One of the oldest restaurant in this market, have been visiting it with my family since I was a child. The butter chicken with dal makhani and butter naan is a standard order here
Old Delhi charm...amazing butter chicken
Super yummy Dal makhani
Rotis are well made
It's a must visit for all butter chicken lovers
I am feed up of your forced review. Will you enable me to otder
A family dinner at Moti Mahal was so good, we got some veg and some non veg dishes and both were tasty and filling. Each dishes were nicely flavored. Nice ambiance and well decorated.
Very neat and clean ambiance. Good customer service and very quick staff.
It is the best Indian restaurant. The most authentic and delicious Indian food ever
If you are craving for some delicious North Indian & Mughlai food then this is the perfect place to visit. For the starters we ordered :Orderd chilli potatohakka noodlestandoori plattermurg tikka .
Coming to the main course we had :mutton rogan joshdal makhni paneer lababdaregg curry with their special big naan and which was very delicious. Nothing Can Beat There Delicacy And Taste
Ordered Butter Chicken - always a classic - and was not disappointed. The prices are on the higher side but it tasted great and was seasoned appropriately. The delivery was prompt as well.
The ultimate butter chicken ever ! Chicken tikka is not to be missed . 30 years - never been disappointed . The staff is friendly and mostly accommodating
Moti Mahal has been a popular restaurant for decades and I can see why...even if the decor is average...the taste and the flavor of the food is authentic to the core...the garlic naan is a must try...dal tadka and butter chicken ..I've never had better than this place...it's totally a worth try... especially if you're tired after shopping in GK...you just crash at this place and have a great meal!
A very good option for fine dining. This place offers a high quality eating experience. Located in one of Delhi's top notch localities, the ambience is a treat of it's own. The food is simply amazing. An absolute must try, highly recommended.
Moti Mahal is a place that I've been dining at since childhood. Have been visiting the place for more than 20 years and the butter chicken here is to die for. Infact it would be the one dish I would like to have right before I die.
We had the following:
Chicken Tikka (8.5/10)
Mutton Burrah(9/10)
Butter chicken with butter Naan(11/10)
Great place for family dinners. Their Dal makhani and butter chicken are my all time favourites.
I even like their American chopsuey and murg malai tikka.
The ambience of the place is decent and staff is really courteous.
I have been visiting this place for quite sometime now and my experience has always been good.
Good place with nice quiet ambiance which you expect from a quality family restaurant. I personally found it overpriced than usual, but its in gk so that's normal 😉. Ordered tandoori chicken, butter chicken and naan. Tandoori chicken was ok but you expected more from moti mahal. Butter chicken was very good with perfect balance of spices and flavours, naan was fluffy. Overall if you are in GK you can try this out.
Food: 4/5

Amazing food.....had chicken Tikka ..it was soft and yum ...had chicken tava masala that was full if masala..loved it. Will definitely visit it again
Moti Mahal has been a "go to" place for all the non veg lovers for ages now...
We went to this outlet of Moti Mahal for a family dinner for my father's birthday. We had a setback when we saw that the menu updated on Zomato is no way near to the actual menu given to us then. We tried ordering soup (as we saw it in the zomato menu) we were told that they do not offer soup. Also, the prices are very different in both menus, being higher in the restaurant menu.
But we continued with our dinner anyhow and ordered Chicken Tikka, Tandoori Chicken, Tandoori veggies for starters and Dal Makhni, butter chicken, navratan korma and paneer khurchan with assorted breads in main course.
We were served well, though there was a little waiting time, but looking at the jam packed restaurant, that was understandable. The food was really delicious except the korma which was too creamy. Quantity of food was good as well. Our tummies were satisfied, so were we even after a hicked start.
It is recommended that you reserve your tables in advance to avoid waiting outside.
It's my go to place for mughlai cuisine.
I've been her Nth times.
