Grown up in Delhi, surrounded by Punjabis and Baniyas, Every year I celebrate Lohri with my neighbours eating gajak, rewari, jaggery, ground nuts and having garam garam chai (hot tea), dancing and end up having lot of fun.This year, I have decided to treat my neighbours. And for this treat.. Frontier Biscuits has solved my problem by introducing a hamper for Lohri.

Frontier Biscuit Factory was established in 1921. From small production unit in Sadar Bazar, It is now being recognized as a leading manufacturer of ‘Eggless Premium Biscuits’. Talking about the Lohri Hamper, I have received Special Gajak, Special Chikki, Special Rewari, Winter Special Jaggery Biscuits and Frontier Tea.

Chikki

Made up of Jaggery, Peanuts, Raisin, Grated Coconuts; Chikki is full of natural sweet flavour along with crunch of Peanuts. Chikki from Frontier is great in taste with sweetness balanced with the flavour of raisin and coconut. Chikki for me comes under the category of anytime munching and a quick solution for small hunger.

Rewari

My mother always says, Don’t count on what you eat. Rewari is one of them. Made with Jaggery, Sesame Seeds and Elachi, Rewari is a great option for people who loves to munch continuously. I am sure noone can settle for one or two, a handful of rewari on lohri is a must.

Gajjak

A traditional punjabi food made up of Jaggery and Sesame Seeds, is another sweet dish to celebrate festival. Gajjak are more crisp and sweet. My neighbours serves Gajak with Dark Chocolate Sauce which is something different and have never seen this anywhere.

Winter Special Jaggery Biscuits

Cripsy, Crunchy, Sweet Jaggery with Muching Sesame Seeds and Pistachio are great in taste and is there everyday on my table along with my Tea. This biscuits does not contain any other form sweetness. They are more in the form of Cookies with less of guilt. Wheat Flour based without artificial sugar are great to accompany with Tea.

Tea

Who says ‘No’ to adrak wali kadak garam chai (Ginger flavor Hot Tea) in winters? Tea is a must in everyday’s list from the time winter strikes. The best part about Lohri is Gur wali Chai ((Jaggery flavor Tea). Jaggery helps in keeping body warm and the natural sweet taste from jaggery never fails.
