The ambience is good. Staff is courteous and prompt. The raja mirchi chutney will make you cry ( unless and until) you are habitual to it. The yam and pork curry dish is superb. I can keep on going about this place. They specialise in naga cuisine, if you interested then only go there

I really like the food here. the black sesame pork is great and so is the chicken basket in the appetizers. I also like the chill vibe with all the bamboo furniture. four stars because you can get cheaper versions of this food in humanyupur but if you want ambience with your northeastern food, come here.

So this is the place to come to whenever my friends and I want to catch up over a beer or two after work. the decor and ambience are very chill and relaxing.

We usually wash down our beer with some delicious naga food like the pork ribs, momos and buff salad. everything is accompanied by the tastiest and spiciest raja mirchi.

love it!

Here's a place that I would definitely never forget about when I think of good quality spicy food. An authentic Nagaland restaurant with an extremely pleasing ambience. Mild rock music playing in the background. A pint of beer for just 100 bucks. But I'm not here to tell you about this, the main point of attraction was the Naga Raja Mirchi, a chicken dish with a soup like gravy stirred in one of the hottest chilli I ever came across. Mind you, just because it's hot doesn't mean that this dish looses on its taste. My recommendation is to try it with some rice and chilled beer (you will remember the unique buzz).

Big ol' five from me! A must visit place in Hauz Khas.

We had been planning to check out something different, and finally chose Naga cusine. It took us to Dzukou. Located in Hauz Khas, it's a quaint place with impressive and spacious interior design. There is no loud music, no one breathing down your back, and it definitely is one of the very few less crowded places to relax and enjoy a drink or two. The restaurant thankfully does not serve north indian staples. I think it's a good strategy and helps them focus in serving the best Naga food ever. Hope they stick with it.
We ordered Buff fry and chicken basket for starters. Both were super awesome paired with cold fruit beer. Buff fry reminded me of the "onakka erachi" dish from Kerala - shredded, dried and fried to spicy perfection. Chicken basket also was fabulous - tiny bite size pieces coated with typical Naga chilly mix and topped with spring onion. Glad that none of the regular spices were used to adulterate the authentic taste.
Raja mirchi which is used in Naga food is said to be one of the spiciest chillies in India. And after having their signature raja chilly chutney, I am very much inclined to believe that. But at the same time, it was so full of flavour that I couldn't resist myself from having it! Good that we had ordered sticky rice and pork curry to have with it. Pork curry was one of the best I had till date, second only to the pork and bamboo shoots cooked by a Naga friend of mine. The gravy was exceptional, simple yet with layers of flavour. Pork was extremely well cooked and delectable. The only dish that I didn't love was the sticky rice, it slightly brought down the flavour profile of pork. Probably plain rice would have been more appropriate to pair with the curry. Some may find portion size to be less compared to the price they charge, but personally we felt the portions were adequate since the spice level automatically put a check on our intake.
All in all, we visited the place just to tick a box but were pleasantly surprised by the experience. If you love your meat, then do give it a try, it's worth it. If you are have a penchant for spicy food, then you are in for an amazing ride. Will I visit again? Yes, very soon!

The place has a beautiful and chilled out ambience, although one can't guess from the outside as it doesn't have a big banner or sign board. The cleanliness, lighting, lovely gesture from the people there will make you instantly love the place.
Coming to food, we ordered smoked pork chops for starters and as expected it was delicious..not overlooked and was so juicy it melted in mouth. The skins were not hard at all when barbecued. For main course we ordered pork with axhuni and smoked pork with sesame seeds. Very nicely cooked and gave us the feel of authenticity.
Overall a very nice relaxing and sumptuous experience.. will visit again
P.S. This restaurant was on my wish list since the day I tried their pork ribs at north east festival in 2016 at delhi.

Booked at Dzukou on sunday and the confirmation was quick. They were very polite to call us and reserve our seats even when we were 15 min late not because they are empty as the place was bustling late at night. The staff is very helpful and courteous.
Coming to the food everything was really tasty from pork ribs to fish fry. We ordered a lot for 6 people along with drinks and the bill came around 8k which is justified given the amount we ate. My personal fav was the pork chops and buff fry. Only complaint is that the bar provides only a few drinks compared to the menu it boasts. Keeping that aside it is worth your time. Will definitely visit again!

