The parathas and the curry, chutney, sbzi are delicious .The taste is amazing .The staff is good and polite. The parathas are a bit costly compared to other places. One thing I didn't like was that they don't accept online payments ,cash payment is Mandatory.Overall had a nice time here.
Awesome food there are lots of variety of parathas with awesome taste little bit expensive but on the quality wise good little bit conjunction in space overall experience good
Had been here few times, tried there aloo, mirchi, papad, nimbu, besan aloo, palak, tomato, paranthe. Decent in taste, my favorite were papad, mirchi paranthe and the tasty gajar muli achaar . Worth of visit for sure.
Can you not visit paranthewali Galli??
We decided to go for a brunch and luckily it wasn't crowded as it was a weekday. We started off by mixed paratha, which is all time favourite followed by the must have aloo paratha. If you are willing to experiment, they have mirchi, nimbu and other unusual flavoured parathas as well. The size of the parathas is such that even a person with small appetite can have 2-3.
Its budget friendly and legendary!
PS: shakkar paratha is childhood come alive! And do order dahi separately.
You cannot miss Paranthe Wali Gali in Chandni Chowk, Delhi. The aroma of ghee assaults you as you walk past this tiny lane with its hole-in-the-wall eateries. There are serpentine queues lining up to get inside.
You finally get a seat, which temporarily calms your rumbling tummy. You share your table with another couple on the other side. You exchange smiles when you realize you've both ordered the exact same parathas.
All the parathas are deep-fried and brown. They all look the same. But inside, they're as distinct as can be. The paneer paratha is average. The green chilli paratha is different and mind-numbing in a good way. The gobi paratha tastes familiar and reminds you of the ones you make at home.
But then we go one step further, and order a lemon paratha. And this blows our mind. Lemon in a paratha, who ever thought of that? But what reaches our plate, and then our mouth, is nothing short of a miraculous surprise. Move over, fresh lime soda, lemon tarts, and Lays Chile Limon. Lemon parathas are on a whole new level. They make your brain pop. Delhi never fails to surprise me every time.
Bringing a different but unique taste of parathas which are actually fried aloo bedmi poori are an absolute delight to eat! It is always great to taste the real old Delhi’s delicacies with their own unique taste!
I had rabdi paratha which was nice and an aloo paratha which was also nice!
Great things about the thali was Sitafal sabzi and a unique ‘baans’ pickle they served!
The next time u are in delhi and if u are a paratha freak then this is one place u cannot afford to miss. In the lanes of chandni chowk there is the famous paranthe wali galli. You can watch the live paranthe making session and mixing of the ingredients right there in front of you. The mixing of the sweet lassi . They have a few tables on the ground floor and a few tables on the 1st floor . I ordered the aloo paratha followed by the gobi paratha and a glass of sweet lassi. All their products are cooked in pure ghee and served with some gravy and aachar(pickle)
Damages to the pocket - Rs 170 ( US$ 2.5) every rupee spent here was worth it.
Overall rating- excellent taste. Good portions. Value for money. I would rate this place 4 on 5..
Mouth watering paratas, not for the delicate stomachs, authentic paranthe wale gali style, small place, crowded and to congested cant complain for that, must try the peas paratha and mix paratha.
The best paranthe shop in Paranthe Wali Gali. I tried the Rabri Paranta here. Trust me the taste was like Rabri from Old Famous Jalebi wala stuffed in a parantha. It was the best I have ever had. The Rabri was also heated a bit which made the parantha melt in your mouth.
Whenever you go here try the Rabri Parantha and the Cheeni parantha. I heard that they are about to tie up with Swiggy for delivery as well since I was speaking to the owner the last time I was here. A boon in disguise for all the people living nearby Old Delhi. I hope that Zomato also goes there and we wolud have two solid platforms to order food from.

If you like parathas and dont have problem with deep fry then this is the place for you. They have various varieties of parathas. Do try there mix paratha, rabri paratha. Prices are little bit high in comparison of size of the parathas. Must try for paratha lovers.
One of the better paratha wala in the paratha gali. Do try the pudina paratha - it’s very appetising. We even had the daal paratha and the tamatar one as well.. tamatar one is good.
