Its a hidden treasure in heavily crowded Sadar Bazaar. It gives a sumptuous taste in every single and its a must visit place for non veg lovers. Everything is cooked in desi ghee.
So we ordered chicken curry with rotis and the rotis are complimentary.
The taste of the chicken was phenomenal, it was mildly spiced with some whole spices in it.
The tandoori roti is purely made of aata (wheat flour). It is smaller in size as compared to other tandoori roti’s available at dhabas.

Price
Chicken-₹300 Per Person
Roti- Free

Its a treasure in a heavily crowded sadar market. Their unlimited small freshly made rotis are so mouth watering. The mutton curry is well done, well cooked and melt in your mouth type. Just to good to have. But the only thing was the curry was full oil which they call it rogan. But overall nice.

Well to start with they just have only one shop serving in sadar bazaar region and you pick any thing that is chicken Curry, Mutton Curry or Chicken Biriyani
All cost the same that is ₹280 and time is very specific that is 1 to 3PM only and the the curry is worth as it is prepared in ghee and number of Roti’s are unlimited to have on but the curry is utter amazing as it has been prepared with Ghee and if required they even make the curry to be little heated upon angithi to be more tastier.

Worth try for.

Heard a lot about this place.
Had keema chicken curry made in Desi ghee.
The amount of ghee is more but u can separate it out.
Taste is awesome and full of flavours.
Tried keema chicken from many places but this one is best.
Must try for non veg lovers 👍

Sumptuous taste in every bite. A must go for non-veg lovers. We had Chicken Curry with roti. Although USP is meat, but i preferred chicken as it is my all time fevroite. Tandoori Roti is made of purely aata( wheat floor) and no Maida added, which actually many fold taste.

Heard a lot of this small restaurant in Sadar bazaar.. had an amazing experience.. went there with two friends to have mutton but was disappointing that they serve mutton only on Wednesday and Saturday.. the only option left was chicken..and we ordered 3 portions of chicken served with crisp tandoori rotis made of whole wheat ( as many as you wish to) that’s their usp.. tandoori rotis are free with one portion of chicken.. the chicken was soft and tender with thick gravy full of masala..it was just an out of the world experience.. guys find this place and enjoy their food..you will have to stand and eat but who cares when the food is irresistible.. run by two ladies, this joint is worth a visit

Motton only available on Wednesday and Saturday they start selling 1pm with in one hour all motton finish so go between 1 pm to 2 pm pre book your motton order by call them.

In the small and crowdy bylanes of sadar bazar little gem is situated.Nearest metro station is R.K Ashram. They serve 2pieces of Chicken/Mutton in a thick spicy gravy prepared in Desi Ghee and little and soft tandoori rotis are served complimentary.Mutton is served on wednesday and Saturday only. The best thing is the little angithis to heat your food by your own.
Recently they have starting Veg dishes too, although haven't tried till yet. They don't have any seating available,You stand and eat on road side itself.

A small place, but big food.

They serve the most amazing chicken and mutton curries. If you really want to enjoy the food, having it there itself is the best way.

The dishes are done in Pure Desi Ghee. The curry is tangy, spicy and everything you want it to be. The keema adds to the flavor. The food is heavy, would def recommend the food and a big walk after you are done .

This place does not have any branches. And it's located in Sadar Bazar, not chandni Chowk. So I'm not sure why zomato is showing as multiple outlets but this is the one I visited and they have clearly mentioned that they don't have any branches.
And, this is a dhaba, not a restaurant. And it's a very small shop without any seating available so you'll need to stand there and eat.

To reach there via metro, de board at RK Ashram Marg station and take a shared auto to sadar Bazar. Ask the guy to stop at aggarwal near police station. There is a big vintage police station and after that there will be an Agarwal sweets at the corner of a street. Turn left in that street and in about 100 metres you will reach your destination.

Having said that, this place offers one of the best chicken I have tried. They believe in doing one thing but doing it perfectly. And that shows in their menu. They only serve chicken curry, mutton curry, chicken biryani and mutton biryani. Nothing else. And yes you'll get onion salad and their amazing chat masala complimentary, something taken for granted at every Indian dhaba. Their pricing is per person. You get 2 chicken pieces for one person and can eat as many chapatis as you want while eating there. If you want to take away, they'll charge 10 rupees for 4 chapatis. Their chapatis are tandoori rotis made from atta instead of maida. They're really good but small.

