Good food.Loved it. :) Feels like Home.Would love to visit anytime again.
Perfect place to try mizo cousin...
I love going here. The people who run the place are friendly and always have a chat with us. The food is not pretentious-seems like they would have the same things at their home. I enjoy the tastes of everything there. Serving size and price are also appreciated deeply. Ambience is also lovely and calming for me. I wish they would start home delivery.
Every time i go there I personally always have the thali because compared to many NE or other restaurants has the biggest varieties. If you want to try NE food without to much spice -this is the place. Especially the peanut salad is to die for which comes along with each thali. Plus Price is good
I was introduced to this lovely place by my friend. This place is just so warm and peaceful. The atmosphere here is really welcoming for us youth. The food too is really good. When here do try the Bai, Arsa kan ro, Chow kan pangai, spicy chicken wings, fruit beer and rice beer.

As someone who continues to miss North-eastern food in Delhi, Mizo Diner has become one of the go to places when I crave for Mizo food. The ambience, the food- it's just amazing.

Will visit again and again
This cozy places located in Humayunpur is a sweet delight. As you enter, you are welcomed with amazing, neat graffiti and paintings on the walls. Then you are greeted very sweetly by the young lady who sits there.
Once you order and await for your food, you can't but admire the place.
The food there is pretty good too. I ve tried the pork burger, sawchiar, pork thali, beef fry, pork ribs, rice wine and chai. All very tasty.
But if there is something you don't like, please make sure to tell the lady as she is always looking to keep her customers coming back.
If u want to have homely cooked food this is your destination, unfortunately they don't do online delivery ,love the food love the ppl ,even a simple dal is so tasty idky ,the best north eastern restaurant in safdurjung area
Was on a budget and hungry, had the pork thali and rice beer here and it blew my mind. Each element of the thali was delicious on it own, really loved it.
aw diner i tui ber mai.. i thali mizo bai leh tauh nen ngei mai a tui si... dal lah mizo sityle ngat tui em2 mai...fried rice i tui hluan e..chow satui leih..i tui hluan e... artui tauh leh alu chop lah tui em2 mai
This tiny place is the most simple eatery you would find in the NCR serving simple, delicious and generous portions of Mizo food. I am not an expert on north-eastern cuisine and hence neither can I rate the food on its authenticity nor is it absolutely mandatory to compare food when you feel satisfied with the taste you are offered at a reasonable price tag. We had Fish and Chicken Thali with traditional Rice beer. With three flavourful peanut and chilly chutneys, the fish is tenderly cooked with onion and greens. The quantity is good for two people and the flavour reminds one of home-made platters of warmth. Absolute bliss!

One of the best place of have pork momos in delhi reminds me of Northeast ka momos. Exact taste. We also order aizwal street style chow mien which was delicious. And pork ribs and thali. I loved every bite of it.
If you're in the mood for devouring pork in Delhi, then look no further than this tiny place. The chilli pork was killer and the ribs were gorgeous to look at and even better when chowed down. Had another pork dish which was a kind of broth containing pork also with bamboo. Wasn't a fan fo this one though. The rice dish was decent and the service is warm and friendly. And for iced tea fans, it doesn't get better than this. Do check out this lovely little gem
This is one of my favourite place to eat In Safdarjung. Food is great and the girl who sit there is very polite though Iam not sure about the authenticity of Mizo food but they serve great northwest food. I have tried almost everything on their menu and everything taste good so feel free and order anything on the menu. Thali Taste great too but my fav dish would be buff intestine and brain they make. (I don’t remember the name) you can go asked them. Go and check it out if your up for some delicious northeast food.
It's a blessing for all the mizos, a small community and minority in India, to have a place to feel at home and hog on to some home foods right in the hearts of delhi.
If you want to taste the actual home-cooked food of northeast India here in Delhi, this is the place. The ambience is decorated with tribalism so is the food. It's a good place to visit with a reasonable price.
The food was very authentic .
Loved the food and the vibe of the place . I had a veg thali which turned out to be really good ! It's was not just all masala and a every sabzi was falavorful
The best pork ribs! Momos and pork and buff thalis are great too. There is also a delicious peanut salad. Pity it doesn't deliver outside safdarjung.