This place is quite underrated. It is a quiet place with nice food in a quiet market. Their chicken pakoda basket, buff fry and pork ribs are yum! The momos are a tad bit dry though. A must visit for people who love spicy food.

Being a great enthusiast of northeastern food, Dzukou Tribal Kitchen was a much needed new kid on the list!! Accompanied by my bestie on a beautiful rainy evening, when I stepped in this place, the very first word that we uttered in unison was "woww"!! The decor, the setting, the choice of music everything had that rustic and mundane feel to them. The staff were extra courteous.. and knew the stuffs enlisted in the menu very well.. Helpful, tending to suggestions , ever smiling, and accommodating!!
We ordered two pork recipes because basically our idea was to gorge on pork that evening :-) we happily settled with Pork in black Sesame paste & Pork with bamboo shoot gravy with steam rice. Chilled beer added extra bliss!
Pork with Bamboo shoot was very balanced, rightly cooked and the consistency of the gravy was very authentic, it's thin but not watery! We really liked that a lot. Coming to Pork sesame paste, I kinda felt that it was falling short of some ingredient, because I had this particular dish at two other reputed & authentic nagamese places, so.. It was not at par. Moreover, I found the pork pieces in that hard! But quantity wise, both the dishes were good and they were enough for 3 people.
Overall, it was worth the visit, although pricey, but to savour northeastern delicacies, this place is a must visit!

A very quite place with a very peaceful ambience. Spacious sitting arrangement. The food is good, but you need to have a taste for tribal north Eastern food to like it.

The staff is very friendly and they helped us understand the menu. The friendly staff even allowed me to use their computer to charge my phone (and then allowed me to scan the computer , without me asking, to check is something was inadvertently transferred from my phone).

We had ordered pork ribs and other totally Naga dishes. My friends could hardly eat the naga chilli chutney, but I loved it. Although they had a lot on the drinks menu, in a realty they only were serving kingfisher beer. So disappointed there.

Overall, if you want to try out Naga cuisine and need a nice quite place where you can hear yourself talk, this is a good choice.

We ate her for a second time within two months, as I found the food, ambiance, decor, and service excellent. The only thing which needs to be improved is the signage outside, and the elevator going up. Unless you know where it is, you cant find it. You enter a small room which claims to be a bank ATM, but is a dimly lit lobby of the tiny lift.. You can take that, or climb up 3 flights of starirs.
Once you enter, It is a large roomy restaurant, with uncluttered  low tables and chairs. There is a lot of open space between tables which gives a great sense of space. The decor is very tastefully done up.
The service is very good, Very pleasant hosts. The food ( which is why you come here) , was excellent. Every dish was good, but specially the Pork & chicken Momos, the chicken wings, and the Soaked pork Black Sesame curry, were Amazing.
And they had beer.
A place definitely to go back to.

We discovered Dzukou in the middle of a drab and exhausting week and it came prancing into our life like sunshine. I have been here thrice since and sadly, the menu has changed in the recent past making the already limited menu even more constricted.

Their momo's, pork chops, Chicken basket (Earlier called as fried chicken), Chicken gravy with ginger & green onions with sticky rice are pure love. Don't expect Indianized cuisine here and be sure to eat their chilli sauce that they serve with all the above mentioned items. Spicy & the tastiest sauce ever. I love the kolhapuri thecha & their naga chilli paste gives it s solid competition in terms of taste & flavor. I took some back home the last time & applied it on bread and ate every single day.

I love their seating- it's low so you can sink in, stretch your legs and get comfy. The service is friendly but do call beforehand & check if they are serving the Beer you want, so that you're not disappointed later. I love Dzukou and I love naga cuisine.

Another reason I love this place is the crowd, no paneer tikka dal makhani butter naan & loud families here ;) This place is a respite from the crowded restaurants, typical food & 'madam- happy hours, ladies night. good crowd. Please come' places of HKV. Expect a laid back atmosphere here. Yes

Wowza. I've been living in India for four months and this is far and away the most interesting meal I've had - the food was spicy, wildly flavorful, wonderfully cooked, and a fascinating glimpse into Naga cuisine. The atmosphere is warm and low-key, and the wait staff was good. You can get a good selection of drinks, but I can't say enough about the food - go here! Go! Perhaps the most memorable meal I've ever, ever eaten. I'm in love.

