This is a small restaurant in the Safdarjung development area market... One can have a proper north indian meal without burning a hole in their pockets... The service is good... And the place is clean...
What we tried
1. Kadhai paneer
2. Butter naan
3. Chicken biryani
4. Chicken korma
5. Masala papad
Everything tasted decent... Had a good experience... :)
It is a small restaurant situated in SDA market. The place serves kebab and Indian curries. I ordered chicken malai tikka.
The tikkas had good flavours but they were somewhat chewy. Also I was expecting little bit of white gravy in which the tikkas would be drenched, but it wasn't there. We wanted to have roomali roti but they weren't serving it at that time so it was a disappointment.
Very Nice place have tastier food. Real place to have yummy yummy in your tummy. Main course chicken dishes are best unless difference is in Ur personal likes & dislikes
A small store which is made like an indoor Dhaba, this place in SDA is economical compared to other places in the vicinity.
DECOR/ AMBIENCE:
The decor is extremely basic with minimalistic things. The walls are done up nicely with wall frames of classic Hindi cinema.
WHAT I HAD:
- Dal makhani: The Dal was nicely prepared with less cream which was such a nice change.
- Paneer butter masala: This was actually pretty interesting. The flavors were slightly different but it did taste amazing.
- Tawa chicken: The preparation was on point. It looked so pretty and tasted quite decent. Although I've had much better tawa chicken, this wasn't bad either. With a proper use of spices, this definitely worked for me.
- Butter naan/ Tawa roti: They can improve on the butter naan. The tawa roti was spot on.
SERVICE:
The staff was super sweet but the service was quite slow. Although there were fewer customers, the food took a long time to come. They can improve in this department.
Final verdict: If you're looking for an economical place to have north Indian food, this is your place. Although the service is slow, the food makes up for it.
Small little place, with nice and simple sitting area. The walls has some super old 80-90's movie posters and the music is on.
The main focus is food and is healthy, tasty and the best in SDA at affordable price and good & fast service.
If you are in or near SDA and wana have some good food go to urban dhaba its the best place ππ
I visited this place yesterday night with my family. It was my first visit to this restaurant. I really like the ambience and food.
I ordered mix veg, dal tadka, raita, tandoori roti. I really like it. The staff was polite and welcoming.
Parking area is available. As per cost, the quantity of food should be more.
Had kadhai paneer. Wasn't good but 15% discount for reviewing on Zomato.
140 characters atleast......,.....................................................
It was good. Perfect after minor spot. The Ambience was really nice. Especially the pictures hanged on the wall. It was filled with awesomeness.
Nice ambience and excellent food with great quality of service. The staff is very helpful and cooperative. If u come here do try their kadai paneer
The place is situated at SDA near to fat luluβs. The place is small and is serving Indian food. Ordered soya tikka in starters, mutter paneer and tawa roti. Mutter paneer was quiet good. We actually ordered 2 servings of soya tikka. The first one was good in flavours but the second one was not up to the mark. Service was pathetically slow as the whole place was empty.

Fresh lime soda excellent beverages along with butter chicken. ....
The bollywood theme place has a pretty decent ambience.. Nothing fancy though ... The food ordered was basic paneer sabji and roti and tasted good enough. In terms of pricing and taste I quite liked it. Something I would like to visit again.

I visited this place yesterday ngt after lot of yes and No's cz of it's low rating on zomato. I think it is unit of Spice Aangan which is also located in SDA Market.
The current rating might be cz of it's simple and non - fancy ambience, otherwise itz a great place to hv some North Indian food in SDA.
We had Kadai Chicken, Mutton Keema, Roomali Roti's, naan, lachha parathas. Everything tasted perfect. Itz a small place which can accommodate around 25-30 people. But since alcohol is not served, u can find place easily. It was budget friendly. We three people had total bill of around 750 bucks.
Itz definitely worth going :)
Descent North Indian restaurant.
Sitting space is less but descent food. Not fancy but good in taste & value for money.
I ordered traditional dal makhani & roti & was content eating it. Staff is good.
The place is nice, just nice because there isn't anything special about the place. The food is good though, and the service is quick. The interiors are well decorated with the posters of cult Bollywood movies, although the restaurant doesn't seem to be a Bollywood themed. The menu doesn't offer much, and contains the regular north indian delicacies.
