Decent south indian food...
Service could be a bit better yet...!!
Good placeš
The place is a good option for south Indian food. All the preparations are good and quite pocket friendly. It's a good option to hang out with family. This place is for casual dining. Staff is very courteous and service was also very good. They ask every customer about food taste and gather feedback. Whether you liked it or not. Although it's on main road and there is no dedicated parking space, one can find space near pavement opposite to restaurant.
This place is something which i love to visit.
Never gets dissatisfied, such a nice ambience with helpful and polite staff..
Hope it helped, please do like itāŗļø
Well Its a good place to have some South Indian Food. But I dont think people who are willing to have North Indian would be dissapointed either. A must visit place in Mayur Vihar .
One of the best restaurants in mayur vihar area seating arrangements and service is good. Food served is so tasty that you can stop eating. Nice place to visit with family and friends aslo the rates are reasonable
It is one of the most affordable restaurant serving the best South Indian Food. From crispy dosas to tasty tandoori ...they have everything....
Dahi vada is star dish..!!! 100 stars for dahi vada.
All type of dosas are very tasty. Do visit it and be the testimony of the taste . Cheers.
Best south India restaurant in Mayur Vihar phase 1
Try vada , rava masala dosa and South Indian thali. Extra points for opening 8 in the morning for quick and early breakfast.
Went for a dinner with family. Ordered sweet corn, tomato and Veg Manchow soup to begin with. Sweet corn can be improved a bit. Paneer tikka and spring rolls were perfect and would easily make oneās taste buds happy. Main course that included paneer butter masala and dal tadka was also nice. Nice clean ambience added more value. All in all a nice place to go out with family. Definitely value for money
They are South Indian Cuisine specialists and that's what we were craving for. Though this place offers Indian and Chinese cuisines also.
Ordered South Indian Platter and Mysore Masala Dosa. Both of the them were delicious. Though sambhar was a bit spicy.
The place is pocket friendly.
Interiors are very average.
Service is also average.
Very nice place with peaceful ambience and good service..food tastes good. Music they play is also very nice and soothing.
And the best thing is its chatnies.
Very decent restaurant. South Indian dishes excellent as well north indian dishes. Very polite and helpful staffs.
Idly is very soft and fresh.
Amazing south indian food.... Very tasty and high quality food is served here....
I love the red green and coconut chutney they serve with dosa sambhar..... Their idli and vadai are equally good. The staff is very courteous.
A good place to visit with your friends and family for a wholesome meal
Located in mayur vihar phase 1 , this restaurant has an average ambience but an attentive and good staff. Food quality is good but quantity is less as compared to the increased prices
This is one of the better South Indian places in the area. Not only is the staff courteous and attentive, the food is on point and the prices are definitely right. There isn't a massive range of available dishes, of course, but what they do offer they do well.
Very nice south indian. Being a filter coffee fan i usually rate every south indian by its coffe flavor and there you go. More than food staff is nice.
Finally i got a goood restaurant in mayur vihar to dine in. Its been more than a year since it has opened up. Since its difficult to get spotted i got an opportunity to visit it now. There are many take aways here and i am quite bored of all these joints. Finally on a friends reccomendation i went with my family there and was quite surprised with my experience there. The ambience is neat, tidy and clean. Very friendly and courteous staff. And of all the things food was amazing. We ordered north indian and each and everh dish was superb. In starter we ordered paneer shezwan and it had huge peices of paneer with good spices. Dal makhani, kadhai paneer and muttet mushroom are the dishes we ordered. And they all were amazing dishes with good quantity. Prices are economical. Quite surprised that it is not well known in mayur vihar. Hope this reviews helps them. I have heard south indian is even better. Am quite happy to find a good dine-in restaurant in mv.
Food: 5.0
Service: 4.5
Ambience /location: 4.0
Value for money: 4.5
Great little place for South Indian food at acharya Niketan which has been dominated by neelgiri from a long time . It's a little expensive as compared to other South Indian joints in the vicinity but great service and amazing food. I love d filter coffee and Dahi vada over there. They have courteous staff too.
