So i was there last week with my friend and elder sister and my cute little niece first we order soups which was beyond my expectation then we order crispy chilli which had a Chinese touch it was good and unique must try
After that we order masala dosa , rava onion and Kadhai paneer with lacha and butter roti
Obviously dosas are excellent and authentic specially sambar but the one thing happened there which really shocked me that Kadhai paneer their north Indian also too good i mean literally me and my sister did’nt expected that and one thing i noticed about their janakpuri branch is they take care well of things and staff was also very cooperative. At last all i want to say that is thank you❤️.

Located just next to the metro station of Janakpuri west. This restaurant belongs to the Sagar Ratna chain of restaurants. The restaurant, their kitchen and surroundings is clean and hygienic. Staff is professional and trained. All mode of payments are accepted. Menu has many varieties and options. They have also started North Indian delicacies to their menu. Food is tasty and delicious and prepared with perfection. Today I had Podi Idly Combo, Masala Dosa and Vada Sambar. Everything was perfectly prepared.

Sagar Ratna haa never disappointed us. They underwent a change sometime back post which a few old outlets got shut down and a makeover was done on the rest. The food too got the consistency it had been missing.
Have had Masala Dosa, Upma and Rice Idli on various ocassions and have loved it always. Dahi Vada is something I never miss and is a must for me. A great place for a typical South Indian fare.
The managers and the service staff here are too polite and take good care of the guests. They tell you and explain about the food item very well and how it is prepared so that you can easily make your choice and try new food too.

Mysore Masala Dosa was so crispy and had perfect spices. It was served with different types of chutneys and sambhar.
Fresh Lime Water was so refreshing.
Gulab Jamun with Ice Cream was so delicious. The combination of two was just excellent.
The place is best everyone to hang out with friends and family.
It offers a huge variety of food that too vegetarian and it's specialization is in South Indian Food.
I had Mysore Masala Dosa which was too yummy because the filling done in was too gud and the spices were properly cooked that it was giving a flavour in it.
In beverages I had Fresh Lime Water which was a soothing experience for me to make my day.
And at last in desert I had Gulab Jamun with Ice Cream which was a perfect way to end up your meal.

Its a family place and since it's near to my home I keep on visiting this place regularly. The service is slower than normal because of the crowdy atmosphere it always has.
Do try dahi vada and vegetable salt & pepper. Both of them are fantastic especially dahi vada. Among the dosas, I loved mysore masala dosa and onion rawa masala dosa. Most of the time they have a 1+1 offer for rasam. They provide aplam along with rasam.
Overall, a nice place for family outing.

Recently had a Typical South Indian Dinner at Sagar Ratna and it was a Wonderful Experience.
I had their Rawa Mysore Masala Dosa,Masala Dosa and Puri Subji.
The Food was Average but i Loved their Sevice and Ambience.
Yesterday I went here for family dinner.
We ordered Shahi Paneer, Dal Makhni, Mixed Raita and some Naan.
The overall experience was really satisfactory.

Great food from Sagar Ratna , we keep on ordering from Sagar Ratna very regularly and the food is great. The kids love their masala dosa and vadas. My personal favourite is Dahi vada, absolutely delicious!

This branch of Sagar ratna have been always our family's favorite as it is one of the oldest and the feel of the restaurant is also quite authentic.
Great place to go with family for a decent south Indian cuisine experience.
You may have to wait in the queue on weekend or special holidays but not for long, since they have enough seating arrangement.

Sagar Ratna special Dosas are famous for their extraordinary taste and authentic style of presentation. Mysore masala dosa and Ghee roast masala dosa are my favourite.
Do try some Medu Vada, Rawa Idli and Dal Vadas!! They also serve deluxe Thali- Sagar special South Indian thali.

It is a very nice place. The ambience is very good. The waiters are also polite and take the order very respectfully and patiently. The food is very hygenic and it is very good. Masala dosa is a must try over any outlet of sagar ratna as it is mostly famous for dosa and other south indian food. The Chinese platter is also very delicious. The north indian thali that they serve is so fullfilling and yummy that you will always come again to have it one more time.

Mainly, the South Indian thali and masala dosa are exceptionally good. It is also a quiet decent place for family get togethers and birthday parties. Overall, very much satisfied with the restaurant.

First, the masala dosa tasted the same as any other restaurant would serve.. accompanied by mint chutney, sambar which tasted yum but more than that I loveeedddd the coconut and tomato onion chutney (I'm drooling heheh).
Second, the lemon rice, it was extremely refreshing, light and flavourful sour rice I have ever tasted and that roasted peanuts and curry leaves took the plain rice to another level.. accompanied with dahi(curd) and papadum.
Third, Dahi Vada... honestly saying.. I Never thought that dahi vada could taste so deliiiiiiccccioooss. It was quite similar to dahi bhalle but with chilli, tomato, cucumber and handful of boondi(fried gram flour). I am surely gonna come here to eat this againnnn.
Last, South Indian Filter Coffee... ordered this because I love it's incomparable intense aroma.
According to me this is a best place for a South Indian lunch with family and friends.
We were there yesterday. We are group of 9 people. Ordered fresh lime in water. Water was on room temperature and resturant doesn't have even ice cube. Mix veg uttapam was awful. It was thick on sides and even not cooked properly. Taste of food was also not of the standard of Sagar Ratna.

The most hygienic and perfect serving place, no doubt about their food taste , they are as amazing as they look like . I Wish they can have something different in their own way in the food menu .

