The two hours spent here was most relaxing, got the steps in too. Lots of photography scope and as an artist, the colours, shapes and patterns are just breathtaking. Clean, calm, civilised, welcoming surroundings. Foreigner ticket of 700 rupees about £7 sterling was definitely worth it. Loved it

A giant mosque sits on a hill in Old Delhi, with views of the city unlike anywhere else. Marble and maximal use of red sandstone, vibrant and earthy, used for the vast courtyard, outer walls, halls, and minarets of which you can climb to the 40m balcony. A moment of calm when you exit the bustle of the Old Delhi streets allows you to appreciate the architecture.

Once we enter we first have to take off our shoes, not that well maintained so the floors are pretty nasty although no one entering with shoes. However the surrounding walls were something else with detailing architecture. Including wind catcher on top to cool the surrounding areas inside. It was a bomber that I didn’t go to the top of the tower for from what I’ve heard it was amazing.

It is a good place for prayer 🕌 Entry is free. Take care of your shoes 👟 Do not enter wearing shoes. If you stand on the steps, you can see all the hustle and bustle of the market. From here you can also see Red. The mosque is very beautiful. You will love the architecture .

Beautiful place. Austere, serene, balanced. Gentle atmosphere (though some staff is less than charming). Price of access for foreigners - as usual - is discriminatory and unfair.

What beautiful architecture. Really good architecture. Even though the streets are congested, but that is the beauty of jama masjid. The food stalls nearby are heavenly. One of the best Street food places to visit in entire India.

It is one of the oldest & most historical mosques in India. This mosque was built in the Mughal period and at that time, it was the imperial mosque of the Mughal emperors. Now, the place is open for all kinds of people. Everyone can enter here without any ticket. But, before entering the mosque you need to remove the shoes. As, muslim peoples are praying here. In prayer time, visitors are not allowed to the main mosque area. Other times, everyone can visit the main area. The ablution is located right in the middle of the mosque.

Entry is free. Be mindful of your shoes. Do not enter with your footwear. Don't forget to view Red Fort from here. It's a view to remember. From the main gate, if you stand on the stairs.. you can see all the hustle bustle of the market. The mosque is a beauty. You'll love the architecture. It's visible from nearby places so you won't find it difficult to get here. Enjoy.

Having recently visited Jama Masjid in Delhi, I was left awe-struck by the sheer beauty and historical significance that this iconic monument holds. As a student eager to learn about India's rich heritage, stepping into the courtyard of Jama Masjid felt like taking a step back in time. The first thing that caught my eye was the breathtaking architecture that defines Jama Masjid. The intricately designed minarets, adorned with delicate carvings and patterns, soared into the sky, giving the monument an air of majesty. Every step I took on the smooth, red sandstone floor only served to magnify the grandeur of this architectural marvel. Entering the central prayer hall was an experience like no other. The hall's interior boasted a mesmerizing display of intricate artistry and architectural brilliance. The sheer size of the hall, combined with the delicate design elements, left me in awe. To truly appreciate the beauty of Jama Masjid. The view from the top was nothing short of spectacular! The bustling streets of Delhi sprawled out before me, while the serene ambience of Jama Masjid provided a stark contrast. It was a sight that will forever be etched in my memory. Jama Masjid isn't just a monument; it's a living testament to India's rich cultural heritage and the enduring legacy of Mughal architecture. I highly recommend this iconic monument to anyone who wishes to delve into the history and magnificence of India's cultural heritage. e

Jama Masjid, located in Delhi, is a captivating architectural marvel. Constructed in the 17th century, it boasts intricate Mughal design, featuring red sandstone and white marble. The grand courtyard accommodates thousands, enhancing the spiritual experience. The colossal prayer hall houses splendid domes and minarets, showcasing the opulence of Mughal architecture. Climbing the minaret offers a panoramic view of Old Delhi. However, maintenance challenges exist, and the busy surroundings may affect the serene atmosphere. Despite this, Jama Masjid stands as a testament to India's rich cultural heritage, attracting both worshippers and tourists seeking historical and spiritual enlightenment.

This is one of the oldest mosques in india. Very good structure. It's astonishing to see the width of the building wall. I would recommend you to visit this place. There are many restaurants besides. You can also try the test of the raw Delhi food.

This Mughal era mosque is still the largest in India. We approached from the market, there are some steep steps to climb. At the top you need to leave your footwear (our tour guide payed the correct bribe to ensure they were still there after our visit). You can walk inside and take pictures and there are fine views of the red fort and lots of kites and pigeons (which are fed by the locals).

It is really a great mosques, with beautiful architecture and I am amazed how they have managed to carve designs and put on the ceiling and walls, like they are not falling. There was not much to explore only the centre mosque and Minar that’s it. If you want to climb the Minar you will have to buy 200₹ ticket. But I think the community or people who are managing mosque doesn’t maintain it well like they are just keeping it as it is no upgrade or maintenance, which i think is really not great to see. Water pool in the centre is completely dirty and algae water you cannot even do wazu there if you want to, some people where doing wazu there but I don’t recommend anyone instead you can do wazu at the water tap you will find it easily. This is become long so, this is it.Visit once it would be a great experience for you.

This stunning mosque is located in Old Delhi. Considered to be one of the largest and most important mosques of India, it is almost entirely made of red sandstone and white marble. It is truly an architectural marvel. Make sure to open your shoes before entering and don't just leave them anywhere.Your legs may burn during afternoon cuz no shoes. There are carpets alloted to walk on to prevent burns . I recommend visiting during the evening when it becomes cool. Pro tip- Climb on top of the minarets to get breathtaking views of Delhi. Best to visit in the evening and that too in winters. A real religious place with utmost divinity but everyone regardless of religion can come and visit the place. The interior of the mosque is equally mesmerizing, with its high ceilings adorned with delicate Islamic calligraphy, and intricately designed arches that add to its grandeur. The view from the top of the tower is breathtaking and provides an unobstructed view of the cityscape. The mosque itself is beautiful, one of the main attractions of Old Delhi. Good place to learn about religion, history, culture. All in all, Jama Masjid is a must visit for anyone seeking beauty, peace and spiritual inspiration. It is a true masterpiece of Islamic architecture and a testament to the rich cultural heritage of India. I highly recommend visiting this mosque and immersing yourself in its serene atmosphere. You can also relish food and sweets from the restaurants opposite the mosque which are famous for their taste. Best to visit in the evening and that too in winters. A real religious place with utmost divinity but everyone regardless of religion can come and visit the place.