In Mao the word Dzükou means like dream because of its mystic charm and beauty.
This restaurant has the very feel of Northeast. On my last visit Traffic Jam; a very famous northeastern band was playing our favorite rock tunes.

Food is authentic, and the owner and head chef Karen makes sure that the very best ingredients are used in each dish.
This is a place for meat lovers, with Delhi walas favorite momos, to various authentic dishes made from pork and buff.

Music, Food and Raja Mircha all of them take you to the most beautiful state of India and back. Do check out the fresh Bamboo shoot and chili pickles near the billing counter.
Service is just superb, you taken care of and pampered.
I recommend
Starters: Buff salad, fried pork, chicken basket
Main Course: Smoked pork curry, Chicken with bamboo shoot and Naga rice (sticky rice).

Good food, interesting ambience. The Pork dishes are spectacular. Unfortunately some of the Buff dishes was not available. Try the Crispy Pork Chops, Smoked Pork Curry and Sticky Rice. The Chicken in Yam Paste wasn't that great. I found it a little pricey though for the ambience it had. And I couldn't understand the obsession of the staff with switching off lights even while we were there.

I'd try some other Naga Food Joints in the vicinity before giving an unequivocal nod to this place.

Dzukou kitchen named after the beautiful valley is a quiet, spacious, traditional Naga establishment serving stumptuous Naga food. You have to 'trek' to this kitchen as the elevator is defunct(watch out for your special friends) but one has to build an appetite and I gladly climbed them stairs.
The seating is on very comfortable cane chairs on which you can strech your legs and the table is plain raw rustic old good wood.
As usual, the ambience was accentuated with a smashing playlist which worked up our Pavlovian appetites. Kudos to the management and staff for your taste in music and not having a DJ blaring system.
Traditional naga handicrafts and carpentry surround you with photographs showing the birth pangs of the establishment and gigs.
Now for the serious part; no serious naga food lover says no to pork. And so it was an all pork affair.
We ordered naga pork chops which were well done and very juicy washed down with our friendly Bira (Pb 01name but manufactured in Madhya Pradesh!)beer.
For main course we had the holy trinity of naga food with rice- fresh pork with bamboo shoots, boiled seasonal vegetables and raja mircha chutney with long beans.
The fresh pork curry with bamboo shoot was packed with flavour, starchy and without the oiliness. There was a balance of fatty and meaty pieces. But I loved them bony pieces! Enjoyed the spinal cord and neeves thoroughly.
The raja mircha with long beans chutney in my opinion lacked the punch but I guess it was to adjust to the local taste and their lack of resiatance to the king chilly. I guess there was half a raja mircha in it!
But the crown goes to the boiled seaaonal vegetables which had the colour, the crunch and the taste which took me back to the days when I was in Kohima. Perfectly done boiled seasonal veggies are hard to construct people and these guys have mastered it. This humble dish done well has put a feather on your cap.

Dzukou is a staple for us to the say the least - ever since bit first opened at HK Village. Since then - they have long since upgraded to a much larger space for the most refreshing experience. The decor is cool, the low seating adds to a massive sense of space and the bamboo interiors almost isolate you from the rest of delhi for a little while (very happily)

I have visited Dzukou over 70-80 times now surely and Naga food has become a staple in my diet. Dzukou is now like a family living room where we can come and relax for a bit .. eat great food .. listen to great music .. have a couple of pints... order the same menu of pork chops .. chicken basket .. buff salad ... chicken axhone .. smoked pork Anishi and yard lining bean chutney with raja mircha. We always relish the food ... pardon the inconsistency (which sometimes sneaks into the food) and celebrate our time there. Karen is the most wonderful host and you will surely have a super time !

Another one from one of the seven sisters of India. Calm, beautiful, true relaxing, these are some words that can describe this speciality restaurant.

Situated at the Hauz Khas main market, a little tough to locate if you are going for the first time. Try Google Map to find out without getting lost and wasting your time of course. The elevator to the restaurant is a mess. Try not to take that one if you are faint hearted.

Apart from all these, the restaurant is as calm as a stone river

When it comes to food, first let me tell you that Naga food is not for everyone. By that, I mean they have a very different taste, aroma and way of preparing them. Regular North Indian spices are the last thing they use in any of their foods. Boiled foods with Axoni/Akhuni (Fermented Soyabean) are their main ingredient.