What makes it my Favourite?
For starters, it is one of the good places to eat authentic South Indian cuisine with a bent towards flavours of Karnataka. With affordable prices, clean surroundings, fresh food, and quick service, Sagar Ratna is a pure vegetarian family restaurant. A strong grasp on the fast moving F&B scene, the restaurant has gone on a creative spree and brought out innovative dosas and idlis, while retaining the authentic taste.
Ever thought of eating vada with sweet curd-twist? Yes, we are talking about our fav. Dahi vada. This Dahi Vada on the menu comes up with lots of boondi, some pomegranate inside the curd along with a big size Vada, topped with chatpati chutneys, trust me this is one summer-friendly snack that I know.
Here's another kind - The Maharaja Dosa. We took a bite of the Maharaja Dosa which is your answer to a veg roll/pizza/sandwich. I found it healthier because it's fresh and prepared without any preservatives.
Then there's Sagar Ratna's core competency - Special Vada Pao. Apparently it's quite a favourite with the Children. The innovations leave you spoiled for choice.
We too tried madras idly fries and Podi idlis, those were mini idlis served with Nugulu Podi.
Oh, and I forgot to mention the combo meals. I ended my meal with Rava Kesari and Mysire Pak along with filter coffee.

Sagar ratna has one of the awesome dosas ... I had ordered hot garlic Dosa which was tasty ... Other things that we had ordered were veg cheese Dosa , chedinnad Dosa , rawa masala Dosa and vegetable uttapam ... Cheese Dosa was something unique and very yum... everyone Should try cheese Dosa once ... the service was a bit poor ...our order came after an hour which was not at all acceptable...but the wait was worth.
this is a total family place....parking easily available....the place is mostly crowded...because you get everything here either south indian or north indian.....food at its best
Always loved SagarRatna Vikaspuri for its service and food quality. SagarRatna's South Indian is excellent without any doubt. From dosas to Idli to Uttapams all are excellent. I always loved this branch of Sagar Ratna for the ambience,hygiene,big space,service.

Sagar Ratna is the best place to have South Indian food.They also serve North Indian food but their speciality is south indian. We tried the Mysore Masala Dosa and Rava Kesari and both of them were awesome. Will order from there again soon.

This is the only place you can look forward to have the most delicious and scrumptious south indian food. This is my go to places when i crave for idli or dosa. Totally love their dahi vada. This is the only south indian restaurant which is almost everywhere in Delhi and can be trusted wholeheartedly.
Wada and idli costs 155+gst . u can make a idli and combination and total quantity will be 3. Sambhar and chutney was good. Wadas were very small and idli was ok.
Badam milk was ok ok total bill was around 275 rs so rating- food 7/10 ambience 7/10 staff 8/10 value for money 7.5/10.

Sagar Ratna has been the face of South Indian food in Delhi and many major cities with dozens of branches all over. Anyone who eats and enjoys South Indian food has been to Sagar Ratna atleast once in their lifetime. Sadly, I and many have witnessed the downfall in quality of food at almost every Sagar Ratna over the years. For the past few years, their food could be best described as below average, if one was being generous. However, recently the service and quality of food has seen a major increment. The food, though no way eminent, is not atleast above average (still a major improvement from before). The improvement can be witnessed over dosas, idly and even the chutny. Even the North Indian food has seen some major improvement and is a good choice if one doesn't like South Indian cuisine, their Chinese food on the other hand severely lacks quality and flavours.
The ambience of every Sagar Ratna including this one is mediocre although it does get loud and irritating due to closely placed seating so I would recommend going at odd hours unless you wanna hear other people talk.
Pricing can't be justified as per the quality of food as there are many restaurant providing better quality of food at the same or even less price but the convenience due to distance can't be denied. Whenever I am in a mood to eat South Indian food, I don't want to drive 20km to get to a better place forcing me to visit this branch every other week or atleast once a month. Good to see the quality of this branch improving, hoping it becomes the face of "quality" south indian food again. Will update my review if that day ever comes.

Whenever we think of family outing...the first name comes in our mind sagar ratna. They have all those options in their food menu which will be liked by your parents.we ordered Dahi vada,rasam n papad which was quite good. But this time I was not the quality of dosa. Rest we enjoyed alot....good service...billing on time...we will visit again.
Today we visited here and ate Lahsuni Mirchi paratha, Gobhi dry manchurian and Gadbad Sundae. Lahsuni mirchi paratha was so tasty with green chutney and achar. Gobhi manchurian was also very tasty and Gadbad sundae. Servicing was so nice. Whole atmosphere was so piecefull.

The restaurant is undergoing complete renovation. So if one expects ambiance, they are in for a big disappointment. The restaurant is managing with the interior in total shambles. I ordered South Indian thali and it had a good variety of dishes. Each was super yummy and soul satisfying and completely wholesome. service was good too.
The place has good seating space with suttle ambience. The staff is suttle with good service. We had ordered breakfast combo which was good enough for 5-6 people in quantity. All the food was fresh except the coconut chutney which was a little wierd in taste. So it's a good place for South Indian food + much more to explore. Recommended for family outings.

A pure vegetarian South Indian restaurant that has been in this neighbourhood for at least the last decade and before that was located a few kms away.
Parking is a problem ...though not good quality food. Chutneys are good, Sambhar delightful, the ambience is good enough for family dining.
Great place for food from Southern India. Even North Indian food is equally good here. Service personnel are very attentive. Prices are little bit on higher side, but is worth it.

Dahi idli, poodi idli, tomato uttapam, upma... All were excellent... They give you unlimited chutney and sambhar.

Great taste, tried dosa and idly both were good, but two issues, one is the THEY DONOT SERVE FILTER COFFEE on weekends which is senseless, disappointing. Also the way they manage the Swiggy and Zomato orders from same gate is also bad, as gate is always crowded by delivery agents.
This is a very old eating joint. It was nice to go there after more than 10 years. Though maintenance work is presently underway, the ambience is still good.
