The food's worth every rupee paid. The pizzas, pastas or the steak are as good as they can get. Situated right opposite the Ooty club, the place is not hard to find. No liquor available here though. It's best to make reservations before you go. The place is small and can seat around 30 - 40 people. The walls are filled with facts and interesting knick-knacks about bees and honey.
It was my absolute pleasure to have dined at Place To Bee. This quaint restaurant offers a well thought-through menu of food choices, food in served in good portions. Well composed plating is a plus. Definitely serves the best Italian food in the Nilgiris. The Slow Food concept also adds to the charm of the place!
Most of their dishes are made from local grown food that also includes wild foods from forests like wild honey, and the way they prepare it lends a unique taste to everything. Cottage Cheese skewers and hot garlic lemon wild honey drink are recommended.
Pizza couldn't be better than this. Great food and great service. I would like to go to this place again and again. Also requesting you to extend a branch in bangalore.

Quite an astounding restaurant at the heart of Ooty! This picturesque place is located right close to the Ooty club and is relatively easier to spot. This place specializes in Italian food. The decor is mesmerizing and the place has ample seating arrangements. The staff is quite courteous and were apt to take our orders even though we reached near to closing time. I really liked their humble gesture. Coming down to the food, we ordered or chicken wings, food fired chicken pizza and caramel custard. The food here is really delicious! I really loved the pizza and the caramel custard. The food is hygenic and good in quantity however the prices area tad bit on the higher side. Had quite a good experience here!

The place has a great ambience n lit so well... there was a lot of information about bees.. jus like a bee museum... d place gave us loads of positive vibes in each n every aspect... glass bottle, hay quilt chairs, bees biology jus close to nature in each bits...
Coming to d food we tried french fries, spicy hot veg pizza, caramel custard,iced tea,cold coffee.....

A place with good food for both tummy and brain. Has a lot of information on bees found in the region and how the honey is tapped. Went almost before closing time. But the food did not disappoint us.
So this used to be a bee museum ! A museum turned into a restaurant this place is pretty awesome ! It is run by an NGO named keystone foundation.
Ambience of this restaurant is very nice! The interiors are well done and museum information on bees is still there which is an icing on the cake

This place is a must visit if you are in Ooty. All the items on the menu are super delicious with super friendly staff. The ambience adds to the quality if the place. The lighting and the decoration of the place and everything else related to it only adds to the value of the place.
One of the best places I have been to. Everything I ordered was great. Sadly I was able to taste only dishes being pizza, pasta and banoffee pie. I am usually a pasta person but the pizza here was too good that I had an extra slice. But the best is the pie. It's something u should try. It's sweet but the sweetness isn't too much. It's just perfect ❤️❤️

Must visit! One of the only good restaurants in Ooty. Everything is pure Italian. The white sauce pasta was amazing ( or maybe we were all just super hungryy) But, indeed we really liked both white and red sauce pasta. There’s a starter named “Oreganon Chilli Garlic Focaccia” which was super tasty. Worth the hype I must say!
A very good place with wholesome taste and slow cooked brilliant food. The pasta has amazing flavour to it. All the good items available here has a character of it's own. The banoffee pie is extremely good too.

Fantastic experience.Food is excellent,best Italian I must say,we ordered lemon coriander soup,Spicy veggie pizza and lemon soda.All we're good ,there were only two people to serve and take order,bill and the restaurant was 75% filled ,still service was super quick without any wait time .And price what we paid was Wow ,can't imagine such excellent food, hygeine,ambience at this price .A must visit when you are at Ooty and wish to try Italian food.Enjoy food

Visited this place 4 months ago during my trip to Ooty. The interiors is so so welcoming. Its a vey cozy place. Once a Bee museum now turned into a restaurant. The food here is delicious especially the homemade ice cream and pasta are delicious.

Originally a bee museum now converted into a restaurant. The ambience is beautiful with a lot of picture frames that provide interesting information about bees. The staff is also sweet and service is quite quick.
We ordered:
1. French fries- it was homemade and not from the packet which was a plus but we felt there was a bit too much oil. The taste of potatoes were lost
2. Arrabbiata pasta - this was well cooked and delicious. A must try.
3. Pomodoro pasta - this was a bit bland compared to the arrabbiata! But was well cooked.
4. Veggie pizza - this was extremely tasty and loaded with cheese. The panneer and the sauce gave it a delicious taste.
This place was actually the first Bee Museum in Asia. It was then turned into a restaurant. Its such a cozy little place. We reached this place very late so had to settle down with 2-3 dishes only or else would have ordered some more.
We ordered 1) Mexican Chinese Pizza.
2) Lemon Coriander Soup.
3) Brownie with Homemade Ice cream.
All the 3 dishes were amazing in taste. Even the person attending was so kind. A must visit if you are in Ooty.

