The dishes and flavors were rather new so would recommend if you're okay with experimenting with new flavors. Quality and taste was good. We were really confused about what to order so we told the waiter to surprise us and he didn't disappoint so would give 10/10 for the service.
A quick mid-week date night at @maibaodelhi for Ramen! They were out of Ramen, tough luck! Anyways, the Nasi Goreng, yam puffs, prawn satay, and mixed seafood soup were a delight. If i have to nitpick, the yam puffs had fishy taste to them. A must visit if you are looking for a quiet date.
A Mix of Standout Dishes and Unique Experiments
I recently dined at Mai Bao and found the restaurant to offer a range of dishes, from standout favorites to unique experiments that may not be for everyone. The atmosphere was cozy, and the service was attentive, which contributed to a pleasant dining experience.
The salted egg shrimp was a definite highlight during my visit. The shrimp was fresh and cooked perfectly, and the salted egg sauce provided a delightful flavor. What really set this dish apart was Mai Bao's unique mayonnaise dip recipe, which added a creamy richness that complemented the shrimp beautifully. I highly recommend trying this dish.
While I didn't order the Hainanese chicken during this visit, I have previously enjoyed it several times through food delivery services. The chicken has consistently been tender and juicy, with fragrant and well-seasoned rice. This classic dish is definitely a must-try for fans of traditional Asian cuisine.
The chili crab, on the other hand, was a bit of a mixed bag. While the crab itself was cooked well, the dish was quite dry, which detracted from the overall enjoyment. Additionally, the chili crab's spiciness may not be suitable for everyone, so keep that in mind when ordering.
An interesting and unexpected addition to the menu was the rice cooked in coconut milk. This dish offered a unique twist on traditional rice, with the coconut milk adding a hint of sweetness and creaminess. While this dish might not be everyone's cup of tea, it's worth a try for those looking for something different.
In conclusion, Mai Bao offers a mix of standout dishes like the salted egg shrimp and Hainanese chicken, alongside more experimental options like the chili crab and coconut milk rice. The atmosphere and service contribute to an enjoyable dining experience, and I would recommend giving Mai Bao a try, keeping in mind the varying levels of dish quality.
Rating: 3.9/5
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Mai Bao, and I must say that it was a delightful experience. The food was fantastic, and the staff was attentive and polite, making for a memorable dining experience.
The authenticity of the cuisine at Mai Bao is undeniable. Every dish I tried was bursting with flavor, and it was evident that the chefs take great pride in their craft. The Miso Ramen was a standout dish, with a rich broth, perfectly cooked noodles, and fresh ingredients that complemented the dish perfectly. The Ayam Goreng was also exceptional, with perfectly cooked chicken that was tender and juicy.
The staff at Mai Bao was also a highlight of my dining experience. They were well-tailored, polite, and went above and beyond to ensure that I had a pleasant dining experience. Their knowledge of the menu was impressive, and they were more than happy to make recommendations based on my preferences.
While the food and service were exceptional, the decor could use some improvement. The restaurant's ambiance was a bit lackluster and could benefit from some upgrades to make it a more inviting space. The Opera Cake was also a bit of a letdown, as the coffee flavor was overpowering. However, the presentation of the dessert was impressive, and it was evident that the pastry chef put a lot of effort into it.
Overall, I would highly recommend Mai Bao to anyone looking to try new cuisine. The food is outstanding, the staff is delightful, and while the decor and dessert could use some work, it's still a great place to enjoy a meal. Based on my experience, I would give Mai Bao a rating of 4 out of 5.
The numerous great dining options present at the DLF Commons can get intimidating at times because of the choices one is presented with.
I chose to write about Mai Bao because I had one of the more memorable recent dining experiences there with my parents. Went there on a weekday when the foot traffic was lighter and liked the nice matte?!? coloured interiors and cozy seating. The menu was fairly simple to navigate. They apparently specialise in Asian street food (Singaporean to be more specific) and that caught my eye.
Hence I ordered the Hainanese Chicken Rice which was really well done. They managed to get the texture of the rice and the chicken on point along with the red sauce. The dark sauce which is usually present in Singapore was not present here and instead which we were given soya sauce which is my only gripe.
The crispy Duck Bao was excellent as well which I shared with my parents.
I cannot tell much about the Nasi Goreng and the Steamed Fish which my parents ordered since I only tasted a few spoons but from what I could gather, they enjoyed their meals and my parents are very hard to please.
The chef was based in Singapore for some time from what I could gather during our brief conversation.
The service was also excellent and the wait staff is keen and attentive.
Highly recommended.
Mai Bao is located in the recently renovated DLF Avenue . It's a Singaporean street food eatery with a menu comprising of other Pan Asian food as well. The decor is simple and pastel colours are used . The Merlion stand at the entry enhances the Singaporean touch to the decor.
We visited Mai Bao for lunch and started with the Vegetarian Laksa , couldn't have not tried it . The Laksa was super delicious with light rice noodles ,a coconut milk based gravy with accompaniments.
Not trying the Dimsums here would have been a pity. So light and good. Also tried Popiah , a dish made with rice sheets wrapped around salad and topped with the most delicious sauce have now become my favourite here . And for me a salad is must . The Pomelo salad was really refreshing .How can one visit Mai Bao and miss having a Bao . The creamy Mushroom Baos were just yum. Also must try are the Yam puffs . Crispy deep fried yam croquettes stuffed with spinach were a delight to savour on. For mains tried the Nasi Goreng . Tossed rice in Asian spices with a portion of silken tofu with crisps to make it as authentic as possible. For desserts we tried the very traditional Kuih Seri Muka . A steamed Coconut rice base with a Pandan custard set on top. One can also go for the Chocolate Opera cake . They also have other traditional desserts as well.
Everything we savoured here was exceptionally good whether it was presentation or quality. We ate to our hearts content. . The staff was extremely efficient and hospitable. Mai Bao should definitely be on you next eating out list .

