This is one such place I have been eating since I was a kid. I have eaten everything. It’s affordable, clean, serve great food and staff is really nice. My favourite things are
Veg Biryani
Dal Makhni Tadka
Paneer Makhni
Paneer Tikka
Garlic Naan
and Mix Veg
Place for people looking for authentic Indian food. Good option for vegan people.
We really loved the food of Gupta’s Restaurant. It is a pure vegetarian restaurant and the food here is perfect. We tried the daal makhani.Shahi paneer, rajma chawal, paneer dhaniya adraki, aloo Bhojpuri and garlic naan and mix kulcha. Everything was very tasty and the quality and quantity was very good. The prices are very reasonable. They basically do home delivery but they have a small area of seating as well. This place is a must try for everyone.
Paneer dhaniya adarki is the best dish I have ever had here.... tried this receipe in many places but no one can beat..... Small restaurant..... limited and slow service.... but food wise ....nice one 👌
I would say that it's a value for money restaurant.
Dal makhani: it was genuinely Desi. You get the taste of a typical highway dhaba combined with a metropolitan restaurant.
Shahi paneer: it had sufficient pieces and the paneer was soft. The gravy too was thick. But it was sufficient for 2-3 people
Tandoori aloo: I usually love the taste. However, this time they had squeezed more lemons than needed. However, this is one thing I would definitely recommend all to try
Overall, it's a good retaurant and I'd love to visit it again
Nice place near AIIMS for vegetarians and family.. Awesome punjabi food..Roti, Nan both we’re good and cheap.. Don’t forget to order Pind Chana.. It’s paneer, chana and green curry.. Not very tilkha not to much mitha also..
While shopping at south ex 2 ,was searching for a pure vegetarian restaurant where I could take my vegetarian friends for dinner.Gupta's restaurant was a good place to be discovered.Noodles and chilli paneer ordered were quite reasonably price .taste was good too.a very simple ambience and service good too.must visit place for all vegetarian food lovers who want simple, reasonable and clean dining experience
Gupta’s Restaurant has always been an all time favorite with the family. They have maintained the high quality. Strongly recommended their dal makhani and kadai paneer. Even their tandoori items as starters is awesome. You can also request them to keep the spice level less which they do.
Do try it out!
Dine here if you love Veg-food more than the ambiance.
One of the famous Bhogpuri food restaurants. I tried Dhum aalo + veg biryani. I must admit, it’s the taste is matchless. The gravy is thick.
No structured parking, restaurant is very small and crowded during lunch and dinner time.
There shahi paneer and kadhai paneer are amazingly delicious, a small but good pocket friendly vegetarian outlet. Ambiance is ok but food is delicious.
If you want to eat the best food in south x I will suggest you to go Gupta restaurant south extension part 2 The food is awesome atmosphere of the restaurant the prices also reasonable and the service is very good I will suggest you to go there if you want to eat a good and healthy food restaurant for the lunch for the dinner just go and taste the food
#foodforlife #foodlover
Great ginger paneer, wow!
Roti's were cooked well done
Delivery was on time 30-35min
Packed well - no leak
Plates - i didn't ask for
Napkins
Well done
The food is really tasty but it's too overpriced for this outlet. I've seen their outlet in person and I don't think that the price justified the hygiene quotient of this place. So the 4 stars are solely for their food.
Students favorite vegetarian restaurant right next to AIIMS. Food is decent. Small seating place. Their kulchas, paneer dhania adraki and dal are very good. The mushroom dishes and dal makhani are so-so. They make an average biryani and not so great pulao.
A good and reasonably priced restaurant at south ex part 2.
Serves vegetarian food. It also serves platter ( parantha/roti with panner / daal) from 11 am to 4 pm which is good and not expensive.
Must try navratan korma, makhni daal, plater, tandoori aloo parantha etc etc
Good food family Envionment service is also good paneer daniya adhraki is awesome people in the restaurant also good so we enjoy a lots thanks for making our day
Best budget food in south extension
For a budget of rs-200 per person you better visit gupta restaurent .
