Mumbai Matinee is tucked away in one corner of Shahpur Jat, making it slightly difficult to locate. Once you enter, you'll find the ambience, laid back and relaxing. It's a prefect spot to spend a quiet evening. The staff is courteous and friendly. I had the following :
1.Peach Ice Tea - Adequately sweet and Very refreshing.
2.Non veg platter - An assortment of kebabs came sizzling hot on a sizzler plate and a bed of cabbage. They tasted great but could have done with a little more spice.
3.Chilly Cheese Toast - Crisp toasts with melted cheese, onions, tomatoes, green chilly. My favorite from the evening!
4.Vada Pav - The vada came in a soft pav, with chutneys and served as a kickass snack.

Ambience: one of the prettiest places i have ever been to.
Lush green, open horizons, beautiful sunset.. coming to the decor - old classic retro bollywood theme based cafe- which makes u relive the golden era of the 1950s 60s 70s.
Menu on old vinyl records, classic cult cinema posters of movies and bollywood actors adorn this terracotta colored cafe.
Food: ordered chicken lasagna, cold coffee and masala cheese toast. Served hot and fast it was mouth watering and delicious.
Service: i have come here before but the service has improved amazingly.

5/5 everything

The moment you enter shahpur jat parking you will notice this cafe on right.
Amazing location with posters of all old film starts. The shesha menu comes in a form on CD.
Coming to food limited menu which covers almost everything
The taste is food is really nice however the service is a bit slow and they accept only cash.
Another attraction is they play old hind songs

This place is beautiful... Lovely ambience n music.. I absolutely loved the decor .. it was just amazing... Me n my friend tried the Arabiatta sauce n Alfredo sauce chicken pastas... They were fine.. I won't say great but they tasted very much like home made.. didn't give the feels of eating outside.. Also the garlic bread was not good as they used the bread that you get in normal stores n brands like Harvest Gold... It was clearly visible that the effort put in the food wasn't good. But the place.. the seating area n Bollywood music just made me ignore it all. So we ate it all in 700+ Rs. It was a pocket friendly place with great ambience. They need to improve their food quality.

This place is just like a Oasis in dessert of delhi's fast paced life. With an all red and B/W interior, Retro bollywood music and movies screening;their scrumptious food is just like a cherry on the icing. And sply the joyful and friendly attitude of the owner Prateek.

Away from the hustle of Delhi, in the corner of Shahpur Jat, covered in pictures from new and old Hindi Movies , this is the place to be if you are a Bollywood fan.
Covered in Red, the place has old , soft Bollywood music playing in the background, making it an ideal place for a Sunday brunch or to work without disturbance.
The place has an open sitting too with a beautiful view of a small castle like building and a park.,which is rare in Delhi. This place makes you forget you stay in a fast, crowded, loud place like Delhi.
My experience with their food has also been amazing.
I tried the Chicken Risotto and Chimichanga and both the dishes were absolutely delicious. The place is pretty pocket-friendly although the quantity might be a little less than what I expected.
All in all definitely worth a try.

The best thing about the place is the décor. It is a bollywood themed restaurant and if you're a hindi movie buff, then you'll love this place. The cafe is beautifully executed as per the theme. Old bollywood music is also very soothing & relaxing. The food is decent and wont give you a chance to complain. Its also pretty pocket-friendly. Unique place, definitely recommended

If you want to sell anything to the world…add a flavour of Bollywood or sprinkle a dash of Cricket in it..I am sure you it will sell like hot cakes!

Especially when it comes to food, restaurateurs have been experimental and Bollywood theme is catching up like fire ! Having said that if you are a real “film addict” or a sucker for anything filmy, this place is definitely a ‘must visit’. Being in business and getting swooned over by public in their Noida outlet, Mumbai Matinee opens up a brand new restaurant in the busy streets of Shahpur Jat.

It was a rainy day and just the perfect weather to go all mushy and sing Bollywood songs …I was invited for a food review here…it was however a toughie to park my car in those narrow jat-land streets but I was so pleasantly surprised to see this restaurant uniquely placed right in front of Tohfe Wala Gumbad. Let me tell you if you have Bollywood running in your blood, you will just fall in love with the detailing the owners have done to make this place so unique and interesting.

A narrow red curvy ladder takes you up to a part open and part closed outlet with familiar celebrities gazing at you. You will find audio cassettes (that you rarely see in this jet age) neatly decorated around the staircase, walk very carefully especially in monsoons as you might just have to sing “Kahin hum gir na pade” if you miss a step!

