Authentic old Delhi eatery - food n sweets made in ghee (high quality fatty oil). Chole bhature are very good. And lassi in kulhad is awesome. I declined the rose syrup on top.
In the pic is a menu and the guy standing at the counter is a waiter who has been working there since 6 years old!
Worth the hype. Must visit once. Everything from the puri to the chole to the pickle was amazing.
Another good legendary option for breakfast in chawri Bazaar, almost a 6 decade old eatary. Do try Halwa Malpua and Chole Puri. Lasii de Naal. They do desi ghee sweets too.
We started our old delhi food walk from this place and towards the end came back here only to end it.. to get food packed for home. Which clearly states this was the best. Light and crisp poori with cholley, one piece of Aloo and one gheeye ka kofta, served alongwith pickle, it tasted really good. N
One of the best sweet shops in Chandni Chowk, Standard sweets serve brilliant sweets and even other food items. I tried the paneer pakoda and samosa, apart from jalebis and lassi. And it was brilliant! The taste still lingers on my tongue.
If you're in Chandni Chowk, you must definitely visit Stand
We have been a customer for decades now. The sweets are many steps ahead in terms of quality and taste as compared to many other shops. They also serve food, snacks, tea, coffee, lassi and have some seating arrangement. Sweets are priced competitively.
Nice place,We had a halwa of semolina, honey and saffron with a breakfast of spicy chick peas, paratha, potatoes. It was delicious and safe eating. Old Delhi is an old, rough neighborhood. Better to go with a local the first time or in a group of people.
A good sweet shop in old Delhi streets. Most of their items are delicious but the sitting area is small which you should expect in old city restaurants.
Food quality good
Excellent thali .. specially the standard thali. Specially made in pure Desi ghee. Best place to eat in chawdi bazar
It's kind of a heritage now for Old Delhi. Known for it's sweets and Poori. This shop is pretty old and by the crowd you see there at almost all hours you can predict how good they are.
Ideally one of the places you should go to on your Delhi 6 Food Walk
