The decor is fantastic, the food delicious and the value for money is justified....had their pork noodles, chicken fried rice, chicken thupka, fried chicken momos, pork ribs, french beans fried and a buff chilly..... everything was incredibly tasty and each had their own flavour profiles....the only disappointment was their service , which was good but was very slow... I just hope they improve their service ......the meal cost us 1300 bucks( we had two more meat dishes packed) which is extremely affordable ..... Definitely recommended, especially for students.
I very fine dinning place. Typical tibetan dishes n chinese. Very delicious and cheap too ambience is nyc very soothing pleasant n calm atmosphere a very fone place to visit and have some muching tibetan and Chinese food
Nor-Khyil is no more a small restaurant with dingy seating place as it used to be. After a brief pause in the last year, this cosy Tibetan joint reopened in January 2017 with its recently refurbished décor and more comfortable sofas.
Recommended Dishes: Buff Chili Dry, Phing Dishes, Shapta (Fried Meat), Nepali Thali and Chicken Szechuan Noodles.
Personal Favorite: Portomein; probably the only place in the whole of MKT to serve this delectable handmade chowmein.
The food list was huge what we ordered. The food was good and opt for a really spicy version. I like being firy with food. The momos are definitely a try but accompanied with red sauce, restaurant serve could be improved worked upon the seasoning and tigmo goes really well if you are opting for dishes with gravy or soups. The noodles were hand made and can be distinguish by looking at the shape of the noodle.
Service was excellent
Dishes are limited but good to taste
Recommendation: fried chicken momos and tingmo
Must visit and explore yourself with these cuisine.
Last Monday, I went to MAJNU KA TILLA, located between Yamuna river and Delhi's outer ring road (NH-1) near ISBT.
It is a Tibetan refugee colony that is located near Delhi university, it is a hot spot for students, youngsters and foreigners for pocket friendly restaurants, cafes and shops selling economical garments & shoes.
NOR-KHYIL, that was earlier a small cafe which has now been converted into a restaurant. They serve Tibetan, Chinese and Nepali food.
Started with CHICKEN THUKPA (Rs. 100/-), a Tibetan noodle soup that had thick noodles, boiled chicken pieces and veggies in it. A bit bland in taste but the clear soup was a great start on a cold day.
Next was CHICKEN PORTOMEIN (RS.120/-), it is their speciality, they use hand made noodles tossed with chicken and veggies. It had a distinctive flavour and a must try one.
Though the taste and flavours were new to me but relished the simple and comfortable food.
All the places here, serve food without any taxes.
Certainly it was a pleasure hanging inside the colony that somewhere gives you the feel of peaceful hillside Tibetan colonies. But a stinky smell at some places was a let down.

Nor Khyil Restaurant MKT is a fabulously great place to be and its been serving deliciously yummy foods. Now I always end up going to this place when I actually want to grab some homely food and it's always fantastic to taste them superb ...
Being a northeastern I love food which has less oil and I mostly prefer Chinese or Tibetan cuisines when it comes to my favourites...
It's a beautifully made place, presenting the perfect ambience with quality food at reasonable rates...
I love to have the chicken mushroom soup, the pork Thupka, Tingmo and pork Ribs and the banana Pan cakes...
Overall it's an amazingly great place to enjoy your meal... I recommend this place to everyone who wants to try some different cuisines..

Quite amazing . My personal favourite in Majnu ka tilla. Please try their homemade portomein and sosomein . The perfect place to taste Tibetan cuisine
This place had been on my list since the first day i had visited majnu ka tilla 1.5 years back. it always looked to me quite inviting, so this time I decided to accept the invitation ;)
Decor - it was just OK, nothing special, just that it was neat and clean except some noises from inside.
Service- i feel there is much to improve, there were only servers and they were quite occupied, it was taking long for them to serve.
FOOD - we ordered one tom yum soup (as they did not had TOM KHA), one veg won ton soup, one veg thukpa, 3 ting mo, 1 fried chilli button mushroom, 1 koti momo, they did not had tofu (so we could not order any TOFU), 1 mix veg hot garlic sauce, 1 chilli paneer gravy, we also had 1 hand made noodles, (i forgot the name) and 1 green Mojito and few fruit beers.
