Simple yet yummy Indian food, good value for money. Portion size is generous. The only negative is that its too rich and oily. Special cooking instructions make it perfect.
I just love this restaurant, best south Indian res in Delhi so far. I miss going to this place. Everything about this place from filtered coffee to dosa is just awesome.
The cafe in GK is truly a great combination of authentic food and pleasant ambience. The staffs are very cordial and willing to understand your taste preference and then suggest dishes. We ordered for a Neer dosa which was quite normal. Highly recommend.
I have unconditional love for uddina vade and gatti chutney. 🥺❤️
It is crispy, golden brown on the outside and soft/spongy on the inside. They taste the best when served with fresh coconut chutney or hot sambar. 😋 (I prefer gatti chutney anyday 🙈)
This place is excellent with delicious south indian dishes which is prepared with absolute perfection which makes you want to order more and more.
Bakasuri Rating: 5/5 ✨
Simplicity and taste are the two key components which make this restaurant a fantastic place to grab a bite, any time of the day. The ambiance is decent and the staff is very courteous.
Best in South Indian food in Delhi
I just love everything about this place...
One of my favourite breakfast places in Delhi...
Thatte idli, Malleshwaram 18 cross dosa are my favourite here... And must order dishes to start your day with. Followed by a nice filter coffee.
What could be better than this on a sunny winter morning or showering monsoons.
Peaceful place
Ordered their special Malleswaram 18 cross dosa which was amazing it didn't have filling of any kind like we see in other dosa's Masala are properly appy on it and make dosa thick and crispy which is delicious they put lots of Butter on it
Authentic south India vibes are coming from this place
Other dish I highly recommend is workshop thatte idlii it is soo good and so amazing whenever you visit must try
Love this dish
They serve homemade ice cream which is quiet good
I had their Pink Guavas ice cream so delicious and yummy
Love this place ❤️
Rating 4.5/5
I had their speciality dosa - Malleswaram 18th Cross Dosa, and it was heavenly 🤩
Unlike the regular dosas, this dosa did not have a filling, nor was it thin.
It was very heavy & crispy & delicious ❤️
This place is very pretty & does justice with its name. It has amazing South Indian vibes✨
The menu is quite elaborate & the dosas & uttapams are pretty good 👌
They have branches in Gurugram & Lodhi Colony too.
Must visit💃
Don’t forget to eat the WORKSHOP Thatte Idli, Dahi Vada and Paddu among the starters.
For the Dosas: Personally a MAD FAN of Ghee Roast Masala Dosa, but for a change: Benne Khaali, Mandakki and the Malleshwaram 18th Cross are my personal favourites.
Don’t forget to try some filter coffee ☕️ And freshly squeezed Orange Juice 🍊
The place is quite cute with the best South Indian cuisine the dosa is to die for. Also they have hand made ice creams which are a treat as well
One of the finest places to have South Indian food, with an extensive menu to choose from and is bound to change your perception about dosa. If u love spicy stuff, do try their Bombat and Malleshwaram 18th Cross. Most of their dosas are cooked in white butter adding a great taste to the dish and giving it a distinguishing and unique taste.
Carnatic Cafe blew my mind with their dosas! Tried the Malleshwaram 18th Cross Dosa which was thick and fluffy coated in Podi chutney and white butter. The Podi chutney was generous in quantity and was the highlight of this dosa. Each bite was as flavoursome as the last! To wash this down, I also ordered Buttermilk which was refreshing to the core! I'm still reeling from my lunch, it was that good!
Carnatic Cafe is a South Indian Gem. They have a wide variety of dosas which are quite unique. I ordered
Rice Idli - The softest idli I have ever tasted, absolutely delicious
Vada - The vada was crispy yet soft inside
Dahi Vada - I loved the fact that they gave boondi on the side so it didn’t get soggy. The taste was spot on
Butter Dosa - The dosa is comparatively a little thicker but it’s super crispy
Mandakki - This was made from poha batter... it was yummmyyyy
Overall Verdict - Definitely worth a visit
It's a wonderful place with a chill vibe! Clean restaurant, enough space to seat a decent number of people and the menu's got decent variety too. The food is delicious, good portions. You must visit if you get the time!