It’s the first time ever that I’m writing about a place on the same day of the visit, but they are so good that I couldn’t help but write about them.
The Delhi market these days likes to try different cuisines and Mizo diner is doing a great job!
If you like North Easter food or are interested to try some, Mizo diner is a must visit for binging into some authentic food straight from Mizoram.
Here’s what I had and I recommend it all
Drinks
-> fresh lime
Starters
-> pork ribs : baked to perfection, tender and juicy
Mains
-> Non veg thali : buff curry served with steamed rice, dal and some traditional salad & sides
Would I visit again?
Definitely yess!
Had an amazing Mizo spread of steamed rice with dal, bai (a stew kind of dish made with green leaves), tauh (salad sprinkled with ground peanuts), chicken and bamboo shoot curry, pork curry and king chilli (or bhoot jolokia) chutney. I was so surprised by the homely yet great quality of the food. Really looking forward to my next visit(s) to try out all that they have to offer on their menu. The place might be a bit difficult to find out on Google Maps but a little bit of asking around will help. Trust me, if you love North-Eastern cuisine, the effort will be more than worth it!
I really love their rice porridge. Good food...good ambience and most importantly really nice and polite staff. And its also very budget friendly. Would love to visit again.
Authentic restaurant, with welcoming ambience, staff and good food. It was my first time and I liked the pork cuisine. Planning to frequent it and try all of the menu
Excellent food, and great service. The pork ribs and egg salad are must tries, while the rice beer is also great, if you're up for a bit of experimentation. The chicken curry, and Pair your mains with their in-house special yellow fried rice, or Chow Kan Pangai, and you're good to go.
mizo diner is a cute restaurant which is run by a lovely lady who takes personal interest in the kitchen. they have the best pork ribs ! the most succulent and tender ribs I have ever had.
Personally being a big fan of trying new cuisines, I have loved all my visits to this place and have taken a lot of my friends here. Their Bamboo Shoot Chicken is fantastic, I always try a new item on their menu and mostly it turns out to be a great dish. Great place overall!
To find this place to dine in was the most difficult task as it's hidden very deep inside the colony and is hidden in plain sight too but the food is worth the find.
Food 4/5
Service 4/5
Ambience 3/5
I've heard about this place for quite sometime. And when I finally went for a dinner...it was wonderful experience . The service was great and food was awesome. I highly recommend the pork ribs 😊 PS: only issue is the lack of parking space!
I’ve been to more than enough Northeastern restaurants to pass my judgement that Mizo Diner is the best in town. I’ve frequented the place and all the food they serve keep amazing me. Such a variety from fermented soybeans to pork fat, shrimp paste, porridge, noodles. The spice gets me going! Definitely the place I take my visitors to Delhi to for them to try heir first Northeastern/Mizo food. :)
Heaven for Meat Lovers ! Serves one of the best pork recipes in Delhi and that too at very reasonable rates. Simply outshines good for nothing big restaurants in Delhi.
Highly Recommended !
The pork is one of the best in Delhi. They give generous amounts for a very affordable price. And the food is also not too rich. The Vawska Rep is something I would recommend. The ambience is very cosy and the people serving are very friendly.
Best pork I've had. I think this place is perfect to introduce someone to Northeastern food because they'll incorporate your preferences. Also, for someone who likes a lot of chilli, the fried buff and accompaniments are stellar. Love you, MD.
This cute little place is hidden in the nooks of Safdarjung Enclave and it's pretty hard to find. They serve some amazing mizo dishes. And it's value for money.
We had ordered Rice Beer, Pork Ribs, Eromba, Vawksa Rep.
The food was amazing. Loved every single of them. The pork wwas really tasty. Quantity is never an issue here. This is definitely a hidden gem.
The food was healthy , reasonable priced and the service was really good. We ate to our heart’s contents and ordered rice with pork dishes . Time and effort to reach here was well worth it .
Tucked in some colony in Delhi, this is definitely a hidden gem. I loved the dry pork and buff chilli gravy. I am most certainly going back for round two. I am excited to try their momos.
For the buff curry. The voksa erfu. FIVE Stars.
Would have been an overall Five Star rating from me, if the place was well illuminated.
