We are having Minar food for decades now. Standard ordering for dine in and take away is Dal Makhni any day the best in town Chicken Pakoda with bone is to die for and ofcourse butter chicken, mutton sheekh and for Vegetarians Palak Paneer

I have been going to this and ordering from this place since childhood ... I love the Brain masala and the mutton curry ... Im not a big fan of the vegetation stuff the place offers...
It's a nice restaurant to eat out with your family and relatives ... The ambience of the place are just about fine like any other nice restaurant would have .... The staff is also very experienced .... The location is good central for anybody to visit in Delhi ... It would not be unfair to say that it's a little overpriced ....

"Ji yeh half hain?" was my first question on seeing the large bowl.. "Haan ji Sir, yeh half plate Butter Chicken hain" replied the server modestly... All those folks who boast of themselves as being Butter Chicken Connoisseurs back in Mumbai should definitely try this version at the New Minar Restaurant located at the heart of Greater Kailash 1 market in New Delhi. The place has been around for about 42 years now and serves the 'most delicious Butter Chicken in town'. Loaded with butter, spices, tomatoes and more butter(no modesty shown there), every bite of this delectable, velvety makhani gravy makes you drool for more and is best enjoyed with a naan or a kulcha.. The quantity is so generous that even a 'lover of everything makhani' like me couldn't finish (ofcourse I tried my best) the half plate of this butter extravaganza ("it's usually shared by 2-3 people" said the restaurant manager on my way out). I finished with a glass of chilled Jal-jeera to avoid myself from slipping into a 'Butter Coma'... So when in Delhi and you feel like having Butter Chicken, look no further.. This is THE PLACE folks!! Absolutely recommended!!

Only butter chicken... for a place that delivers a fabulous butter chicken, most of the other food is just ok... but we keep ordering in the butter chicken. At our house if it’s butter chicken, it’s New Minar!!
Dal Makhni and Paneer makhni are outstanding.. Amazing food quality.. Highly recommend this place. A little expensive but doesn't matter if the taste is amazing.
The food was amazing and the service was extremely prompt. Even though the seating is a little congested, the hospitality and the taste of the food absolutely makes up for it.
The BEST Makahani Dal I've had at any restaurant, perfect flavours . The Garlic Chicken Tikka is a great starter. Good service and friendly staff.
I had the chicken malai tikka and the chicken barra from here. The Malai Tikka was okayish, a bit bland to be honest. The barra was too good though! Loved the char on it and the marination was damn good too.
Located in Greater Kailash m block market it’s a nice Mughals cuisine restaurant which has been serving amazing taste since years . Their chicken tikkas are to die for and so is butter chicken. For vegans Dal Makhani is a must try it’s much better than Dal Bukhara
There is a limitation of available indian options if u visit m block market. One is moti mahal and other is the Minar. There were six of us for a late and light lunch. We ordered for dal and paneer with breads and found food to be of great taste and value for money.
We felt that there is a lack of available dining options and the Minar lived upto expectations. Recommended for a quick, reasonable and tasty family lunch.
We keep going back for your Sukhi Dal Mutton Burra and Rotis : with that old world charm of sirkewale pyaaz the sliced pyaaz with chat masala and the shalgam gobhi gajar pickle ; in summer your mutton pulao is a delight
Food is really good.I ordered FRESH LIME SODA,TANDOORI MUSHROOM, MALAI KOFTA,PINEAPPLE RAITA and NAAN.Fresh lime soda was just like a home made shikanji with soda and tasted very good.Tandoori mushroom were not that good.Kofta was delicious and very different from other places and a must try if you are bored with that sweetish recipe and the Naan was super amazing .I have not eaten such a yummy naan in so many years , it was wow.Pineapple raita was good too.
The staff was also very courteous.Its an old restaurants that dates back to 70s or something so the interiors and ambience feels vintage but its hygienic and the good is great.
Must try their Boneless butter chicken with butter naan. They serve Best Butter Chicken in south Delhi. Only thing they lack is an ambience.
Frequently visit this place from years to enjoy excellent north Indian food. I have tried many restaurants in south and central Delhi, food @ New Minar is delectable, excellent service. Rate this place for food 7 star.

