I'm surprised about the negative tying of this place. Personally I liked it very much - mostly the thali. It was my first time trying Assam Cousine and for me it passed the test. Good location in Dilli Hast, nice bamboo plates.

In this scorching heat , we went to this stall and the food was good , the chicken dim sums were very juicy and flavourful . We also ordered choupsey even though it did not appeal to my palette , but was sweet and nice . Garlic noodles were also very spicy , really liked it .

Open seating is like heaven in winters when the sun shines bright. So on one such day, we went to Dilli Haat for lunch in the sun. Assamese fare at Delhi Haat was what we settled for. Ambience was good, as always. Food was delicious, service was prompt. All in all, a good experience. The only drawback being, it was rather too expensive for the food served. Jakoi in Assam Bhawan serves much better dishes, with larger portions and more items at similar rates, and it is a proper restaurant. The portion size here was also too small for the price charged.

Ordered chicken and veg. momos....both the momos were superb..both of them came with a clear broth soup and sweet vinegar picked vegetables.. veg. momos came with a vegetable stock soup and chicken momos came with a chicken flavoured broth that was really soothing .. chili sauce was a bit too spicy but goes really well momos and the soup.. the quality of the momos was really fresh and the service was also really fast ..i do recommend momos and specially the soup..

The food tasted not that bad nor that yummy so I give it a 3.5. However, I liked the fish thali and fruit beer out of all the dishes we tried over the last few months here.

We had an Assamese Pork thali which includes, pork curry, rice, boiled veg, dal and aloo pitika. The food was delectable and although the stall has more non assamese food than authentic assam, it still delivered an authentic taste to the thali. The portion size you receive is good. Poonam Dimri

Chicken pakode with Thai sauce at Delhi haat is an unusual combination but absolutely delicious. The sauce is definitely the star of the dish. It tastes sweet at first then spicy later on. A must try.!!

Being an assamese myself, this place was one of the most frequently visited places after i first moved to delhi :) The food served here reminded me of home. Especially the bamboo shoot and fish tenga and chicken curry. The service was quite prompt and the prices are affordable too.

Dilli Haat is a good place to go to when you have a circle of friends from different parts of the country who want to eat their local dishes on the same table. The different regional food stalls here are a testimony to the diversity throughout our nation.

Being an Assamese, I just had to try out the food at the Assam Food Stall. After so many years away from home, the sight of a menu with Assamese food items is always a delight. But unfortunately, a lot of stuffs on the menu were ones belonging to a Chinese fast food outlet menu. For heaven's sake, chow-mien is NOT Assamese food!

I ordered a Chicken Thali, a plate of Chicken Momos.and Fruit Beer.

The waiter and the chef were really courteous, and the waiting time is around 15-20 minutes.

The Chicken Thali came with Rice, Dal, Chicken Curry and Aloo Pitika (Boiled potatoes mashed with mustard oil, onions, salt and chilli). The Thali was served in a large copper dish in true Assamese fashion. The Thali was really great, except that the Chicken Curry was given a "punjabi" touch which was a letdown. The masala used wasn't really something that reminded me of home. The Potato Mash though made up for it. Really great tasting and fulfilling!
The Chicken Momos were quite average to be honest. The filling wasn't the best and I'm sure it could have been prepared in a much better way.
The Fruit Beer quenches your thirst on a hot Delhi afternoon.

The overall food wasn't the best Assamese food you would eat, but then it's pretty close. Good for the ones missing the usual fares from back home.

There was a time when me and my friends used to visit Dilli Haat quite often and being an Assamese,Assam Food Stall was our first choice. Their menu though an extensive one, has chinese food more than Assamese food. The food is not exceptionally good but then it will definitely satisfy you. The portions are quite good and its total value for money. They serve good momo, fruit beer and a few chinese items.

Visited this place yesterday. Ordered a veg thali, Luchi Bhaji, Steamed Veg momo. Was disappointed to see the menu. There is very few Authentic dishes in the menu. Most of them are Chinese. The Assamese thali we ordered did not fall according to expectation. They only served only one sabji that too wasnot great in taste. There could have been more Assamese dishes. Disappointed.

I have been there to this awesome place on 03 May, 2015. It is one of the food stall inside Dilli Haat. I wanted to give a try to their momos and fruit beer. The place is centrally located in Dilli Haat where you can see most of the crowd is sitting there only. I ordered chicken steam momos and fruit beer. Both the dishes were awesome. Momo was simply yummm...and so was fruit beer. Give a shot there and relish the yummy taste of momos and beat the heat with fruit beer..

If momos make you wackadoodle, then this is the place you might be looking for.. you'll get the best momos here.. soft, well steamed, ample amount of filling which is nicely seasoned with spices, even the size of momos is bigger than usual momos served at various places.. and the best part is the smoking hot red chilly sauce of it which one must eat only if you are accustomed to eating hot food else it is not your cup of tea ;) Try at your own risk.. Apart from momos, other dishes like soups, honey chilly potato, noodles, fruit beer all are delectable..Infact they serve their tea in earthen cups or better be called as kulladd which adds the earthy flavour to the tea..
A place where you'd love to be to chill out n to relish nice piping hot tea and yummy steamed momos :)

Dilli haat is the best place to be if you are unsure about what it is that you exactly want to eat. I ended up there on a shopping spree though.
Every delhi-ite is aware of the nukkad wala momos to be the answer to hunger pangs most of the times and nothing better than a good plate of steamed chicken momos on a cloudy slightly cold evening. Assam food stall offers amazingly good momos and chicken soup which would leave you wanting more. Also, their tea and sweet lime soda solve all issue pertaining to shopping fatigue. I've heard the chicken chowmein to be amazing too but haven't tried it yet. Go check it out yourself :)

Seriously good momos,  tastes very good,  comprises pure chicken, and their soup was the tastiest i have ever had in a momo soup. If u r unlucky and it may be their off day, otherwise the soup of the momo is really tasty.