A must be place in Ooty. The best aglio olio pasta I have had. Beats Italy for me. Sun dried tomatoes, dripping olive oil and the local red chilies.. wow!!! The pizzas are great too. Ordered the tuna pizza and the margarita. This place with satisfy your taste buds for sure.

This is by far one of the best pizzeria! Their Italian sausage pizza is to die for. The aglio olio is perfectly well seasoned and garlic Parmesan chicken Poppers are to die for!
If you like the zing of Mustard, then please do try their chicken wings.
The Cheesecake with the mango sauce is yummy but I am in absolute love with the Panna Cotta.

I had been to this place and liked the interior, very nice decoration with inside and outside seating.
I have ordered fresh lime soda - was very refreshing.
White sauce pasta- was too delicious with lots of olives and creamy sauce. Taste could have been better, but it was good.
Garlic bread - this was quite different from other places, served with mayonnaise and it had soft texture with crunchy taste, perfect one to try here.
The only problem I felt was, most of the items were not there when I went, so I have to choose what they prefer. Very less staff.

The food is nice and the owner is very courteous. The restaurant was running short on staff with only one server and the owner managing a considerably crowded night, but it is understandable given the popularity of the restaurant.
The place claims to serve authentic Italian food, but some dishes we ordered weren't authentic at all. The pasta was too "oniony".
The ambience is good and the service is quick.
Loved this cozy little eatery and the food was really nice, the pizza, the chicken steak and the bread were all lovely. The place follows the concept of slow food and is inspired my bee farming and honey. The staff is warm and polite and the food is delicious
Nice and calm place to be. Its busy during evenings. Everyone won't like the taste of its food items. Lots of research and planned work has been put up on walls of cafe about bees. Different types of bees to see. Its good for pasta and pizza. Menu can have more of items. Non-veg soup was very disappointing.
Just amazing place to be. I liked the interior as well as the food. Pizzas are amazing at this place, however they don't serve tomato ketchup. I would recommend to have Lemon and coriander soup, it the best one I had so far. Staff's behaviour is polite. When in Ooty, visit Place to Bee.

So we have 2 different experiences of this place. Coz we went there twice. First of all the generic review:
It has a cozy and friendly environment. Good for small groups and families. It has a huge parking place too. As it is at little offbeat location for us it was it was little difficult to find at night (there board is bit small) but in a way that the charm of this place as it far from the crowd and the "slow food" concept makes this place unique and a place must visit at least once.
On our 1st visit we ordered pizza as that's their highly recommended and popular cuisine. But while ordering anything be very careful about that add on for any dish and even about the portions of soup coz any change in the style or add on might cost a lot. We also tried there ice tea, some chicken starter and chicken steak. Sadly there portion are very small. But food was nice.
During our second visit our experience in food was not that great we felt that the chicken was not that fresh and as it was the day post new year I remember only 2 groups were there and even the other group was complaining about the freshness of the chicken.

Amazing Italian cuisine. I tried their Pasta with Mushroom sauce which was exquisite. But their bread crumb friend chicken had a pungent smell which made it very difficult to eat. Their waiting time is the most horrible part. We had to wait for 30 mins before we could get a table. There is only one dedicated person to handle all the orders and also do the service. Certainly an area which can be improved upon.
One of the must visit restaurant if you are a foodie. Great hospitality, quantity and quality for the price is worth it considering that you are dining at above 2000+ meters.
Good thing is that they have their own open garden and from there they are harvesting your food.
Being an old renovated Bee museum, you can sit and chill learning more about the bees waiting for you hot food to be served.
There is nothing special to choose from the menu as I have visited this place thirce and still not sure which is the best as everything is worthy and mouthwatering. Whatever you choose, you won't get disappointed at all. Cheers

The place is warm and inviting. Exudes a calm vibe too. Fantastic food and fantastic manager Mr Karthik. The place seems to be on its last legs. Hoping it's around for a lot longer.
Tucked away quietly in the Nilgiri Natural History Society is a quaint Italian joint that serves delicious pizza in Ooty. Abundant with information about the Niligiri bees on the walls (which in a weird way works out as decor) and fairly lit with simple furnishings makes this cafe even more charming. A friendly staff and slow cooking makes the environment all the more relaxing and easy. Definitely worth the money and time.
Oh my god. I loved this place.. it's so pretty... This place great ambiance.. and really slow food restaurant what's that even mean.. but with food so great.. and with such music playing there i could stay forever.. it's on the 1st floor, got a balcony as well. on the ground floor, it has a local brand shop with tea, and clothes. This place is a honey museum. The special dishes are great. I liked everything and want to visit again
A wonderful restaurant elegantly integrated in a bee museum which serves some lovely food made from local produce. I tried Spiedini Vegetariani, Spicy veg pizza, Banoffee pie. All the dishes were yummy. Banoffee pie🥧 was eggless and its a must try! My request to avoid Onion and garlic was catered to!
For sure one of the best Indian restaurants I've been to in terms of service, quality and ambience. Would like to visit again! :)