This cafe is different from the other South Indian eateries in Delhi probably because it serves food of a different region. They serve a massive idly that they call Thattey Idli. It is soft and spongy and comes with a dullop of white butter (unlike any other place) and a very spicy and delicious peanut chutney. The 18th Cross Dosas they serve here are made in white butter and is thicker than most other dosas I've ever had. It is still surprisingly crisp. The masala smeared in the dosa gives it a distinctive flavour. A must visit place to have dosas that are different from that of Sarvana Bhavan or Juggernaut.

The staff was very courteous and the Malleswaram dosa suggested by reviews in Zomato is really awesome. Filter coffee was a relief in this cold
Nice ambience and great food. What I like the most is the cleanliness and hygiene standards maintained. In terms of.prices I feel it's aptly priced for the the kind of restaurant and maintenance.
Must have dosa. It is different than anything you would have had ever
My yet another visit to Carnatic Cafe out of many visits.
I am Big fan of there Malleswarai 18th cross dosa, bacisally it is a GUNPOWDER dosa. Best and must try...
Tried almost from.there menu.
This time I had dosa, rawa dosa(not good), filtered coffees which is good.
There Sambhar is just NOT GOOD.
Had rasam which they serve with papad, I am not a fan of rasam, so if you like in cold winter go ahead.
All 3 Chutneys are really good :)
I love this place, for many reasons. The food is the real deal....one feels like one is in the South. All very tasty dishes, and just the right quantities. Great ice cream. The cooks are happy. And last but not least is the manager. He sits in the back at his computer paying the bills and doing the taxes, right next to the kitchen. As it turned out, I had just returned to India from the West and while in the restaurant my phone would not work properly and I could not call an uber. I ended up asking the manager for help...he stopped all his focused work to try and help me....and it took at least ten minutes or more. So I was able to call uber...thanks to that wonderful man. In the end he told me a customer asked for some kind of help a week ago with his phone and the manager let him use his phone. The customer turned out to be a loser....he transferred somehow rs 900 from the manager's wallet account. So even after this, the manager was happy to help me. A rare man of integrity. A big THANK YOU!
Authentic South Indian Food, serves delicious Paddu and Malleshwaram. Filter coffee is also good.I once had coconut icecream which is ok for me.
A very good and genuine South Indian food not the chain food variety one has become used to getting, the rava idli and paadu are must try ! Will definitely go back!
The dosas are just so unique here! Loved the crunchy dosa with lots of Desi ghee. Also, their filter coffee is too good.
This is a really drool worthy place in gk 2 M block marlet. The place feels like it’s straight out of of Karnataka. The food is really authentic was was my favourite was their 18th cross dosa which had fillings of gun powder and paddu which were delicious fried balls of batter and accompanied by South Indian filter coffees
Been a fan of this place since college. So happy that they've opened up in Meherchand market. Today dishes were a little bleak, probably because of the heavy weekend crowd! Ankita Mandal
This is a lovely place for awesome carnatic food. All their varieties of dosa are impeccable! Their chutneys are finger lickingly good.
Carnatic Cafe is an authentic South Indian eating joint, serving delicacies with original South Indian spices, that will leave you asking for more.
The staff is courteous and would happily help you decide what to order. Great cultural and traditional values of South India have been maintained by this place by its simplicity and richness in food and flavors.
We had Manina Magga Dosa and fell in love with the unique chutney of crushed Groundnuts and Bayadgi chilli smeared on top of it.
We also tried Paddu which were quite flavorsome served with tri-color chutneys making them look even more appetizing.
Filter coffee is a must.
The icing on the cake is the homemade ice-creams served here. We tried Tender coconut and Jamun and loved the creamy texture, apt flavor and right amount of sweetness in them.
Good place. Service could have been better. Superior taste though.