The open eating area is interestingly decorated with inverted umbrellas and bright red walls. Walk into the outlet and you will hear the chart-busters and tracks that will take you to the 90’s and 80’s era. Beautifully preserved posters and artefacts and paintings will keep you engrossed. And then you will be handed over a menu which looks like an afternoon daily newspaper.

I loved meeting Co-owner Seep Gambhir who is a Bollywood addict and talked incessantly about her collectables and picture cuttings which she integrated in the decor of this place. You will find table tops dedicated to actors and actresses who played a supporting role in movies and you recognise them by their face but have never bothered to know their names.

After the heavy dose of entertainment industry, lets talk about food. The menu is all Mexican specials with your foot longs, pastas, sandwiches and burgers. We suggest go for Savouries and Mumbai Matinee Special which makes you feel that you are in the sets of a hindi movie. From Bun Makhan with Cutting Chai to Masal cheese toasties, Missel Pau and Keema Kulcha. We tasted these snacky items which was so matching with the weather and the theme.

It had been quite some time since I last tried any place new, Mumbai Matinee was on my list for some time now, after some shopping me and my friend set out to try a new place..wanting to try something different, well after a lot of search thru saket, JNU, kalu Sarai, malviya Nagar, I suddenly remembered seeing this place once with my gf.. tempted to try but couldnt as we were on our back to some place, anyway we immediately agreed to check this place out, I loved the entrance, Christmas lights and long stair case takes clearly to the place, bollywood themed, old 80s songs playing on low volume, great retro decoration, the place is well themed,. We were given the newspared menus.
My friend ordered the Mumbai Matinee special veg pasta.
And I ordered shish taouk.
Food according to me was great.
Pasta was awesome.
Shish was a bit low on quantity given the price.
But was tasty enough.
I really wished they served alcohol. Because the place has that beautiful feel to it, to just enjoy with ur friends have , have a nice relaxing dinner. But maybe the no alcohol thing is what is keeping the charm of the place intact. But never the less great place, I can end up there again anytime soon.
Keep it up

So we went in on a hot Sunday afternoon expecting nothing much from the cafe! I must add it was quite hard to find with no direction boards but it was worth the walk!

From the first look through the stairs you notice the finer details that have been taken care of to match the cafe to the theme-Bollywood! even the grill on the stairs have cassettes put up! The umbrellas, huge sheesha's and the windows and posters will all awe you. The seating both inside and outside is beautiful and comfortable.

We chose to sit inside and to our surprise we had the whole cafe to ourselves! The staff was very prompt and alert even so. We ordered spicy pasta and nachos with drinks and i must say the quality and quantity was excellent! The cheesy pasta with bread and super crispy nachos with toppings were delicious and highly recommended. The drink was a bit too sweet for my taste but went down well the food.

Besides this, the place was hygienic and clean and they let us hang around for a while clicking pictures.

This rare 5 star rating comes not only because of this but also the amazing hospitality we received, the superb experience of eating out and the enjoyment factor attached to the whole place itself!

Kudos to the team!
Cheers:)

Additional marks for music of my choice.
I just love bollywood music specially the retros.
Full bollywood themed place. I wonder where they got these pictures from. Very innovative.
Good food
Nice ambience
The only thing bothers here is services. They have to improve a lot on that. Very very slow service.
But I ignore this point coz of music and ambience. Mudit Verma

Mumbai matinee, the name itself makes the person curious to go there..It is perfectly located and the stairs take you to the purani movies time..It is nicely decorated with the perfect Bollywood feel..the songs played were perfect to go out for a long drive!!! And this is not all..talking about food,we ordered non-veg cheesy nachos with salsa.it was perfectly filled with delicious taste of the salsa..The filling was satisfactory..Then we ordered matinee non-veg club sandwich .the bread was a bit fried..had it been soft then the dish would have been be perfect. great place to go and work too..

After a hectic day and work, I found myself a secret gem, Mumbai Matinee. This is a paradise for Bollywood addicts, which I proudly am. Located near the powerhouse in Shahpur Jat, this is a complete tree house café (just not in wood). You climb up a flight of stairs in a mesh decorated with those 90’s audio cassettes, that ofcourse all of us had at some time and loved playing with them. I started going back to my childhood memory lane from the entry itself. These audio cassettes reminded me of rolling them back with a pencil and the happiness it gave.

