Best road side dhaba I ever visited. Best place to go in night with friends & family. Must try Butter chicken & mashroom masala. Now this is my fav. Place to dine in.
This is truly a hidden gem.
It is a dhaba in the true sense of the word with makeshift seating.
The food, however, is amazing. Both veg and non veg options are available at extremely affordable rates.
The mutton too is very well cooked, soft and coupled with amazingly thick gravy.
They also have Masala soda- which is also a good option.
I would say this place is a hidden gem for all who wants to get good food at reasonable prices.. We tried Daal Handi, paneer lababdar and paneer tikka masala with butter roti and butter naan..all dishes were very tasty ..sufficient quantity as well..but must visit in night to avoid the heat of afternoon..

Head straight to Ashish Lal Dhaba. There are another dhabas in the same area as well, but make sure that you are into the right one.
The best roadside dhaba for North India food I have ever tried. Their price is very reasonable and staff is very polite and helping as well.

Often landed here for food as it is close to my office and I would say, this place is value for money. Although you can't expect a fine dining experience in this roadside shack but food is definitely fine and a respite in most times when you want good food. Try out the paneer bhurji and roghan josh, besides the stuffed paranthas that most people come here for.
Great place located at the roadside and really impresses you with its great taste of food. Special recommendation "Keema Mutton" and i also like the attitude and way of talking of the shop owner. If you are going their then you should a little bit compromise with hygiene thats all must go and try something, you will definitely love it.

Went to ashish Lal dhabha yesterday evening with friends it was crowded all the tables were taken had to wait a bit, we ordered Dal makhni, paneer Lababdar and mutton Lababdar. Paneer and mutton were good in taste, mutton was well cooked and tender and quantity was enough.Dal makhni was just about ok. Do come and visit this place.
It's a nice place. Talking about the ambience and the sitting , it's like any other dhaba. It's at the road side so it's not that good but it's ok ok. But if I talk about food, then it's the place for it. Quantity nd quality both are good service time is also fine staff is also polite. And the best thing about the place is PRICE. You don't need to check the price list again and again before ordering.

Awesome food. Mostly I eat Chicken. So had Keema Chicken and Lemon 🍋 Chicken 🍗 these both were like finger licking, would suggest everyone to go and enjoy the North Indian dishes.
Went there with a friend for lunch. It's a road side dhaba so don't expect much luxury. It will be really hard to have food there in hot summers. They had quite a good number of guests. We ordered each quarter of Mutton Lababdar, Keema Kaleje and plain roti's. Food quantity was really generous. Thumbs up for that. Food was really good but spices were on milder side. The good thing about this joint is the price. Our bill was just Rs. 405/-. I recommend this joint for anyone who wants toh have a good lunch at cheap price.

This place is saviour for the students of Vikram Nagar. The food is pretty decent and they deliver as well. Dishes are of good quantity and quality. Order Pelli Dal and chawal, it's delicious. The food is cheap, so it's pocket friendly.
I had dal makhani, paneer tikka masala and chicken curry. The chicken curry was delicious and the best out of all the three. Authentic dhaba food and very decently priced. It's a great place to eat when on a small budget.
This is my all time favorite place if I ever think about dhaba wala style khana have been there n number of times . 😋 you pick any main course like be it chana masala, shahi paneer or in non-veg like chicken butter masal or mutton curry they will never disappoint you with taste . And I am amazed with the service! in a jiffy you order is on the table. 👌🏻

Surrounding :- Nothing much to write home about. just nestled in a nice little corner at Kotla Marg. there are around 4 shops in a line. two are Dhabas with the Name Ashish Lal and perhaps two of Soft drink or somthing like that. they have placed plastic chairs and Tables outside for people who would like to sit and eat which btw is pretty high. i generally prefer to pack the food and have it at home. the overall hygeine and cleanliness around is questionable.
Food:- the biggest draw is its food and its really good but in parts. the Tandoori Murg is as good as any Dhaba in delhi. nothing great. infact the marination isn't as good. Lemon chicken is passable and its just average. though i have never tried the veg menu but have heard great things about Dal and Malai Kofta. where it actually shines is 'Keema Mutton'. its straight from heaven. the quantity is good and with 220/- you can have 4 succulent pieces of mutton with its amazing gravy. infact the gravy alone has fetched that additional star. believe you me, you need to have this wonderful meal to understand why this place is a newfound patrons delight.
Food was ok , they have same box for quarter and half quantity , they only increase the pieces but as a gravy lover I don't like it.

