Honest Opinion..
It's a name that has been synonymous with "Gulab Jamun" since childhood and that is pretty much it..
The Gulab Jamuns are to die for, The best that one can get in the whole world (if you like plain, unfilled Gulab Jamuns nothing gets better than this)!
The dry small Jamuns (Black, white, brown) are also a delight and you just can't stop at one.
Poori Chole are a bit different from other places and are just about OK.
Winters find a lot of people going for the Gajar ka halwa but not a personal favorite.
Other than this... I can't say much. I would recommend this sweet shop only for the above and not much for anything else.
Nice place for desi snacks like pakodas gol gappa dahi papdi chat etc.
Cholle bhature+lassi(good breakfast place)
Gulab jamun is mouth watering.
This place is famous for their mouth watering chole bhature and lassi. One of the oldest restaurant in Rajendra nagar.
Also, their mithais are worth trying.
The preparations are if ghee at this place. The quality of food is also good. This place is very old in the vicinity and is originally famous for it's mouth melting gulab jamuns and paneer pakodas. Their gulab jamuns r just out of the world. Also, this place serves luchi chole but only in navratris. The same are lil expensive but worth a try.
It's an old food joint in Old Rajinder Nagar. Reasonably priced, and good quantity. I especially like their Aloo Tikki and sweets. They slightly overcharge for their Panipuri (Golgappe), charging 30 bucks for 5 Puris.
Overall, it's a recommended food joint if you're nearby to check out typical Delhi food.
I love this place since childhood chole poori are the best here with their lassi and the fav. Part is the mango achaar. I have never had such achar in my life its so different !!! Yummy food and the gulab jamun in dessert is must to eat!
A small food joint selected randomly.. and Food turmed out good. You can try puri cholle ,North indian (paneer) , combos, platter ( chinese). It is totally not heavy on pocket
I've been having the much acclaimed Gulab Jamuns from Peshawar Sweet Bhandar since forever. The place has been an integral part of all our celebrations as we always get sweets from here.
However, their Gulab Jamuns' quality has taken a bit of a hit. Their consistency varies unlike the Gulab Jamuns of like 5 years ago. Other than the Gulab Jamuns they also offer a variety of other traditional Indian sweets.
Other than sweets, the place also offers delicious Bhature Chhole for breakfast. This is something I make sure to have on every trip I take to Delhi.
They have also opened a dine-in restaurant on the first floor but I've not yet been in there. I'll update my review if and when I go there.
Overall a great place to get all the North Indian traditional sweets and a sumptuous breakfast.
It’s located in rajinder nagar market and i have been eating from there for years now..One of the best sellers there is their ras malai and chole pudi and various other dishes
The staff is friendly and price is reasonable..The quality of the food is very and sweets is good..they are fresh and tastes good..it’s a good overall experience
Heaven for sweet lovers ....
Large variety of sweets.
Must try rasmalai ,rabadi, gulabjamun, Gujiya (seasonal) , and petha.
Other sweet also fresh and well stored.
Chat also good..
Gulab Jamun and gajjar halwa are best in class. Morning chole puri is superb to have. Surely I would love to visit peshawar sweets shop again and again.
Great value to money food.
Good and quick Service :)
The food was fresh, properly prepared and a great value for the price. We highly recommend it. The breakfast was equally as good.
must try Chole bhature and gajar halwa
Nice place to have snacks in the evening....and must stop place to satisfy your need for delicious sweets, specially Gulab Jamun, they are among one of the best in delhi.
Must say...they have a variety of sweets and deserve a place to be in one of the best sweet shop in the area.
One of oldest Sweet shop in delhi ..Best Gulab jamun for sure in entire India... It's a must try and rest of the menu like Samosa and Puri chole especially are too good for Sunday morning breakfast :)
This sweet shop in New Rajinder Nagar is more than 60 years old. My parents used to have sweets from this place when they were kids and the taste hasn't changed a bit. The best thing to try in this sweet shop is ras malai & gulab jammun. The mouth watering taste of ras malai would make you feel like heaven. The only con of this place is they don't have much sitting arrangements.
best alu tikki in evening, best chat papdi during the day.. and yes, variety of samosas.. i personally like their chole, which they serve with tikki and puri and bhatore.. small area to sit but best for take away.. its better than sindhi, which is another sweet shop on Shankar road.. if you are looking for sweets, go for sindhi.. if food, peshawar is the best.
