This was an amazing visit to the Angaara restaurant. The kind and welcoming warmth of the crew into a tastefully crafted ambience just lightens your mood immediately. The fine quality of food is the shining feature of this place. The Mutton Angaara specials and the Chicken Alfaham left us licking our fingers !! This is a must visit place for super fine dining experience in Ooty. Hope the standard is maintained throughout.

Not too much restaurant in Udhagamandalam - Ooty, however I had some dishes here which was very good in taste and presentation. Also there was very courteous staff.
Our overall experience was quite good. We had visited Angaara a few times earlier too and each time, the food was really good. This time we ordered, chicken manchow soup, alfahm chicken, lemon fish tikka(really really good), tandoori and roomali roti, chicken angaara, mutton kheema and a buttermilk, blueberry cheesecake and caramel custard for dessert. Each and every item was well made. Our waiter Bikram Roy, was very friendly and took good care of us. Service was pretty quick. Our additional advantage was that all the staff we interacted with was Bengali and understood our requirements very well.

Another great find in a new city. Neatly decorated. Prompt and polite service. Delicious food. I have eaten Chicken Lollipop in more than 50 restaurants but i think, i got it best at Angaara. Soft and juicy. Just melting in the mouth. Do give this place a try, whenever in Ooty.

One of the best places I have ever been to. Starting from sweet corn soup, lemon fish tikka, Fried rice, Chinese sides are excellent. Mutton mandi was one of a kind - a must try. On top of all Haran Karmakar was extremely cooperative and suggested as per customer wish. Overall a great experience at ooty.

Went for lunch here on 23.06.2019. The restaurant ambience is good and by far one of the best in Ooty. I believe they are a branch of Hyderabad biriyani house.We ordered fish fingers , biriyani rice and chicken kebab. The biriyani rice was simply awesome. The fragrance literally made us order it. The chicken kebab was nicely marinated and was worth the price we paid. However the fish fingers was a let down. On the whole the service and rice made the visit worth it. A lot of ppl ordered naan and gravy as well . It seemed to look good however I personally prefer the biriyani

While preparing for my vacation to Ooty, I realized that I would crave for north indian food real bad. So, I did my research and zeroed in on Angara as my 'to visit' north indian restaurant in Ooty. Angara is located in Elk Hill. It is a medium sized restaurant. Loved the positive and vibrant ambience. They have indoor as well as outdoor seating. We preferred indoors owing to the cold atmosphere. Angara specializes in north indian cusine. We ordered butter chiken, anda curry along with butter roti and butter nans for mains. Starting with the positives, the anda curry was excellent. The curry was spicy and tasty. The butter nans and rotis were good as well. The butter chiken had a beautiful flavoursome gravy. Unfortunately, the chiken wasn't cooked to perfection. Would've been amazing if they had nailed the chiken. We tried gulab jamun with ice cream for dessert along with mosambi juice. The dessert was perfect. Loved it. Great presentation. The juice was good as well. The staff is polite and efficient. The service is fast. Satisfactory quality and quantity. Reasonable prices. Overall this place did not disappoint but did not blow me away either.

Recently visited this place with a bunch of friends after seeing their ratings on Zomato app. The place was crowded, but the staff was extremely polite and nice. The ambience is mesmerising and the food was definitely worth it. The biryani was mouth watering. Very good place to eat in ooty. Just one point of caution there can be huge wait times. We waited almost 30 minutes before being seated. We started with soup which was brilliant. Next we had ordered chilly chicken which was average and had salt on a slightly higher side. In main course we ordered panner Angara and tandoori roti. Taste wise paneer was good , only issue is they had added some colour. Ambience wise it's a very good place and gives a good feel.
I have visited this place three times. First two times zomato did not cover ooty restaurants. First two times were really good(worth 4.5 rating). Hence I kept visiting it in all my ooty trips.
This time the taste of food has degraded slightly. May be they have changed the chef.
Dal tadka and Malabar fish curry were excellent even this time.
Angara chicken and pepper chicken used to be my favorite dish here were but bland this time. But it is still good.
Algahan chicken was average. I have had better ones in arabian restaurants.

Went here for dinner on a Thursday night at 7:30. Very quiet restaurant but the ambience looked nice. Ordered a chicken Tikka and a lemon coriander soup. The food tasted great and provided good warmth in the extreme cold. Would de recommend a visit.

good ambience, good décor, good bar, good food, one of the best restaurant in ooty. their non veg menu are amazing and very delicious. you should go and try them when you visit ooty. each and every item's here are very delicious. we have tried a lot of items and we get unique taste in each and every items. they do have Persian and Lebanese menu too. North Indian mughlai dishes are highly recommend here.