Must try their best zerra allo, kadhai panner and stuffed kulcha are the best . I usually ordered from here and there service is best
The best vegetarian restaurant available in this area.
Food is tasty and both quantity and quality are worth the price.
The seating is meagre and I wouldn't suggest visiting this place for its dining - takeaway or delivery from this place is better.
To try : Cheese biryani, Paneer Dhaniya Adhraki, Kashmiri Kulcha.
I live in south ex-2 so this one it the closest whenever the air is clumsy in the house and no one wants to cook.
Coming to food, it is decent enough. Thought the years have tried so many dishes and the experience had never been bad. Except for one or two times when tandoori aloop paranthas were a a bit cold and sometimes the stuffing was was poor.
But the fate only slipped then only. Otherwise, for the price the food is reasonable with decent enough taste. A nice place to order from but only for the nearby residents. Not worth traveling long distances for it.

I just stopped by at this outlet. It's near the main market in south extension part 2. I was with my cousin food here was good I ordered stuffed parathe and kulche with Gobi masala and ordered rajma chawal as my cousin is crazy for ajma rice and taste was good and its very reasonable will recommend to everyone if you are exploring this place
Guptas Restaurant located in south ex market is just another vegetarian food paradise for the local residents in area. I ordered for their yellow dal Tadka , mixed vegetables and paneer tikka delivered with some breads , onions and mint chutney. The quality of food is pretty average but their paneer tikka is something extra ordinary that helps improving this restaurant rating. Their prices are reasonable , menu is wide with good portion size but a small restaurant. I can recommend this place to try for their paneer tikka.
It's at the back side of the main market. A pure Vegetarian restaurant. It's a small one with cosy ambience and staff which is working here since years. The rates are comparatively reasonable than the main market. Quantity is good. Dal makhani and paneer butter masala are amazingly good.
South Extension 2 , Leela Ram Market. Known for its fast food and South Indian food . Tried Shahi Panner with Fried Rice it was damn delecious. Prices are moderate. Contact: 26266530 . Home delivery available.

In the main market of South Extension 2, is located a nice and small restaurant that serves quality food at pocket friendly rates. The place that I am talking about is the Gupta’s Restaurant. It was a fine evening when I decided to check out their home delivery system and hence ordered the following from this place-
Sweet Corn Soup- The soup was good. A little addition of flavors is recommended though.
Vegetable Fried Rice- Not very spicy neither too good in taste.
Vegetable Biryani- Had a rich amount of spices, tasted fine.
Kadhai Paneer- Had it with the rice, tasted good.
Paneer Bhurji- The quantity offered was not too much. Hence, I found this one not very filling.
Chilly Paneer- Had it with the fried rice, was a nice combination.
Rajma Makhani- Tasted good. Should be tried by all.
Paneer Pasanda- Although it had a few flavors missing yet the taste was okay.
Missi Paneer Paratha- Nicely stuffed and had a good taste.
This was all that I had from The Gupta’s. As already mentioned, the food here is good and it could be decent option to dine if you are somewhere near the South Ex area.
Recommended!
We ordered from this place and its quite good. Specially for bachelors who hates cooking and have no option to eat at 11:30PM. Pricing is good.Just need to improve daal fry and tandoori butter roti.
If you are a pure vegetarian or its a veg day for you, definitely try the food at this place.
Recently we ordered dal makhni, paneer butter masala, paneer tikka and dum aloo.
This is the best paneer tikka I've eaten in a long time. Marinated in dahi and masala, the flavour had seeped it deeply.
The dal makhni was rich, thick and good.
The breads are amazing
Be it the lacha parantha, garlic naan or stuffed kukcha.
Kashmiri lovers must also try the stuffed naan which was a little sweet too!
This restaurant has changed my view about north indian vegetarian food. I am not usually a fan of veg but this restaurant has something special about it. Dal makhni, chana masala, mushroom paneer, butter paneer are the my favorites and yeah butter nan too 😉
Grt/delicious food. you will love the taste.
All the paneer dishes are awsum. A must try is Shahi paneer and Paneer Dhaniya Adriki.