A state stall of Assam in Dilli haat which do not serve authentic Assamese cuisine though the other regular chinese items are also on the menu which can be given a try. Momos and fruit beer combo rocks! but the soup accompanied with momos is tasteless. There are other north east state stalls also but eventually all serves almost same food.

Amazing food and definitely great service, I had a very good time trying them out. Their menu is very varied and covers all regions mostly. Also, the sitting and the setup is perfect for couples to hangout and family as well to eat out. Overall a very good place to eat at any given day.

THE best chicken momos in the city. Both steamed and fried. Even the general chinese food here is really tasty and love the quantities :)

A little place to remember my home. They have pork and bamboo preparations apart from the fish dishes. They even have some localized assamese preparation in chinese menu like bhogali veg/chicken. You can also try the thukpas.

On a mission to cover all the North east indian cuisines in Dilli Haat, we landed in Assam after eating Pork Chops at the Nagaland Stall which had really raised our expectations.

We ordered their famous Assam tea and Pabda Curry with rice. I have heard that their momos are pretty good too but the fact that we had already tasted many momos that day just made me want to order something else. The tea is served in thermocol cups; while we sipped on it, the waiter brought a brass plate with a mound of rice in between along with a bowl of pabda curry.

Being a river fish, the pabda fish generally doesn't smell as much as the seawater fishes, the Assam Stall had made sure what remaining smell was there was removed by cooking it for a long time. The curry was surprisingly similar to the Bengali Pabda curry. An extra pinch of turmeric and some jeera was all that was needed to make it feel like home. Nonetheless, the spices were pretty adequate making for a great meal.

Cost - 300/-

The Assam Food Stall in the Dilli Haat food plaza is a pretty decent place to spend your evenings at. The Vegetarian Momos they serve here are very much like the authentic ones you get in the North East. The Menu is also pretty diverse and the staff is also very friendly.

That said, I don't see anything particularly Assamese about this food stall. Apart from the momos, there are some dishes (like the Luchi Bhaji) that are from Assam but it is probably the preparation, I just don't see anything distinct about the flavor.

I cannot understand how this place has a rating of 2.9? (at the time of this review) I mean it may not serve very good Assamese food but everything else on the menu is fantastic. Everyone who has been here knows that you can't find better Momos anywhere else in Delhi.

Ambiance: 3/5
Like most places in Dilli haat, it has some small tables and chairs.

Food: 5/5
The food here is amazing. Every single dish that I have tried so far has been good. Some of the best are-
1. The Chicken Momos- They are the best Momos you can have in this city. The soup that they give along with the Momos make them taste even better.
2. Fruit beer- I've always had this with the Momos because they go so well together. It is a little sweet and very fizzy.
3. Chilli Chicken Dry- Very few places have good chilli chicken (despite the fact that almost every Chinese place has it) and this is among the best.
4. Assamese Fish- Tastes absolutely beautiful.
5. VEG Momos- They aren't as good as the chicken Momos but still taste quite good.
6. Crisp Spice Chicken- It's just fried chicken which is a little spicy but it taste really good.

Cost: 5/5
My brother and I had lunch here in just 600 rupees and we were completely full. It's definitely value for money.

Service: 4/5
The Momos come very quickly as does the fruit beer but some of the other dishes take time to come. The person who takes your order is nice and smiles a lot!

Overall, this is one of the most underrated places to eat in. Anyone who likes Momos must try this place.

Honestly, apart from the ASSAM SPECIAL section of their menu, there is nothing Assamese about their food offerings. However, their thukpa tastes very authentic as well. That served with fruit beer is near perfection. I also like their service.

Me and two of my friends came to Dilli Haat looking for something unusual to try and we zeroed in on the Assam Food Stall for its Assamese fish curry and rice.
To be honest, nothing else on the menu fit our description of 'unusual': most of it was North Indian and Chinese cuisine.

There was only one guy taking all the orders and serving all the food. He asked us repeatedly whether we really do want the Assamese fish curry. He said it would be tangy, and not spicy at all. He was a little apprehensive about us not liking it, but we assured him that we do want the real stuff.

Now I'm not a big fan of fish. But that curry was really something else. :')
I liked it so much, I took a second and third helping of the curry - it didn't even taste fishy!
The Assamese fish thali came with a dish of mashed potatoes (and some other dishes) that tasted just like your typical parantha filling - it was interesting to eat.

Me and my friend loved the chicken thukpa too - it's one of my standard favourites from Dilli Haat.

I'm totally earmarking the Assamese Food Stall as a great place for great thukpa and I definitely intend to try the Assamese chicken thali next time ;)