I didn't get to try their mutton because they serve mutton only on Wednesdays and Saturdays and it's usually available from 1 pm to 1:30 pm only. But I tried their chicken and boy was it delicious. It's quite different from the usual chicken curry I've had before. It had quite close resemblance to mutton roghan Josh. It was spicy and truly awesome. I guess I ate 8 chapatis which although quite small in size, were a lot more than what I usually eat for a meal. And not to forget, their chicken and mutton are cooked in pure Desi ghee. Overall, it was a great experience eating their amazing chicken in extremely humid weather, sweating profusely due to the spices and humidity but still loving it. Will try their mutton next time

I don't know from how long I have been eating here but as far as I can remember my Sunday food outings I have been coming here since then. This place is one of the oldest ones with the oldest of the recipes handed down from generation to generation.

The food is very rich and prepared in Desi ghee so for those diet concious people just leave the notion for once and try a bite of the piping hot chicken gravy, I am sure you will fall in love with it.

This place is famous for both it's mutton and chicken also on Sundays you could find lots of families coming out here to eat their brunch. There is no seating arrangement you have to stand on age old tables. The best part is you can have as many tandoori rotis you want if you are eating there, which tempts people to over eat too.

The flavor of the chicken is so specific to this shop that I have never tasted like this anywhere else.

Also please do be aware these guys don't have any branches as there are a couple of shops which I saw have sprung up recently with the same name but they are ruining the taste of foodies like us, so I would suggest to stick to the original.

From my side this place is highly recommended also one tip go on Sundays it's better crowd plus you can find a place for you car too.

P.S The menu given here is wrong. They just make mutton Curry, chicken curry and chicken biryani.

Estbd. since 1984, it’s the REAL ONE - ASHOK & ASHOK MEAT is a must have, popular for its mutton & chicken in pure Desi ghee with mutton keema. Although you should put some effort to reach there (be it any corner of the city) but as a wise man said "SABR KA PHAL TASTY HOTA HAI" The place is located at Sadar bazar thana road. Chicken is available on all days while meat is only for Wednesdays and Saturdays but if you intend to eat meat you should Call them beforehand as the meat finishes off within few minutes (1pm to 1.30pm) and trust me it does gets over if you reach beyond 1:30 as they also do packing stuff for a lot of locals (who know the taste for Mutton and vouch for Wednesdays and Saturdays). So, we landed on time bang on @ 1:00 pm, and placed our order although the place was getting ready and we could smell the perfect mutton in desi ghee and could also see human read it “Human bees” hovering near the place for the food to open. Over restless rounds of questions, we were told to relax but at the same time we were updated that half of the mutton has already been sold (yes it was 1:05 pm only), hence please confirm the quantity to order in advance. We ordered a full plate of Mutton and here it comes perfectly cooked dark brown coloured gravy was robust, rustic and had brilliant balance of spices. Having this delicacy was an experience and the unlimited offerings of awesomely cooked small roti was coming straight out of tandoor with garnishes of adrak and dhaniya. While we were looking for more roti(s) the mutton is being continuously heated and boiled to the core over angithi ensuring best of the experience and foodgasm. A Must visit for every carnivore – mutton lovers (chicken as well) but always remember its GHEE and not oil that you are savouring on.

Pros: Mutton especially, rest is TASTE TASTE & TASTE , chicken is also equally good.

Cons: Accessibility, parking issues (but locals nearby are welcoming enough to adjust in case you tell them you are just here for the food) , the service time for roti(s) sometimes kills you as the take – away packers howl over the tandoor to grab the maximum of the lot and are indifferent to people waiting / eating it there. ( TIP : Take care of the person serving you , he will ensure he will take care of your supply of ROTI(s) , PS : do it before the meal not after )

Had read a lot about this place on internet, so finally me and my friend went here when we were in Chandni chowk. It was little difficult to find the place but finally we reached as per the directions. It's a very small roadside place which shouldn't be underestimated by the looks. Their mutton curry was the best with sizzling hot pure ghee on top. Biryani disappointed us. This place is close to rk ashram mark metro station.