I would recommend their dal makhni, veg. Bartha, butter chicken, chicken pakoda, mutton seekh kebab, mutton burra accompanied with butter naan.
For authentic Mughlai food which tastes exactly the same like Bukhara of Maurya ,A person should always try this place . I visited this place last week and ordered dal makhani, mutton barrah ,Chicken tikka and there famous butter chicken .There mutton burra have a smoky flavour and the marination is so delicious which is irresistible .The butter chicken is absolutely lip smacking. The ambience is not really great as its an old place but still if you love mughlai food ,you should definitely visit this place once !
I had dinner there with my family and it was awesome for being seated there and eating in peace.
We had Tandoori Chicken , Butter Naan , Butter Chicken Boneless , Chicken Tikka Masala and it all tasted wowsome 😍
The ambience was also best and the staff people were friendly and nice.
Offers Indian Authentic cuisine. Have heard about this restaurant and finally got an opportunity to visit them . Was lucky enough to get a table immediately after stepping inside . Decided to order the famous and authentic Butter Chicken with Lachha Paratha.
Butter Chicken was full of buttery flavor with a tangy twist.
Lachha Partha was hot and little crispy topped with pure desi ghee.
Half Portion of Butter chicken was enough for two person.
Ambience was again authentic , comfortable seating arrangements with unmatchable service offering by helpful and courteous staff. They took good care of us despite being busy hours. Iam amused by their traditional indian hospitality. Will definitely recommend people to visit them and experience it . Your tummy will be very happy .
If you are craving for some fantastic North Indian cuisine while shopping in GK-1 , this is the place to be . The seating capacity is limited and once u enter the place it would remind you of the old eaten joints where r parents used to take us for family dinner . The food was great specially the dal makhni and malai kofta. The menu is on the expensive side but considering the amount that we pay for junk food , its completely worth it . Loved those little bowls of water and lemon to clean hands post the eating session . Definitely took me down the memory lane !!

This outlet has great stature in the neighbourhood for the excellent North Indian food they serve, since ages.
Eventhough, it is slightly on the expensive side, it still offers a diverse range Vegetarian and Non-veg cuisines which are insanely delicious.
I've tried their Butter Chicken, Chicken Tikka, Paneer Tikka and Dal Makhni multiple times. So, uf you're confused what to have here, they you can go for these safe and lip-smacking options.
Being a foodie moti mahal is the one stop place for some delicious butter chicken & butter naan .
The only place where we get the most delicious butter chicken .
The best part is they offer butter gravy as well .
Must try is the chicken pakora .
Recommend to all
Had lunch at the iconic Moti Mahal this afternoon. You could call this the most flawless meal. Ordered the butter chicken,Kali Dal and Palak Paneer. All the items were worthy of full marks. Lovely service and decent ambience.
Unknown it looks from outside. Though it is right on the left as you enter the GK-1 M BLOCK MARKET but the doors are always closed so don't get confused. It is a restaurant not any under construction place.
Now if you happen to knock and get in you will feel exactly what you might feel inside a closed room without windows.
Now coming to food. Moti Mahal never disappoints anyone on food front so m glad one thing was right FOOD.
I ordered following:
1) Dal Makhni
2) Kadhai Paneer
3) Jeera Rice
4) Butter Roti
5) Lacha Paratha

Visit this place for food. It is actually tasty.
P.S: They don't have south Indian food :/
Tandoori chicken , haryali tikka , chicken pakora and the butter chicken .. never a single complaint..divine .. these guys have been consistently serving good food for good knows how long
A legendary place by all means. Branch of The famous Moti Mahal of Darya ganj... average ambience, they have the same decor n furniture as they had when they started probably 3 decades back but then the taste of the food also remains the same. Top class!!
Butter chicken- No amount of praise is enough for this one. The most amazing butter chicken one can get on their palate. Not sweet or too creamy, just the perfect one.
Mutton Burra- Amazingly marinated huge chunks of tender lamb, Char grilled to perfection. The meat was so fresh and juicy! Loved it
Brain tawa masala- Another signature dish of theirs.