We went to DLF Avenue and saw this little cafe which had nice and cool atmosphere and ambience.
We tried 3 things. Chicken and chilli oil wontons, chicken satay and Ayem goreng.
Wontons were nicely cooked and very tasty. Chicken was cooked thoroughly. It had 4 pieces.
Chicken satay had 4 skewers as well. Chicken cooked perfectly again and it was topped with peanuts and peanut sauce just like we get in the streets of singapore.
Ayem goreng is a malaysian style fried chicken. It had 5 pieces. We felt it had a little bit of more batter than the actual chicken but overall it tastes yum.
We ordered coke to go with all of this.
They have many other different things on there menu which we would love to try some other time.

If Pan Asian cuisine is what you are looking for then the place specialises in Singaporean and malay cuisines which are done to perfection . The tangy papaya salad, soft baos, peanutty satayas , dimsums and authentic Curries is what one can drool over. The lovely decor, attentive staff and the tummy food of the place just amazed. Started with the papaya salad which was a perfect balance flvoirs, the satay moist and. Smoky, Boas soft and the filling juicy, the laska very authentic , and the star was the soft shell chilly crab and the rendang . The bubble tea washed down the yummy meal and the pandan cake to end the meal was a perfect ending to great meal. Would recommend to all.
Loved the place. If you love Singaporean food, then this restaurant is where you need to head to. The satay, the popiah, the chilli crab and the oh so melt in your mouth char siu Pork Bao, are all to die for. And to top it all, you get a great bubble tea as well. A must place to visit for food lovers of the little island nation of the Malay Peninsula. Majulah Singapura.
Nice flavours of Singapore and Malaysia. Personal favourites are the dimsums and Hainanese Chicken rice.
I came back from Singapore some time ago (COVID Times) and was missing the food there. And I didn’t know about this place and was very thankful when I saw the word Singapore cuisine.
So without giving much thought, booked a table and reached the restaurant. Singapore food festival was ongoing and as such ordered the combo which came packed with some of the iconic dishes of Singapore.
Decor ✭ ✭ ✭ ✭
The place has been done tastefully and it’s nice to go and hang out to have a good meal.

I was not expecting much but a pretty good job done with the Laksa (a favourite of mine). The flavours were on point and it bought back good memories.
Room for Improvement: The chilli crab will seem ok to people having it for the first time but it being an iconic dish of SG, the taste needs a boost up to match the original.
Asian street food is the specialty served here. Menu has soups, salads, sushi, noodles, rice, rolls, baos , etc

Mai bao - cute, vibrant, quirky and youthful interior with visible kitchen. Tucked in the newly opened common, restaurant wing of DLF Mall Saket, food is inspired from Singaporean street food. You will find different types of baos with various fillings. Singapore has influence of different Asian countries and that reflects in their food. A variety of great dimsums, and lots of salads also reflects Asian influence along with lots of sea food and fish dishes. Bao and pork dish both need to be worked on.
I am also excited for their bubble cocktails which has been done by my dear friend Ankur Chawla. They don't have liquor licence yet.
Chef Nitin - Looking forward to visit again soon.
My pick - Singaporean chilli crab, prawn ball skewers and Lamb Rendang.

Fabulous food! Extremely authentic and perfect flavour. Every dish we ordered was delicious! This is a new gem in Delhi 👌
Nice nice. It's really good. But the customer service is bad. I couldn't get an extra glass of water when what was served initially got over. It's like they take orders, serve and then completely forget that we exist. The food is nice. Can't complain about that!
Very interesting menu. Don't know much about Singaporean food but it seemed authentic. Service was very good.
Mai Bao, recently opened at Commons, DLF Avenue, has come up with this quirky mix of cuisines in a well crafted menu by none other than @jemnguee who has further trained the team and now chef nitinn is very well taking things forward.
Must try dishes are Soupy dumplings, Laksa, Rendang curry and Pork Cha Siu. Also, the beverage menu has been designed by ,Rockstar Ankur chawlaa and we are eagerly waiting for the liquor license to try his beautiful concoctions soonest.
Pricing is good.