Now this is what you truly call a hidden gem. Thanks to Zomato, got to know about this place and thus, could eat the superb Mutton they cook. Available only on Wednesday and Saturday over lunch, I am glad I read all other reviews and reached there by 1 pm, as the mutton was over at 1:30, mostly being take aways. They do keep it for you in case you call and book.
Made purely in Desi Ghee, it is expensive, 550 bucks for just 4 pieces with unlimited rotis, which are smaller but better than the usual ones. But the taste and texture is worth it all. Go have it if you are a Mutton lover.

Ashok & Ashok did not have a long menu.... In fact,,, when i was there they were serving only two things: chicken korma nd chicken biryani..... I heard,,, nowadays,, they are serving more items....By korma I meant the long slow braised old-school version of cooking,,,, not the super creamy,,, bastardized British spinoff....It's a dark rusty red sauce,,, rich with ghee nd layered with coriander,,, ginger nd cumin..... Nd,,,their biryani was excellent too......
I tried to get their meat,,, for which Ashok & Ashok is famous,,,, 2-3 times in vain,,,,,always finish before I reach.... It's available only on Wednesday nd Saturday during lunch time.....

it is better known as ashoki. and it is very tasty. you have to eat standing. you should eat only if you are not concerned about delhi belly. it is so spicy that it will rack your brains, leave aside tongue. for the people who does not know, the place on which it is situated belongs to a sharmaji (my friend). ashoki was told no thrice by my friend's grandfather because of non-veg but when ashoki threatened to commit suicide, he was allowed to operate. no one from sharmaji's family eats but his friends can eat for free if they want.

May I say this without any prejudice, one really doesn't come across a meat place by a Hindu often, the other I know is Puran Singh in Ambala( awesome) but this place really does beat any Muslim place fair and square, there's enough desi ghee to provide enough nutrition to a small village, but it didn't interfere with the taste was actually there to enhance the flavour, the gravy is Michelin Star worthy innovation by putting finely hand chopped lamb with the other spices and making a nice masala these guys have left me stunned with a big smile on my face, all in all an awesome taste and a must try, my best ever dhaba mutton in India, I'm sure the brothers across the Sutlej have other tricks up their sleeves so India. Sent the driver so dunno what it looks like, but even remembering the taste is still sending pleasure shivers down my spine.

Visit there well before the closing time, that is 3:30pm if you want to grab some nice chicken and biryani. They usually get over by 3:15. Not a place for if you are looking for hygiene or a nice seating. Just a little stall serving meat with outdoor tandoor.

you get unlimited rotis along with the chicken ( served in quarter portions or more). Desi ghee overload with medium spices. Must try atleast once. Mutton is only served on wednesdays and Saturdays.

First of all the nearby metro stn is rk ashram marg...from there go straight toward sadar thana and then turn left from the aggarwal sweets and here it comes a small shop with a great taste ...
soh finally after reading soh much about the place yesterday i went there around 2.50 pm so i ordered and got chicken curry in a steel plate topped with coriander and ginger plus I got onion and lemon as a salad and then i was desperately waiting for the chapatis...and after few minutes it came..small puri sized tandoori naans...and then i took my first bite....ohh its really awesome u can simply feel the taste of desi ghee in the gravy...chicken pieces are also great in taste..I got the leg piece ;) moreover u can simply opt for the cold drinks also available over there...so it was a deadly combo of awesome chicken plus small chapatis with the thums-up bottle...yeah and all come for just 280 bucks
Its a must try thing, taste was really great and the presence of ghee gives overall a great taste to your mouth. And yeah its different and its great!!! soon will plan my next visit and this time for mutton curry for sure...

The taste is cmpletely diff from any mutton gravy i ever tasted..the first bite and you will taste the desi ghee..however due to this ghee flavour you dont feel other spices in the gravy..
Here comes the best part..you only need to pay for the dish and roti's are "on the house"..
Yes u heard me right...have as many rotis u want to and u wont be charged for it..!!!

P.S: The shop opens at 1PM sharp...the early you go = less crowd = satisfactory service...
Happy us :)

I first read about this place in an article in The Hindu and ever since I had it on my mind. So I called up one of my friend who is another chicken loving soul. And there we were two wanderers, with our minds filled with pieces of meat floating in a rich brown curry, on the streets of old delhi in search of the famous Ashok and Ashok.