Pudhina paratha- was crispy n yumm. Loved it with that loads of butter on it.

My point-
I always say Bombay can’t come close to what delhi offers u in taste n freshness, specially where Mughal dishes are in Q. Bombay can’t make a decent sheekh kebab or tikka forget burra. And butter chicken... Bombay is the worst at it. I wonder what’s the issue.
This place stands up to its legendary tag with the same taste, quality n quantity. People should take a lesson from them for sure!
This old era 🦖 T-Rex is still alive in this era of online mkt and price war like situation. Had their butter chicken after long time tasted like any other, Dal makkhani is still going strong in flavour. Had garlic Naan found it raw on edges and hardly edible missi was fine
Enter the restaurant and get hold of Mr Alam, a true gentleman who will serve you to heart. Unarguably the best butter chicken on planet ...no exaggeration as the gravy strikes the perfect balance between tomato and cream. Surprisingly after having it you will never feel acidic
This restaurant doesn't look like a restaurant at all. Black glasses and locked doors and you won't think it's a restaurant until you see the board.
Like all moti Mahal good north Indian food- good quality, good quantity, good service. We ordered biryani, butter naan, matar mashroom and dal datka everything was utpo the moti Mahal mark.
I went to Moti Mahal with friends as we were in a mood to have Butter Chicken. I am not a big fan but I felt otherwise after having their awesome Butter Chicken, Butter Naan & Mutton Pulao. Everything was up to the mark. This place gets crowded even on weekdays during Dinner so make sure to reserve a table. 😊

If you are a die-hard foodie then this is exactly the place for you. And non-veg lovers, you will be head over heels.
Must try-
Non-veg Tandoori Platter which includes Seekh kabab, tandoori chicken, Chicken Malai Tikka and chicken legs with Dal Makhni and butter naan.
Been here like 20 times. It hasn't changed much. Management also stays the same for alot of time. Best part of the restrau has always been it's DAL MAKHANI. Love it. You can go for their khadhai paneer and all dry veggies are good to try.
Must visit with family :)
Price not so heavy on pocket.
I do recommend
If you would like standard Punjabi fare, look no further than Moti Mahal. We've been here several times. The ambiance is clean though not fancy and the staff is nice.
We ordered dal makhani, mutter paneer, garlic naan and tandoori roti and plain rice. All of it was pretty good, though nothing extraordinary.
The food is reasonably priced and quality is guaranteed so it is great value for money overall.
As always the burra, butter chicken& dal rock and for over 2 decades the quality, taste & service has been incredible. Never can get bored!! Until next time
Great location, variety of food, great for children, casual dining, great & friendly service, comfortable atmosphere. Good price, value for money..
Been dining here for 21 years now, and it feels like home. The food is unbeatable, and the experience sublime. :)They need my review to be 140 characters long, but I'm
Moti mahal has been in gk for a very long time and is consistent with the taste. Their nans are very crisp and hot and dal makhani is really nice. Their tandoori chicken tikka and reshmi kabab are a must try. The ambience obviously needs changes. Overall a great place.
Recommended.
Popular eatery in an even more popular locality. Mouth watering food, reasonable service. Pricing on the expensive side but it's the location. The Keema Kulcha was quite delicious. Tandoori starters decent. Overall a nice place but better options available around.
Moti mahal is an awesome family restaurant. The ambience of the place is calm and pleasant. The food is delicious. We ordered kadhai paneer, dal makhni, baingan bharta, fresh lime soda mix, papad, tandoori roti, paneer kulcha and onion kulcha. Paneer was delectable. Dal makhni was yum. Bharta was also tasty but a bit oily. Fresh lime soda was okay. Kulchas were soft and had generous fillings. Rotis and papad were warm and crispy. Service was too fast. Staff was very friendly.

