Ordered first time at this place...the chicken tandoori was awesome....roasted perfect...fresh....though chilly was a bit extra as per our taste...but all-in-all very tasty.... 👍

The food is very tasty and price is reasonable. The place is not very well decorated but the service is also very fast so overall it was nice.
I've been eating from samrat since the last 5-6 years. What I love about this place is that even after so many years, the quality and taste remains. I majorly eat the masala Chaap and shahi paneer from there. Masala Chaap is my personal favorite and I love the taste! The herbs and spices are just the right amount!

Even if you eat carnivorous food then it is very good and if you eat vegetarian then it is very good to eat. Both things are where you can go. There is no problem, they make very good food.

As it have all at one place when me and my friends feel lil tipsy we have no choice rather than samrat restro quality wise good food also the veg itmes and spices the blend into the food is awesome tawa chicken and paneer tikka masala is also so good yummy and tasty with naan good sitting there also very well in delivery
Came back here after more than two years and I used to be a regular here in my teenage years.
Staff are prompt and seating is adequate though not plush.
The Naan’s and Dal were tasty but I was disappointed with the butter chicken, it didn’t taste as it used to but perhaps it was because we had come in very late for dinner.
Would want to come back here again at a proper time for a longer dining experience.

I came to know about this place through here. Recently I visited this place and ordered Tandoori chicken in starter and shahi paneer with naans in main course.
All the items were really amazing and delicious.
But the interiors and presentation can be improved.

An old establishment near GTB Nagar Metro station, Samrat Restaurant offers delicious food at inexpensive prices. A lot of variety from North Indian to Indian-Chinese to South Indian is on offer.
I tried their Crispy Honey Chilli Potato (₹180) and Meethi/Sweet Lassi (₹50). Lassi simply blew my mind away. Thick, creamy & rich, it was amazing without any trace of sourness, a problem faced by many establishments due to sourness of Yoghurt. Potatoes too were amazing. Perfectly fried, with perfect coating of the sauce and without, thankfully, any trace of vegetable in it.
Altogether a nice place. Cheap with delicious food. Ambience is of a cheap bistro, so don't expect too much there. Service is little slow but fine. Go to Samrat Restaurant for its amazing, affordable food.

It’s a legendary outlet in North Delhi from because they’re serving the amazing food from many years.
I always try their food 2-3 times In a month because of their quality and amazing hospitality.
Must try their butter chicken and tandoori chicken for sure.
I ordered chicken malai tikka and kadai chicken with Butter naan .. Malai taikka was supper creamy and chicken was very smock and soft whereas kadai chicken was little spicy and was really tasty

Restaurant is ok but need to be more hygiene... I ordered chicken korma, it was ok not so delicious as you will find out in Paharganj area. There should be a proper bathroom, especially for ladies and staff seems not showing interest to take order...

If you are a punjabi and purpose is to enjoy the best punjabi food. You must go to Samrat. It's really a Samrat amongst the fancy restaurants in GTB Nagar. No one can match their quality and quantity. Ambience is not so good, but food is amazing if you vegetarian must try Dal makhni and paneer Tikka & for non vegetarian butter chicken and fish Tikka.
I guess one the oldest restaurant in gtb nagar area, from outside its look nice, interiors are simple, they have good variety of non veg food try their tawa chicken which was good but malai chicken was not so good..
Before this side of north delhi became a hub for eating out and got packed with cafes and joints, just right on the corner of a busy ring road junction, lies this old timer restaurant which is/was famous for low priced food. Living on that side of the town for most of our growing up days, there is an emotional connect with that place, wherein samrat became our regular go to place for ordering or on-the-way pick up for our household. Dal fry, chana pindi, tandoori chicken and seekh kebab masala may be the only worthy dishes in a vast menu. Treat this as a road side eatery/dhaba and one shall love it.

I order tandoor chicken and Afghani tandoor chicken. I liked both and i am hoping to visit to try other dishes. I am writing this line to get 140 characters.
Now here's the all rounder of food section. specialist in mughlai food.i never had Afghani chicken like that which samrat provides.there veg was also good .they also good in south indian,Chinese food. But i little bit disappointed with there family section i feel little congested but all of above samrat restaurant is pocket friendly and quick in delivery too

One of the best Butter Chicken. Old place. Not much on decor. Go for a quick in and out eat or do a takeaway instead. They do delivery in the nearby areas but funnily their minimum order value for delivery keeps changing. I guess depends on their mood at the time. So you must ask for the minimum amount before ordering.
Old is gold...a very old resta... I persnally love there food...most of the time i use to have there chicken briyani...and it is soo yammy...the quantity was enough for 2 person.. they are really doing good job

This place is one of the oldest restaurants in Delhi and perhaps one of the most famous ones as well specially in north Delhi circles. They serve almost every cuisine and their daal makhani was specially one to savior till quite a few years back owing to its thickness and oodles of rajma in it. But now over the period of time the taste has somewhat diminished and is not up to old standards anymore. Given the options are plenty and prices decent it is almost full everyday. But there are much better options nowadays nearby Vijay nagar and Delhi university, hygiene wise and taste too!

It's apparently the oldest restaurant in gtb nagar area. The ambience is like any non fancy family restaurant..
We ordered tandoori mutton tikka, creamy chicken gravy, lachha paratha and cheese paratha.
The food was nice specially the tikkas.. But it wasn't quite pocket friendly...
Good food, great portion, and a moderate ambience. This is a good place that is worth visiting. Definitely try out their cream chicken and tandoor chicken.
Recently visited this place after a very long time. Located near one of the metro gate of gtb nagar metro station. This place just attached to the ring road so quite accessible and can be easily be spotted. Although there is no parking space nearby so metro is the best option for getting there. Coming to food, we ordered chilly chicken boneless and the hardcore one tandoori chicken. Both items tasted good as they tasted in the past.
Ambience wise its fine. Staff is cordial and service is also good.