Since it opened in my neighbourhood, I have been wanting to go to this place. At last I visited. I had Sweet corn soup, Ghee roast dosa, Dal Makhni and veg pulav. The restaurant is very clean with good and fast service. The food was amazing and worth every rupee! This is definitely going to be my go to place in my neighbourhood.
Superb Dosas. If you want to try south indian, this is the place in mayur vihar. Has many options in dosas and other south indian Dishes.

Another Vegetarian eat out wish all vegetarians would love to visit. I thought by its name that it is going to be a predominantly a Karnataka or at least southern genre restaurant. But to my delight, the menu dominated North cuisines.
But as it was breakfast time we decided to stick to light and healthy food. Had south indian platter which had idli, vada, dosa, keasri, sambar and chutney. Could not resist having poori masala and filter coffee. The food was good and pocket friendly.
A nice family restaurant. Giving stiff competition to the others already established in the area. Good for both dine-in and delivery.
Try their udupi speciality; it's a paneer dish in white gravy with pineapple and cherry and a hint of sweet taste. Might not sound as exciting but is actually good.
All paneer preparations are good. Infact the North Indian course is better than the South Indian one!! šš So go enjoy yourself!
A restaurant much needed in mayur vihar-1 . After trying both south and north indian dishes, its safe to say its at par with and even better than the sagar ratnas' and the dana chogas' available.
Cut to the food. The south indian platter was absolutely delicious( dosa, sambar ,idli vada, rava kesari, rasam). The north indian food is bound to keep u satiated.
My mouth is watering by just writing this!
I rest my case. :) ;)
This establishment is a new addition to the south indian restaurants in this area. Be it neelgiris or sagar ratna, I personally liked this chain. First of all, the ambience is very sophisticated which is a plus point. Moreover, the service is excellent. The waiters are very courteous for that sake. Talking about the food, goes without saying I tried south indian food only, ordered onion tomato uttapam and onion masala rava dosai. The uttapam is very tasty and so fresh. Completely loved it. Dosa was nice too. I also ordered fresh watermelon juice, trust me you will go gaga over it. So appetizing.
Hence, do visit the place which is light on pocket as well.
Gr8 place for having authentic south indian cuisine.... To try something new and amazing delicious recipes...this place is a must to be visited.... PALAK RAWA DOSA is the yummiest,u will not know when it vanishes off ur plate.... Loved other dishes also...go n enjoy.
I'll be honest, I like everything about this restaurant. It's tidy, easy on the pocket, serves amazing food, is near to my home and has good service. The only thing I don't like is the fact it has been reviewed so less. The place opened up around a couple of months back and has a lot of potential. Lets explore a bit more.
It is also balanced in its approach, unpretentious, not masquerading as a high flying establishment, yet not posing as a typical neighborhood joint. The clean, cool modern dining atmosphere creates a soft sophisticated AMBIANCE which is still simple enough to enjoy in an un-hassled manner. Its a popular family dining scene.
Although South Indian cuisine is overall easily available in Mayur Vihar, Udupidarshini is a cut above the rest. The north Indian taste palette is not suitable for food from the South but this place is testimony to how good FOOD can be kept authentic yet made popular by subtle tweaking according to the dominant clientele.
The items served are extremely appetizing. The sauces, spices and style of cooking are a hundred percent from down below yet does not drag on your tongue with sourness, which I'll be blunt enough to say is a dominant trait in food from the region.Ā The portions are nice. The menu is varied and you can safely try any of the Dosas.
I have had the honor of trying the Mysore Rava Paneer, Onion Rava Masala and the Palak Rava Masala. Each were individually brilliant.Ā
A special mention would be the absolutely amazing side chatney and sambhar served.
PRICES are also quite flattering. However, my experience has been solely restricted to the Dosa menu as I consider it to be complete idiocy to try chinese at such a place. I'd say the side dresses also carry a lot of potential. Try and let me know.
SERVICE is a plus point. The servers are polite, do not rush you even during closing time and patient.
It's also open till 11, a rare phenomenon in Mayur Vihar where restaurants start packing up from 10 PM.
Chakraborty Tips : Highly Recommend.