Staff is also very courteous.
Decent price for the food. Delivery is also prompt.
Seating area is less.
The only thing they need to improve is the raita/curd part.
A small cozy place amidst the hustle and bustle of South Extension II, Gupta's is one place which can shake up the fidelity of a non vegan. It offers quality food without burning a hole in your pocket. The veggie biryani is a must try and maybe one of the best biryani I have ever tasted. Add to it the next door hospitality of the staff and feasting at Gupta's becomes a very enjoyable experience.
Visited this place many times. Its a cosy little vegetarian restaurant with not much seating capacity at one of the market ends.
Staff is very friendly. Decently priced.
Must try Dal makhni and shahi Paneer.
Do try.
Shifted into the new house today so had to order out for the entire family. The nearest one was Gupta's Restaurant. Ordered "Dal Makhni" "Dal Tadka" "Paneer Adraki" and "Aloo Pyaz ke Kulchhe" Dal Tadka is all about simplicity, and the dal I ordered was simply delicious. The tempering of the dal was spot on with red chillies, onion and garlic (must have) for a person who always prefers makhni to tadka its was a bomb of flavours bursting in my mouth. The Kulcha was light soft and spot on with the filling. I'm no lover of a paneer dish but I would recommend the dish. The paneer was fresh and soft and the mild flavour of ginger in the gravy just made my day. Must visit is recommended for all my fellow foodies.
the food is yummy . must try dal makkhni, kadhi paneer, paneer roll & biryani.its a pocket friendly place with good portions. the best place to have vegetarian indian food. on request they also prepare food wuth out garlic and onions. The home delivery serive is promt and quick.
I've been ordering from this place from the last 6 years. Great service and prompt delivery.Awesome food with great finger licking taste.
Must Try:
1. Malai Kofta
2. Navratan Korma
3. Vegetable Fried Rice
4. Vegetable Seekh Hariyali
A decade old place, tucked away behind the South Extension part 2 market... The place is just a small area that has about 6-8 tables, but don't be fooled by their minimal decor..... The place serves one of the best Indian Vegetarian food in town....
A must try are 1. Dal makhani 2. Kadai Paneer 3. Malai Kofta.
Head over if you are in a mood for some serious quality food, less spicy, non oily, amazing flavour and taste, and extremely affordable.
Quality 5/5 ambience 3/5 Service 5/5 Taste 5/5.
Went for a dinner with my friends. Ordered Shahi Paneer and Dal Makhni along with Roti. It was awesome and this place is very reasonable. I have been this place on last 5 years back when i had came for my studies in delhi first time.
I must recommend this place.
Family restaurant for the last 25 years! I use their Shahi Paneer as a benchmark for evaluating any other Shahi paneer. Other favorites - mix vegetable and dal. Dum Aloo is also good but if you want a curried item,go for...yeah...Shahi paneer. Must breads are good but their roomali always dries out very fast (dunno if that's the case with all roomali). The starters are good - paneer better than Aloo. My family loves the green dahi chutney and pickle they serve though I'm generally not a huge fan. The place is small but we've always finds the food so good as to often have large family gathering s and celebrations there (15-18) people.
Love this place, in fact wondering what took me so long to post a review :)
average service with good ambience and excellent food. every item has its own and different flavour. not heavy on pocket it easily sums up about ₹200 per person.
This is a really small restaurant, not having to many tables to sit but the food is really good. I have been coming there since a long time and favourite is Dal Makhni n Shahi Paneer. People for snacks must try Paneer Tikka. The food is nice n fresh.
Another place which was opened as a very small kiosk in south.ex2 mkt near bijlighar.
Veterans of this mkt wud tell u the history behind this.
The vegetarian stuff is just too good even better that the big veggie names u know of.
Must try is the paneer tikka , tomato soup , dal makhni nd kadhai paneer. Again dont go by the size and location its a hidden gem for superb veggie indian food.
Have been going there for 18 yrs too nd lovin it.