We followed the Zomato top rating for this restaurant in Ooty. The food quality and quantity were great if only slightly spicy (that may also be because of our choice of dishes). The speed of bringing the order to the table was impeccable. No sooner had we finished our soup, starters appeared and then the main course. The ambience of this restaurant is also very good. Although it seems to have a wide non veg spread, vegetarians won't be disappointed at all. Angaara delivers its top rating in the area!

Sanjib Rao attended and guided us so well to select items. Grilled chicken, Mutton biriyani was awesome... Chicken white sauce pasta was average. Faluda, a dessert item was so mouth watering, we cherished so much. Angara, a well appreciated non-veg restaurant in Ooty town. Thanks again Sanjib...

Visited with my friends and it’s a lovely place with eye catching ambiance, delicious food and super friendly staff. I loved their murg methi malai and mocktails which made me to visit again on next day and it was even better experience than first day as server surprised me with a special mocktail for me and my fiancé.

Awesome Angaara ! The food was just great . The ambience was very beautiful and both the service and service staff were good . We had ordered dal tadka , aloo gobi and paneer makhani , it was delicious . The soup was the hero out of the lot. The manchow soup and sweet corn soup was the best. We almost licked our plates off . Visted Ooty with family. Tried couple of places for lunch and one being Angaara located at Ettines road.
One of the best ambiance you can get in ooty. Beautifully decorated interiors with glass design. Surely an eye catchy one for kids and family.
Hot and sour soup was decent to taste.Chicken 65 was usual affair and tandoori chicken had no complaints.Chicken tikka was best of the lot. Lemon fish tikka was boneless was good.
Gobi Manchurian and crispy baby corn for veggie was average.
Crispy chicken noodles and biriyani for main course. Chicken fried rice for kids was OK.
Best of main course was steam rice with malabar fish curry which was outstanding.
Desserts tried the sizzling hot brownie with ice-cream.
pricing is little on the higher side.

The service is very good. good quality food. All time best restaurant in ooty. Veg and non veg angaara special is my all time list. Ask for hot water and they will provide.
If you are in ooty, then you can definitely visit this place for some delicious non veg dishes. We ordered chicken lollipop, a kebab item, mutton rogan josh, chicken kadhai, naan and brownie with icecream for dessert. Only reason i gave a 4* was because of the kadhai chicken as that was the only item we didnt like.
Definitely a place i would like to visit again.

Happy to find angaara on our day 1 of ooty trip , and had amazing food in lunch though we were late for it and came around 3:30pm but service was good, food was fresh and tasty. Biryani was above avg and other things were perfect.

Friday, August 17, 2018: My first ever South India trip. Went with friends for dinner. Had my favourite dish - butter chicken, loved it. Ambience is also very nice and good, start from the restroom to the insides. Rates are also reasonable. Service is fast. Vegetarian items are also good. Prawn biryani was disappointing. Lassi(Buttermilk) also tasted great. Must visit for a family outing.

How to get here: Easy to locate on Google maps. Located on Etinnes Road which is easy to find on your own or by local auto.
Ambience: This is a tastefully decorated place with black and white as the main colour scheme. The area with the larger tables are themed white and smaller tables arranged around are themed black.
Cuisine: Indian, Continental, Chinese and Arabic
Food we ordered: Paneer tikka sizzler, Multani Kebab and Khaboos. Paneer tikka sizzler was served with a cheese based white sauce recommended by the captain. Multani Kebab is a spicy tangy kebab which was cooked to perfection served with green chutney, purple cabbage and pickled onions, carrots and beetroot. Multani Kebab was also a recommended dish, perfectly spiced and just the right portion of 8 pieces in a plate. The captain even recommended Mandi rice which is an Arabic style preparation but did have any room to try this out.
Service: We were served and tended to my Mr. Alam who was well informed of his menu and the preparation in the menu. He recommended us all that we ate.
How much did we pay: Our bill was about 700 change. For the quality of the food served, the ambience and service, this was great bang for the buck.
My recommendation: must eat at place in Ooty. I will definitely visit again and sample some more food here, may be next time the Mandi Rice.
Only downside to this place would be finding a parking space. This place is on a busy road in Ooty and finding a parking during peak season could be a challenge