Best in north and south dishes, Mayur Vihar has a new hot destination for foodies. Try out you may be surprised by the yum preparations.... Pure veggie delight
It was the regular family dinner outing and we planned to try the newly opened restauarant near our place. The ambience is neat with elegant interiors and a seating capacity of 30-35 people. The place was busy and full to its capacity. The service was good.
We saw North Indian food orderd on most of the tables which was a surprise as we thought that South Indian to be their USP going by the name.
The food experience was pretty Average. We ordered a variety to get a hang of the diverse things on their menu.
Tomato Soup - Good
Chilli Potato - Spoiled the experience. We found a strand of hair in it and Pause it was. The Manager was prompt enough to replace it on being pointed out. But spoilt sport it had been already.
Paneer Tikka- Ā Regular fare. Orange coloured Paneer chunks with tandoori onions n capsicum n mint chutney.
Set Dosa // Paneer Uthappam // South Indian Platter - The basic thing that didnt go down with us was that the salt content in the Dosa batter was on a higher side. So all preparations were slightly more salty. However the potato and paneer filling were good and wholesome. The korma Sabzi with the set dosa was good.
The main accompaniment sambar and chutneys were average.Ā
Filter coffee - That was truly a authentic one. We were glad to end on a good note.
Value for money Ā - Yes, But I can really vouch for better south indian food in the vicinity.Ā
I would however like to try their North Indian fare sometime.
We went there for a party. The kids had fun n the food was excellent. From chinese to south indian, all the items we tasted were excellent. We had spring rolls, french fries, paneer for starters n they all were gr8.

The most authentic south Indian restaurant in East Delhi. Excellent, courteous service. Prompt delivery and real value for money. 5-star. Please keep it up!
EXCELLANT FOOD. FOOD REAL MAIN KAFI ACHCHA THA.DOSA BHI KAFI TASTY THA.EK HAMNE PLATTER LI THI VO BHI KAFI TASTY THA.EK BAAR SABHI KO TRY KARNA CHAHIE.MERA EXPERIENCE TO BAHUT ACHCHA RAHA.STAFF BHI ACHCHA THA
Excellent family restaurant. Food is fresh. I got there with my mom dad n bro. We ordered variety from Chinese noodles to uttapam and idli dosa. We loved it. Very nice staff. Must visit. Not to forget the reasonable cost of food.
I always love to try new South Indian restaurants all over India and especially in my hometown Delhi. My friend took me here, first of all, this restaurant looks so much simple, gives you the feel of an old government canteen with no photo frames on their white walls.
But they have lots of food items except South Indian food. Like pav bhaji, noodles or chowmein, honey chilly potato etc. So you can give it a try if you love South Indian food.
Very good place to have good affordable and delicious food. I have tried both their north as well as south Indian options and they are delicious. But personally I recommend South Indian platter and veg biryani(it's different from the biryani chains but I like it due to its different flavor).
Great Food. Amazing soup! Dosa were the best I had in Delhi, looking forward to visiting again.
Food is so delicious, only thing I brought from there is masala dosa, vada and idli.
But the food is so expensive like in airport, two masala dosa and two vada cost around 375 rs. And an idli cost around 100 something.
But I think it's common in Delhi.
I ordered one plate rawa idly from there. It looks nice in appearance and it was quite enough for single person and delicious in taste as well. all though sambar is little bit sweat in taste may be work for people who loves sweat sambar but not in my case.
Overall it's good experience to order from this place.
Udupi darshini is a pure vegetarian South Indian restaurant and Indian cuisine. I have checked dosa, pao bhaji, Chinese and some drinks which are very good in taste. The restaurant is in mayur vihar phase 1, you can visit and give a check
Nice place, loved the food, the place is reasonably priced but has an extensive menu and food is good, service was quick when I had visited the outlet
South indian dishes are ok... but North indian dishes are average....
Food we ordered was North Indian and was up to the mark but it took a bit of time as it is prominently a South Indian restaurant . Really good food and good service
I previously shared a bad review about this place because of the staff behaviour but the owner spoke to me and apparently fired that guy who was mannerless. I have never experienced such a thing where just because of a single person's inconvenience they take such action. But it was really long due to be honest. I've been to that place twice post that incident and now the new staff and even the owners are very welcoming
