If you’re a street food lover and don’t mind eating in the basic atmosphere or even on the road and struggle to get your plate of soul satisfying happiness, then this is the place to try.
A must visit place for “The Nihari” like no other.
Loved nihari here...BEWARE:Only available between 5:00 pm to 6:00pm....One of the top class nihari of Delhi....Better than that of Javed Nihari, Jahangeer(Daryaganj), Kareem's etc....But the seating arrangements was quite unhygienic...If with family, don't go there, instead take a parcel from here and better eat in car or somewhere else...The rates are somewhat comparable to the top ranked nihari's...Though they claim 1 plate of nihari to be 100 and bheja (very less quantity) Rs 100 and nalli too of Rs 100....But for one person Rs 150 rated plate would be sufficient...If going with additional toppings of Nalli and Magaz(bheja), expect it to be Rs 100 more....One advice for kallu Nihari, if they invest a little bit on their infrastructure their sales will be at least 10 times more...
Honestly if Nihari’s of Haji Sabrati & Hotel Hilal are rated 20 then Kallu Nihari will definitely be 21.
They start selling the Nihari at 17:30 hrs & in just one hour or so the game is over.
They do not have a plate portions but sell the dish in the multiples of ₹100.
Nihari for Rs100 plus 2 Khamiri (@Rs5) roti would be sufficient for a average guy.
Do not go by the ambience of the shop as it is quite basic & ordinary as they serve the best Buff Nihari in Delhi. Location is under a Km walk from Delhi Gate Metro station & Google Map leads to correct location.
Having tried nihari at Shabrati, haaji noora and Javed, famed Kallu nihari had been eluding from my list for a long time. Kallu has been serving nihari for many years and has gained reputation as one of the best places to try nihari in Delhi.
Mcd parking is easily available in front of delight cinema. Its an easy 5 minutes walk through the bustling lanes of old delhi.
the locals are friendly and helpful, and you can always ask for directions.
We reached by 4:45 pm , the place was deserted. Lull before the storm. Crowd had started to form at 5:05 pm. Deg was opened at 5:15 pm. We were told it gets over in an hour. We were the first in line to be served. They have an adjacent shop with sitting and standing tables.
I must say that the nihari matches the hype.
Nihari is mind blowing, and the atmosphere is authentic and unpretentious. Just be prepared to brave the crowd at Kallu to lay your hands on this masterpiece
Kallu nihari is most arguably the best nihari available in Delhi. It's located in just behind the delite cinema. The nearest metro station would be Delhi gate, from there you can reach kallu nihari by walking. They serve nihari not by plate but amount. For example like 100 rupey ki nihari, 200 ki 500 ki. But 100rs nihari is enough for one person.
They also give 2 khameeri rotis free with 100ra nihari. Their is no sitting arrangement. You either have to take it home (not recommended) or you can eat it while standing in the busy streets.
Absolutely amazing Nihari. The shop starts delivering at exactly 5:30 PM but food lovers are already waiting in line by that time and it gets crowded fast and the shop runs out of Nihari even faster. The whole game is over in under an hour. So be there before time and make sure you understand how to order. The order is not by number of plates but in multiples of 100 rupees.
This hole in the wall eatery is my favorite
Nihari shop in whole of India itself. I have had Nihari from other places in Delhi, Agra, Lucknow, Hyderabad and such, yet this place is my number one option. Reach here early and navigate through the thick crowd for a plate of nihari and khameeri rotti. There was no dining space available for family, you could however use a small room beside the shop to have the food. Its super delicious and worth visiting countless times. Hope you get your plate of nihari and feel equally mesmerized. Food is magic, when the chef is a Magician.🥰😋😋😋😋😍
Amazing amazing taste. The taste of the nihari is really really amazing. I loved it a lot. It is located just at a walkable distance from delite cinema. Drop off from auto or taxi and walk to the shop. Shop starts at 5.30 pm and all nihari got sold by 6 or 6.30 pm. So if you really want to have this great taste, reach before 5.30 pm.
You have to scream in the crowd for your nihari and if you got one, another task is to find a place to eat this nihari. They have arranged a shop where you can stand and eat. But again you have to find place to stand there.
So i recommend this place, if you are a nihari lover. Your hard work to grab the plate will pay you off. You will never regret visiting this place.
Kallu Nihari not to mis when in Delhi. Very tasty and very different . It's available only between 5pm to 6 pm. No branches of this shop.
Kallu Nihari is located behind Delite Cinema on Asaf Ali road. Kallu Nihari is a takeaway which makes truly amazing buffalo Nihari. Basically Nihari is a dish which is slowly cooked overnight for about 3-4 hours to restore the essence of spices & bring out the real taste in strong red meat. Nihari is a dish which is supposed to be eaten on nahar (empty) stomach in the morning because in the morning digestive system is fresh & ready to digest this beefy dish. As far as Kallu Nihari is concerned he makes one of the finest Nihari with Nalli & sells most of it before 5 P.M. This place gets crowded during peak hours. So if you get a car it can be parked in Delite parking.
Walk down the lanes of Old Delhi and go to the tiny hidden corner behind Delite Cinema in Daryaganj, and you’re greeted by a whiff of kebabs cooking over smouldering charcoal. And then you turn to see the warm and fresh khameeri roti being baked in the coal-fired oven. There is a thin veil of smoke and steam in the air and the delicious aroma of spices pull you in. Kallu Nihari in Old Delhi has been serving at this spot for the last 27 years, and they do make the best plate of nihari you’ll ever have.
old is gold .