Great Mizo food. You’ve got to try the curry line up. Voksa(pork) is the staple.
Graffiti is the centre of attraction.

I visited this place a couple of weeks ago when I actually went out to eat in a different restaurant nearby. The other restaurant was closed and had to enter here. Entering the restaurant, my eyes got set upon the amazing pieces of art that were hung up on the wall which felt really good. The lady who took our order was really welcoming and mild-mannered. She actually suggested us what to try as it was our first time trying out Mizo cuisine. So we ordered 2 steamed rice, a Dal, a Bai (boiled vegetables) and a non-veg pork thali. Each and every thing put at the table had ample quantity and good quality. The pieces of the pork were huge and tender. So, after making memories and quenching our thirsts for something different, we got out with a heavy and happy belly. The only problem we faced was while finding the place as it is situated in a crowded place inside the Humayunpur area. Otherwise, the place is really good. Definitely gonna visit once again soon...
Trying to find a hidden gem, we land up here for lunch. A cute little place with art adorned walls and few people already seated, gives the feel of a eatery in a hill station.
Pork burger - Decent burger, nothing to die for. The patty was quite tasteless.
Non-Veg Chicken Thaali - Best of the lot, feels like home, food. The accompaniments served very spicy and excellent, so was the chicken curry along.
Mushrooms with seasonal vegetables - A little to sweet for taste, must be the sauce it was tossed in.
Chow kan pangai - My company found it bland but I liked it for its simplicity. Every dish has its own character and taste so, liked it.
Lemonade - Decent made drink.
Quantity will never be a problem here, quality maybe. We found a hair in the mushroom. Worth a try for the thaali, will visit again to try something different.
We ordered the Sanpiau porridge, pork momos, chowmein, sachek and egg salad.
Although Sachek was super sandy inside the mouth (won't recommend it), everything else on the table was fresh and enjoyable. We had a sick friend among our midst but the food seemed to revive his taste buds after the first few bites. Particularly loved the momos as it was the good old simple filling of meat chunks, onion, with a hint of garlic maybe. A far cry from the usual indianised dumplings sold in Delhi. And don't leave without trying the cold coffee. It's a house special. It also closely reminded me of GK's famed Depaul cold coffee. Finally, shoutout to the lady who sits in the counter and serves. She was very sweet.
Tried out pork chow( egg top) ,pork thali and eromba.Food was delicious, reminds me of home.
Will definitely come back to try out smoked pork thali.
Being a novice pork eater, had some trouble. :P But it was an amazing experience. The food was delicious. I liked the Bai with bamboo shoots and also the buff intestine.
What a wonderful place! It's nothing like you expect but it's so much more. You get this good hilly vibe on entering the restaurant. A simple place with good songs and great dishes. If you're in for some lip-smacking spicy food, do yourself a favour and visit this place. Light on the pocket and has tremendous variety of dishes from Mizoram cuisine. Spicy, succulent and juicy pieces of meat. Just made my day.
Recommendations : Momos, Buff chilli dry.
Tried it last evening, and the experience was great. We ordered deep fried buff, Vawklu Bawl (roasted pig head seasoned with ground sesame seeds and ginger), Sachek (buff intestines with seasoning). The pork was very tender, and Sachek was a new feeling altogether. Last but not the least, this was the best deep fried buff I ever had in Delhi. It easily beats Kerala style buff fry. Overall, very good change, nice ambience and polite folks.
There is plenty to gorge at this tiny little diner. The walls are cover in bright paintings and the place smells of herbs and meat. The pork ribs though had too much fat was a delight. Wouldn't order the chicken wings again but the pork and buff thali was worth looking through the bylanes of Safdarjung. It's extremely affordable. After overordering and overeating the bill for three people was 1030. Also extremely polite and swift service
A simple, cosy, uncomplicated, traditional and reasonable mizo place where the quality and taste of the delicacies are well maintained and consistent. We started off with pork momos (as buff momos weren't available). The taste of the filling was heavenly and well cooked with a thin crust. Then it was followed by steamed rice, Sangha Chumm and buff Dawl Rep Bai. Sangha chumm tasted mediocre but the Buff Dawl Rep Bai stole the show. The buff was evenly cooked which melted in the mouth with the gravy very silky. Then we ate Buff Fried rice which was also mediocre to taste. Finally we ordered pork ribs which were huge and had to be eaten like cavemen. Overall a good experience.
