uptill now was strange but we were now getting used to the place with some great goan music bring played in the background. We decided to order the Mix seafood pulao & the Fish curry of the day along with Fresh lime soda. The food was at our table in 10 mins & I must say that the quantity is pretty good & matches the price charged for the dishes. The pulao was simply awesome as my taste buds could feel crab, squids & prawns added in good quantities to rice. The fish curry had a strong flavor which when mixed with the rice pulao enhanced the overall taste.

Just to add that the manager at the restaurant really made our experience worthwhile. She was extremely courteous & explained the dishes in great detail. She kept checking with us in between meals if she could get us something which was really nice & hospitable.

To bring a sweet end to the gourmet experience we ordered the Serradura pudding . This was a let down as it was extremely dry & the cream content should be added in greater quantities. Nevertheless, it was a good experience though I feel that the prices can be brought down by 5-7% to make it a delightful one.

A very laid back ambience, in some ways it did take me back to Goa. I wish the dining hall was less clustered though. Paraphernalia scattered everywhere felt a little too stuffy. The staff too was a little lacking BUT that doesn’t take away the fact that they do serve good seafood! Ordered prawns, crabs, fish dishes and we liked them all. The seafood pulao for me is a MUST TRY. I absolutely loved that. Do try the chilli prawns, butter garlic stuffed crabs.