Since it was a hard find I d start with the directions : it is a 2km walk from R K Ashram Marg. Start walking on Chitragupta Marg then straight onto Deshraj Bhatia Marg and then turn left onto Sadar Thana road, from agarwal sweets. And after a 100-150 meters on the left is Ashok and Ashok meat shop.

We had reached at 12.30 in the afternoon and what we saw was a small shop with one guy on the shop heating the chicken and no customers. We were confused whether it was the right place. But, all our doubts simmered down the minute the clock struck 1. Tables were set up in front of the shop with hungry souls gathered around. Two more shops opened- one with a few tables and one where tandoor was kept. Onions were served on the table and one guy took orders from all the people.

We had ordered for half chicken curry and half mutton curry. After about 15 minutes, we were served both in a metal plate topped with coriander and ginger silvers. The moment I took the first bite, only one word came to my mind- DIVINE! The curry was prepared in Desi ghee and was rich and thick consisting of minced meat and the taste was inexplicable. One could have put anything in that gravy and it would have tasted delicious. A word of CAUTION for those who are not very fond of Desi ghee - stay away from this place as you stand the risk of ruining its sanctity. Along with the curries they serve small tandoori rotis which are complimentary and you can have as many as you wish. We literally didn't stop till we had had 15-20 rotis, such was the taste.

Truly an Unforgettable experience!

How to reach?

Direction: Ramakrishna Ashram Marg Metro is the nearest metro. Take an auto/battery rickshaw and get down at Madan Lal Halwai on the Sadar Thana Road. Ask anyone there, its hardly 70 meters away from there.

I had to give the direction first as i got down at Tis Hazari Metro and it took me 35 minutes to reach from there and had to change to two battery rickshaws.

One should try it at least once so as to understand the hype. I ordered chicken and i've to admit that it has a different kind of taste. Taste of ghee (clarified butter) is the dominant flavour. Quality of chicken pieces was good.
They serve small tandoori roti which is complimentary with chicken and mutton. So overall a good experience. Will surely go back!

Service: 3 out of 5
Ambience: 0 out of 5
Value for money: 3 out of 5

This is just my kind of place. No fancy nothing. The "menu" is what the guy tells you; anyway there are only three options - mutton, chicken, biriyani. You stand at the table and eat.

But it's beautiful. Trust me. The mutton, if you are lucky enough to get it, has been slow cooked for hours. The gravy it comes in is not unnecessarily spicy nor murdered by garam masala. The earthy roti they serve is perfect for dipping into the gravy, picking up a piece of the meat and then stuffing face.

Haul yourself to sadar bazaar, walk down the thana road and take a left at Aggarwal sweets. Make sure you are there before 1 30 or the mutton will run out.

Definitely on the expensive side but worth it. So completely worth it.

Finally after lot dilly dallying I managed to get famous ashok mutton curry and it truly gave me a sense of big achievement. Firstly its totally non descript place the simplest direction to this place is walk towards the sadar bazaar from sadar bazar police station and turn in the lane adjacent to agrawal sweets which is on the left side. Secondly, it's worth the pain, the mutton curry totally amazing and goes well with the roti and rice. All preparation is in desi ghee, that's what the owner claims but the taste is surely unique and yummy. I have tried the chicken too its nice and different as well but I will still vote for the mutton curry. Chicken biryani not very great so can be skipped. It's hugely popular as ppl prebook their order over phone on days mutton is served i.e Wednesdays and Saturdays. I was truly lucky to get it. Must have for mutton lovers.

You can reach here either by jhandewala metro station or chandni chowk. We hired an auto from jhandewala and reached by crossing so many lanes and by passing so much of traffic.

Three consecutive small shops on one side of lane. Basically it is a road side vendor. In the first shop you can place order and second one was empty with few tables to eat and the in the third one tandoor was placed.

No chairs available, you have to eat while standing. We chose the table outside on the road side.

We ordered mutton gravy and chicken gravy(thankfully it was saturday). I like the concept of live tandoor at every table, so that you can heat your gravy at anytime.