The food here is pretty good and are reasonably priced. The place has a relaxed vibe to it with Eric Clapton or John Mayer usually playing in the background, with minimalist decor and funky wall art. Although the service is really very slow irrespective of what time you go in. The stir fry buff and the buff chow satui leih are pretty good. The pork ribs were kind of disappointing.
Had an amazing time savouring Dawl Rep Bai and Artui Tauh , took me aback to Northeast. The pork was so tender and pinkish inside infused with local greens and chutney. I served thrice and packed as well.
A fabulous place for Mizo delicacies, traditional food from Mizoram. Mizo Diner in Safdarjung is one of those few restaurants in the capital who have managed to be consistent with their food quality. Try their Pork Momos, Buff Momos, Sangha Chhum (Fish boiled in Mizo style with Garlic, Ginger and Coriander), Bai (seasonal Vegetables freshly prepared in Mizo style), Grilled Chicken Breast and Pok Choy. They also serve amazingly delicious Mizo Thali, both Veg and Non-Veg. The Thali comprises Bai, Tuath, Dal, Fried Potato, Stri Fry Vegetables and Rice. For Non Veg Thali there are three choice of meat – Pork, Buff and Chicken.
If u want to taste some special food from Mizoram then you can go this special place called Mizo diner near Safdarjung#tasty#mizo dish#lunch for two#non-veg special
Ordered the Dawl Rep Bai, Stir Fry Beef, Pork Momos, and Chicken Fried Rice along with Eromba.
Momos were OK, the fillings were good, but the outer layer was a bit too thick. Maybe the fried ones would be better.
The Chicken was damn hot (you have been warned), and tasted great! The beef preparation was also good, but the beef pieces were quite chewy, kind of spoiling the experience. I'll suggest you go for a different stir fry meat.
The portion sizes were decent, too. Whatever we ordered could easily serve three, maybe four.
Overall, worth a visit. And beware of the chillies!
Had the Chow Satui Leih, Vowksa Rep and pork momos, along with a thali. Everything was delicious, and fresh.. You can't beat this quality at these prices. Can't wait to come back and try the rest of the Mizo menu.
This is a small little restaurant in the bylanes of the Humayunpur Village. The nearest landmark is NCC Gate which is the HQ of the National Cadet Corps..near RK Khanna Tennis Stadium..Use google maps to find the place after reaching this location..Tha place is nicely done but still very ordinary and not like some high end restaurant. We ordered one chicken fried rice, one veg thali and one lemonade..The thali was really good..With rice, dal, potato fries type, salad, and one more vegetable..The serving was generous..The salad was stand out and really very tasty..grated peanuts were added in it and it was just awesome..when you go to a new place you want some innovation in the food and this was really good..The chicken fried rice was just like any other place..The lemonade was refreshing..The place is not hard hitting on the pocket..local north eastern guys and girls flock there..They accept only cash..If they have changed that then it is good..The food overall was really good..
Its one of the best. Boksa rep outstanding. Even there porridge type dish is so good. Pocket friendly. Being family type restaurant is slow in service but its manageable
It is a small place to have good simple soothing food. We ordered veg thali and fried rice. Veg thali was a mizo veg thali, it had a dal with no spices but good, salad with ground peanut dressing- I loved it the most, two kinds of sabji- it was good too, and plain rice. We had lemon drink also- simple, good ..the way it tastes when I make it at home- no syrups or artificial flavours.Fried rice I think we should not have ordered, well maybe the experience at any diner also depends on the things that you order. At Mizo diner order Mizo :). It has a basic but clean washroom as well.
Located in Humayunpur, this is a small place with awesome Mizo food. I , being from the North-east, was craving for some rice and pork. My friends introduced me to this place, and I was not disappointed.
We ordered pork momos and pork thalis. The pork thali contains plain rice, dal, boiled veggies, three types of chutneys and pork curry. The pork was properly cooked and tasted perfect. It was not much spicy and pieces were big. The momos were about average as you get much better momos elsewhere.