I love this restaurant. Authentic, unpretentious, traditional Indian food. Been there many times. Always good. Palak paneer, paneer tikka, dal makhni are always just delicious. Great naans and roti.
One of my favourite place! Food is amazing and staff is also nice. Ambience is good. Best place to have North Indian food! Mattar paneer is my all time favourite dish.
As you enter, you find a perfect blend of old style restaurant/ staff with a great food fragrance. This place has not changed in years and the taste is still the authentic Moti mahal butter chicken.
The not so rich but still good taste for people who dont prefer super creamy butter chicken and the combo with garlic nan is good. Nan was extra crisp - incase you prefer crispy breads , you should definitely try this.
So i have been visiting this place since my childhood.
The taste of butter chicken still remains the same and its the best butter chicken one can have .
I have been coming here since ages and can never get enough of it.
The stewards are warm and welcoming.
The service here is quick, I was served my first starter within five minutes after I placed my order.
Hence, it's undoubtedly my favourite fine dining Mughal restaurant.
We had ordered mutton burra, chicken pakora and fish tikka for appetisers and tawa chicken and naans for the main course. (something out of the mainstream butter chicken and dal Makhani)
The starters were just too good and satiating, we already felt bloated by them.
Mutton burra had a smoky flavour to it, making it all the more delicious.
Chicken pakora is my forever favourite and I order it each time I visit and never have I ever been disappointed.
Fish tikka was so tender, just melting in the mouth.
Alas, my day was indeed made!
Had malai kofta, paneer kurchan and naans!
Naans were okay. Malai kofta was quite sweeter than usual.. Paneer kurchan was fine to try.
Pretty fine ambience.
Good staff and services.
A 5 rating for their portion sizes, they are huge. Two dishes for 3/4 people and you are sorted. The charm of their service, done the old way, guys in faded shirts. The food is a solace when you need it. I don't experiment much and hence stick to the usual suspects, Daal Makhani, Butter Chicken, Naan. Khao aur khush raho!
The iconic moti mahal for its butter chicken. Went there expectinv amazing food and wasnt disappointed atleast on the butter chicken. Thick gravy, sweet and sour could have used a little bit of spice though.
Chicken pakoras were amazing. Crunchy on the outsidr and soft and tender on the inside. Beautiful!
The tandoori chicken is also great.
The place though, could use a facelift. Some renovations wont hurt!
Don't think this place calls for any introduction.
Since ages they've been serving delectable North Indian delicacies.
Never ever could I not find waiting at this place to gorge upon the finger licking food
Having being going there since years, I've obviously tried the entire menu, but below are some of my recommendations :
1. Chicken Pakora
Yes, it's absolutely crazy. Do have this in starters. The crispy outside with tender chicken makes it great to start off your meal with
2. Tandoori Chicken
For all the health conscious peeps, this does offer a great way to soothe your taste buds.
3. Paneer Tikka
For all the vegetarians out there.
4. Butter chicken
Absolutely lip smacking. The richness in the flavours of its gravy let's you not stop even after the tummy is full
5. Saag Paneer
Authentic punjabi styled saag paneer.
Do ask for the Prince Nimbu masala. Makes everything go down to stomach even faster making more place to digest the food.
My frineds and i have been eating here since as long as i can remember, i love the food and the service is always beyond wonderful. The employees are warm and welcoming, and offer a delicious variety of food. I could happily eat the butter chicken and afghani chicken every night. I have never tried a dish here I didn't like. One of my favourite places and I would recommend this place to all.
First time ordering from here. Notice they deliver so figured we would give it a try. Fast service. Food arrived hot.Now for the taste. Everything was fantastic. Had Butter Chicken, Achari Chicken and the Naan. It was so packed with flavour. I will definitely be ordering again. Thank you for a fantastic meal.
Good service. Food was delicious. A little slow to get our meal to the table....but we figured it meant the food was fresh and not back there waiting for the next customer. overall a good experience and hope to return soon