You can also grab some quality Rice Beer at the weekends which is rare in Delhi. Apart from the Rice Beer, all other Indian and other IMFLs are also available there.

No doubt, if you love food, you definitely try Naga food and come here for a change of taste. But before coming here leave your regular North Indian palate aside, or you won't be able to enjoy the food.

Bon appetit

Oh My God. What amazing food they serve!
They're the GO TO for not just authentic Naga food, but also for the most YUM pork!
We ordered Pork Momos - one of the very few places that make Momos just the perfect way! It was served with Raja Mircha chutney! This chilli has it's own flavour!
And then we had Smoked Pork with Sesame Sauce. The sauce is pitch black, and when you chew into the pork, it's red, and soft, and juicy, with all the flavours in it! That, with sticky rice. Heaven!!!
And the interiors! Damn cute and cozy.
It isn't too crowded. It's a place to peacefully enjoy a lovely conversation and have some out of the world food!

This is the ultimate place for me to chill ... Especially as it's a Pork lovers paradise . The place is on the 3rd floor in Hauz Khas , E block , a bit on the inner side . It may not be easy to find at first , but Google maps to the rescue .The entrance is from the rear of the building . Once you enter the place , you are transported to the North East .... Peaceful with the sound of water falls ...
Service is with a smile and a lot of helpful suggestions to help you decide .
I ordered a Pork with yam curry along with a red sticky rice .... I skipped the starters but could not resist the chutney , ordering a dry Fish chutney with Raja Mirch .I can't describe how much I enjoyed the meal ... the red rice was fantastic and I was eating all by my self . Please don't attempt to eat here ALONE as the servings are definitely large , at least for two if not three people . I had a chilled beer along with the meal ... Missing out on the local brew as its only available on weekends .
I have to visit this place on my next trip to Delhi ... On my MUST DO LIST .
Pocket pinch is average .
For these three things , which could be shared by two people , the bill was just Rs. 1150/ inclusive of a beer !!

Sometimes spicy and sometimes tangy is what the layman’s definition of Naga cuisine might look like. However, if one devotes a peculiar interest in finding out more about this cuisine, he/she might find that it is not merely spicy or tangy but has way more qualities that make it rare and a bit different from the others. For me Naga has always been a delight, by now I have tried various preparations at various places and hence been able to form a firm judgment about it. A few days ago a friend informed me about Dzukou over a phone call and asked me to visit it at the earliest. It is located in Hauz Khas and might not be very difficult to locate. The interiors out here are well designed to provide you a soothing dining experience. If we talk about the varieties, there are ample of them and hence it might be a little difficult for the people to place the order immediately.

I had the following on my visit-

Grey Goose Vodka- Had a refreshing taste and hence felt good.

Pork Chops- Nicely cooked and tasted very nice. My favorite among all.

Chicken Wings- The pieces were thankfully not chewy and the taste was also fine.

Stir Fried Mushrooms- Not very oily and comes with a spicy taste. Likeable.

Naga Sticky Rice- Tasted good and goes very fine with the curry preparations.

So ultimately If I had to sum Dzukou in a nutshell describing its good qualities briefly, I would say that it is a beautiful looking place that serves a fine quality of naga cuisine items with a very good preparation of pork.

FINAL TAKE-

Ambience: Oh-so-gorgeous place. We got the table with the low-seating. You can kick your shoes off and make yourself at home, surrounded by the sweet lemon-grassy aroma.

Food: The sticky rice is amazing. I had the naga beans and bamboo shoot curry. The portions were very good, just perfect for one person. Well-seasoned and mom-like.

Staff: Courteous and kind but the service was very slow, considering we were the only customers there on a sunday night.

What mars the experience is the slow service and the high prices for the food they serve. The food is simple and homely and the bill should reflect that. Do try this place is you want a peaceful and fulfilling meal and don't mind the wait or the high price.

Lovely ambience. It's very cosy and perfect for that tight group of friends. Great staff too. Went on a Friday evening so it was a little full and service took a while - but that's alright for a busy night. Liked the starters more than the mains. Ordered a pork and bamboo shoot curry but didn't like it as much as I liked the pork chops, chicken wings and the stir fried mushrooms. The crispy fried fish was great (I didn't eat it - so this is from someone who did). The raja mirchi chutney is smashing. It is SUPER spicy and so perfect.