P.S.- Urban Dhaba management, if you're reading this please put a barrier or something beside the wash basin area, I think it is too much exposed to the dining area.
We ordered a chicken gravy and some naan. The taste was really good. Takes some time to serve, but the taste is good. We had an issue with the card payment. The owner was kind enough to let us pay later incase the payment failed. I felt this place needs a better rating
Took lunch here. Ordered Chicken tandoori and Chicken Biryani with green salad. Chicken tandoori was nicely prepared and chicken were perfectly cooked. But the Chicken Biryani was too spicy and too wet. The Chicken Tandoori half plate had 4 decent pieces. The quantity of chicken in Chicken Biryani were 2 decent pieces. We were the first customer of the day. They served in 15 minutes which is reasonable. Overall experience was good. Food was upto the mark given the price and setup.
Good food .. A must visit place..
I am a traveller so need to hunt for a good food,
I ordered chicken tikka masala and biryani..
Must visit place
I like the food, despite the dull ambience. Don't go for the dal makhani pls it blunt. But the non veg dishes were good. The try to light up the ambience by random film posters but somehow it's not up to the mark. Yet a decent place to dine out.
I was not expecting very good food considering the ratings but the food , ambience and service was quite good.i was in mood for quick bite so I ordered dal makhani and roti.dal was very good.
This is a north indian lovers escape from the other cafes in SDA that mostly serve american and Italian food.
The place is neat, service is quick and the staff is nice.
I was in a bit hurry when i visited Urban Dhabha so wanted to grab some quick bites. They do not serve Chinese though it has a mention over their menu.
I tried the veg seekh kebabs and they were nicely prepared and were yummmmy!
Would want to visit for more!
Been there with friend and seriously I am loving this place awsum food and quiet good service :) ordered paneer Butter masala , lachaa parantha , Missi roti ,curb ,onion salad and butter rotis all are served hot and fresh . Even in half plate I get good quantity. Hope to visit this place again soon :) must try !!
A unit of Spice Angan, it serves much better quantity of food than its predecessor. Food itself was a delicacy without being overpriced despite its location.
I was very surprised to see such a low rating of this place.
We got butter chicken home delivered from Urban Dhaba today. Knowing that this is an extension of the famous spice angan, my expectations were very high. Thankfully, they were met.
The chicken had a lovely sweet flavour as it should, but was not overpowering the entire gravy. The chicken pieces were less bone and more meat - something that always makes me happy.
Rating this place a 4 as of now, since I intend to try out other items from their menu soon.
Cheers!
I am surprised this restaurant has such low rating. They have recently renovated and the new arrangement is much more attractive feeling more spacious while retaining the theme inside.
The Kali Mirch chicken had subtle taste and was an absolute delight. The chicken was tender and breads were soft, something which is supposed to be the norm but often ignored.
The kheer which came complimentary was very well made without being overly sweet. Gonna order it next time I go.
The bottled was charged MRP which I feel any restaurant worth its salt should do. The prices are extremely reasonable and the movie posters are interesting. They can improve a little operationally, but that's just me. Will definitely come back.
It is worth a take away or delivery. Sitting in is not a great idea. It's not made for it. But the food is good. I tried tandoori chicken, daal makhani with rumali roti.
A first visit in this small cozy outlet today was very impressive neat and clean outlet super chilled nice old movies pictures on wall.... Food tried only Chana Masala with butter naan ....chana masala was not too good less spicy sweet in taste but butter naan was very good and crispy as I said..... Will try next time
I really took a leap of faith with this one and it paid off. Really nice vegetarian food got delivered this evening. The packing was neat and quantity was at par with quality. The prise was also reasonable. And yeh a complimentary sweet dish was there too and it was yum!
Over all two thumbs up!! And hope the service continues. βΊ
Nice food,,,,good taste..must be order........................................................................................................
Went there for lunch with wife as this is near her office. Decent and basic interior. Food was a plus point. Ordered dal makhani, murgh hand with butter naan and parantha. Dal makhani was good and cooked to perfection. Chicken was good, but little high on spicy side. Gravy was too gud to resist. They have and so listed onion salad in the menu. It's only freshly cut onions. By the way you will get vinegar onions complimentary. Food takes time to come. It took almost 40 mins for main course. Overall a good lunch. Just reduce the time taken to make the food.