The beauty of this place is malai kofta. The gravy is extremely well made. The koftas with paneer inside the gravy is outstanding. It serves comfortably for two people

If you love street food and are found of eating try this dhabha, if I am in Delhi I always try and eat one meal here, you can try there Dal Makhani, Butter Naan, Pindi Chana, Chan Masala, Rajma, Chicken Curry, Keema Kaeji Rice etc. etc... They also deliver to nearby offices, moreover owner and the person who serves ensures that you get the best service and quality. This place is light on your pocket and if you are coming to pick your car from parking after a day & night match at Feroz Shah Kotla try this place out. I am sure you will not regret eating out at this location.

This place was at one time known as Express Dhaba, being situated bang opposite to the Print offices of the Indian Express newspaper. That was before the police shifted it to across Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg to its new place on Kotla Marg.
FOOD is why you would come here, crossing the busy roads from ITO. I do that, having my office in nearby ITO which is gastronomically parched of such options. Unnecessary info : You can catch me here every friday around 2-3 PM.
One of my colleagues introduced me to the delicious . The menu is classic dhaba. There's every possible chicken, mutton and parantha preparation you can hope to come across at a place like this. However, you should know food here basks here in all its oily, greasy, gravy riddled glory.
So, if you have issues with that, stay away. Good thing is I don't.
That's why I dive for the Keema Mutton every time. Have had the opportunity to try the Lemon Chicken and the Kadhai Chicken too. All dishes taste that special level of good which you can only get at roadside dhabas. Paranthas also deserve special mention, especially the missi roti.
You can also try the veg here, but then again.. It'll be a waste of Ashish Lal's inimical talent of preparing Non Veg.
AMBIANCE. Its essentially open air seating with 4-5 plastic tables, arranged neatly with four chairs each, occupying almost 10 feet of the road running in front. However, the plastic chairs are clean :I
SERVICE is prompt and old patrons treated with especially well. PRICES are average. It's actually a very good bargain considering how few and far between any kinds of places to eat are in the area.
Chakraborty Tip : There are 2-3 other dhabas just adjoining it who have decided to hijack Ashish lal Dhaba's fame pass it off as their own. One has even put up a board with the same name. Highly suggested you visit the real one. Ask someone in the area, for the correct one. Otherwise, it is the 2nd dhaba when you enter kotla marg from Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg.

The food in terms of both quality n quantity is not awesome but is surely above average. Service is quick. I can't talk of ambience here.
Located on footpath with some plastic chairs n table , u have to sit in open adjacent to the road to enjoy ur meal n traffic 😉

Try khoya paneer n kadhai paneer ,i liked them the most.
U can't take someone on date here ,but u can definetly enjoy with ur frends here at a very affordable rate.
Okay so this place might not be the best place to dine in but you can always get the food packed and enjoy it at home later on because the food is worth a try. Both vegetarian and non vegetarian dishes here are delicious. Paneer lababdar and chicken lababdar are simply amazing.

This dhaba provides you with good food at a price not harsh on the pocket. The ambience is typically of a 'dhaba' being located roadside just opposite Maulana Azad Medical College.
For service I would give 4/5. The food was not overloaded with spices and tasted nice. The order was also processed quickly without much delay.

Well this place offers some seriously tasty and spicy food and that too at an awesome price. Everything they serve is great, be it daal, paneer or chicken. And chicken being the best thing.

Coming to ambience, as the name suggests the word dhaba obviously implies something open and yes it is an open place. But then that is the part. No walls, no roofs, no fancy furniture and decor but then it is the best part as you sit under the moonlit sky with trees on your side and few cars going, that surely makes a very unique and calm ambience which you'll love.
And then the pricing is unbelievably low.

I would give it a four star coz its one of the place which is pocket friendly and tasty as well. Its a dhaba so you can't expect it to be an exquisite one but definitely its one of the saviour for hostelers like me. And those who have had food from here won't differ. Its a dhaba and the food is very nice and pocket friendly. They have outdoor sitting only. And specially, in winters it feels even more good to sit outside feeling the cold wind and having the hot food.