Going through the reviews for this place and the picture I kept planning that I'll surely visit sometime soon. Though I couldn't manage to go, I ordered lunch. I asked for veg tacos, primavera pasta, hara bhara kebab and veg footlong. We relished our meal and I would recommend hara bhara kebabs, they tasted great. This just makes me eager to visit Mumbai matinee soon.

Mumbai Matinee - Welcome To The World Of Bollywood......

To be Frank, I was not very impressed by Mumbai Matinee in Noida's Sector 18. But you might say that 'even the new Mumbai Matinee at Shahpur Jat is owned by the same person and has a similar ambience'. However, I would like to argue. This Mumbai Matinee is tough to find and located right behind the 'Tohfe Wala Gumbad', Mumbai Matinee at Shahpur Jat provides for a mesmerizing ambience especially the outside seating area.

A few stairs of climbing and you enter a place which drips in red with Bollywood all over the place. Portraits, trivias and photographs of Bollywood movies and personalities fills the place. The inside ambience has two mics dangling down and it so reminds you of Mithun Da's ' I Am a Disco Dancer'. The tables and even the tissue holders have a touch of Bollywood in them. But when we say Bollywood, Mumbai Matinee cares less for the modern era of the film industry and deals with the 1990s cinema and cinema before that.

The soothing music fills the place and you could only please yourself by spending more of your time here. Right in front of the dining area is the live kitchen where the men are at work. The staff is courteous and very comforting. They let you take in the ambience and enjoy the place as much as you please.

In terms of food, Mumbai Matinee's menu does seem a bit brief. Though the menu includes good variety of dishes, their Foot Long and Risotto are world class. For this particular visit, we had the Stuffed Mushroom and the Chicken Crispers along with Roohafza Milk.

To start with, Stuffed Mushroom was mind boggling. Delicious, crispy, cheesy and mouth-watering. You will be left with praises for this one.

Chicken Crispers was a plate of Chicken Fingers served with hot fries and mustard mayo sauce. With eight pieces of chicken fingers, Chicken Crispers is enough to fill two. Must Order.

The Milk Roohafza was pretty tasty. It reminded me of my younger days when I actually had a similar drink on regular basis.

The Vada Pav at Mumbai Matinee is another much talked about Delicacy and you can try it on your next visit.

Mumbai Matinee is a fine place for a perfect date. Or just bring your parents along and let them relive the Bollywood era that has gone by. While Mumbai Matinee pleasantly impress you with the food, the prices too are light on the pockets.

For two dishes and two drinks, we were charged with 750 bucks which is astounding. At the moment, Mumbai Matinee does not charge any tax due to its new arrival.

I hope the place gets good share of visitors and Mumbai Matinee turns into a successful venture. For a Bollywood lover like me, Mumbai Matinee was a delight.

Food : 4.5/5

Ambience : 4.5/5

Service : 4/5

Value For Money - 4.5/5

Overall - 4.5/5

Cost For Two - 1000

Note : Mumbai Matinee is placed at the right place though it is not easily visible to all. The place is beautiful, away from the chaos. Makes you love Bollywood even more. Come visit the place and savour Bollywood along with an equally amazing dining experience. Must visit.

A nice little place to satisfy your midnight hunger with good old 70s music. Theme of the place aptly justifies the name.

So, Today. Me and my colleagues went to this place, I was psyched for this, coz I love Bollywood. And to be honest. What a place, it's just so near to my Office. It was a great experience, such a relaxing scene. Huge place, first of all. The music, OMG. Literally 70-90's classic Bollywood music playing!! Haha you'll feel as if it's AIR FM Radio :P
Coming to the food. I ordered cheesy chicken naachos with tortilla dip. It was amazing, very delicious. And also had a Mango Smoothie, that was just. YUMMM !! I loved it more than the naachos. A big big thumbs up to the place, must go if you're in Shahpur Jatt. I've my office there, I'm so lucky :P
Location wise it's awesome, there's this Panchsheel Park right in front of the cafe, it looks amazing in the night.

While roaming at Shahpur Jat a Designers village of Delhi, I was lucky enough to stumble upon this Bollywood theme based Cafe. I was looking for what options I had at Shahpur Jat.

I asked what the vegan options were and was pleasantly surprised! The Vegetable  Au Gratin is without a doubt the best thing I've tasted in WEEEEEEEEEKS! I cannot wait until next weekend so I can stock up on these to get me through the weekdays.

Also, all the goods are nicely packaged so that you can take them home. Most important ambiance is superb. If you are a 90's kid you must have to visit this place with your loved one..