The food was nicely presented and the service was good. It's a pocket friendly place. I am surely going there again!
One of those tiny places in Humayunpur, where you get authentic mizo cuisine. We ordered two non veg thalis, one grilled chicken and some lemonade. The thalis were fine for three people. They tasted good too. The grilled chicken on the other hand was not well cooked and very dry. Also, grilled without salt, it was very difficult to eat.
Mizo diner is one of those places you should try when you want something different, simple and delicious. Firstly the place is cute.. The graffitis on the wall give quite a young vibe to it. The music is soft, yet upbeat.
I had ordered for stuffed eggs and Grilled chicken as starters... While the eggs were delicious, I would have liked the chicken to be more tender. It was however grilled chicken, quite simply just traditionally grilled with not many spices.
The traditional mizo non veg thali was quite delicious. The chicken was soft, and the other accompaniments mildly flavoured. The dish comes with an onion-red chilly side and a green chilly dip. I quite enjoyed my dinner and would go back to try other dishes.

Tucked away in the Safdarjung Enclave, Mizo Diner is yet another great place to have some Tibetan food. Their varieties are rich, quality is laudable and the service is also very fine. Came to know about this place through Zomato and decided to check it out thereafter.
Here is the list of items that I had-
Steamed Chicken Momo- Comes with a proper filling and a delectable taste.
Grilled Chicken Breasts- Juicy and scrummy.
Chicken Curry- Served in handsome portions and prepared in the native mizo spices. Tasted very fine.
Altogether, Mizo Diner was a delight.
Look forward to coming here again!
FINAL VERDICT-
Quality- 4/5
Service- 4/5
Affordability- 4/5
On the Whole- 4/5
Located in the shabby neighbourhood of Safdarjung, the place offers the most authentic Mizo food (in case you don't know, Mizoram is locatedNorthEast India). The place serves the best pork in town. If you love pork or want to try different cuisine, then you should come here. But if you need roti, breads, etc. then the place do not serve those. Sanpiau, a rice porridge is also something you can try, other than this, I don't really recommend the place unless you are from north east, or a great foodie, or pork lover. If you are vegetarian then there is not much to choose from
here serve the best pork in town. if you like pork, then you go here. but if you need roti, etc. then they do not serve those. they serve authentic Mizo food here which might not be suitable for some people.
The mizo diner is very good the service is very good the food is very good the French fries is very good sitting arrangement is good the chair are very good the environment is very.
I really liked the noodle and fried rice. I know this might not be the great place for it but the momo is pathetic. Ordered steamed and fried momo and both were pretty pathetic. Mixed Fried rice is good.
I stay in Safdarjung and whenever I m hungry I always go for noodles or momos or fried rice. I have tried fried rice and noodles from almost all the joints in Safdarjung but believe me this place has the best fried rice and noodles. It reminds me of the ones we get back home . I m from Nagaland and hence I know how the taste we get back home. I love the thick noodles and not those yellow ones which all the Tibetan restaurants use. Their buff fried rice is a must try. Keep up the taste and quality and I ll be ordering more n more 😊
The place is nice and clean a bit funky. The mom is are much different and better. The pork curry , fish fry and potato mash are a staple. There signature which I will recommend is smoked pork.
This place serves great Pork ribs. I'm taking away 1.5 from the rating as the ambience is slightly dull. The thali they serve is quite filling and the side dishes are great too.
Recently visited the place & the food is absolutly lip smacking. Staff is very courteous, loved the over all experience nd the vibe of the place.
For those of you who are familiar with the basics of North-Eastern food, Mizo Diner is a good place to be a little more adventurous and experimental. The predominantly North-Eastern clientele allows the restaurant to serve a menu that includes more than pork ribs, bamboo shoots and momos.
I am going to keep this short and sweet, since I need to better understand the cuisine of North-East in order to be able to critique it an adequate manner. That being said, the restaurant gets the basics right – everything was well cooked, nothing was poorly flavored and the ingredients were fine.