Definitely the best Puri Chole in Rajinder Nagar and the lassi can not be missed. They still used the hand drawn mechanism to make lassi! Achar is also nice :)
Best place to Have Puri Chole on a Sunday Mornings. Does not use or serve onions though. But there Puri Chole is actually very yummy. Can wait for the next sunday
Some food places should be given award for carrying the tradition . Peshawar sweet is one of them . Situated on Shanker road is a landmark.. Sweets prepared are fresh and good .sham di burfee too good . They prepare poori with wheat aata not maida ...
And the pickle they give with it tastes the same it used to be 35 years back .
There should be a section in zamato like tradition savers . Peshawar sweets definitely deserves a place in it ..
Best is Gulab jamun piping hot to try in winters..
This is one of the oldest sweet shop survived in Central delhi serving sweets and some traditional snacks. I go here for there puri cholle and liked them which are better then of those sold by big names in the in and around market. I will keep on going here and would suggest to the people in central delhi to try it some day.
Everyone has their own opinions about the best Gulab jamun, some say Amritsar some say Kolkata but I have had Gulab jamun at various locations around India but Jo maza is GJ mein hai vo aur kahi nahi, this one is from Peshawar Sweet Bhandar on Shankar Road Rajender nagar
#GJLOVE
#CARKHANA
Like every area has their own few specials PESHAWAR IS TO RAJINDER NAGAR.from its breakfast menu of poori Chana to its special Gulab jammuns(recommended) nothing too fancy still a place to check out sometime.
A really old sweet shop of the area and very well known for their sweets.
They serve one of the best gulab jamuns in town and I swear by it. They are really soft and warm and utterly delicious. In terms of sweets, their plain barfi is really good. This is in fact one of the most liked sweets of this shop and so is their ras malai. The sweets are moderately sweetened and thats what I like about this place.
Their tikki chhola is very different from hat other places might be serving. The tikki is stuffed with chana dal and is bland in taste however the chhola are spiced up like anything. The chilli quotient is NIL though but still it is a must try dish from this outlet. Their golgappas are also good.
Literally the best chhole pooris. I've ever eaten. I've been going to this place since more than a decade and my my. Nothing has changed / with a great emphasis on quality / but the pricing which, too is considerable cheap and a bang on value for money.
MUST TRY THE CHHOLE POORI and the lassi they serve here. The gol gappe the serve at evenings are moderately fine too. Do try!
Being punjabis, we never settled for low quality dairy products. Fortunately, peshawari does not offer an extraordinary experience, the purity still exists, which is a great USP.
Sweets are better than Agarwal’s and bikaner here in Rajendra nagar and worth the cost and tasty too. Great place for that sweets cravers and lovers! Cost little on higher note
Have been going to this sweet shop ever since I was a kid, now run by the third generation of the peshori family. Trust me the gulab jamun are perhaps the best that you would have ever eaten, so tender it just melts in own mouth. Also the poori chole with a unique mango pickle served in the breakfast are exceptional .. Won't find this taste n quality any where else atleast in Delhi ;)
Peshawar sweets is a very old shop run by a peshawari family. they are famous for their barfi , called as shaam ki barfi. which is essentially a khoya burfi. they serve usual sweet shop items , sweets , snacks, lassis , poori chole etc. their poori chole is one dish which attracts a lot of people. its a different prepartion , cholas are not the spicy punjabi style , but different , subtle in flavours and spices however, no way i can say they are bad, its just different , well made. the poori's are big and well fluffed enjoy it with their achaar and lassi and you can have a good time at breakfast....
One of the best Samosas available in the locality...!!! And those GolGappas (Completely Hygienic)
Advice :Just make sure to have variety if snacks available all the time
Sometimes have to return empty handed coz Samosas or kachodis are not ready
Best gulab jamun in delhi &puri chole the evening snaks like smosa paneer pkora &aloo tikki spl sham di burfee rabhri rasmali &all kinds of bengoli sweets
One just can't afford to miss them as they were selected best gulabjamuns in delhi in year 2011-12..(or 2012-13) and they are at par with their price..20/- piece...that's it.
Had chole puri..its 50/- plate and tasted well.
Best Gulab Jamun and Gol Gappe in Rajinder Nagar. Gajar ka halwa is not bad either. Choley Puri at breakfast time are absolutely delicious.
