I had rava sada dosas and filter coffee which was too tasty..must go for Ppl who love authentic South Indian food
Its all about the nostalgia and old world charm
This place has authentic South Indian food. Loved their Paper Masala Dosa and Kuch nahi uttapam. They are taking all the precautionary measures during this pandemic for a safer dining experience. The owner is very nice and they can give you discount on group bookings too. One of the best places in CP
Best place and food is awesome! Loved the hospitality and great ambience! ❤️ specially the music collection!😍😍
One of the best places in CP. They have an extensive menu that too no compromise on taste on any item. Amazing taste. Highly recommended. Great ambience
This heritage restaurant has been in CP since the 1930s..wow!! The ambience of the place has such heritage vibes and just for your GK..certain movie scenes of “hazaron khwahishein aisi” were shot here. So all you Bollywood buffs, need to make a trip down there.
The place has been newly renovated, the playlist was awesome, it was sparkling clean, the staff followed all the COVID safety protocol, and were friendly.
Coming to the food, I had the classic filter coffee and it was amazing..exactly how I like it -kadak and mildly sweetened. I also tried their Kuch Bhi Dosa...honestly the name caught my eye off the menu. And it was a good choice too, for it turned out delicious, the outer cover deliciously crispy while the stuffing boasted a myriad of different ingredients- aloo, paneer, carrots and so much more that I possibly couldn’t have figured out!! It was yummy.
So the next time you’re in CP, do try this place out for some heritage feels, amazing food that is easy on your pockets.
Menu is perfect, something for everyone. Visited this place after ages but the charm is still the same & service was as usual awesome.

The new ambience is quite refreshing with the same old charm. The environment is safe to eat with social distancing, proper sanitization and hygiene. Loved the music here. Do try the GREEN COFFEE TOO
Original recipe of Sambhar can be tasted here
Still have lot of old golden memories of this restaurant since British Era