Following are the items we ordered:
a) Stuffed eggs – They were a hit. I am still not sure what the stuffing was made out of, but it surely was one of the most original items that I have tried in a while.
b) Iced Tea– Fantastic. No complaints.
c) Chow Satui Leih: This could pass off as one of the noodle soups you find in Vietnam. There weren’t too many ingredients though – just noodle, pork and soup. Good, but not spectacular.
d) Pork Thali:
Dal- It was simple and mildly flavored, with a thin consistency – the way I usually prefer, but might be a little bland for some.
The pork served as part of the thali had just too much oil. This is one of the improvement areas. In addition, the pieces served were full of fat and had very less actual meat (/protein).
Bai (A salad consisting of fresh vegetables) – A pleasant item, with peanuts providing a welcome contrast of texture and flavor.
Food: 3.5
Value for money: 4
Cost for two: 500 (or even lower)
After hearing my friend talk constantly about this establishment, I finally decided to accompany her for some authentic Tibetan food. Located away from the public view, Mizo Diner is a quaint dining place. It's dim-lighted, with graffiti on the wall and is a little pleasant to the eyes. There was light music playing and they had just 1 or 2 people serving/cooking.
While browsing through the menu, my friend was very excited about the pig's head and the bamboo shoot, but unfortunately, they were out of both these dishes because of the seasonal availability of bamboo shoot. So, we settled for Sachek (Buff intestines with Mizo seasonings) and Stir fry pork. Along with that, we ordered Stuffed Eggs and Iced Tea.
The Iced Tea and the Stuffed Eggs came soon enough, and I kid you not, it was the best Iced Tea I've ever had. My friend liked it so much that she had to order it too. And, the eggs were absolutely delicious. Light, creamy and refreshing.
The Stir Fry Pork was quite good as well. It was served with a lot of veggies and was really filling. What disappointed us was the Sachek. It smelled like green tea and the taste was very bitter. The meat itself melted in the mouth and the aftertaste wasn't bad, but the bitterness, combined with the awareness of eating intestines was too much. So, this dish would clearly be loved by those with a more adventurous palate.
The lady manning the area was quite courteous and sweet, and overall, the experience was new and nice. I would definitely visit this place again, just for the eggs and iced tea. Oh, and the overall expense was about 500 ! Truly worth a try.
Such a nice little place hidden from view!
The place has great ambience. And the portions of food are really big! The folks are really polite and cooperative. Must visit for an experience.
Two words: Mind-blowing Thali.
Remember to go in with an empty stomach. The portions are stunning. Unlimited dal and vegetables. The Bai is the perfect palate cleanser and the salad should come with a warning about how light and fresh it is.
Tucked away from all the noise, the place is sparse but quirky. Run by friendly people who always serve you with a smile. Immensely pleased to have been here.
A mizo-diner-believer.
I have been a regular here for the past 4 years or so. They are one of those few restaurants who have managed to be consistent with their food. Let me tell you first, Safdarjung is a north east food heaven and so if you haven't explored this yet then i guess its time! Try their pork and buff momos, its to live for. The mizo pork with bamboo shoot is a very nice variation from other north east cuisine. Its like a clear hearty broth with large bamboo shoot chunks. Man I tell ya you will be delighted. They serve all their food with 2 chutneys that could blow the steam out of some. On your way out, ask for kuhva, which is mizo for green betel nut wrapped in the sweet betel leaf variety of the east.
Don't be fooled by the looks and the location. The food here is first rate. Very homely atmosphere. Authentic, strong North East flavours along with a menu of sandwiches and salads if that is your thing. The pork ribs and smoked pork with greens my favourites but really everything was great.
Update- After nearly a year I visited this place again. It has changed to a brightly lit little place. We tried the grilled chicken, it chewy and over cooked. Chicken wings nothing great about it. Chicken soup was good and soulful, complete with pepper and garlic it will definitely warm you up. Chicken curry was just like home made chicken curry, super spicy, really enjoyed it but couldn't eat too much.
Hidden gems, regular here, I realised few things. You shouldn't expect great service and fancy ambience at the price they are offering good quality food. This little eatery is an home venture. One person, serving and billing. I had chicken curry, stir fry chicken, egg fried rice, egg salad. Fresh, delicious, you tend to stuff yourself too much. Nice serving size. Complete comfort food. Definitely worth visiting every month.