Such good taste spoilt by a piece of small stone
Ah-mazed like always. Carnatic may not win hearts over their starters but the main course is to die for. I tried the Patravali Oota, their one of their thalis which had rice in it. One can guess the fresh herbs and spices from the dishes. Its chutneys are so fresh that you will feel that its been freshly plucked and crushed from the backyard. Don't miss out the ice-creams here. Healthy and wholesome only at Carnatic.
Love love love the authentic cuisine!
It's one of the rare few places which cook Raagi dosa.. Raagi roti(akki) with onion chilly, and serving it with the delicious chutneys!!!
The place serves the freshest chutneys in town, and the taste of the dishes stays with you!
Have tried multiple dishes over here - and highly recommend:
Raagi (akki roti - staple in Karnataka)
Raagi dosa
Neer dosa
Podi utthapam
Thali
All specialty dosas
It was a date night and I had been wanting to try this place for the longest time. We ordered
• Dahi Vada - sweet curd, soft vada, crunchy boondi. The dish did justice to our expectations.
• Thatte Idli - tried this for the first time and ohh my god... Now i know why people drool over it.
• Malleshwaram 18th Cross Dosa - delicious, thick yet crunchy, butter filled, heaviest dosa ever, but what deliciousness
• Podi Onion Utthapam - highlight of the show. The chutney dressing on the Utthapam stole the show.
Overall, a great experience and a must visit for all you south Indian cuisine lovers.
The service was very prompt, the food was also served hot. We ordered idli, vada, Mysore masala dosa and rawa masala dosa. The dosas here are a little thicker, but surprisingly crispy, which made it so hard to finish 😂 (it was really heavy).
Being a dosa lover from Bangalore, when I moved to Delhi and felt homesick, all I wanted was some good dosa to make me feel better again. So, I ended up in so many places that give dosa but they just don't make it the way we make it in Karnataka (soft on the inside, golden and crispy on the outside). My search for the perfect dosa brought me to Carnatic Cafe. Now I visit the place everytime I am in GK. The obbattu and the bisi bele bath deserves a special mention.
This is a place that must be visited by anyone who wants to explore food.
When was the last time you had an idli that melted in your mouth? Well that's how amazing their idlis are. Even the vadas were prepared to perfection with right amount of crust/crispiness outside and soft inside. Also I was pleasantly surprised to be served hot idli and vada as most of the restaurants have them ready and serve them at room temperature. Their dosas are just the way I like... soft and fluffy. You may order the regular paper dosas but I like em home style. Also no South Indian restaurant is complete if they don't have optional gun powder. Try the idli or dosa with their gun powder with ghee... I'm sure you won't be disappointed
i went to this place in evening, the ambience of this place was nice, i ordered here 4 dosa's
2 masala,1 mysore, 1 ghee roast masala.
All were upto the expectations, servicing was also good, interior was attractive,
Being Kannadiga, I really liked the food. And the ambience totally gave the whole south india feeling😬. They serve water with copper vessels and gave me nostalgic feeling:). We ordered malleshwaram 18th cross dosa, which was pretty heavy, with all chutney powder and desi ghee scraped inside, which i also thought it was too much:/. I ordered ragi roti, which is authentic Karnataka food. Karnataka people are everything about ragi, and this was also really good:) but i had one complaint “why on earth so less proportion of chutney?”. I’m not sure if people from north India would love it, but people from south india sure will😬. And we ordered “majjige” which is official Karnataka styled masala buttermilk. That also tasted authentically good. And as a cherry to a cake, the coconut ice-cream was amazing... i would totally recommend to order coconut ice cream, they served on coconut shells and it tastes amazingly good:) place is totally recommended:)
Undoubtedly the best place for South Indian food in New Delhi, their dosas are amazing, especially the Ragi dosa and dahi vada. Anything you eat here is outstanding and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who would like to have some delicious South Indian food!
We went here on a rainy day.
And my experience was really good.
We had ordered:
Filter coffee
Masala dosa
Mysore masala dosa
Akki Roti meal
The filter coffee was amazing. Hot and best in taste.