Tom yum soup was nice and tangy. won ton soup was little bland for me. koti momos were very very nice, fried from one side tasted amazing with their chilli paste chutney (I dont know what it is called ;). fried chilli button mushrooms were actually mushroom pakodas with vegies. I actually did not like it much.
Ting mo were very very nice, soft and spongy. chilli paneer gravy and mix veg hot were very very nice. their mix veg gravy had oranges also in it, which tasted amazing, just loved this dish. noodles were chewy, i feel they should have been boiled more.
Mojito was strange, seems they have put loads of mint syrup in it, making it taste like polo mixed in mojito. fruit beer was also not cold enough.
We were so full by now that we did not even touch thukpa and got it packed.
overall a satisfying experiance.
I love finding new dens and experimenting with new cuisines. Sometimes the experiments do turn sour, but when they click it becomes an experience to relish. Nor-khyil turned out to be one such successful experiment. Located in Majnu ka Tilla, natural inclination goes for ordering Tibetan food. But I decided to try Nepalese for a change. Ordered Nepalese thali and a pork shapta. The order took some time but the food was delightful. Shapta is basically fried meat, the taste wasn't very spicy and properly fried. The thali came with roti, rice, salad, papad, boiled spinach, green urad daal and chicken curry. The quantity was perfect, nothing in too excess. Loved the daal and chicken curry was amazing. We asked if we could get some extra curry, it was so good and the obliged with one full bowl. We felt very happily fed, but still wanted to try some dessert so ordered for banana pancake. The pancake was freshly baked and pretty hot but not very impressive. Still, overall had an amazing dining experience.

Another common cafe in town but with richness of food quality.
Always ask for the food or soup quantity as they serve different volumes for different kind of soups and thupkas.
Nothing exceptional I could find there......to enhance your scire visit once.
Take away is an option to be at its coordinates.
So One more review from same place Majnu Ka tila, this restaurant is situated on T point of street from where I usually enter in majnu ka tila camp. Overall a nice place to go with friends but we were only two people who were sitting in the lunch time. I was bit dicy that this place is not upto the mark that's y no one is here on Saturday lunch hours........ but the food was good.. and there is a lady sits in the front of this restaurant with something to eat. I don't know the name of that stuff but you can try that thing in gravy or dry and that dish is seriously awesome and the fact is the filling of this stuff is veg but you can not pretend what is it made of...
Visited Majnu Ka Tila excitingly for the first time after reading friends' reviews about the place and Nor-Khyil. However, the approach to the Outlet is really stinky and filthy. Once inside, the ambiance is really good however the taste of the Veg Thukpa and Veg Momos was far from delicious - the kind that I had at numerous simple outlets in and around Kaza or Leh.
The red sauce for Momos had more salt than needed and lacked the chilli. The Thukpa veggies could have been boiled for 3 minutes more. The options to increase chilliness in the Thukpa were also of no use. Overall, I felt quite disappointed with the food taste.
The food here is good. You will have trouble ordering if you don't know about the Himalayan dishes (other than momos 😉). The server has little knowledge about the food so better ask the receptionist. N yeah don't order any beverages coz the suck.......
My favourite would be:
Teemo (it's a steamed bun)
Datsay (cheese gravy)
Momo (it's obvious 😉) if you eat beef then go for it otherwise chicken is good too
Pork chilly
Oh this place has so many memories attached to it.. Me and my best friend's place to be.. N not to forget surely the best food and thukpa in delhi i can find only at this place.. Reasonable on pocket.. So i dont mind driving that far to this place..