The food is loaded with pure desi Ghee, you realize it as soon as you take the first bite.
The masala onions served here are something you would not stop yourself hogging on, unless you are some one who is completely intolerant to spicy food, they serve one of the best masala onions that I know.
Often I find restaurants that serve good food but fall short on the breads, but this definitely serves great Parathas and Naans as well.

The dal makhani was outstanding. The packaging was so well done and was so easy to pack. Paneer was a great try for sure. Garlic nan was okay but could have been better
I had the garlic chicken tikka from this place. It tasted quite delicious. The char was properly done and the marination was good too. Really enjoyed.
One of the old feel restaurants, all time favourite for many of us in our childhood memories. The restaurant ambience took us to old times including the waiters ☺️. Once at minar you definitely have to order butter chicken, along with butter chicken we ordered Daal makhani and malai kofta. Everything tasted amazing. I have to mention the chilli rotis on their menu were the best roti I have ever eaten at a restaurant. Superb experience!
Clean gardens and well maintained. We had lunch here a few times while on the island visiting family and friends. The servers here are just wonderful and have great memories it seems. Everything about this place is nice. Great service, good food, nice wine menu, and all at a reasonable price.

It offers high quality food. The complimentary onions and green chutney served at the beginning is just delicious and is really famous here, people especially come at this place for their masala onions and chutney. 😍😍👌👌
Staff is very experienced. Service is also prompt. Lighting is really dim here. Ambience is not so happening.
Palak paneer is a must try. Dal makhni is also upto the mark. The kulchas are very well baked. Naan is also very well prepared. All the food items are well prepared and presented. Quantity is also good. So if you are planning for a north Indian meal MINAR is the right choice.👍👍👅👅

The established taste of the Mughlai food of Minar is perfect always. The tender pieces of chicken in the Boneless Butter Chicken along with the delightful Chicken Curry which had wholesome pieces are to die for. The combination of assorted breads including Pudina Naan,Garlic Naan and Lachcha parantha add to the taste.
So when you are ordering in Mughlai around GK, Minar is your best bet.

New Minar isn’t really new for me - I’ve grown up eating minar food since 35 years and each experience is better than the previous one.
The interiors of the restaurant are nothing to talk about - simple and suitable for a family restaurant.
The Food does all the talking. The Ma ki Dal is one of the most delicious and flavourful dals ever. Other dishes which are also definitely worth trying are Chana masala, Burra kebab and malai kofta. The lacha paratha and pudhina paratha are also well made and add to the taste.
I would definitely recommend it for anyone wanting to eat authentic delicious mughlai food.

Quality withstanding the test of time. I would recommend you to have their dal makhni, chicken burrah and in curries their chicken tikka masala. They are serving some of the best breads in Delhi, I am a big fan of their naan it seems very authentic. I would just like to say that your butter chicken has a lot of room for improvement in flavours.
The Barra chicken, from here is something which I absolutely love. You just can't not try it. I promise you, once you try it, it will be one of your favourites. Two other good dishes, are the butter chicken and the daal makhani.

The Place has indoor sitting on Ground and First Floor both which is big enough for a huge gathering also. The interior resembles like a pure family restaurant and it is quite good for a date or small gathering.

The mixture of spices and the taste of panner was perfect for a making my stomach crave for it. The thickness of Gravy and color was on point.

The chicken was juicy and tender and cooked to perfection.The restaurant atmosphere is very relaxing. The staff was attentive and the pricing isn't too high as well.
Always good and consistent. Butter chicken and mutton Barra are amazing. So is reshmi tikka..same taste since the 1970s! If you have a sensitive stomach, avoid the gravies and indulge in dry tandooori !
They can never go wrong with their butter chicken.. it tastes the same every time n it is awesome. Also try the dry Daal and keema naan. One of those places which concentrates on food n not the fancies.
We came here for dinner after being recommended by a friend. The place didn't disappoint, service was quick and friendly. We had a wide variety of dishes, all were very good. The most popular item were chicken seekh kebab and Butter Chicken. The service was fine too.
This place is good and exactly what we wanted. The food was not oily at all and we got the chicken Tikka, chilly paneer and Chicken curry. Everything was super fresh and the Aloo Parantha was good too.
Will definitely be back to try more options.

