Everything was amazing. Usually I don't like south Indian food, but dosas here are amazing!!. Bombay dosa tastes like pizza and is filled with cheese. Mysore dosa is so light and delcious , it has layer of chilly garlic sauce and wow it tastes so good. Idly and uttapam were average. But dosas here are amazing!!
amazing food for breakfast near india gate
Cheap, value for money, neat and raat food
It's a very small restaurant with limited seating. You may end up sharing seats as well. The whole vibe of the place is very welcoming.
The food is just fantastic especially the pakoras and filter coffee.
I talked to the owner. It's a common hangout place for cyclists especially on a weekend. There are some pics of the groups that frequent the place.
Would definitely recommend coming here
Want some tasty and pocket friendly south Indian khaana, toh aur kahi nahi jaana. Visit Mysore Cafe for some scrumptious food.
🔸Mysore Pak, amazing sweet dish
🔸Idli, soft with coconut chutney and Sambhar was just perfect.
🔸Onion Masala Dosa, so crispy and filled with onion masala, and served with coconut chutney and Sambhar.
🔸Set Dosa, this was a new item for me which was just amazing.
🔸 Coffee and Tea were just the perfect beverages.
This cafe is very authentic and the ambience is very pleasing. Staff is very courteous.
Food-5/5
Service-5/5
Its a typically south indian food restaurant.
All items are tasty and cost effective. Spl dosa and coffee are the best ☝️
Mostly people working nearby will go there .
And here is a gem which serves delicious south indian food and is not well known. Finally we visited this place and loved everything we ate. Upma was so full of flavours and was so different then what we usually get at other restraunts just for ₹50. Then we had bombay dosa and what a delicay it was. Usually we do not like combination of cheese and dosa but they had incorporated cheese so well that we couldnt stop munching. The dosa was so heavily filled .These two items are a must try.

superb food. very pocket friendly rates. good portion size. cozy ambience. polite staff. santosh very active staff. hidden gem. tasty food. mysore paak filter coffee must try. all dosa good.
True value for money, kind of South Indian food. Apt for an after workoutquuck bite.... I liked the upma n vada
The coconut chutney is s a bit floury, but that's how the taste Vrues with any south In dian joint.
I had heard pretty much a lot about this place hence wanted to try their food since a very long time. I ended up here at 10 to grab a quick breakfast. I ordered Vada, Masala Dosa and Veg Uttapam. Everything that I had here was cooked to pefection; the dosa was pretty crisp and the masala stuffed was sauted well in the required herbs and spices; the uttapam was something that I relished the most. However the vadas were served cold and on asking the waiter told that they makes and stock idli and vadas for the day. The food was pocket friendly and they also had sweets like Balushai and Mysore Pak. I also tried the pakoras which were made of rice flour and stocked again so they were cold. Had it been hot I would have gulped plates on plates.
My total bill: Rs 190
Taste: At par
Service: 4/5
Ambience: A little cosy place that might make you wonder if you should eat here or not but don't judge the book by the outer cover
Am I returning: Yes especially because they open at 7:30 in the morning.
Mysore cafe one of the great cafe i ever had a visit and early morning visit had made it more special.
One of the greatest samber i ever had ..
Though the service was not that good but thats ok when u are geting the best taste ..
And last but not the least we had a visit at 7am so they had a fresh samber and idli and wada which giving more good taste ..
Must visit once!!
best place for eat authentic south indian food must try masala dosa and idli sambhar i visit this place from last 10 years still the taste is same and best
Small place but packs a punch, lovely Authentic South Indian cuisine and the best part is they start early, a heaven for cyclists, mouth watering Upma and lovely filter coffee is what I ordered and absolutely devoured! Friend ordered Tea but he didn’t like it too much, but I will visit for more surely to try Masala Dosa!
One of my favorite place in Delhi to have a legit south Indian meal as well as an escape from all the hoch-poch and traffic of Delhi.
Tucked away in a pretty place, you have to walk through beautiful greenery filled road to reach here.
My favorite is Bombay Dosa which is whatI like to call "South Indian Calzone".
It's not your mainstream dosa place, the dosa is filled with special bombay masala and cheese.
Yes.
Apart from it you can find aunthentic south indian food here as well. Like paniyaram
Army Camp areas are known for their clean and safe environment and good food.
I cannot agree more to the last two words in the above paragraph.
Mysore Cafe is that place with simple broken tables and chairs but amazing food.
This is an army restaurant. We had dosa, uttapam, sambar and butter milk.
The food was good both quantity and quality wise. Infact I'm that person who doesn't have sambar outside home.
But sambar here was fresh and thick with good amount of vegetables in it.
And all of this at just 200 bucks.
One should definitely visit this place once.
Had visited this place for a quick breakfast after a bicycle ride. Tasted Upma which was served along with coconut chutney and Sambar. The restaurant is a small place with a limited seating capacity but does attract quite a crowd. The upma was really tasty and really reasonable in taste
Delhi is an amazing place to be vegetarian and/ or a foodie. There is always some new place around the corner that surprises us. And in case of Mysore Cafe – literally so. Tucked in one corner of South Avenue Lane Market close to Raisina Hills, the one room cafe is easy to miss. Once inside, what with bench like seats and simple wood tables, menu board hanging on the wall and a sweet box straight out of Malgudi Days, we were taken to another era.