Mutton was full of ghee and masala. Perfectly cooked with lots of flavors. You can not easily judge the flavours. Same goes with chicken. Flavour of both are similar. One of the staff continuously serve u tandoor ki roti. The combination was very tasty.

My words:
Over priced and a bit over hyped. If you like ghee then you definitely like it because the gravy was full of ghee. Diet conscious- not your place !

Oh man, where has this place been all my life. Ever since my coworker showed me this place, I'm here a few times a month. My go to has been the Chicken biryai.. It's not a huge portion but extremely filling and delicious. I have had the same dish at other places but this has been my favorite. The chicken is so tender and moist and the sauce is just perfect every time. In addition to great food, the service is always on point. Very friendly and a pleasant dining experience.

The best heavy, ghee waala chicken, served with bite size tandoori or miss roti. It is expensive if you compare the quantity they server, the roti's are for free . Be on time or else you won't be served. Best time to have this beautiful 3rd generation creation is in winters. The weather actually helps to digest the ghee.
No place to take your family as there is no place to sit.

This place has been in my radar for ages, finally managed to visit them. It’s no nonsense, basic; with tables on pavement located in by-lanes wherin you eat standing.
Reading earlier reviews mentioning mutton served for limited time, I called and reserved a plate.
My first experience was quite unfavourable; the mutton plate hardly had pieces but guess their magic is the gravy which is made in ghee (calories conscious – please excuse). The dish wasn’t warm, nor the pieces where too appealing and hence didn’t experience what everyone talks about. Infact asked a few other fellows and all had been served cold. Now at 240 a plate, you expect better service.
The start serving at 1pm and around 1.40 pm they were refusing fresh orders saying mutton is over..(is the quantity so less- don’t know). Anyway while paying spoke to the owners and mentioned my forgetful experience and was told u should have asked for it to be warmed.. LOL… hey do I even need to. Anyway since I wanted to try the real stuff so ordered another plate. Now this had decent chunks of mutton along with angeethi to keep it warm. Now having it warm, could feel the magic, especially the tick curry. Mutton was well cooked and soft and each bite with the curry was divine.
Somehow managed to finish the second plate and my brunch, lunch, snack and dinner seemed to be in this one meal :). Ended my meal with cup of tea form the neighbouring shop to digest all the ghee.
Tried chicken as well, which for me was disappointing, though served with same curry, but chicken didn’t seem to have been well marinated/no flavours.
Ensure next time you visit for mutton (served only wed and sat), book your order in advance and ask for angeethi, else you will be disappointed.

P.S - Felt its was overpriced for their serving

If you didn't know it existed, you would probably walk by it in the busy streets of Sadar bazaar without even looking twice. Therein lies the true beauty of this place. It opens for only two hours a day and the mutton runs out within the hour. Plus, it's served only twice a week so a visit has to be carefully planned.

We ordered the mutton curry and the chicken curry. The mutton curry was delicious and the best part was that it was unique. I haven't had a similar tasting curry anywhere so for that itself it is a must visit. The chicken curry likewise, was exceptional. Both the curries were doused in ghee, but you can't be health conscious eating at a place which serves heavy food. All in all, it was a fulfilling meal even though it was on the pricey side, specially for an eatery in Sadar bazaar.

A must visit at least once to try the unique curries.

This small nondescript place serves arguably the best mutton curry ever. A small street side joint, it's a legend in its own right... They have been serving the best mutton dishes for decades... Mutton is served only twice a week ( the rest they serve equally lip smacking chicken curry).
Sweat it out... It's well worth... Foodies paradise
The curry is made it in pure desi-ghee and you get the flavour the moment you dig into it. The desi-ghee helps balance the spices and what you get to eat is pure divine.
They have kept it simple for years with a limited menu... and they have got it bang on right.
If you are a foodie... if you live mutton curry... you will fall in love with the place. Well worth every effort taken to reach this "gem of a place"

Ordered the mutton from this place after hearing about it. Mutton comes swimming in ghee with tiny tandoori rotis that are complimentary. The mutton was nicely spiced and the gravy was quite rich. However the meat was not add tender as it could be, definitely not falling of the bone.