The speciality though is the mirch ka achaar and the aloo petha subzi. Service is also good.
A trip to Chandni Chowk is incomplete without a stroll into the famous Parathe Wali Gali. A narrow street bustling with people and aroma. We decided to try parathe from this particular eatery since there was a huge crowd in front of it standing patiently waiting for their turn to get in. For street food, go where the crowd leads you. After waiting for a good half an hour (spent by having kulfis and Daulat ki chat), we got our seats. The place has nothing for ambience and has questionable hygiene. But you don't go street food strolling with that in mind. It's food and food alone. One guy was making parathe and the other was deep frying it in desi ghee. The whole process was fun to watch.
Coming to the taste, their parathas are something different since it's not your typical paratha. This one is deep fried in ghee. So you have a crispy exterior and relatively soft interior with the fillings. The sheer number of types of parathas was astonishing. We tried a bunch of parathas - Rabri, Meva, Paneer, Papad (yea, Papad!), mix veg, badam, kaju, khoya to name a few. All are served with sides of a tangy sweet banana chutney, a potato sabji, a sweet chutney etc. What stood out was the Rabri paratha, Papad paratha, Mixed paratha. Rabri paratha was like a gujiya with Rabri dripping from inside. Papad paratha had the crunch of shards of paratha in it. Mixed paratha had a complicated flavour which was nice. The flavour of ghee was in everything, but not overpowering.
Overall, do try the parathas if it are in Delhi. It's a different experience altogether. There is obviously more hype than necessary but we'll let it pass since such places always comes with hype. So yea, definitely try it if hygiene is not an issue for you.
This place is the one place where you would like to go when you are in a mood to gulp down parathas.
You have to stand in a line to get some parathas. This place is always crowded. They deep fry parthas in ghee so if you are a person who counts their calories, Chandni chowk is not your place.
You can get a variety of parathas here even the ones you can't imagine. From aloo parathas, Gobhi parathas, paneer paratha to Rabari paratha, mirchi paratha, nimbu paratha, pudhina paratha.
They serve the parathas with a variety of chuntny, sabzis and pickle. You can get more add ons like dahi .
The ones I tried were Gobhi, mixed, nimbu and pudhina. Pudhina was by far my favourite. It was tangy and spicy. Extremely delicious.
Gobhi was also yummy. It was soft on the inside and crunchy on the outside. You will really enjoy this paratha with some aloo ka sabji.
The mixed paratha was filled paneer, aloo, Gobhi and peas. It was a bit spicy.
The nimbu paratha was a mouthful. It was very tangy. The first few bites are so delicious and you can't seem to stop eating. But after some time your teeth and tongue can't bear the tartness.
I will definitely go to the place again and try out some more crazy unthinkable parathas.
You are here for paranthas and you will get all types here. Deep fried, awesome masala and perhaps some of them too creative but not that tasty. Eg khurchan / rabri parantha is taking it too far. Don’t expect any cordial behaviour but it’s Delhi so they are being polite. You can try almost all paranthas here and you will not be disappointed. Multiple tables and multiple orders but the waiters always get them right. We were 5 adults and ended up having 17 paranthas with Lassi and spent Rs. 1200 there. Every penny is worth it and if you haven’t been to this place, you are surely missing an experience!
Went here after tiring shopping with my family. It was good experience. Rabri paratha was awesome, I never thought it would be so yummy. 😛
Yummy parathe of all kinds be it traditional aloo or mooli ke parathe.
Must try aloo besan parathe, dal ke parathe
You can give it a try to Mirchi parathe!!!
Minimum 2 parathe to start with.
A good thing is that it's not too pricey
The feeling is of a crowded bazaar. Parathas that are fried right in front of you. The place has the aromas of North Indian masalas! Unkempt waiters asking for quick orders and placing a thali right on the table even before you have settled. The pricing is extreme value for money. You can have a meal at Rs.120/-
But don't expect hygiene, ambience, cordial hospitality...those are unheard concepts! Go only if you want authentic lip-smacking north Indian parathas!
Amazing is just the word to describe the paratha there. Only thing that it's fully fried. I dint like the flavors which they served along with the paratha cas they were too tangy but all the people along with me they loved it.
Like no other different outlet in so famous Parantha paradise.