We ate Dosa and Uttapam at Mysore cafe they were just mouth-watering. Also we took chaach and all it cost us was total of ₹ 200. We were just so amaze as we find the best place to eat and that to be near India Gate where all that is available is ice cream or paan. Generally I don't eat sambhar at restaurant but this was so delicious, I guess they just serve the best sambhar in the city.
Authentic south Indian food. Set dosa and filter coffee are must have at this outlet!! Ambience is not that good but the food is! #dosa #coffee #setdosa #
Found this hidden gem for South Indian food lovers. Located in the by-lanes of Lutyen's Delhi, this little cafe brings the taste of Mysore to Delhi. Kept alive and traditional by second generation, Mysore Cafe serves traditional South Indian Food at minimal prices. You won't find any fancy tables or menus at this place, but tasty food is guaranteed. I ordered a Mysore Masala Dosa, Idli and Filter Coffee. The Mysore Masala Dosa was the star of the meal. It was crispy and flavorful till the last bite. Coming to the Filter Coffee; This is what you call a traditional South Indian Filter Coffee. One sip and you will be hooked.
My Yellow Plate Recommends: Mysore Masala Dosa, Set Dosa and Filter Coffee
I’m a very ‘value for money’ proposition person. And this restaurant just qualifies to be on my fav list! Cheap, clean and tasty South Indian food that is available from 7:30 am to 10 pm.
I would say the best upma of Delhi and filter coffee is here much better then Sarvana Bhavan and they are really cheap.. and on weekend mornings there is a huge crowd of cyclists. do try their Bombay dosa its a cheese dosa and you will love it if you like cheese and south Indian.
A MUST TRY PLACE FOR EVERY DELHIET...!!!!
Grand old eatry of Delhi, standing firm to it's name over the years, choose anything from Menu, you will get best taste, services are good, it's a heaven for early morning birds
This place is a hidden gem for a commoner but not for a foodie. This is in the by-lanes of the Lutyens area, pretty close to India Gate.
The cafe (south Indian food joint) is pretty old, has simple looks and nothing fancy about it. The second generation owner has kept it traditional. Example: you won't find a menu on your table but up on the wall...just the way old restaurants used to have.
The service is prompt too. You will not be ignored at all as this place has only ~12 tables.
And coming to the most important part, the Food...
It is simply delicious. You can pick up any dish on the menu and you will not be disappointed. We tried onion rava, upma, idli, vada and filter coffee. They were just the way your taste buds would want them to be.
Strongly recommend...especially for all those who crave good South Indian food.
This small and unassuming place on teen murti road is a delight to be discovered by foodies like me. Everything we ordered from set dosa, to Mumbai dosa to paniyaram and filter coffee were perfect for a rejuvenating winter afternoon treat. I will specially mention the Bombay dosa which was made.with a stuffing of capsicum and cheese was absolutely heaven-made. A must try. Do not think about the prices to be on the higher side because you won't at all feel the pinch.
Bang in the middle of Lutyen's Delhi, this quaint place is jackpot for South Indian lovers. Simple and minimalist decor, and amazing quality of food will keep pulling you back for more.
The Set Dosa was the star of the meal. Super soft pancake style dosas, served with Aloo Masala and Chutney with piping hot Sambhar.
The Rawa Masala Dosa was insanely crisp and the paniyarams flavorful.
Definitely going to go back to try the rest of the items.
Mecca for cyclists and runners!
Mysore cafe has a history of 46 years and two generations behind!
Pic below is with the Owner Mr. RJ Deepak!
Great filter coffee, try without sugar
Strong to wake u up wee early in the morning!
Also great breakfast South Indian menu- upama, dosa
Recommended for fitness freaks!
wow food with all items prepared traditional n tasty only they don't have Air-conditioning...set dosage and sambar is good don't expect a wow ambience but food is good
The best thing about this place is the original south indian coffee taste. South Indian coffee is just the best, however, restaurants like sarvana bhavan give you the original south indian coffee which people from north might not like because its too strong.
Coffee served at this small cafe has a near perfect mixture of coffee powder and milk. All items on the menu are from south however taste is of north because they use north indian ingredients.
Good place for cyclists to have their morning breakfast here...
Heard lot about this pocket friendly place. Got a chance to visit Mysore Cafe today after cycling back from India Gate to home. Was surprised to find it completely packed at 8AM. I ordered a filter coffee along with Upma which I ate standing outside. The service was quick and they don't shy away from pouring oodles of chutney & sambhar. Added to my regular list.
a nice small cafe for a really light nd good south indian food. nd a perfect destination for cycle riders in morning. Filter coffee is best here nd no other can serve a better coffee at this pricing. you have to try upma its really good nd i recommend to must go nd try once.
approx 200 for two
Splendid place to be. Lovely food for a small place. Very pocket friendly. Situated in the superb neighbourhood of Chanakyapuri. A must if you are a delhite and an awesome hangout place for those morning rides.
I tried the delicious vada with coconut chutney. Then the masala dosa was really good. Sambhar had all the taste that a punjabi like me loves. Mysore masala dosa was on the spicy side, yummy none the less.
PS - Even if you decide not to eat anything here, just have their coffee. Worth it.
Ideal place for cyclists. Love Set Dosa , Utthapam, Masala Dosa and Upma. Not to forget Typical Filter Coffee. Everything is good except that ypu gotta eat limited cause you need to go back on cycle. 😂 Love it! 🚴
This is what we term as an ideal Pit-Stop for all cyclists who cycle around India Gate. Delicious South Indian food. Some must haves:
Idli Sambar
Upma
Filter Coffee
