What a gem of a find in the middle of Goa for Tam food! Tried the Mini Meal and everything from the Rassam, Sambar, to the pickles & fried dry chilli was spectacular! The Panakam as well as the coconut cooler were absolutely refreshing and tasty, especially on a warm afternoon... please put it on a can't miss/ must try list!
Sappadu is one of the coziest ambience restaurant literally giving you the feels of going to someone’s place for a ravishing meal. The owner and staff are super kind and the service is too class. Please do ask them about how they came up with this concept, the story will make you smile. Besides their amazing service, the food lives up expectations. I went here for their sunday set tamilian unlimited lunch served well in a typical traditional style. Overall had one of the best experience under budget.
Must must try!
Can’t find a fault in the place ever!
Hands down the best south indian food I’ve ever had! Had almost the entire menu and outstanding!
Everything from the atmosphere to the hospitality was top notch. The only place to be in Goa for some authentic south indian food
Sappadu is an excellent choice for a wholesome meal, specially for anyone who wants to go back to their Indian roots. The Banana Leaf Thali is a wide palate of regional varieties of Tamil Nadu. The ambience of traditional interiors and the food more than anything, will have you craving for more!
Also, Anuj, the owner and his team of ladies are extremely warm, hospitable hosts. Can’t wait to be back!
What a beautiful beautiful experience! South Indian food isn’t just Idli and dosa and this place proves it. Amazing ambience, scrumptious meal (I had unlimited thali on Sunday). All in all beautiful experience; it should definitely be there on your bucket list if visiting to Goa
South Indian cuisine, incredible combination of
tastes.
Art of cooking💛
Interior and service are all at the highest level.
Thank you.
Firstly, the ambiance takes you back to old era. Probably it’s 90 year old building. Simply charming.
The food! Outstanding.
Thank you for the experience :)
We had breakfast today in this quaint little eatery close to our Airbnb in Assagao.
The paniyaram, uttapam platter, keerai dal vadai and ragi dosa were perfectly accompanied by Sambhar and 2 types of chutney. The keerai vada was accompanied by rasam and chutney.
We washed down the yummy breakfast with strong filter coffee. My sister had the coconut punch.
A must visit if you are in the area.
They have a South Indian meal served on banana leaf every Sunday.
The assistant manager mentioned that the hotel is run by a Gujarati gent. The main cook is from Tamilnadu. Even though she was on leave the assistant cook dished out perfect platters for us.
We suggested that Kesari be added as sweet dish to complete the menu.
Being south Indians ourselves, we can certify that the food is authentic. Also kid friendly as it is not too spicy😋
Awesome South Indian cuisine in the heart of Goa. Try the Podi Idli... Infact all items are different. Worth trying... ❤️
We took a chance, wanting to try something different. We found this lovely house and was confused for a second till a lady came out and said they are open and it's indeed Sappadu. It was a Sunday so we got the fixed full meal. I'm sure there were more than 10 items on my leaf. Since I'm vegan I skipped the payasam, curd salad, butter milk and vaddas. There was plenty else to enjoy and I went for seconds too. The atmosphere is relaxed, rustic, homey, elegant with a touch of class. The ladies who were serving are local women, friendly and knowledgeable about the cuisine even though it's predominantly South Indian. We loved it. My 6 year old enjoyed her mini meal of dosas and accompaniments. Must visit for a homey simple experience