Located at the start of paranthe wali gali, Pt. babu ram devi dayal offers variants of paranthas. While serving they provide a plate on which Aloo ki sabzi, chutni with banana crumbs are provided to eat with Paranthes.
We ordered,
Matar Parantha. Stuffed with lots of peas, the taste not so extravagant and simple. Tasted well with Aloo gravy.
Badam Parantha. One should definitely prefer to order this variant. crushed badam roasted and stuffed into parantha is quite alluring to grub.
Overall, like such joint is prefereble to experience whenever a Chandni chowk trail calls in.
Is it the best setting to dive into your paranthas ? No !! Were they the best paranthas ever ? Maybe not !! Who deep fries the paranthas 🙄?? But everthing aside, decades of experience and mastery of the art of cooking does ooze out when you take the first bite !! Its definitely different !! I had the "Gobi parantha" & "Besan aloo daal special parantha. Possibly not something that you would want to have everyday but its definitely something that you have to try if you have not ticked it off the list as yet.

The famous Parathe Wali Gali -
As famous the gali is , so narrow its lanes are ! Pure Congested Delhi wala Experience.
It is a very famous gali among the tv media and the masses.
But don't expect 5🌟 treatment there.
Wrap up your idea of hygiene in a bag and throw it away.
For those who are diet conscious - this is not a place for you.
Now as you are free of all above presumptions🤔 , step into the epic parathe wali gali with a sight of tourists clicking selfies here and there, you would enter this shop after waiting in a queue.
Have a look at menu with a full desi spirit - Find a lot of parathas
(((( Oh No! 😐😯 These are Deep fried LarGe SiZe Pooris With Heavy StuFFiNG in them 🤣🤣😃😄))). some with a sweet taste & some salty.
We had a tough time in getting a seat for two ( We had to wait for 20 minutes outside the shop with passers-by pushing you again & again to make their own way out. We went there on a Friday Evening & that too in a festive season 😆😉😆😂 ... A big blunder in Itself )
After all you are going to have a dining experience in a shop which exists since Pre-Independence Era. So we had to have some patience and wait for our turn.
Our order was - Aloo Paratha, Gobi Paratha, Mewa Paratha & Khurchan Paratha. Believe Me - This Much is Enough For a group of 3-4 people but since we thought of becoming an explorer we ordered 4 parathas for two 😁
Taste is average & Khurchan Paratha was a satisfying
treat among all above mentioned four types.
The taste will not make you feel in a heaven or your taste buds will not go dancing. But the busy environment, queues, narrow lanes, the rush, the little seating space of hardly 5-6 tables trying to accommodate as much people as they can, cooperation of all people present at the moment (whether they be a customer or the shop workers) , the speed of staff servicing the customers, The Delhi Wala Shorgul will definitely give a
Different lifetime wali Memories.
Can be Visited Keeping the above points in Mind, Experience it Yourself !!!
Although this place is small but they have variety of paranthas such as besan methi, Mirchi ka paratha, mix veg parantha, rabri parantha, dal aloo special parantha, etc. This outlet is most popular among the little eateries in parantha wali gali.
Location : Nearest Metro station Chandni Chowk Paranthe Wali Gali
This outlet has been the most popular among the little eateries which dot the Parathe Wali Gali. Other than the Mix Paratha, the Paneer Paratha and the ubiquitous Aloo Paratha try the more unusual Kaju Ka Paratha, Badam Ka Paratha, Pista ka Paratha, Kaju ka Paratha, Papad ka Paratha, Nimbu ka Paratha, Rabadi Paratha and Khurchan ka Paratha. you will understand why Pandit Nehru chose to dine here

Although this shop is small, but their taste remains high. They are credited to serve scrumptious Meva Paratha, Papad Paratha, Rabri Paratha, Daal Aloo Special Paratha.
The Meva Paratha and Papad Paratha are some of the most unique ones you may had until now. The Papad stuffed Paratha is crispy as it sound and so is the Meva Paratha, tastes sweet and has a rich flavor. Other few wonderful offerings are Rabri Paratha and Dal Aloo Special Paratha. The Rabri Paratha is a bit with a fluid finish, but tastes equally delicious.