Finally came here for dinner after hearing so much about it. So a group of us came on a weekday, it was not crowded but not empty either. My sheer love for pork is what immediately made me order the crispy shredded pork, ribs and buff fry special along with beer. To my surprise, the food came in real quick.

All the dishes pure perfection. The pork was crispy, deep fried to a golden brown perfection and the meat was tender and so juicy. The buff was like beef jerky just more flavourful. Once you eat it, you can't really stop till the whole plate is over.

Didn't really have space for the main course but I will be coming here soon to satiate my deep fried pork cravings.

The ambience in Dzukou is great. I like the communal tables that allowed us to sit and eat with others. The pork momos had a hint of something smoked in them which made me want to eat more. The pork chops were crispy and cooked just the right amount. The fish with fresh bamboo shoot, however, did not have much flavour. Nonetheless, dzukou has a comfortable and inviting vibe that just makes you want to relax and enjoy your time there.

My first experience with the cuisine of Nagaland, and I must say that I was contended to the core. We had made prior reservations for the place, and it took us some time to search for the place but the people at Dzukou were more than happy to help us out with directions.
As soon as we entered we were greeted by low seated chairs and beautiful Tribal Ambience with huge mirrors which made the place look even more spacious than it was. Moving on to food, the waiter recommended us to try the Smoked Pork and Sticky Rice for main course.
We started with Toshu Chef's Buff Fry which was basically shredded Beef crisp Fried to perfection. It was spicy and crisp and extremely crunchy. Absolute perfection. For main course, we had Smoked Pork Curry with Yam and Axone and Chicken Curry with Ginger and Green Onions. The sticky rice was red in color had a beautiful earthy smell. It has to be eaten warm or hot even, else the rice coagulates really fast which makes it difficult to eat after it has gone cold. The Pork had an amazing Smoked flavor and was soft and juicy, the Yam added to the thickness of the gravy. As I prefer my gravy to be thick, I didn't quite like the Chicken Curry. Having said that, it was full of flavors and filling, but it seemed a bit broth-y to me, but maybe that's because of my biasness to thick creamy gravies. All in all, a wonderful experience with dinner, ambience and also the ever charming waiter.

New place is great too..... They serve the best beef salad.... They don't have too much on menu though...shouldn't miss out on the chicken steamed momos.... It may sound cliché but they are worth.... I bet u can't get enough of them.... So juicyyyy n mouth watering....

Nice place for a quite evening 🤗🤗🤗

Lovely ambiance. Happy, smiling service. Lip-smacking snacks that went perfectly with the wine. Perfect foot-tapping music. A perfect social gathering spot. Ideal for frens, family and Meetings over beer! We went for snacks just to explore the place and were completely stunned by this hidden place!

Completely in love with ambiance.

If you can handle the fire, this is the place for you! Been here a couple of times, the staff is warm & welcoming (especially Anthony) but the service is a little slow (not a place to go to if you're too hungry and looking for instant food) but the food is worth the wait. Raja mirchi chicken with naga sticky rice & raja mirchi chutney (this steals the show) - best of what the menu has to offer!

Another gem serving great tribal cuisine from the northeast. The momos here, especially the vegetarian ones, would be one of the best in Delhi. The pork belly was cooked to perfection as well. I only had a bit of disappointment with the quality and quantity of the dishes in the main course. Definitely could have been better on both counts. The fact they serve beer along with those fantastic momos scores above everything else. Worth a visit.

India has so much culture!!! The place is run by Nagas and it serves authentic tribal cuisine. So it has no comparable and its a unique experience on its own. The place has decor other tribal art and craft from Nagaland and it's quite large. Could perhaps seat about 30 odd people. Really nice ambient music. Tried starters (saluted veg) and a mix veg gravy with sticky Naga rice. I must say though the flavours are very subtle due to the taste of veggies and not the overpowering masalas. Yeah they do have their version of green chilli paste, yummy. Trivia bhootjaloka from north east is the spiciest chilli in the world.

This is a place hidden away in lanes. This is my first time trying out NAGA cuisine I got to say it will rock you. The smoked pork with sticky rice is great. Do ask them to recommended if you are a first timer. If I am not wrong you may even end up getting some great momo's here. The place is tastefully decorated.