Masala dosa was good. The dosa was thick and masala was served separately in a small bowl.
It had 3 chutneys and sambhar.
Mysore masala dosa was good good too.
Akki roti was yummy. 2 rotis served with a sabzi(kadi) , podi and 3 chutneys.
The dosas were heavy.
Good place for south indian food.
Good experience.
Ordered Bombat Dosa and Patravali Oota Thali. Loved both of them. I had also ordered their fresh icecream from their menu, would definitely order more.
Such a gooooooooood place 😍
A friend took me to this place and mann their ambience, food, staff, service everything was on point!
Their menu had many intersting options which made it diffficult to choose what to order 😛
We ordered:
1. Dahi Vada - Perfect blend of sweet curd and vada with some boondi's on it 🤤 It was very tasty.
2. Bombat Dosa - One of the best Dosa I've ever had 😍 It was full of flavours, spicy and so very tasty 🔥❤️

Will we visit this place again?
Yeaasssss!
Had breakfast here two days in a row, everything we tried was really tasty, everything was clean and very reasonably priced. You had both spicy and less spicy options, so perfect for travelers. Would absolutely recommend if you’re staying nearby. Lots of vegetarian options as well
My favourite South Indian restaurant in the entire area. Great variety of options available and the service is really quick. Top quality food. Recommend 10/10
Went out there with family for an easy dinner on a fine Saturday evening. The place was teeming with people. Had to wait for 5 minutes outside the place standing. The place is located on ground floor of Greater Kailash M-Block market. Luckily, we were able to find parking just opposite the restaurant. There are four stair steps that one has to climb, though side railing is there for support but a little pavement before it can be hindrance for people who walk with calipers and walking stick like myself. The place is NOT wheel chair accessible like most of our Indian food joints. People spend crores on embellishments but don't spend iota of their time Or brains on making these places inclusive for a sizable #disabled population of India. However this disabled population is called Divyang. The furniture could have been more comfortable. The tables are okay, made of brass. The chairs are hard. The decor is good. Since it's almost end of October, the atmosphere was cosy. The staff was courteous and service fast. All the items were prepared in pure ghee. The dosas are served with three kinds of chutneys. I personally liked original coconut chutney. The Dahi vada was sweet. The malleshwaram dosa will make you remember parantha made of homemade ghee residue. I found it awesome. The ghee roast dosa is served with potato masala on the side NOT inside. One has to ask for saambar, they don't serve suo motu. The podu are fried idlis like balls. The kesri bath was like light suji halwa. Generally, you feel hungry after an hour or two when you have had South Indian meal. However, this is the first instance when I felt full even when going to bed. Worth giving a try once. You won't regret it. All the same, I would prefer dosa in Lal Sai Market, Lajpat Nagar anytime over any upscale restaurant in Delhi. Street food beats restaurants all the times.
Undoubtedly one of the finest restaurants serving South Indian fare in Delhi NCR.
The place is minimally done, well lit and had soothing carnatic music playing in the background. Adequate seating arrangement is also there.
We went there to grab breakfast on a Sunday. We were attended a little late for my liking however the order was delivered very quickly. We had ordered filter coffee, mysore masala dosa and malleshwaram dosa. Both the dosas were finger licking good. Filter coffee was just okayish. For dessert we had a scoop of vanilla blueberry icecream. It was given in a cute coconut shell and was again very very good.
I feel the plating can be improved and also they need to have a provision for ramp for people with special needs. I also didn't see any high chairs for the babies. I hope the management incorporates these changes to make this cafe more inclusive and welcoming.
The food here is authentic and tasty. Rasam was outstanding and paddu is a must have snack over here. The staff and service was excellent. However, waiting time at every branch is totally tiring and it also fades off the vibe a little bit.
This Cafe serves amazing authentic dishes of karnatak. Must try padu, thatte idli. Very famous cafe in this area. The food is excellent but the service is the worst. We went there on Sunday at 12.45 so we managed to get a table but after 1 Pm waiting started outside the cafe. There are only two waiters who are taking care of all tables. The whole time they look into the mobile. We have to speak loudly to call him. He forgot my kid's order to place in the kitchen. Very worst service by their staff. Food is excellent so people come. The price is expensive as per the quantity. Ice cream one scoop is Rs. 170/-
One of the best dosas in the town.