Amongst the best Mughlai food restaurants in Delhi. The rating does not do justice to the quality of food. A must try place for all those who love classic indian food. For those who don't know Minar is one of the original homes for Butter Chicken and even today enjoy's a very unique flavour. Must try Chicken Barra, Butter Chicken Boneless, Chicken Curry, Dal Makhani and Mutter Mushroom.
Butter Chicken and Butter Naan. The quantity of butter chicken (full) is very good and it is delicious. The place has two floors of seating area which is comfortable.
It is a little expensive though.
One of the old contemporary restaurants. Been going there for more than 18 years. Recently it has a drop not because of drop in food quality or service but probably it's not renewed it's alcohol licence and doe not server any more.
Till date I have found this restaurant having consistent taste over the years.

The full butter chicken portion size was very good and the taste was the authentic mughlai style butter chicken which I had been craving for .

After a busy working day I decided to have dinner at nearby area. I was staying my company guest house 🏡 so I thought of this restaurant is good option. I was there last year once. So I thought I could give second try. This restaurant has seating in single lanes spread out in two floors . It has a food elevator for transferring food from first floor kitchen.The interiors were good and comfortable seating. Being dinner time I wanted to be light on my stomach, so I have ordered a Mix vegetable dish along with Missi roti. Both Missi roti and Mix vegetable curry preparations are good. The side accompaniments like vinegar soaked onions, mint chutney and onion rings made my dinner quite filling. The staff are well mannered and courteous and the overall feeling is good and don't mind visiting again with my colleagues

Apart from that there is nothing great about this place. Stinking hand towels, regular ambience.

New Minar is a restaurant tucked away in the glam and glitter of M Block Market GK 1, but the Dal Makhani served here is out of the world. With a tradition of simmering the dal with butter for 24 hours, this place serves one of the best Dal Makhanis in Delhi. Packing the Dal Makhani and having it the next day makes it tastes even better. Dont give it a miss.

But i had the best food in a long time and the taste is very impressive.
They have the best Dal makhni i have tasted by far. Even the butter chicken and paneer in white gravy were damn good. p.s. this is a prices are reasonable.

Recently visited the place again after a very long time. The place looks run down now but has that nostalgic feel. In the past i have visited the place many time with friends/family for their butter chicken.
I prefer sitting on the first floor, its gives more family feel. The butter chicken you get here tastes like it is actually made in butter. It is way different than the tomato gravy based sweet butter chicken we get everywhere else in Delhi. The butter chicken will taste a little salty initially but then you will actually love the flavour. It goes perfect with the tandoori rotis and green chillies. The fish tikka and barra kebab are also good. Didn't like the seekh kebab much though. The fish is juicy and soft from inside and crunchy from outside. The barra kebabs are spicy and tender.
MINAR an awesome place to go for those who have good diet .There are many things to eat .Here starters and main course are just yummy n delicious .ONE MORE FOR NON VEG IT IS HEAVEN ??????.I was there with my family before 1month and ordered for CHICKEN CURRY,MUTTON KORMA, and BUTTER NAAN, for me the chicken curry was out of the world just amazing, I never had this kind of delicious curry. Customer service is very good and decor is also nice.nice place to go n enjoy.
Awarded the best butter chicken 2015 in town. But minar i can vouch on you every single year. You're unrivalled and deservingly on top of the heap.

Minar has been around for several years now and it has really lived up to its awards by maintaining their flavours and hygiene.

Excellent food , vibrant atmosphere , hospitable staff , tomato paneer and dal makhni is brilliant and very reasonable priced.
I have been having chicken curry from this place from a long time now - ordered one tonight as well and I must say the taste has always been great. Chicken curry is one of their signature dishes and I would say it a must try. Some people might say that the oil is on a higher side but I guess that is what adds to the flavour.
Been here few times and the food has been pretty consistent. The kadhai chicken is pretty good and the butter chicken is worth recommending as well. The garlic naan pairs well with the dishes. Overall a decent stop for North Indian cuisines.
There's something to be said about legacy. I have been coming to and ordering from this restaurant for decades and it has never, ever let me down. Traditional, unfussy, polite. And yes, one of the best butter chicken dishes I have ever had anywhere :-)
Honestly, the food wasn't great. The chicken was a bit over-cooked and the mutton korma weren't even hot. I liked the paneer makhani though and the service was great. The staffs there are really friendly. I probably will give them a second chance and order a different dish.