Though a small place but if you are looking for a good value for money and good taste, its your destination. Dal makhani and paneer are delicious and variety of breads are there. It was a small treat dinner to friends and we loved it :-)
Had dal makhni and butter naan. Fast service, above average food and competitive pricing makes it a good option if you're bored of the mess food in your college and are looking for a change.
The tastiest and heartiest North Indian-Mughlai vegetarian that this regular joint in the locality serves and the name Gupta's is truly a Hidden Gem and the name is sworn by for its taste by many; not only from the closer vicinity of South-Ex but the far off corners of South Delhi, especially for delivery to near by offices but its equally good to enjoy your food at the outlet too since it has a fair seating area.
My personal favorites are yummy and thick Dal Makhni, Paneer Bhurji, Malai Kofta and Chana Masala along with Pudina /laccha paranthas. There's something right about the food's consistency and the oil and spices are used in perfect moderation.
Encountered Gupta's some four years back when colleagues vouched for its food quality for a lunch take away of 30-35 people at work place nearby for an event preparation and the boys right away fell in love with it. They provided food in casseroles on our request. Its also wise to order Thali parcels for assorted lunch or dinner if incase you are 2-3 pax in numbers.
Have been ordering for home delivery for quiet sometime, encouraged through the reviews on Zomato. And fortunately my experience is good as well. I get the order within 15 minutes at my doorstep, thanks to it being in the vicinity. Special mention to the daal makhani which is amaaaazzziiinnnng.....a must try!
For a pure carnivorous like I, it was difficult for my friend to convince me to have dinner here when the adjacent eatery fill the air with delicious Kababs. So, I overcame that challenge and walked into this tiny room (?) for a nice vegetarian meal. My only belief was that my friend is also an avid foodie. So, I was hoping that it will turn out OK.
Veg Biriyani (I would say pulao as one cannot use it without meat in it) was delicious. I was pleasantly surprised that they serve such nice veg pulao. We ordered a round of Muttar Mushroom which was also very good along with a lime soda. But I think there main USP is Veg Pulao/ Biriyani and that is something one should try out. Rest is average.
Food is average except for Veg Biriyani. Price is good. Ambiance can be better. Service needs huge improvement. Location is perfect.
First i want to tell you guptas food very good , fresh , tasty and hygenic and sabji quantity is good then other vegetarian restaurant . If you are pure vegeterian then this restaurant is too good for you but for small gathering .
Great quality and quantity of food! :D
The service is also good!
Delicious and tasty food... Good service and friendly staff.. Very pocket friendly... According to the taste its a must go... Can lift up the ambience but that rounds up in the taste... ;) it's a must visit...
My rating for this food joint is only based on Taste, the consistency of delicious taste is worth appreciating, service is quick, quantity is more than enough, value for money, only veg.... One of my most fav place to have family dinners. Each Paneer dish taste different unlike in any other restaurant, All Dal dishes are made retaining its flavor not only same masala in all dal variety, simply yum yum yum... Pindi Chana nails all.... I mean worth trying...
Decent food.Above average prices.Quick delivery to AIIMS dorms.
Its quite good. Actually has good food for the price. Delivers quite quickly. No fluff. Just quick and effective.
This restaurant offers you very good food
Dal makhani and kadhai paneer is just awesome
Place is pocket friendly .....just a normal restaurant with very good food
If you are in & around south ex and wanted to have veg food which is tasty but not on very expensive side Gupta restaurant is your option. It is small eating place with no ambience but warm and fresh food in more than sufficient quantities. Food tastes good and it's reasonable on stomach also. There dal, paneer and other dishes all are reasonable.
If you want good Indian food which is also light on your pocket,Gupta's is the place to go to. Its quite a hole in the wall, with no decor, no ambiance. Its a tiny place, hardly seating 20, but the food is worth it! The food is better than some of the award winning restaurants I've been to (of course, everything has a lot of oil/ butter/ spices). The roasted mushrooms are one of the best I've ever tasted. In fact I've tried almost everything on the menu, and liked it all. Keep your snob quotient away when you go here, and you'll love it ! I for one, keep going back for more.