Please visit for AUTHENTIC South Indian food
A lovely place to dine in with family or have a quick bite. Especially one should definitely try their wide range of coffee! As they say, old is gold. This place serves awesome food and beverages. Simple, sober and great taste!
Amazing place to be with Friends or Family.
Love spending time here Ona date with my wife or a family lunch/dinner.
Super coffee.
Firstly, It was an amazing experience to visit one of the oldest coffee house in delhi. Great vibe and ambience. The food is delicious. I tried "kuch bhi dosa" and "butter milk" and I was satisfied with the food. The staff and the owner are very friendly. All in all a great visit
According to me this place has the best dosas in Delhi!! The covering is light and crisp with just the right amount of masala filling. It's very affordable also and service is fast and efficient. Filter coffee could be better though. It's a quiet place where one sit undisturbed and think and grab a bite. There is usually old Bollywood songs playing on the speaker. Great experience, one must visit!
restaurant is not good , sitting area also.. but dosa and cold coffee is amazing.
It is a very good restaurant. I am going since a very long time and I think it is a best place for breakfast. It is also good for lunch but I am going for breakfast only and it's good. You must try it.
Hey guys, so today I just visited this beautiful restaurant. The food was truly amazing, the ambiance was very cool, the staff was friendly. The food was pocket friendly and was truly amazing.
This place always catches my attention. It's in a distinct location in cannaught place. I always have coffee from here. The filter coffee here is just amazing. All they need to do is a little touch up to their interior. That's it.
Good place to have amazing South Indian food with friends ans family. A must visit if you are looking for good south indian food at Connaught place.
Very friendly place to sit with friends and have south indian food.
One of my daily place to have lunch. Very good food hygiene and quality with good quantity.
This was my second time to this place. Though it was hot outside and inspite of no AC, this place had a cooling effect. The high ceilings and the old building was doing their work well. They serve both South and North indian cuisine but vegetarian. We ordered an onion masala dosa and an onion uttapam. The taste was pretty authentic and was sumptious. People who love spicy food might not like it but we enjoyed the plane, simply cooked dishes. Even the lassi and cold coffee we ordered were nice. It wasn't that crowded and the service is also satisfactory. If you're looking for something too fancy then this is not for you but if you need a peaceful low budget place in CP for vegetarian food, this is totally recommended.
When you think of the authentic coffee, head to the most popular Madras coffee House. I ordered a filter coffee which has an amazing taste with balanced blend of coffee and milk. I later ordered vada sambhar which taste so delicious and yummy.
The value for money you will get in connaught place. Ambience is decent. With little amount you can passive your hunger. Service is quick. Food is delicious.
Had Uttapam and filter coffee. Both were very good. Authentic taste and fresh. Need interior to work upon. Samabr and coconut chutney were good.
A cup of strong Filter Coffee and the old school charm. Madras Coffee House in Connaught Place still gives you "living in 60s" feeling and they say that Time Travel is not possible.
Happy with their food and hospitality...
beautifully old, i like the vintage old look of this place , when i entered in the cafe I feel like i was gone to some place from 90's . you can feel the time has stopped and this cafe is same as it was in 1937 . though the cafe was not maintained properly but i like the idea of owner to keep it as it is , as Heritage but the young generation wasn't interested to preserve this heritage.
though the food i had was tasty and the filter coffee yummy. feel the originality .
heritages were needs to be preserved, keep visiting this kind of place. n i also feel like the cafe lacks maintenance due lack of funds.
allover its a nice place to hangout if u r a peace lover.
Nice place to have South Indian food. So went with my two more friends, we we're going to Sarwana Bhawan but because of the long waiting queue 😒 we went to this cafe and I am glad we did.
Don't measure this place on the look and feel of the cafe. Order the South Indian that they have you will know why I am saying this😎😎 took help of the waiter and ordered as per him. So we ordered :
"Kuch bhi special masala dosa" which was well prepared made from butter and had paneer and potato stuffing inside it, was delicious 😋
Second dish was "kuch nahi uttapam" I really liked the names they had for their signature dishes. So this was actually a mixed vegetables uttapam having paneer, onion, tomato and chilli, was good and nice to eat.🙂
Thirdly for a little change we ordered veg. Chowmein 🍜 and it was very oily and okeish
Best part was the filtered coffee ☕
For once you can visit this cafe, avoid the ambience🙅🙅 food is good👌
Very old historic look, ordered dosa, mix veg uttapam, Idli and Vada with filter coffee. Overall food taste is superb, fast service and polite staff.
This place is peaceful in its own way
Small, cozy not so modern yet so amazing
It serves all of South Indian food and many Indian snacks with a lot of beverages
Had cold coffee
Tasted nice ..wasn’t expensive
The music is : good old songs
Would like to visit again
liked the cold coffee here n the south Indian food was good too.. sadly no Ac.. this place just couldnt be everybody's cup of tea.. shall visit again someday..
I really cant stop raving about this restaurant. Not only do they get their food right, they have an ambience that will make your meal quite an experience. I frequent this place quite often and have a set order now that I have tried almost everything on the menu. Apart from getting a bite of authentic Kerala food, you can also sip on some of the finest coffee also. Almost everything here is spectacular you must give it a try.
You can have the best south indian cuisine here..Yes sir I have heard a lot about other south indian outlets..but this for be is the best.Pick any dish and add a filter coffee to it...yummmmmm !!!!
Its ambience is not at all loud. Simplicity combined with perfection....
Found this place after a tiring day in CP.
It's a very old place and has not been renovated since a very long time so you might see it as a quite unhygienic place but nevertheless we sat and had some food here. We asked the waiter what's best here and that's what we had-
1. Filter Coffee- Even though they have, "coffee house," in their name they don't serve varieties of coffee just plain simple coffee. It was quite strong and we loved it. Just what one wants after a tiring day.
2. Masala Dosa- It was good as well. No complaints.
P.S- When we asked for a bill the waiter just told us the amount verbally, and we being tired didn't bother but we later realised what if he told us an increased amount! So ALWAYS ask for a bill.
Visited this place last week with my colleague. When you enter the place, the ambience gives you old school feel. In the main entrance, Ganesha idol was there, nicely decorated with flowers. And i really liked it. Well, we ordered one filter coffee, cold coffee and rasam-papad, as our tummy was already full so we just wanted to try their coffee.
Everything tasted really good. Rasam was light and spicy, my friend loved his filter coffee though I was expecting they'll serve it on that filter coffee glass liked other south indian restaurant serves, but they served on normal cup plate.
Cold coffee was so amazing, I never expected they'll make so good cold coffee. Highly recommended this.
These three items cost us about 240rs/-
I'll visit there soon, and on my next visit I ll try their south indian delicacy along with cold coffee. 😁👌

Once you enter you get the feel of an ancient ambience amidst the cool lounges and bar in CP. The old hanging fans and sitting arrangements might take you decades back in the memory lane. A calm and good place to enjoy the filter coffee (loved it). And if you are hungry and have a taste for South Indian, then do try the Masala Dosa.
A wonderful place I must say....I had ordered rawa plain dosa accompanied with sambar and coconut chutney..... I had best coconut chutney ever here today.... Dosa was crisp and hot.... Good sambar I must say..... Thanks a ton Madras coffee House.....
