The restaurant is very nice and the oldest one in the area. The south indian food is just very amazing.
The Chinese are okay but not bad.
A family restaurant.
I've been visiting this place since childhood and i like their food very much. But I suggest you not to drive to that place as there is a problem of parking as this restaurant is in the middle of the market of Mayur Vihar-1 and this is more of a decent family restaurant. Every dish under south Indian cuisine is best they have. ❤️ and these days they are also maintaining full hygiene which is very important.
I ordered this vegetables noodles from this place noodles was so good in taste...
Really fresh and flavorsome south indian food is served...
The ambience is decent enough...the decorations are elegant...!!
The service is really prompt and the scrumptious food makes everything worth a try...👍
Masala Dosa of this place is good to have. Worth of its price. Tastes good. Dosa, sambhar, chutney all are good in taste. Good food quality. Good packaging also.
I went here with my friends last month.
We ordered 2 masala dosa and a cold drink.
Masala dosa was pure bliss . It was crispy juicy and tasty.
The ingredients were proper and proper spices were added too. They gave us sambar and chutney which was yummy. Hope to come here soon
Dahi vada us highly recommend
If you are visiting this restaurant MiNi Tiffin is a must try, you will get 1 Masala Dosa,1 Onion Uttapam, 1 Super Crispy Vada, 1 Super Soft Idly, 1 Portion of Upma, 1 Portion of Rasam, Unlimited Supply of Sambar, Coconut Chutney, Tomato Chutney.. All taste Fab.. The only bad part is, if you are having this alone by yourself, you end up eating too much. However it's super value for money. All this is priced @ Rs.200/- Only...
A relatively old fair on the streets of Mayur Vihar known for its South Indian flavours. Butter Masala Dosa is a must have here. And filter coffee is just too good!
i ordered upma & dosa, it came very well packed and the taste was up to the mark just perfect
only one thing that the tomato chutney was stale, since i dont eat it so doesnt matter to me but resturant sould chk all the stuff before packing. if u love south indian this is one place you shouldn't miss
Vry delicious.. well packed dosa n veg noodles...would like to order again.
Amazing place to have south indian cuisine. Has been constant since childhood. Always stood up to the expectations. Best among all south indian joints in the vicinity.
Recently ordered from this place. Absolutely loved the sambhar. It had the right amount of spices. Totally lip smacking!
Very soft idlis too. And the uthappam was also very tasty and quite filling. Had a wonderful experience. Very satisfying!
There onion utthapam and dahi vada is amazing
And also the coffee.
Service is good
But need to improve a log on the ambience part.
Rest they have variety.
This place is very near to where I live and serves delicious south indian food. Though I haven't had food in the restaurant I've ordered for delivery many times, which is prompt and on time.
My go to for breakfats/brunch is Mini Tiffin, which comes with Idli, Vada, Utthapam, Kesari Bhat, Dosa, Sambhar, Rassam and chutney. Quantity is more than enough for one person and every single item tastes good.
My fav would be Neelgiri Special Dosa, which is quite huge filled with paneer and veggies, and served with Sambhar and chutneys. It's quite scrumptious. Though it is avialble only on weekends as per menu.
Overall very good experience.

This casual place is good option for a good meal. I got masala dosa was huge as usual and the sambhar, coconut chutney and other chutney was so good and flavoured. Quick service and nice staff.
Really loved the place visited with with my friend really good food and my friend from home from his home best best South Indian u can get in breakfast at Mayur Vihar,Must give a try.
Been eating here since the 90's and now mostly just order in that's cause I'm lazy. Really good South Indian food. Love the dosa's and idli, sambar is authentic, also have the besimela bath and tamarind rice!! Overall I love the South Indian food here and would highly recommend it.
Good south Indian food, but the rates are now little on the higher side. The ACs donot work effectively. The Service is good. Quality of North Indian food can be improved. To be competitive the rates should be reduced. More options should be there in North Indian Menu.
This is the place if you are looking for great south indian food
Every option is great however I liked the rava onion maysoor masala dosa
And its povket friendly as well.
Having food here is always a treat. Cleanliness and clam staff and having swift service make this place more desirable to pay next visit. Vada and Masala dosa are pure bliss.
They having amazing taste in indian style.. mainly they serve North Indian, South Indian and Chinese but sometimes in some south Indian restaurant's they serve good only in south indian except of anyother cuisine.. but here I am a fan of Dal Makhni and Pulao... the only problem is of parking.
Neel Giri's is a heaven for south Indian lovers .
It has a good taste and authentic flavours.
One must try masala dosa and onion tomato utpam.
Neel Giri restaurant is located in Achatya Niketan market, mayur vihar phase -1.
Neel Giri was famous for south indian food but now it offers a wide range of North indian, Chinese etc.