Ate here last night. The food was great and the service was very attentive and friendly. Really appreciate that the food is not North-Indianized or toned down. We ate the buff fry, the Naga chicken wings, pork ribs, fresh pork with axone, chicken with anishi, dry fish with rice starch and tomatoes and Naga rajma curry with fresh bamboo shoot. Ate it all with sticky rice. The chutneys with the starters were excellent (very hot) as was the raja mirchi chutney with pumpkin seeds we got with the other dishes. Everything was good and I recommend it all. If we lived in Delhi we would eat here regularly. Prices are good too.

I haven't finished my food yet and I have decided to write this review !!! Phenominal food !! So we ordered the nagar pork chops. Deep fried pure heaven , but it had little too much fat for my liking , nevertheless we finished it .
Main course -
Buff chutney we n opted for raja chillies instead of green . Loaded with flavor . Warning : Not for the faint hearted who is afraid of spice !!
Pork in bamboo shoot - beautiful dish loaded with pure flavor of pork and bamboo shoot with some green onion . Decent on spice .
Aniseed chicken - yam leaves grinded which formed a gravy . What an amazing dish . Warning spice level way to high .
Naga sticky rice : came to our surprise they were semi black . The rice had great texture to it and eating semi black rice added more to the excitement.

We love spice . Even if by the end of it our head was dizzy with the spice But we would do this again tmrw !!

Must visit this place for a hearty warm welcoming Naga food

A massive place, this is, as compared to most other North-eastern joints that have opened up recently. And the food is just the kind that'll make you burp in delight. And hey, they serve tap Bira too.
Handy tip: Turn right, the moment you enter and head to the big table in the corner. The low table with cushions and floor seating (slightly elevated, of course).
And in case you are a regular at Nagaland's Kitchen (like I was), try this place for sure. You just might switch allegiances. Like I did.

I have been hearing a lot about this place for quite some time now . Please do note it's in Hauz Khas Main Market not in Hauz Khas Village .
I would rate this place 4 for the tribal ambience ,fragrance of lemon grass was just awesome . It's been done quite neatly .
For the food I would rate it surprisingly 3 .
When you hear a lot about a place and then you decide to visit it choosing over so many Naga restaurants in the Safdarjung Enclave , it have to be special n worth it . But it wasn't the case in our experience .
We were in a great mood to try Naga food (I am a big fan of Naga Pork Curry ) . We chose one particular table where we took off the shoes and sat all relaxed up just ready for the experience but the very first dish was a complete disappointment . We started off with beer . In the name of Shredded Beef we got the 'deep fried beef pickle ' . Trust me I have had beef pickle of very good quality , flavorful , meaty , less chewy and beautifully spiced but the one we got here was a failure , completely opposite . It should not be served in a restaurant and certainly at not this price n not by this name .
The next dish was pork chops to go with beer . It was deep fried chunks of pork with skin ( visible hair too )n fat on too . Came on skewers .
It tasted well at the beginning but gradually all the flaws came in . Since the chunks varied in sizes the deep frying spoiled some smaller chunks , the skin became chewy like rubber . One could also see fried hair too .The accompanying chutney was nice though .
It was getting uncomfortable to sit now as there was no carpet but just a thin mat .
We ordered chicken basket expecting assorted chicken snacks . There was just one chicken preparation deep fried coated chicken breast . It was an ok ok dish but towards the end it became unbearable too . The same chutney as with pork chops accompanied . By this time we had finished couple of beers and our mood of trying more Naga dishes . You feel bad when you expect a lot . Pork curry with rice was on my mind all the time but We had lost the desire to order main course .
I feel even if you claim to serve the tribal food the real authentic one you need to refine the food to some extent especially when you are charging so much for the same , you can't just serve anything ( like beef pickle ).
Please refine the food give a touch of finesse . Thanks

The chutney is hoo....oot and delicious - for those who do not have spicy food ...go easy on the chutney. Waiters also very friendly and well mannered.

A huge painting of Naga women, clad in traditional tribal attire welcomes you at the entrance. The no-frills yet comfortable wooden seating arrangement complements the eatery’s inclination to simplicity. The menu yet again is short and straight to the point. But I prefer to opt for dishes from the ‘Today’s Menu’ section, usually handwritten on a whiteboard.