Excellent place for some really meaty delights. It's literally a hole in the wall shop with no seating area. Tables on the footpath where you have to stand and eat. But the amazing chicken and mutton gravy cooked in pure Ghee is what makes all these inconveniences worth it. Mutton is served only on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 1-3pm and usually sells out within minutes. The chicken variant is usually available for longer and so is the Biryani. Chicken sizes are available in quarter plates, half plates and full which serve 1,2, or 4 people respectively. Rotis are complimentary and unlimited. Don't forget to wash it all down with some cold thums up. In all, a place worth checking out if you're a true foodie.

Best Rotis in town and that too complimentary. Small round tandoori rotis. You take a bite and you'll know what I am talking about. They have a plate per person system and the chicken curry/korma they make is totally different from what you get elsewhere. I am still not able to guess the ingredients.

This is something you wont find anywhere else. Its a small joint near Rankrishna ashram marg metro station. Get down and take a rick. They serve only chicken curry everyday or mutton curry on Satudays with complimentary all you can eat tandoori rotis, which are the best in business.

No seating or AC, so either bring your car or just stand and eat. A must for non veg lovers. A must try...very different!

Taste - 4.5/5
Ambience - roadside dhaba 2/5
Service 4.5/5 - very quick
VFM - 4.0/5.0 ....its a bit pricey!

The flavour of a good ghee roast is all that one needs to run a restaurant. This one runs only on a chicken and mutton qorma and run it does. A fine roast made everyday and sold out in two or so hours, this place must be tried on an empty stomach for the the masala roasted in ghee won't allow you to stop feasting anytime soon.

Beyond any chicken/mutton curry dish you have ever had 😋. There is no sitting there are standing tables.. Rotis are small but unlimited.. Best time to enjoy is in winters with the small personal angithi at your table to heat the dish and keep you warm.

Got their famous chicken packed for home. Apart from the huge layer of oil in the dish, everything rest was fine.

Thick gravy full of flavors. Khade masale were prominent and tasted good. Freshness of chicken pieces was clearly evident.

This place was in my bucket list, from quite a long time...finally, I got a chance to visit this place...opens only for 2.5 hours...extremely rushy here...if you could have your meal packed and have it @home, then do it...and also reach on time, otherwise everything here will be finished....
Planned to visit this place on Wednesday for having meat, but it got finished by 2pm...Later, the owner gave his number to prebook the meat before coming....

Dishearted, we ordered chicken and chicken biryani, chicken was extremely tasty...The best chicken I have ever had, tremendously good...the smell of desi ghee and perfectly cooked fresh chicken in the authentic spices...You won't get this anywhere!!

Even biryani was too good here...but use little less chicken gravy with it...writing this review brings water to my mouth...
It's a must have thing for all chicken lovers!!

The place is lone joint in its area. The shop is really small with no sitiing area. But everthing is worth for it. You will not find better quality anywhere. The food is literally drowing in desi ghee. Only open 1 to 3:30.

Get as early as you can if you want to eat here peacefully. Also recommend calling before you go here. Most of the food gets booked through phones. When i reached there it was 2 pm and the food was almost finished. Really lucky to have eaten in satisfaction.

Quality will be the best that you had ever seen thts for sure. Your stomach might be full but your heart wont be. Incomparable food here.

Also the prices given in zomato are false. The place is a little expensive. Cost is 250 quater plate. Not pocket friendly.

This place is for people who can enjoy a good chicken or mutton dish while standing between the crowd and are not calories conscious.

They have earned a good name in Delhi for their desi ghee mutton (served in steel thali) and people from Delhi and ncr literally search for this food outlet to satisfy their craving for non veg.

Keep in mind that it's not a family restaurant with seats. Also chicken and mutton will have lots of khada masala and desi ghee. Some people like it that way...so no complaints...

A good place for hardcore non vegetarians. The moment it starts the mad rush begings and people gets chicken /mutton items quickly. Don't complain if you get roti little late so order rotis in advance while one is left in your thali if you plan to have more or you will have to wait for a while and eventually you will start slurping gravy.

we went to the shop on wednesday to enjoy the much talked about mutton they serve but fortunatly we reached there by 2P.M. and it was already finished. dishartened we ordered chicken and biryani. the menu contains only chicken n biryani to order. rotis were free of cost. chicken was damn awesome and contained a lot of desi ghee(health concious people are advised to stay away). therr was no place to sit and that was the only shortcoming but it was easily compensated by the aroma and taste of the chicken. biryani was just okay type.....it was best chicken i have ever had in delhi.
we also got to know to have mutton it is reqired to book a order ine day in advance.