Very good in taste.
Good hygiene and clean ambiance.
But the service is very poor, you have to wait too long to call anyone on table because they don’t even look and just ignore sometimes. This is very bad thing for any place.
Otherwise food and everything is really great.
Thampu soda highly recommended.
Undoubtedly the finest South Indian eatery in Delhi. The flavors are delightful, and the prices are exceptionally reasonable. The ambiance is pleasantly relaxed, making it a perfect spot for families.
I visited Carnatic Cafe in GK M Block market. Just like all Carnatic Cafe the ambience is nice . They have standard ambience for all their outlets.
I have ordered my favourite Malleshwaram 18th cross Dosa
Neer Dosa
Thaatey idli
puddu idli
Neer dosa is very good, it has a cloth like texture and made from coconut and white butter. They serve unique Coconut jaggery chutney with neer dosa which was good. Thaatey idli and puddu idlis are amazing as well. Puddu idlis are shallow fried idlis
Malleshwaram dosa was as usual amazing.
Service was really good and prompt despite cafe was completely packed.
overall nice experience.
Loved their Malleshwaram and Bombat Dosa. Their dosas are different from the regular dosa we have so expect a little different taste. Loved their chutneys. Dosas range between 200-300. Bombat and Malleshwaram are heavy and one dosa can definitely fulfill your stomach.
I went here for lunch with my family.
My dad ordered their thali whose name I don't remember but he loved it. He said the flavours were good and savory. I loved the rava kesari.
My mom ordered onion rava masala dosa which was so nice that I couldn't get a chance to click a photo. She loved it too
I ordered their special Malleshvaram dosa. It turned out as expected. Crisp on the outside and soft from the inside. It was dripping in white butter (which I love.) The only problem was the gun powder chutney. Altho it was very tasty, there was a lot inside the dosa. I would recommend the restaurant to reduce its quantity as 1/3rd of it I had to throw. Otherwise the dosa was superb.
To top off we had ordered Buttermilk which was very refreshing.
Worth a try. I ordered south Indian food and it was lip smacking.
We had Bombat dosa, masala dosa, malleshwaram 18th ( gun powder) , Benne khali dosa (butter dosa) , Ghee roast dosa & filter coffee and all tasted yum.
My personal favourite was Bombat Dosa :)
JUST ABOUT :]
Have lived in karnataka for sometime and realised that south indian food is not like a Generic term even the humble dosa has different texture and taste in different states like karnataka, kerala,Tamil Nadu etc
Karnataka dosas have a fluffy and crispy texture ,was very excited to try out the dosa and Thatte idli (big plate sized idli)
Tried the malleshwaram cross dosa the texture was bang on but the podi (chutney) was a disappointment it was just too much and made the whole experience not great
Idli was OK, also was surprised to find Tamil dosa options in carnatic cafe but anyways it's good as there are a lot of variety to choose
Interiors were modern and seating was available though it was pretty crowded
A Very authentic South Indian Restaurant.
The hospitality is amazing, service is quick, Food is Tasty and there are plenty of dishes to try.
Pure Vegetarian Food.
They have their home-made ice creams, just like naturals.
Decent place to be with family or friends.
Highly Recommended if you want to try Authentic South Indian Cuisine.
Authentic South Indian food Cafe. Very reasonable price and delicious food served. Liked the kokum drink and mysore masala dosa.
Good place for Karnataka style South Indian food preparation. Chutneys can be improved. Overall food is good. Reasonable prices.
We had rawa onion masala dosa, onion uthapam and wangi bhath along with filter coffee. Good quantity and quality.
Food was very different from the regular South Indian food available in market. They have so much variety with special signatures stuff of Carnatic as well.
We have been here multiple times but still we like to continue coming to try new stuff.