The special Dal Aloo Paratha is a wonderful classic. It is much popular in Madhya Pradesh, UP and Bihar. It has a balanced flavors of Dal and Aloo. It tastes somewhat similar to Matar Paratha. Great in taste.

The hyped paranthas of this historical lane seemed normal to me now. I have been to this place a number of times but somehow they seemed to have lost their old charm. The paranthas are good though. But one can find similar paranthas all over the city. I would say they still do have a lot of varieties which is not present everywhere. The sabzi they serve tastes good!
famous shop in paranthewali gali... various type of parantha available here... we tried various parantha... but the best one is RABRI PARANTHA... everybody should try this at least once
They make deep fries paranthas...the service was fantastic, and the mirchi paranthas, mix veg paranthas and rabri paranthas are prob their best..& the prices can't be more reasonable..very cheap!!100 for 2 paranthas
For a restaurant which is historic and where my forefathers enjoyed the same food which I get is certainly nostalgic. It's a must visit for anyone in Delhi or visiting Delhi. Try varieties of Paranthas and they are all delicious. You won't get them elsewhere. All food is made in desi ghee. Don't get bothered by ambience, it's an ancient place and enjoy it as a piece of history. Hygiene is not a problem and I have never fallen sick after eating their food. Many new restaurants have tried to copy the concept and have opened up in Delhi but they can't make paranthas anywhere close to what you get here.
The Chandni Chowk experience is incomplete without a trip to Paranthe Waale Gali. Making your way through the teeming crowd is a task in itself but the aroma of food washes away all the tiredness. This is one of the first shops you will find on entering the gali. I agree that the place is quite overhyped but one must not forget that Chandni Chowk is for street food and not a gourmet experience. The essence of the area should be taken into account before dismissing it.
The service is super quick. As you try to get comfortable on the benches, the server quickly brings you a plate with the necessary accompaniments. The parathas are deep fried but are tasty nevertheless. One of the guys uses a plate for multiple purposes. He slices chillies with the sharp edge and also uses it to serve the parathas.
I visited this place with a relative of mine. We tried Bhindi, Karela, Nimbu and Mirchi Parathas. My favourite was the Mirchi Paratha. I am a spice lover and this variant was perfect for my palate. Next best was Bhindi Paratha. The novelty of the combination was quite impressive and i just loved it. Karela Paratha was not at all bitter! Again a good one. Nimbu Paratha was okayish. The Parathas were crispy on the outside and soft from within.
I would like to try their Dessert Parathas. They look really promising. Definitely making another visit here!
This is the second paranthe wali gali shop that i tried after getting bored eating at Pt. Gaya Prasad Shiv Charan paranthe wala( the oldest one). Well, gotta say..this place was hygeinacally much superior and didn't have arrogant waiters like them. I had my fav-bhindi parantha and pudina parantha. While the pudina parantha was as good as it could have been..but the bhindi parantha was pathetic..so i have kinda mixed feelings about this place at the moment. Will visit here again.
A real masterpiece paranthe. I went there with my collegue. It was my first experience in paranthe wali gali. They serve a vast variety of paranthas and its taste can never be forgotten. That we kept eating forgetting that we are getting late for work.
Really amazing experience
Poore parviar ke naam pe dukan khol li..Maybe this unites their family.
Anyways i think this place is a hidden gem in chandani chowk.
The ambience is different the place is full of photos of old Indian politicians (ok i dont know who was who but koi ni neta hi thi saare)
The price is bit on higher side but the food is worth the price.
Be it their aloo parantha or nimbu parantha all were good but really heavy.
Maybe in my subsequent visits i would try different parantha's nd wud identify different photos too.
Very tasty paranthe I order they gobi ka paranthe whith Dhee is too good very tasty paranthe seting arrangement is not so good
Good service good quality
This is one place that defies all reason. The nastiness of the street, the unpleasantness of the approach, the surliness of the waiters, the bizarreness of the rules, the questionable hygiene, none of it matters once you get your 2 parathas (2 is the minimum they serve, which is the bizarre rule earlier mentioned).
The initial reaction is to be amazed at the variety. But extensive as that is, the incredible flavor that they manage to pack into one paratha is truly amazing. Textures are perfect with a crisp covering and very soft stuffing.