Stumbled upon a foodie heaven thanks to zomato the Google of food. Most authentic food places will have a very understated demeanour and this was no different.. A real foodie never really cares about location or the ambience of a place. Food should be good. If you are a meat eater particularly beef or pork then this place is a must visit. Trust me it doesn't get better than this. Buff stir fried was mind blowing with chunky flavoursome cuts with oodles of fresh veggies (though I left most of the greens on the plate) . I also ordered the smoked pork with steamed rice which no one can replicate. There was this charcoal flavour which lingers on hours after. Am going back tomorrow to try other offerings. The staff is totally cool like all north easterners are. All I can say is I feel blessed to have discovered what I was yearning for and its not far from my place. Yahoo!
This place specializes in food from Mizoram and promises mouth watering delicacies.
Found the Mizo thali to be amazing.
Easy on pocket too.
A must try.
There are times when you dont need fancy decor or some fine dining. You just crave a cozy place for some good food and peaceful conversations. This is exactly what Mizo Diner promises and that too, without burning a hole in your pocket.
The food here is just delectable! We went here super hungry, during lunch time and quickly ordered for the basics - chowmein, chicken soup and stuffed eggs with lemonade. Both, veg and non veg chowmein were served with chilly chutney and were a delight to the tastebuds with just the right amount of spicy and veggies. The chicken soup was another delicious thing! Our favourite, however were the stuffed eggs! They were bites of total bliss!
Another amazing thing about this place is the artistic decor. The walls adorn bright street art pieces with no overdone decor or lighting. This gives a homely and a cozy vibe to this place.
Apprehensive about going here at first, we are so glad we tried this place out! We are definitely going here more often.
Arguably the best place in Delhi which serves mouth-watering pork. This place is a hidden gem and to miss their pork dishes will be considered as a crime. From Pork Curry to Pork Bamboo Shoot to the signature Smoked Pork with Leafy Greens, each item is a gem. And to make everything even better, the items don't cost a bomb. They are easy on the pocket and retains the authenticity of North-East. A must visit for all Pork lovers.
Humayunpur has for some years been a hub of northeastern food. One of the newer places in the area is this cute little restaurant, specialising in food from Mizoram. The Mizo Diner is decked with bright street art pieces, with simple, spacious furniture. This being our first visit, we stuck to the basics. On our dinner menu was a Mizo veg thali, chau satui, vawksa rep, and buff intestines, all washed down with fizzy soda. The service was fast and delivered with a smile.
The thali arrived with a small mountain of fine basmati rice and a series of accompaniments in small bowls. In the thali we were served a delicious plain boiled masur dal, bai, a veggie stir fry, fried potatoes, and a peanut and cabbage salad. The bai, for the uninitiated, is a seasonal light vegetable stew, which was filled with crunchy beans and aubegrine. It was savoury and delicious. The stir fry was a simple affair of carrots and beans in soy sauce. The potatoes resembled French fries, but chunkier. The only letdown if you will, was the cabbage and peanut salad, which was a bit bland, and seemed eclipsed by the flavours of the other dishes.
By the time we were starting on the thali, a large bowl of the vawka rep arrived, filling the table with the aroma of smoked pork. The dish was simplicity itself, a broth of chunky smoked pork and cabbage, light yet full of magnificent flavour. The chau satui was a noodle soup with lentils, which was light, but I was too distracted by the smoked pork. The sweet lady at the counter also served us a small portion of delightful onions in chilli oil, as well as a serving of hmarcha rawt (red chili chutney). This of course, we polished off with glee.
I'm not a huge fan of offal, but the buff intestines was glorious, a brown curry of chopped water buffalo liver, stomach and guts. A bit gamey if you will, but delicious and savoury if you're up for a bit of an adventure.
By the time we wrapped up dinner, we were feeling like living tankards, sighing with satiety. Mizo Diner will definitely be seeing us at the table again very soon. The food isn't for everyone, and vegetarians will be disappointed, but if you're ever in the mood for light soul food, this place has it.
We loved: the best vawksa rep in town, the chili chutney, and the great service
We shrugged: the salad in the thali was nondescript
Rated: 4/5
I stumbled onto this place when I was still exploring the area around the National Cadet Corps premises during my first few months after I relocated to Safdarjung Enclave. I wanted to try it out right away since unfortunately I had never really tried authentic Mizo food till then.
