One of the oldest coffee spot in CP, place is fully maintained by the government . Bunch of old people taking the test of coffee and quick bites , the space is not no furnished as per the CP. Some north and South Indian dishes is also available with the ice cream parlour. A decent and budget cafe with old cafeteria.
I tried veg cutlet, it was really good and cost around 50 bucks
Loved their open area. Reminded my of simple times. The essence of this place the simplicity. The proper desi place. Dosa, chowmien is pretty good but would want to try coffee every again there. Good place to meet friends or spend a evening reading a book there.

This is the one of the best hangout spots in CP. This place is maintained by the Government. It is a pure vegetarian restaurant. It is situated opposite to Hanuman Mandir. You will always find this place buzzing with people from all age groups especially senior citizens.
There is ample of parking space available.
Indoor as well as outdoor seating is available.
We personally like the outdoor seating a little more.

This place is one of the hidden gems in CP. A must visit places for food lovers. They are famous for their coffee, we tried cold coffee, filter coffee and machine made cappuccino. They were really amazing. For food we had masala disable, which was also amazing.

I went here today with my friends for light eats to coffee home located opposite hanuman mandir. We ordered coffee which was really good. We ordered noodles and plain Dosa and seriously it was too good i loved it. I would love to visit this place again.
Dining here will bring back that welcomed rush of nostalgia stock-piled inside you from a long time ago. If I am to tread carefully, I can easily identify Coffee Home as a primitive outfit of Haldiram's. Quite a striking similarity between their menus and operations! Coming back to the subject, it looks exactly like the other yesteryear establishments in Connaught Place, worn out yet active in spirit. These has its own share of loyal customers, mostly silver-haired groups, having a time of their life.
I couldn't witness their famed alfresco seating amidst massive trees, I was here for a quick bite. My only pain point is the pricing. I was charged Rs. 75/- for two micro, albeit silken Idlis with piquant Sambar and Coconut Chutney. Unlike the other reviews, I wouldn't tag Coffee Home as pocket friendly. It is good for light meals, long conversations and sentimentality.

It was my first visit. I was going with a friend and his brief beforehand was: He was unemployed. To find a cheap place to sit.
After some surprising hardword in choosing places, I finally locked in on this place.
We entered at around 5PM on a wednesday, and it was buzzing with people in its vast hall. It seemed stock with things, I thought, looking at old but Amul Shakes counter.
Umpteen old people groups were sitting in groups on each table. Yet there were some empty seats in sight.
Finally we walked past this vast indoor hall, into an open outdoor seating area. That was exciting. I could spot the sunset yellow sun behind the dense branches and leaves of banyan tree at the centre of this area. Again, this space had people already sitting on stone made chairs and tables, yet there were few or more tables vacant. My friend chose one near two girl sitting. Consciously or not.
After lot of time spent doing chatting, he went to order a chai for me and coffee for himself. It would have been around 5.45-6PM by that time. Banyan Tree in front of me looked pleasing and securing. There was also certain much appreciated silence in this space I sat. Surprisingly pleasing it was, since outside these four walls was CP. The roving scene.
Chai was.. I don’t remember drinking to write about it. But it would have been okay.
We sat discussing things till darkness came upon us. Finally we decided to leave, and used toilets. I am a male and used the standing one. It was usual space. Stinky but taps were working, there was some soap in wall dispenser.
There was also drinking water available for free, but being affected by dengue in recent, I did not want to take a chance.
We left by the same way we came: passing by that huge indoor hall, it still was buzzing with people. The place had a vibe.
My friend later remarked: ‘mast hai. I liked the energy field of this place.’
So I say, we had a good, satisfying experience at this place.

This place 'Coffee Home' is a really old place located in Cannaught place and serves the best FILTER COFFEE.
It also serves the South Indian food which is nicely cooked and delicious.
What I liked the most about this place was it is old but nicely maintained, the open area is so much beautiful and comfortable that i could spend hours talking to someone over a cup of coffee. Next time you cross this way surely visit this place, I'm gonna visit it too often from now..