One stop for nice n pocket friendly chinese food....Manchurian, rice noodles, Singapore noodles are just a few among its great food
If its majnu ka tila, its nor-khyil
This was truly an exploration based on zomato recommendation on Himalayan cuisine...the restaurant is hidden in the small lanes of Tibetan camp near majnu ka tila...took us a while to figure out its location...but it was worth the discovery...i didn't hv time to sit there and eat so ordered a take away..,while the preparation time is long, food was good. Apparently the veg turned out to be much better...may be because we didn't order any Tibetan authentic non veg but tried the Authentic veg from east...we loved the veg portomein (handmade noodles) with stir veg fried. At first look the stir fried veg was little repelling bcoz of white sauce but it tasted good. Our fav was fried button mushrooms with timo bread amd chilly sauce...must try place...next on our list from the menu is shamabalay (the big momos) ...we are going again !!
Awesome Place!!! Me and my wife ordered Special Fried Rice, with Buff Shapta and Veg Thukpa along with two fruit beers. We finished the meal two delightful green teas. The ambiance was good, and the service was great. The dishes were well marinated, especially the buff meat. We loved it. It is a must visit, if you are in Majnu ka Tilla!!!
Norkhyil Restaurant is a preferred dinning place for good and healthy food lovers. Foods are served clean and fresh everyday.
some of the best dishes are, fried chicken momo, handmade noodles, crispy chilli potato, fried butter mushroom, stir fried green vegetables and fried noodles.
A good value for money.
Well initially we planned to go to tee-dee to have some pork dishes...but unfortunately or fortunately they didn't had pork dishes that day due to shortage or non-availability of pork. So, we started scanning the other restaurants to venture. This little restaurant with its cozy demeanor attracted our attention. We went in with a trepidation that it might be too costly to afford. However that was not the case and after one look at the menu we settled down.
We ordered Ghyuma which was very tasty a bit slightly rubbery but enjoyable. Then we ordered buff thenthuk, pork portomein, pork sosomein, buff with peltsey, pork slice in black bean sauce and chicken szechaun noodles. Most of the times buff dishes, having tough fiber, become very chewy but not these. Buff with peltsey was awesome; best I have ever eaten among any buff dishes. Portomein was also very good. Phing dish had rice noodle of glassy variety and I enjoyed it. Though the soup was a bit dull in the phing but didn't spoil the dish as such. I didn't like the sosomein that much and thenthuk was also good. I was saving the best for the last; the pork in black bean sauce had all the right ingredients to make you have gastronomic orgasm. ;) It was delicious.
Now coming to the serving, it was decent and quick. They are very helpful in choosing your dishes. The restaurant is very well maintained in spite of being a small one. The ambiance was also very good and soothing, not noisy.
I would firmly recommend everyone to try this place at least once. I am definitely going there again.
Nice Chinese noodle
Value for money
Good place for fast food and try special taste
Its a great place... The food is amazing... Especially luv the pork fried wuth peanuts and buffalo chilly gravy... The price is very cheap...will definitely come again..
Now certainly I will not be the most followed foodie when I rate Nor-Khiyl 4 !!!!! But ..thoroughly deserves it. Why?
Because of
a) the sheer amount of passion that goes into the food
b) the characteristic north-eastern zing
The buff preparations are excellent. I went for the buff rice and the chele. The buff rice could be missed as it was pretty dry. The chele was spot on. Strongly fermented and stir fried with green pepper and tons of onions for adding the right amount of moisture as the meat is very stringy. The kung pao chicken was good but was overdone. And for the american chopusey should be immediately taken out from the menu ,as they have no clue what it is. The fermentation of the buff accompaniments might be a bit hard on the north indian palate but is worth it. Not extravagantly priced, it surely has the appeal, of course, leaning towards the tibetan/north-eastern population. Before you step in, please note that , your judgement of the food should be based on the fact that , Nor-Khiyl has an acquired taste and might hit you with a burst of flavor that you might not be prepared for.
Head Of The Herd:
Buff Chilli fry
TRY NOR-KHYIL RESTAURANT , ONCE YOU ENTER , YOU CAN NEVER LEAVE...SUCH A GOOD AMBIENCE, SERVICE AND EVERTHING .. I'M LOVING IT..

My first experience here was amazing but the second one was not so. There were loud kids eating nearby and the food was mediocre. But the place is nice!