We ordered Vawksa Rep which is smoked pork prepared with leafy greens along with steamed rice. Double thumbs-up to the curry. The service was commendable too! The great first impression the place left on me made me want to order in from them on a lazy Sunday afternoon some weeks later. I ordered a pork fried rice and fried buff momos. The momos were great however I was a little disappointed with such meager fillings but the fiery chutney sent along with the momos were superb. The fried rice now was kind of bland and extremely lumpy and not fried properly in places. I had lumps of white rice in my fried rice.
I am still very keen to try out other things from their menu and hope that the last home delivery experience was just one of their bad days. Looking forward to dining there again!
Had Veg Thali and Sanpiau. Really authentic food, makes me miss home so much. Price is quite affordable. Food is really good and the waiters and the owner were all very nice! Had a great time will definitely go back very soon!
What a fantastic restaurant! We came in for lunch on a Thursday and even though we were the only ones in the restaurant, within 30 minutes the entire place was packed! Felt very lively and I guess it’s a good way to feel like being in Mizoram without actually being there!
First off, our server Bebi (I hope I spelled it right) was so patient and explained the whole menu to us and gave us great recommendations for what to order. We ordered the Aloo Chop, Pork Momos, Grilled Chicken Salad, Smoked Pork Fried Rice, Chow Kan Pangai with egg, and Pork Ribs. Everything was so flavorful and delicious! I highly recommend this restaurant. Excellent Mizo food and my favorite NE Indian restaurant in Delhi! Oh yeah we also got some fresh buzu (rice beer) and it was refreshing and delicious!
The Chow Kan Pangai has sauce and is dryer while I believe that the Chowsatuileh has soup. We also want to try the Porridge next time, the Pork curry (which was also recommended) and some of the the Chawhmeh items (which are various subjee/sabzi dishes).
All in all, fantastic restaurant, a great place to bring both friends and family and try something new each time. I also love how Mizo Diner stays proud of its Mizo roots and let’s it’s customers enjoy authentic Indian food you will not be able to find elsewhere!
An excellent restaurant. I ate here a few times and every dish I tried was on point. The food is flavorful and authentic. The portions are quite large and more than enough for one person.
The service is also commendable. The longest I had to wait was just 10 mins which was during rush hour.
Overall, 10/10. It's a must-try if you want to taste true north-eastern cuisine.
Absolutely loved it !!! The food is so damn good ! I tried veg thali, non-veg tauh (buff salad), chowmien, cold coffee and the star performer ' rice beer' which was the best which you will ever have🤤🤩. The atmosphere and the service was top notch. It also not very expensive 😎
If you want to try mizo food, i would highly recommend this place !
Definately visiting again ❤️
Pretty tasty, especially the smoked pork and the bamboo shoot fry. Want to go back for the ribs. Super economical
We had Sawchair, Sanpiau and Thali. Good quality food. The service is too good.
Food is satisfactory for my Arunachalee Tastebud. Lady manager and Lady Staffs were all hospitable. Would love to visit again. Ordered smoked pork thali with extra chutney and 1 water bottle. Total= 480, reasonable rate as per taste.
Mizo Diner offers the best Rice Beer experience in Delhi by far. Good rice beer in Delhi is hard to come by and this restaurant fills up this vacuum in the perfect way. At its modest prices and quick service, Mizo Diner provides one of the best options in the city to try flavours from North East India or spend an eventful evening binging on rice beer and gorging on their signature Buff Tao.
Perfect Northeast vibes. Good services and top of all, food.
One of the best restaurants I visited lately, the food was awesome and the vibe, just don't ask. You must try it out.
You can also come there at the weekend. 😉😌
Best place to eat northeast cuisines 😍
Good service and awesome environment loved the place
My first time here and Mizo food but I have enough experience of different cuisines including enough North Eastern Indian and South East Asian cuisines to know that such amazing food is not easy to find in mainstream Indian cities. Clean place, nice atmosphere and amazing food, what's not to love! Don't miss the Pork Soup of the Buff Chilli.
I love It.. The Food The forever Smiling Staff and the lady who runs it all ,are all my personal Fav 😍