There's no time in the day when this place is not full of people. This place has something to offer everyone, be it students or old people or families. All the government officials and other office going crowd who are in the close proximity of this place come here for lunch and tea. The open area in the backside of this place is fun to spend time, especially in winters.
The staff is very polite and the service is very fast. Their specialty, the Filter Coffee, is amazing. Also good is the Kesar Halwa served with cherries.

This is a place, which has something for everyone. You will find here, students preparing for competitive exams and taking breaks between two classes scheduled at nearby coaching. At one table, there are dating couples who do not want to spend much on flashy restaurants and just want to sit together without ordering anything. Another table has pensioners who want to catch up with their oldies. You may also notice pre-marriage meetings going on in one corner. Prospective groom being interviewed intensely and may be bride through all security checks by each other’s respective families.
It is a very big hall, with huge seating capacity and provides ample space to each one to enjoy their privacy publicly. In the backyard, they have a small open space a perfect low cost destination to sip tea in rainy season. The place offers clean washrooms and has parking in the vicinity.
Food is economical and value for money. Self-service is the USP, as no one comes to disturb you asking to place your order. You can sit all day, under the fan without spending a penny. Drinking water is free and no charge for use of basic facilities.
Their menu offers quick bite. Dosa, Idly, Chowmein, Fried rice, coffee and tea are mainly the consumables. I liked all the preparations, and they are best for the price offered. Sitting is basic, like that of a typical canteen.
This is an ideal place when you want to Catch-up with someone first time and have no intention of sitting in some high-end café. In addition, when food is not the priority and just need a place to sit down and talk. The place is open to all and still a well-maintained facility. The beauty of the place is it is publicly private.

Nothing to write songs about it is a massive place run by Delhi Tourism with sensible snacks on offer. It's a shame their Lunch and Dinner items are non existent but the Veg Biryani, Veg Manchow and Masala Dosa we ordered were satisfactory. The Kesari Halwa wasn't overly sweet but was dripping with oil so negative points for that.
I usually visit this place on Tuesdays around 3:30pm.

Visited this place sometime back in the evening hours (5ish). The place was full of people. The cafe is huge and there is an extended open portion also at the end.
Ordered, filter coffee and idli (have added pics too). You are supposed to make the payment at the main counter and then go to the relevant counter for coffee or food to place the order.
idli was soft and the sambhar was quite thick. it looked fresh and I enjoyed it. however I felt the price was high.
filter coffee was good and absolutely no complaints about it.
overall, the experience was good. I enjoy that old rustic ambience where you feel you are like a few decades behind in time.

In this ever-changing Delhi, this place still retains its significant charm. Being here can take you down nostalgia lane of early Delhi. It is still run by the government which explains the cheaper price.
I discovered this place a day because we couldn't find space in ICH and someone suggested to go across the road to this place.
The place is usually crowded and you can find people of all age groups. The place is huge and the seating arrangement is divided into two parts, one is a large closed canteen and the other is an outside seating area. There is self service and stuff’s performance is average.
Hospitality is where they lack. South Indian cuisine of the place is a delight and the filter coffee is something you should always order at this place, it just would not disappoint, especially if you’re sipping it alongside the Banyan Tree in the lobby. This place isn’t very fancy, so do not expect a fashionable cutlery. Cleanliness here is of acceptable level, though some may find it below average. It can be a bit noisy at times but this place is an experience in itself. It is a place for people who prefer pocket friendly, old school cafes.
Additional advantage over ICH - it has no monkeys and is at the ground floor!

I have been to Coffee Home a dozen times. You will always find this place a bit crowded because of cheap food and busy location.
The food quality is not compromised at all even it is amazingly cheap.
Price- The prices of dishes is low because it is run under the Delhi Government tourism industry.
The place is really a must visit for their amazing blend of spices in dosa and idli sambhar.