Served with a set of sides, each of these is a small meal though it is very hard to stop with one.
Dessert parathas are something that sound a little odd, but are even better than their savory cousins.
An entire paratha and sides for 50 to 60 rs is great value. Especially keeping in mind that this food you just can't get anywhere else.
Overall conclusion: if you have 1 place to eat I Delhi let it be this

Superb dal parathas. Among the two that I have tried this is the better food. Although seating and hygiene are issues. Parathas are the best among all. It has a desi ghee challenge too;)
I am satisfied with the service as i went at place on a week day at an odd timing with my cousins. We ordered nearby 6 or 7 paranthas. They suggested me order unusual paranthas like of lemon which i had never herd of before and not the regular paranthas like of aloo which we eat in our daily. But the leomon parantha and the rabri parantha brcame my favourite. I would like to visit again.
My first time in New Delhi with a friend and as he was familiar with Delhi more than I could ever be... His only task was to feed me at all the awesome food places in Delhi (the foodie in me was adamant!). So, the first day he takes me to these small lanes in Old Delhi, Chandini Chowk and says we will have paranthas. He also claimed that while there, it was foolish if we did not go the most famous eateries. He took me to a place called Paranthewale Galli.
Initially, as I was walking the lanes, I saw a guy who just put stuffed parantha into a pool of oil/ Ghee (as he claims) starts frying it. I was assuming this was not the place, when my friend turns around and nudges me to enter the store! I was shocked, I said 'here?' He smiled and said 'yes! Trust me u’l like it'. Counting my previous encounters with food and him, I was sure he would not disappoint me.
While we sat inside, I read the menu and the place so many different types of paranthas to offer, most of which I had never heard of! I decided to go for their Paneer variation... this was when a second surprise came by; in this place you always had to order for two paranthas. My reaction: My god, il die... when the guy at the store said you guys can share, I let out a sigh of relief.
He served us a plate with one dry vegetable dry and an aloo subzi, soon our paranthas arrived. Meanwhile, about the place: It is not a fancy place, it is a typical gulliwala dukkan. As the place is small, 12 people and the place will be packed. The service is really quick and effective. Hygiene is not something you should not bother or rather won’t bother for your revisit, here’s why!
Going back to the food... The hot paranthas on the plate looked really yummy... As went to take the first bite, i realized how really fresh paranthas feel on your fingers, then the taste test: A bite sized piece in my mouth... Starts Melting! My eyes automatically closed and the only sound that followed was “ummmmm....” The Parantha was awesome! I just left all my worries behind; the oil, the hygiene, the crowd, the place. My focus: The Parantha!
As I gorged on my food, Vikas (My friend) told me about the history of the place… The place has the recipe passed over five generations. Truly, it has the taste, magic and charm of a rustic recipe set in the heart of old Delhi. Now it all makes sense of why Delhiwalle love their food! Because, it is awesome…
The bill came up to 120/- for the two of us!
A must try place. It leaves you wanting more, only if you had more space in your stomach.
Go there for the sounds , feel , Nostalgia and lard ridden deep fried pranthas , and now you can also visit for the Chandni Chowk To China potato chopping .
Once every 2-3 years i go there I fall in love with the place all over again and to think that you are in one of the few places you can eat history !!!!!! there are 4 shops selling paratha's all Siamese twins , with pics of all the Indian PM's and overseas leaders who visited India in the last 75 years enjoying the pranthas here . Well for a change the paranthas are deep fried and they are served with a subzi / bhaji as also raita , the seating is the most uncomfortable you ever sat on and most of your food is seasoned with the sweat of the chefs and servers .
They just start you off with a thali with all the add ons ( sabzi achar ect .) and as you keep on finishing your pratha's they keep on refilling whatever sabzi is over in your thali. On my last visit I had a nebu ( lemon ) ka paratha , a Rabri ( condensed milk ) ka paatha , a mutter ( peas ) ka parantha and a Mirchi ( Green Chilly ) ka parantha , and this was just a very small selection of there varied menu , all of them quite nice with the mutter being the best , The prices are somewhat on the higher side for an esteblishment like this but guess they are also charging for the history .
So much to complain about , but i still go there......