You can have variety of food here.
I ordered one rava Masala dosa with a hot cup of filter coffee.
Rava Masala dosa was a little less crispy but filter coffee was Awesome.
Rates are also ok
After an early morning temple visit, my husband and I had grumbling stomachs to cater to. Being hard core South Indians, we decided to go for our typical Dosa and Vada. A friend suggested this place and I am so glad we went by his advice.
We ordered a ghee roast plain dosa and a ghee roast masala dosa along with a plate of Vada. The dosa was crispy and super yummy. You know how usually the quantity of masala in a masala dosa is so much that you almost always have to waste a bit of it? Well this place offered just the right amount to enjoy the dosa and yet not feel the burden of too much potato! The Vada, however, was the highlight for us. It was extremely crispy and tasted extremely well with the chutney! We finished our meal with a cup of chai and instant coffee. Don't know about the chai, but I could have that coffee at any time of the day!
All in all, an excellent haven for those who are craving a tasty and authentic plate of South Indian breakfast.
It's an authentic South India restaurant in Mayur Vihar Phase-I . They serve some really good south indian food as well as North Indian too. I went here with my family for dinner and We ordered :-
1) South Indian Thali -5/5
2) North Indian Thali - 4/5
3) Medu Vada - 4/5
Ambience - 3.5/5
Service - 5/5
Recently visited this place, may be after 1 yr. Their quality had dipped previously which is why we stopped going. It has improved again. We tasted idli, vada, paneer dosa and onion uttapam. All were good. We also ordered Filter Coffee which was very good. The owner was himself moving around looking after customers.
True at its heart is Neel Giri...
It has been very long that Neel Giri is still a go-to- option for famous South Indian in Mayur Vihar Phase 1.
It is not only economical but it is good in taste as well.
South Indian Thali, Masala Dosa and North Indian Thali is something one should never miss if Neel Giri.
It is full good quantity in size.
Sometimes on weekends one can expect a long queue as well here.
My all time favourite south Indian restaurant , have been eating here for past 25 years. Masala dosa, onion uttapam and sambar vada are my favourite dishes. Something for everyone here, even the north indians :)
One of the oldest south indian cuisine. Haven't changed since its inception and quality remains the most authentic feature of Neel giri's.
Reasonable for bucks! Their Mysore rava masala dosa is the top notch dish for all dosa lovers.
Last time I visited mayur vihar was around 1 year ago but when my friends forced me to eat in Niel giri it was best advice given by my friend.
This is a very good outlet specially for vegetarians in Mayur Vihar. Thier thalis are huge. The south indian food is served at its best here. Also chinese such as noodles are also available
It is one of the old restaurants in Mayur Vihar Phase-I and they are keeping up their quality with the food and services. I really loved their dosas, well it’s also a reasonable place and a nice for family.
• Price- 4*/5
• Food- 4*/5
• Service- 4*/5
• Quantity- 4/5
Good Chinese and South Indian food ......fresh food ......best South Indian food for spending some quality time with your family ...not too high prices
The best hotel for south Indians.. You must taste this food...The way they packed the food was also perfect.. Very good quality of food and keep doing like this. .
Delicious masala dosa I loved it with its tasty Red chatni. Delivery was before time. I should recommend this Restaurant to the nearby people. Properly wrapped and the Delivered properly.
This south indian restaurant is really good for dinners and lunch with family. It has a calm atmosphere inside and mostly families. Good for casual dine in in peace. Food is also good in taste and quantity
This south Indian restaurant is one of the best in Mayur Vihar. The prices are reasonable and friendly to pocket. A good atmosphere for your family outings. The food is good and tasty
For those that came to live in mayur vihar in the eighties and early nineties like we did, Neelgiris is almost an institution primarily since then, this was about the only eating point of some standing in the are dishing out Idli, Dosa and Vada combos to hungry crowds that trooped in.
Despite the opening of quite a few outlets in the area including a Sagar Ratna right next door this continues to hold its own .
The rasam as a starter is still just right in terms of spiciness and does not like some other places sting as it is drunk. The dosa /vada/idli/upma that you may order after the rasam papad bear the reputation in good stead. They are not exquisite but certainly adequate in terms of quality and quantity both. A meal for two could be just a plate each pf vada and idli and a single dosa followed by kesari halwa.
What takes the cake is the range of ice cream combos that they have. We chose one called gadabad which consisted of three scoops of ice creams of different flavors mixed with real fruit, jelly and some pineapple syrup poured into the combination. The total effect was so good that we dumped our diets there and then to grab one more of those. We were told that these combos were typically available in Mangalore and probably nowhere else in Delhi.Go there for the ice creams if not for anything else.