Without bothering much about the starters, we went on an overdrive with the main course. It’s a non-vegetarian’s delight. Having said that a vegetarian would also find a dish or two that’s not only different but also is a treat for the taste buds. We started with their signature dish, Smoked pork with Bamboo shoot. It’s melt-in-mouth softness actually gave us an inkling about the dishes we were yet to savour. A nice amalgamation of almost all the flavours. Tangy, salty, hot and above all, delicious! But the dish that takes the cake with the cherry on top is Pork with Raja Mirch. Raja Mirchi, hailed as one of the hottest chilies in the world gave it a fiery flavour. But the more we felt the fire finding its way to our guts, the more we were digging into it. Simply put, irresistible! Another side dish that deserves a mention is the Buff Chutney. An apt coupling of buff meat paste and chilies, its unique flavour lingers on your taste buds. All these dishes were relished with sticky rice, served in traditional wooden cutlery.

Though every morsel was a delight but I guess it’s a place not meant for those who are happy with the regular fare. Less usage of oil and not a bit of garam masala makes the dishes score real high on the taste scale.

The staff, a little rickety with their English, is extremely courteous and well-mannered.

Unpretentious and simply good food. Go for it!

The tribal kitchen is an awesome place for some north eastern food. The seating arrangement is low and perfect for big groups. You can even go on beautiful dates here, the ambience is absolutely lovely. One can say, that it's what you are being charged for as the restaurant is little on the expensive side.

The food is equally amazing, be it vegetarian or non vegetarian. If you're a pork lover, do try a pork dish there. However the place is not for people who would not like to have homely and a little less spicy food. It's a place for people who enjoy north eastern cuisine.

Enjoy!

Very unassuming from outside, but once you enter, Dzukou Tribal Kitchen ensures a perfect experience both in terms of food and service. Authentic Naga cuisines, well-lit ambience, low sitting, and soothing music makes this place an absolute must for people who love north-east food. Porkribs, smoked pork curry, shredded beef fry and rice beer are must-try here. There's also a guitar for music lovers to strum while waiting for food. The service guys are efficient and polite. Overall, a highly recommendable place for foodies who value quality time spent over a meal.

I order from Dzukou because my wife loves the tang and heat of the Chicken Raja Mircha. I love my pork so it is a great combination. Today's meal, which included a pumpkin chutney and a Naga Rajma was a revelation. Both preparations were lovely.

But a restaurant is not just about the food that is served but also the setting. Dzukou is set in a large spacious 3rd floor of a building in Hauz Khas market. As cramped as the market is, equally airy and open is the restaurant. The dark wood panelling, the naga style seating all add to the charm of the place.

The only negative imo, is the pricing which is on the higher side. Our meal for two worked out, inclusive of taxes, to be upwards of Rs 2000.

This place having shifted from a roof top facing the Hauz Khas lake to a near roof top (third floor) in the Hauz Khas Main mkt, may have lost on some of the view but hasn't lost any of the charm. A small place made to look bigger by having low tables and fabric table partitions that can be raised or lowered as needed, this place offers some really sumptuous food too. A largely Naga menu features some wonderful bamboo shoot curries, a gorgeous dal, a delicious saag and of course the crispy pork and ribs.

Great North-Eastern Taste
People often visit region specific restaurants to get a taste of the food that they miss when they are far way from home. Having said that, with an exception of few restaurants, most falter to provide the authentic taste. With Dzukou Tribal kitchen, however, you can't complain the taste as well as the ambiance. They score 4.5 on both counts. Here is what I ordered:
Pork ribs - succulent as tasty
Smoked pork curry - Totally authentic taste
Alu Etusen gravy - best that you can get in NCR
Raja mirchi with dry fish - Dont try if you fear the chilly, else, awesome
Naga rice - Good

Overall - a nice experience and a good food day

The food was really good and something everyone should try once.

Went to this restaurant because of the pork festival that they are currently running. We had to call multiple times to understand the location. there was a pretty strong language barrier in getting the directions right.
We also got stuck in the lift and they had to switch it off to let us out.
We finally got to eat after all this.
But the food kind of made up for it. All stuff that we ordered was awesome. Starting with the chicken fry to shredded buff then moving on to pork belly in curry and pork head in sauce and also a raja mircha preparation.
It is quite clear that the chef knows what's
he doing and he creates top notch food.
Everything was well prepared and the flavours of north east food came out very well.
Super happy with the place.
I think the only problem is the lack of anyone speaking Delhi English or Hindi. There is an accent problem. The rest is all very very good.
Strong recommendation.