Food was good, especially keema paratha. Nothing special for the other dishes. Mutton pieces were tender & big for one to chew on especially the chaap. This shows for the quality of food & thought especially in choosing mutton pieces.
Could see couple of families late in the night gossiping & n'joying food which gives a sense of regular customer base.
Definitely a must visit when you in this part of Delhi to n'joy good mutton pieces in a cosy ambience.

Everything about this place was great: attentive servers (my water glass was always full), excellent food and great prices. The naan is soft and warm, the butter chicken and chicken seekh kebab were fantastic.

As far as the food concern It's an average,not bad but, not so exceptional as well !!
As far as the service concern they really look into this as,the lack of professionalism !!!

GK Market is known for lot of food options. We decided to have a lunch at Minar after a hectic schedule of OKHLA. Decently located at the corner with two floors. Regular ambience and it was almost empty on Monday lunch. Ordered Butter Chicken, Karahi paneer, Dal and lots of other stuff. Good food served with minimal makeup. Services were not up to the mark but the old age restaurant do have the bottleneck. Hygiene was upto the mark. Good time, will definitely visit again.

It is an authentic mughlai restaurant and if you are a big foody then this is the place to be. Their Makhani Dal and Paneer Lababdaar are the best in India according to me. Yes right - 'Best in India !' It is the right tag to give these dishes. Both are differently prepared unlike any other restaurants you must have been to.
I have been going to this restaurant since I was 5 years old and I must say their food is amazing. You should be very hungry when you go there because the food is very heavy and buttery.
Always choose Tandoori roti instead of naan. You will be surprised to see something as simple as tandoori roti is so nice and tasty here.

Butter Chicken is Second to None.
Garlic Prantha was well cooked.
On zomato menu listed price of Full Butter Chicken is 995 but it's 1095. Although it doesn't matter when U get authentic Fresh and delicious Food.
One negative point - my waiter used his hands to pack the left over Garlic Naan which I did not appreciate. Upon asking him why he did so he didn't comment, looked down and left (usual protocol of restaurant workers). No apologies either.
I had seen waiters wearing gloves and masks when I entered the place. The masks were always ON but the gloves came off.
I request the owners to make sure the waiters don't play clever.
Favurite place for Mutton Burah. Their butter chicken and dal makhani is awesome. Love the Naan. ❤️

Have been a fan of this restaurant for more than 2 decades . Their DAL makhni is the BEST in the world !!! It’s not even close to what many good restaurants serve . It’s magical and unique. Their kebabs and all tandoori items are delicious well cooked and roasted. All the menu items are scrumptious and they have been able to maintain the quality all these years . The ambiance is basic and 80’s style but in case u are looking out for authentic delicious and fingerpicking mughlai foods ! It’s the place!!!

New minar is your old school Gymkhana club type restraunt in terms of its ambience and feel. The food is always exceptional. Well worth the price which may have you wondering why so much for Indian food.
I have had a half butter chicken there that 4 people struggled to finish. Even though we really wanted to. You can taste the butter, it's absolute soul food. Their daal makhani is equally amazing. Their malai chaap is a true ideal of what a malai chaap could be.
Their naans and rotis are exceptional. Soft and flavorful. Their butter naans come with sesame and kalaunji, which really imbues a tantalizing fragrance.
The portions are generous and the flavours are lively and hearty.
I've been eating here for close to 6 years now. I've never been disappointed. Every time my family visits from abroad i bring them here for a meal.

Authentic mughlai food. Every item that ordered was pretty good. The food has a rich taste and quality. The interior of the restaurant gives an old feeling but the food tastes like old times without any forced taste. All in all I'm case you want to have authentic mughlai, it's a great place!
One of my frequently visited places for Mughlai food for over 30 years. Excellent quality, taste and customer service. You will get addicted too. Their Naans, Butter chicken, Brain curry, Daal Makhani and Barras are my favorites. I travel from Gurgaon everytime I feel like having these.
Never fails to impress. The best Punjabi Indian food this side of town. The काली dal is to die for. The Garlic chicken tikka is awesome 👌 👌. Even the vegetarian food is great. Even though this place doesn't have a Bar, it really doesn't matter. A definite visit 👌👌👍👍