A feature that has remained unchanged since the eighties is that the owner is always present in the outlet and not just sitting behind the counter ( for that matter NEVER sitting behind the counter) but circulating amongst the diners greeting the old hands and smiling at anyone who cares to look up at him .It is a great personal touch totally missing in today’s franchisee models where the politeness is so very impersonal that it freezes rather than warms one as it should.
A bit noisy at times, Neelgiris is well worth a visit.
Neel Giri is one of the best south Indian restaurant in East Delhi!
sweet corn soup was bad in taste. chilly paneer and garlic naan was good as usual.
fresh, hot and delicious food. on tym delievery. delievery agent was very polite.
very nice south indian restaurant
nice on time delivery and amazing taste of food
Authentic South Indian food , loved the way they have touched North Indian sytle. South Indian mini tiffin is my best order till date .gentle and polite staff.
Must try is there authentic pan after food and chaas.
I feel going this place it takes me into my childhood when I used to visit with my parents in olden style restraunts.
gud taste, worth of money, provided more than expected
food is always delicious whenever I order
overall quality of the food was good but there was an issue with shahi paneer the taste of shahi paneer was not good . so my advice is dont add tomato ketchup while cooking shahi paneer
nice food....but plzz papad is not so well...
timely delivered... quality with quantity
fast delivery service... very happy wll suggest others too. 5*
Good place to come with your family. Masala dosa is very tasty. Dahi wada is also very yummy. Very nice place. It's very old restaurant in mayur vihar. Really awesome.
Tastes good but sambar quantity was less
yummy food always.. dal tadka was very yummy
Quite a nice restaurant for all the South Indian traditional food lovers. Ambience is just average but the food quality is good without any fusion/cheese added. Service was quick!
South Indian restaurant serving great food. Enough seating space, staff is courteous and service is quick. Only thing is that I found the prices to be a little high for the area it is situated in. Prices are at par with similar restaurants (Bengali, Haldiram’s) in much better areas like CP.
Little bit old fashioned but serving best south indian dishes in East delhi.
North indian dishes are not so good. Service is little bit slow but overall nice hotel.
Good and tasty food. South Indian dishes are very nice to have. All food is properly and simple to eat. Very nice place for pure vegetarians to eat.
Cons - service is a bit slow. But it could be because they cook it properly.
Amazing Dosa and upma. A must try is Butter rawa masala dosa.
Been there. South Indian food is good, rates are reasonable but the service is poor, means they take too long time to serve the order. They serve North Indian also. Ambience is ok. Overall good place in neighbourhood for family outing.
Authentic South Indian Taste in Mayur Vihar ( .. kind of Best taste in this Area!!) It's quite an old restaurant; and I hav been visiting this restaurant for good 14-15+ yrs now. And the decor still give you the feeling of that era !! It's Nostalgia.. The staff is very prompt as it was many years ago. The food quality and taste gets 10/10. Only they have reduced the sizes/ portion a little bit :( ..which they should not have) ; although they have increased the prices as per the time and inflation. Toilet facility - like formality only (they must improve). Overall a cool, old, Reputated joint to visit in the residential colony area !
Update 17th feb 2023 - THIS PLACE IS PERMANENTLY CLOSED ☹️☹️☹️. NOW SAGAR RATNA operates from this premises.
Best and very very authentic South Indian food, beats every other so famous South Indian restaurants of Delhi in taste. All South Indian items on menu have very authentic taste.
Good South Indian Vegetarian restaurant at Mayur Vihar Phase1. Good courteous staff and very spacious place. waiting time is average. 1st floor of building makes little discomfort for elderly people. must taste coffee. moderate expensive.
This is one place in East Delhi, where you will get good south indian food at a very reasonable rate. The restaurant is very spacious and staff is courteous. There were times when I first moved to Delhi, you would find me at this place every 2nd or 3rd day. The potions are always of good quantity and is served with a smile
This restaurant is nearby my parental house and I have been visiting it since 2008 I guess. The food menu has wide variety of choice and to be honest it is very economical too. Their prices are way too affordable for an average man to party even with 20 people. Also, their food quality is super good. You will never regret eating sambhar wada, rasam rice, idli sambhar and fried rice there. Please try it once and enjoy the food delicacies.
Have been going there for past more than 30 years. They need to change their interior ASAP. Nothing can beat it's nariyal chutney. It started with all south indian restaurant and was probably the only one during the time it was launched. It seriously needs interior upgrade and management needs to cautious of people's need. Too much frequent staff chages costing this restaurant its customers. Like recently the glass of water was unwashed and when it was given to us it had lipstick stains on it. Yuck.
Overall South Indian and north india cuisine is well served and taste good too.
Good if you are looking for low cost South Indian food with proper seating arrangement. Do not expect too much from aesthetic sense, but ya food is worthy. Little rushy at weekend evenings.
Love it food yummy
Gadbad ice cream special