Wow.... This place is really amazing. Must visit place fit non-veg lovers.
They have very limited menu. Chicken korma mutton korma and biryani. They serve food only between 1 PM to 3 PM and mutton only on Wednesday and Saturday. Mutton gets over by 1:30. So be there at 1 o'clock.
Now come to food. Korma was awesome. U can feel taste of desi ghe. Mutton was well cooked, delicious. They serve roties complimentary.
I was little disappointed with biryani.

Ambiance : There is no place to sit. It is open with two three tables to stand and eat.

Nearest metro station : R K ashram marg.
As this place is difficult to find. So go to sadar thana -> walk toward sadar bazar -> take left turn from bikaner sweets(fourth lane after police station)

Let me start with the walk to it which made us go through a lot of traffic and the bustling sadar market fr 2 kms easily as your car may not go far if u want to reach their quick. By the time me and my friend reached it was already 3:20 and we were too hungry. And we were not disappointed. The place was bustling with people with more and more coming in. The place was as dingy as one can think but the food makes u forget all that. The Biryani was good but the meat was to die for. Authentic masala and flavour to it. We were lucky to be the last ones to get the Mutton. Will totally recommended for meat cravers. Be there early like before 3, walk a bit before reaching there, be hungry, be rewarded!:p

Not one of the most flash joints that you might have been to, but this little Dhaba in sadar bazaar is bound to leave your taste buds craving for more. Only lunch from 1-3 pm, 3 dish menu, desi ghee meat desi ghee chicken and desi ghee dum biryani. My favourite meal in New Delhi till date and would always be. Wee bit expensive than your usual Dhaba food but believe me you it's worth it.

This is the best thing to have happened to me, gastronomically speaking of course 😛..
Be it their mutton or chicken, Ashok Dhabha is a must eat. Their gravy is exquisite!
Mutton is served only on Wednesdays and Saturdays, and that is the day you HAVE TO visit.
Their prices are a wee bit on the higher side but after you've had a meal here you won't really mind the prices.

What a place. Heard lot about it and yesterday went to sadar bazar for some work and i didnt missed the opportunity to try this one out. Ordered one plate chicken . The gravy was so damn awesome. The rotis were complimentary with the chicken. Soft small rotis tastes divine with the chicken. The servers were more then eager to serve you with happy faces. They dont have a proper space but few standing tables outside the small takeaway counter. I am adding this place to my legendary food heavens to visit list. Guys, Try this one out for sure.

Place is located near Sadar Bazaar and is doing brisk business. Prices are on the higher side and the place is surrounded by not so hygienic environment. Better to get the food packed and eat at home. Unlimited free Roti are served with Mutton if you eat at this place on the shop. Roti have a characteristic small size.

Real value for money. Tasty food, You can feel authentic feel of ghee in all the dishes. Only issue is, this place is hard to locate; i crossed the shops multiple time before it strick to me that this is the shop i was looking for. And yes, one more constrain is limited number of dishes, they serve only two dishes.

This place is near to NDLS New Delhi railway station, you can reach station by yellow line metro, After reaching there you can buy a platform ticket and then go to the another side of railway station from where you can hire a rickshaw , the time and location mentioned in map is correct, their menu is fixed and they don't have much options for you they have biryani every day, but they either prepare chicken curry or mutton curry in a day, not both. Also the with curry you will get unlimited rotis, they have plates options on the bases of number of people, if you want extra gravy you to have to pay for it, it worth visiting there their curry is made up of pure shudh ghee, but rate too high not pocket friendly and their timing are very typical and menu is very short

Mouth watering mutton curry. Cooked in Desi ghee. This place lived upto its name. One of the hidden gems of old delhi. The best part is you get unlimited tandoori rotis for free. Mutton is only available on Wednesday and Saturday. They serve mutton between 1 and 1:30. The sell out within 30 minutes. You can get the chicken curry but I liked the mutton curry more. Make sure you are on time or you will miss it.