They were having a pork festival so I and my friend decided to have another good adventure as both of us are pork enthusiasts. The restaurant isn't that difficult to locate if one knows where Hauz Khas market is. It's located on the third floor but it's no problem as they do have a lift. The interior decor is quite nicely done with the whole bamboo set up giving a nice north eastern feel. On reaching there, we saw that the whole place was jam packed. There was no place to sit and the place had a heavy shortage of staff just due to the sheer volume of people who were present. Maybe they didn't anticipate such a huge turn out on a Saturday evening with the pork festival going on. Both of us decided that we'll order the most craziest dish they have on the menu. But we were quite dumbfounded when we saw pork tongue, jaws, ears and brain chutney on the menu. When it comes to food, both of us are quite daring. But not that daring I suppose. So we ordered pork chops and a few beers and waited while listening to the band. A special mention to the Nepali rock band playing there. They were really amazing. They played some really foot tapping numbers and set the mood for a great evening. Due to so many customers and a comparatively heavy shortage of staff our order took quite some time. But when it arrived the foodgasm began right from the moment I put the first piece of the juicy and soft pork chops. Too amazing. Then we ordered pork shoulders with rice. It was an amazing combination of muscle and fat cooked with a thin gravy, a perfect combination with rice. And the best part was that if you exclude the drinks, it just costs ₹500 per person. That's damn cheap for such an amazing time. The only negative point was that the service was delayed because so many people had come to that place.
But would I come back to this place again?? HELL YEAH!!

I have been to Dzükou quite a few times over the past 1.5 years - quite obviously it's a sea-change from your quintessential north Indian and North+Continental affair that used to be the staple of Delhi fine/casual-fine dining scene till about the late 2000s. There are three prominent North-Eastern restaurants in South Delhi that i have been to- Dzükou, Nagaland's Kitchen and Naga Bamboo. Out of those three, the strengths of this restaurant are the uniqueness of its cuisine and the relaxed dining environment. I was somewhat disappointed the last time I was here as the portions have become a bit meagre compared to the last time. But otherwise, the quality and service is top-notch. I had suggested to my partner that we don't get momos for two reasons: 1. why go to a speciality north-east restaurant only to eat dumplings 2. it isn't their forte so one cannot be sure of the age/freshness of the dumplings (or indeed, if they didn't come out of a bag). I would suggest the same to you - stick to the main course and side dishes. Cutlery and crockery: 5/5 Health quotient: viable, 4/5 Washroom: small but mostly clean and functional: 4/5 Ambience, food, etc. etc. : 5/5 Price to quantity ratio: used to be 4/5 but has now become 3/5. Bear in mind I am the kind of person who considers anything other than buffet breakfast at 5 stars a colossal inanity. And also I don't eat grains in dinner, so that is also a factor in the fulfilness of a meal. Beverage options: nothing for the health conscious tea-totaller: 1/5 Price for one diner: 1-1.2k Price for two diners: 1.4-2k Overall, i don't want to ding the place for my last visit, so 4/5 is fair. I wish they would do more events/music-nights though.

I am in the city for over a week, craving NE food. As I am staying fairly close to this place, I decided to give it a shot. The joint is a non descript little place tucked away in the corner of a shopping plaza. The food was to die for. I ordered fresh pork with bastenga, eromba, boiled veggies and steamed rice. I have to say it's the best Naga food I've tasted outside of the NE region. The problem was the service. Another, the price. Extremely inflated prices for the food/service on offer. I asked the female attendant what she suggested I should order and she simply said "I don't know". 🤦🏽‍♂️ No salt/pepper or condiments on the table, no actual attendance of the customer to ascertain if he/she would like to order anything else etc etc. Maybe since they don't actually own the place but get paid regardless of customer numbers, it suits them to simply sit at the table, not caring if the customer needs/wants something. And they giggled behind me as I paid the bill. Which is cute as a guy, but really unprofessional. Go there for the food, if nothing else. It's like the proverbial Jamaican restaurant - those who know, know.
