The food was absolutely wonderful, from preparation to presentation, very pleasing. We especially enjoyed the dry chana masala,daal makhni & chicken butter masala and interior & lighting was outstanding
Since there was a long waiting at Pind Baluchi and we were adamant about beer, chicken and naan - we decided to roam around and find alternated. We saw the board of Amber from across the road and our first reaction was - this looks shady! And to be honest, that was the reason we decided to visit - with an aim to relive the college days! But when we entered, we realised it was exactly opposite of shady! A very well maintained place which gives you a bit of nostalgia of older restaurants. The staff was well trained and the ambiance felt rich. We ordered Chicken Bharta and Naan along with some pints of beer. The food was delicious and we ended up having a great time. If you want some Indian/Mughlai food, do not miss this place.

The food quality and the ambience is awsome,a perfect place to dine- in.
I ordered following:
• chicken bharta- made up of rich white gravy and topped with boiled eggs was amazing in taste, definitely must try dish.
• akbari naan- akbari naan is a very unique concept at this place, was a bit sweet in taste and loaded with lot of dry fruits will give you a served like a pizza.
• Dal makni- the most lavishing dish at this place , i can eat it whole day, was so good in taste, drooled with lot of cream and butter was very smooth in taste.
• chicken reshmi kebab- served with masala onion and mint sauce was very mouth-watering
This is the best option for dinner and lunch with friends at Connaught Place. Dal Makhani and Malai Kolta is famous dishes of this restaurant.

Many times I visited here with my friends at night for drinks & dining. The Ambiance and Food we always loves here. Mostly we tried Whiskey, Chicken Tikka, Bloody Merry & Dinner after-that. The soul of this place is silence, here we can enjoy our drinks, dine and discussion in peaceful atmosphere, which is rarely available in connaught palace.
Next to barbeque nations and opposite biryani blues and local and if you don’t get a reservation on a weekend night, this is the best standby..yummy healthy food and a nice family restaurant to sit
Went there on Saturday night when other restaurants had the waiting for minimum 30 minutes. I did hear that it's good and one of the oldest in town. I had ordered the most spicy mutton dish on the menu but it was not at all spicy and spice levels was on the moderate side. It had the feel of the old era and all the servers were pretty old. Service was good and quick but not with a smile. Rates were ok in comparison to the other restaurant. Meal for two without alcohol will be INR 1300-1500. All in all a fine restaurant could be tried for one time experience.
We came here last month. They served us the best rolls I've ever eaten. So crunchy and hot. The drinks served were also just the right kind of cold. Would love to come here again to unwind and relax after a loooong day.

Good food perfect taste just like the one in Calcutta very good service they also made veg food without onion and garlic (jain) for my wife. Try the naan it's very light and different paneer butter masala and chana is what I recommend. This place is not for people who like rajinder ka dhaba types

Basic restaurant with nice ambience but very courteous staff and nice food. Soups are great with starters also more than good, main course can be improved a little bit, overall value for money.
Only for Class .... youngsters may not like it as it manages the subtlety on the top of that the taste of food is sublime................

In CP where lounges and bar's are prevailing, this place is stick to its basics and serving some authentic food in typical fine dine ambience which is not in trend these days but definitely families/groups also want to go out for food and this is precisely they are focusing on.

When you're in your 20s, you will enter anything that says 'Cheap Beer' and my friends & I did exactly that.
Amber was offering a pint of Kingfisher for 69. We entered and ordered 3 of those. The ambiance was good, spacious and serene.
India vs New Zealand match was on and there couldn't have been a better time to visit this place.
We ordered masala peanuts and papad and started watching the match.
We looked at the food menu and it was pretty expensive. I think it's justified in a sense because you have to gain what you lose in liquor. Another thing about this place is that it's one of the very few places in Delhi which serves alcohol and accepts Sodexo meal vouchers.
We ordered 2 rounds of beer and then pushed off. We finished off the papad and the quantity of peanuts was so good that 3 people couldn't finish it off.
Overall, I would give Amber a 3.5/5. This place has everything in place and I am surprised it's still not a crowd puller. That could probably because of a dull outer look among a young and lively street.
If they work on the image a little and make their boards a little funky. It's a matter of time before they become popular.
Cosy place with a really misleading menu. The alcohol is pretty cheap, and the food makes up economically for what they lose on alcohol.
Economics apart, the service is fine. Everyone is there only for the cheap alcohol, don't try the food.

In the party hub of CP this is the only quit n calm place. We tried entering to the lounges n clubs in CP but to our hard luck no one allowed us because we were stag. But this place didn't disappoint us. We ordered Reshmi murg tikka, chicken Punjabi masala, naan, roti. Perfect taste n portion size. Service was good n very good deals on liquor.

Well they love to garnish their dishes well and keep it according to the Indian taste. Yes their food is hot and spicy afterall a little bit of chilly does no one any harm. The food was mouthwatering, ambience was good, seating area soothing to mind.
After having good drinks we landed upto this place. We all hungry and it had been a while after drinks. Looking for a good place to eat, I got this suggested by one of my friend some time back and his suggestion worked for me! Dal Makhni was way awesome. This place is also added to my list to have dal and naan and I would recommend you all to have here -:)
Anyone who has lived in Kolkata in 1980s and 90s would know what a legend Amber is. When it opened it Delhi few years back I was one of the first ones to try it. Been there few more times over last few years. Food is standard, non veg dishes are better than veg ones. Try any mutton dish, it's delectable. Service is a bit slow but otherwise I liked the ambience. It's nice and peaceful.
Visited amber at c.p and it was just fine.. Looked like a fine dine but the service didn't look like. Many of the middle age staff are serving there just like #Zen #TheHost #unitedcoffeehouse at C.p and it feels that they are annoyed to serve respectfully to the youngsters (maybe due to the age factor) , however it should not have been but I have repeatedly observed it. For a person like me, service matters a lot apart from happy hours or discounts, so I will consider this to the foremost.
Randomly step upon this place while looking for friends, I am very impressed with the layout and quality of food they have.The service is very slow here. You need to take action and hunt down a staff.Pricing wise is expensive. if you can hang around this area, I doubt money is an issue for you.

Truly toothsome 'North Indian' food as opposed to the greasy monotonous fare peddled as so. Tried a masala chicken curry, a mutton gravy, a mushroom with peas, dal fry, apart from tandoori chicken and malai tikka (it was a large gathering, hence the number of items). Definitely worth revisiting.

This is the place where come for proper dining, I highly ricmond for food lover time visit this place.