3rd feb at 5 Pm.Had heard a lot about this place.. and more over their filter coffee.. and as our elders described about this place, this place was just like that.. as if this place denies to be changed and stay old school... very spacious and the outer area where you can relax and enjoy their cuisine (and filter coffee obviously!! ) The staff is very friendly (despite being Delhi govt. employees!! :P ) their southern food is tasty and inexpensive too. The good, old, friendly and nostalgic Coffee Home! Have seen it the way it is, for quarter of a century myself, and have heard similar lines from parents also.
Coffee Home still retains its charm - simple, reasonable, open (not stuffy), family-friendly, and limited menu but good food. Offers a good break in between your market surfing sessions and can be a decent lunch / dinner place too, if Dosa - Vada / Idli satisfies you. The cutlets are still shaped in a leaf shape, the way they were 2 decades ago. The place is clearly unperturbed by the plethora of fancy, swanky and "urban" cafes.
With a beautiful outdoor seating and a simple indoor seating, the place is weather proof.
Now we can replace it with ICH atleast. We were waiting frm 9.00 am till 11.00 am. And it was open just to housefull their cafe in minutes. So we liked the outer area and their filter coffee. Much better. We liked their south indian course. I am surely coming here again to work and relax.

I had been visiting couple of year ago.. this place.. that place was epicenter of connaught place among the couple. students, old aged people.. official meeting point..
Filter coffee was the major attraction followed by Banyan Tree in the lobby. :D
an ample place.. but not properly maintained by NDMC . Varieties of Tea, coffee and South Indian snacks are available.. I had been eating Veg cutlet, coffee , sandwiches.
People preferred Filter coffee over Nescafe Coffee Vending machine.
You will wait sometime as people occupied the space for several hours

A coffee lover can be anywhere. As there is not a variety of coffee flavor but Cappuccino was there. The presentation is quite good with their services. No matter where you are just enjoy the coffee.
Nice place... Just opposite to hanuman mandir... Ordered dosa sambhar with filter coffee... Though coffee was much stronger than I expected.... Dosa sambhar was nice to have.... Its a pocket friendly and the best part is an open lawn to eat.... Loved that part...

Let me first admit I am an incurable romantic and a sucker for old world charm. Hence my review of Coffee Home may be biased.
Having confessed that, I have been longing to visit this iconic place for a long time now and finally last Saturday I could make it. We arrived there at around 11:30 pm. It was a pleasant winter morning, Coffee Home was occupied yet not too crowded. After having placed our order and collecting the food, we headed straight for the famous outdoor seating area at the back yard beneath the ancient banyan tree. I just loved the ambiance. However, I feel in summer it will be even more inviting with the shade the banyan tree offers. In winter it is blocking the much welcome sunlight. Yet the yard, the tree, people chitchatting in a relaxed mood made it a very pleasant place.
As a restaurant, it is not a fancy place at all with chipped crockery, stone seating and a limited menu. But I found cleanliness of acceptable level and price very pocket friendly. We had filter coffee, sambhar vada and vegetable cutlet. Vada was very good, sambhar and chutney was ok. Vegetable cutlet was more like aloo tikki but I liked it. I would like to comment on filter coffee as I am more of nescafe person. So, it does not disappoint as an eatery too.
All in all, a very happy experience. Should visit at least once.