The sweet shop located on shankar road is perhaps one of the oldest shop in the market. I have been seeing this shop since my birth. Earlier it used to look very bad but since it went renovation it has become an attractive sweet shop the ambience and sitting is good. The sweets are tasty but a bit high price but the best thing you could have here is the GULAB JAMUN the best in the DELHI there is no match of there gulab jamun in whole of DELHI. The softness is like that it melts in the mouth as it is taken in and makes the experience wonderful. P.s. none of the meal is complete without there gulab jamun. But the above all you could find the hot gulab jamun even in summers which is rarer to find in delhi
Best gulab jammun . its located on the main shaker road market ( New Rajendra nager) . if your are in the vicinity . one should try the warm , delicious gulab jammuns .
Oh well.. what I can say here.. It is a shop that has been here since over 4 decades.. or may be more. I have been eating here since 3. They have always bettered their quality and maintained prices as far as possible. The service is good and fast. The man behind the counter is mature and kind. His father and uncle used to be behind the counter couple of years ago. Many things have changed here since he took over. New look, better seating, renovated interiors, cleanliness quotient went up.. etc. You should try.. RasMalai, Gulab Jamun and chole bhature.
Situated very near to my residence in the domestic market of Shankar road.
I usually stop here to have their famous Khandvi and it melts inside your mouth at the moment you have a bite of it.they have a pretty decent variety of chat snacks, and to top it all, they have an inside sitting area too. The only criteria where the place looses some points is the service and behaviour of the staff and the owner, a bit rude but the quality covers it to some extent
I would only recommend you to have gulab jamuns here. They are one of the best in delhi. Located on shankar road next to puma. Not to fancy place , a normal place with normal facilities. The Gulab Jamuns are just out of the world. You must try them they may sound a bit expensive but after having them you wont regret the bill.
Do try them out they are worth a try ..!!
Starts serving up really tasty and hot Puri Chole at 7:30am for the typical punjabi Sunday breakfast, which i personally love :D
Having started off as just a delivery unit and sweets shop, over the years due to its excellent quality and service, Peshawar sweets has become Peshawar Sweets Shop. Now having a seating of around 20-24 people, there is adequate seating till the time the breakfast of lunch time starts, coz that time you need to wait alot to get a seat, but the wait is seriously worth it :D
The most amazing thing about Peshawars is their aachar, which is on the table already. Its a basic raw mango pickle, but unlike any other that you get in the market. its not like your regular dry aachar, rather is liquid and by far really yummy and tangy ;D
While eating the Puri chole, you'll feel that they are really light, but 20 odd mins after you finish, it starts to settle in your tummy and then is the time you realize that you won't even feel the need to have lunch.
All in all, a place must for a visit. Cheers!
It was so sweet to see on the internet Peshawar sweet in Delhi. Peshawar ab bhi ap ka hai, we love you and we are proud of you. I wish one day when i come to Delhi, i will come to Peshawar Sweet.
Regards

PESHAWAR - PAKISTAN
One of best Gulabjamun and
Samosas in Delhi. Oldest sweetshop of Rajinder Nagar.
Must try their Chole bhature, Samosas and gulab jamun.
Have tried the gulabjamuns- a must try item which melts in mouth. Rest have tried the shakar paras and gur-paras, tikki, golgappas-the usual taste like every other shop
Excellent eatery steeped history and quite a trigger for one's gastronomic delight. Three brothers have ably managed this outlet with mouthwatering options. Now into its third generation as a representative foodie I only hope that the tradition is upheld.
Excellent stuff! better than the kinds of Haldirams which are all machine made and automated.
For the tasty poori chole, this is the fine place in this area. Reasonable price of Rs 50 per plate is worth eating. Avoid sweets
Its probably Delhi's best Gulab Jamuns! Must Must try!
Famous for their several traditional sweets like Gulaab Jamun, Poori Chana for breakfast, they are one of the renowned sweet shop in Rajinder Nagar.
This place had a variety of sweets I had tried many of them but my reccomendation is ther rasogulla and chum chum.
Now in snacks their panipuri and tikki are also very nice.
Must try
Fresh and very different sweets, had the Dhoda and Gulab Jamun rabri(its such a different concept)
One of the best besan burfi i hv ever eaten