Coffee-Home is a historic place in Connaught Place, Central Delhi. Probably it's quite possible that you are the 3rd or the 4th generation who is coming to this place. The place is very economical and serves as a get-together joint for all the retired population/senior citizens of the city. The home has both the options of sitting indoors and outdoors( on the granite bench under the banyan tree). Opens at 11 am. in the morning and goes up to 8pm in the evening and is accessible all 7 days of the week. Must visit if you are coming to Connaught Place and want to taste some local/indigenous food and filter coffee.
Coffee Home in Connaught Place is a popular destination for coffee lovers in the heart of New Delhi run and managed by Delhi Tourism. The café has a retro vibe with simple and traditional decor, which gives a nostalgic feeling. This place is recently renovated and is more clean & hygienic. The taste of food is good and some of the best served dishes are veg cutlet, dosa and filter coffee. Budget friendly cafe with ample seating and friendly staff. Must visit.
The veg chow mein was amazing. We ordered two plates and it was good enough for 4 people. The noodles were cooked through and went well with the 3 cold coffees and iced teas the group ordered. It was a nice snack and drink stop to have while checking out all the different state emporium shops. I think the emporium is a nice sampling of the cultures of India so having a convenient place to eat here is also great. Definitely a good stop if in the area souvenir shopping!
Very reasonable at such a prime location. The filter coffee was really good, but to be frank the dosa could be really better. The service is super fast and the seating arrangement is really good.
You may have to share your table if it's crowded. Generally it's full, there is also an outside space to sit. It attracts lot of young crowd as well, it's an initiative by Delhi government which is good.
Proper handwash and washrooms are available.
A very reasonable place to have South Indian food and few North Indian items. Located in front of Hanuman Mandir and has undergone through renovations recently. Now this cafe is fully air conditioned and offers decent seating space along with outer seating space as well. The food price is very reasonably priced and preparation of food is also hygienic. Their filter coffee is awesome.
They have revamped the space. It has a wonderful outdoor seating right outside it. The age old sandstone benches and tables but lovely setting , they are around a tree. It is always crowded , never have I seen the place empty. One has to wait there for a table , usually. And the best part about the place is that it is in the middle of everything and later on a chai and pakoda outside coffee home is a bonus. Nice place for idyllic chatting and being part of the old world charm , the charm we 80s kids grew up with. The menu is bAsic , like any other fast food restaurant. Is the food something to write.home about - no! But is it bad? No! It is nothing unique , it's basic and basic tasty. Overall , got some time on your hands and especially in winters this place is heaven.
Bonus tip - the pkode wala bhaiya outside is amazing , especially with the kulhad chai and pakoda chutney.
The major problem you will face here is seating issue…people here don’t leave the tables even after eating.

One of the best and unique places in Delhi to have great conversation on Chai/Coffee managed by Delhi Tourism. Its courtyard with Banyan Tree surrounded by concrete sitting structures is my favourite. But you won't be able to enjoy your food under the tree due to Monkeys menace. Another great characteristic of this place is that you'll spot many old age friends having great time over Chai and food. You'll rarely get to feel such vibes in Delhi except CR Park market. Food quality is good - I love their filter coffee and Kesar Halwa. Winter season is best to visit this place and mornings/evenings in summer.
Coffee home is a good place to eat north indian food they serve north indian food with cool drink, tea, coffee or soup whatever you like. There are also open area where you can enjoy you meals.
I used to visit this during my college days. Recently visited again and found the place to be crowded with all age groups. This is situated opposite Hanuman Mandir in Connaught Place. This coffee house is walking distance from shivaji stadium metro station and in between state emporiums. Decent food at reasonable cost #CP # Food #Delhi #India
Basically, it's a Cafe house for old aged people. (Not a criticism).
I have been to this place many times and found most of the time that old people have fun, talk and discussion there.
Food: 4 star (Food taste good.)
Service: 4 star (Although it's a self service there, but somehow tables are not cleaned after people leave, I need to ask or tell them to clean the tables)
Atmosphere: is normal
A budget friendly food outlet which provides some good quality snacks and coffee/tea. You can sit outside on a quiet peaceful evening with a friend or spend some time alone. Its not usually crowded.

Foods are vegetarian & options available only south Indian foods. Price wise, it is a cheaper as compare to Connauht place are but this is a crawdy. In the peek hour it is possible you will have to wait until option available for seating.
There has no control of staff, if you find any vacant seat, you can seat before other get.
Over all foods are tasty and cheaper.
Reasonable prices as compared to quality restaurants. Comfortable seating and quality food. Tried everything on menu and food quality was good and beat this it's almost not spicy which is best for elder citizens and people who have problem related to spicy food.
