We are true biryani lovers and are open to trying out new varieties of biryani. So, thought we should give this fames biryani spot a chance.
Pros- We tried the chicken biryani. Lip smacking taste. The malabari biryani lovers might not like it so much. But we loved it. Its spicy but does not leave a pungent spice effect after you eat. The rice is cooked to perfection and the chicken pieces were juicy. The biryani is served with salad, pickle and chicken gravy (not that great). The chicken 65 was also ok. The place is neat, clean. Food is served on a plate lined with banana leaf.
Price is also very reasonable. Rs 100 for chicken biryani, 35 for extra rice & rs 110 for chicken 65.
Cons- Very difficult to reach the place in own transport. No parking facility. For people who love ambience, would not recommend this place. Its crowded, may have to wait for a long time to get seats.
Personally, we loved the food and would go there again & again.

Not the best biriyani but a good one.. Well justified..i had chicken and beef .. Meat is perfectly good with soft rice. Quantity is good and they have good fried items as well... Worth trying

Always my friends used to say about NMR & their biryani! So, one day I planned to go there with my friends. In my mind, NMR was like a chain restaurant. But in real made me feel not-upto -the-thought. We got a table and ordered 4 Chicken Biriyani. The presentation was perfect. The taste was also adorable and tastes like Tamil style biriyani. This happened before 3 years from now. Still, I suggest everyone go there and try their superb food.
Good biriyani center in palakkad,budget friendly hotel...better avoid visiting during lunch hours to avoid rush and waiting for along for getting seat..
The biriyani is too delicious. It pretty hard to get a table. The consistency of taste is their plus point. Not suitable for family during lunch hours because of the crowd.
NMR - Best biryani in Town. Legendary outlet in Palakkad for authentic palakkadan biriyani. This restaurant always jam packed. You need to spend 10 -15 mins to get seat during busy lunch hours. They have other outlet which is located near to Stadium Bus stand.
You need to forget ambience, bcoz here is the place for biryani cravings. Not a chilling place. Chicken biryani , Chicken fry are the best sellers.

I still remember the first time I visited this place . . . It was somewhat 2 years back ( sorry I don't remember the exact date ) . We were shopping for my cousin's wedding in palakkad town and our stomach were singing with hunger as the clock moved . A staff in the textile shop suggested us to visit NMR . . . At first I doubted the cleanliness of the hotel from the exterior view but I regretted being prejudice after getting in. The place were extremely neat and the staffs were constantly trying to erase every bit of dirt that the customers left on the table and floor (even the washing area were clean) The place had a homely atmosphere. We ordered chicken biriyani . The staffs were very polite and served food with a smile . Biriyani had a special flavour and vibrant taste . . . . The colour of the rice were light brown unlike the whitish rice that I have came across. Biriyani were served in banana leaf kept over a plate . It was a very delightful experience. From that day we used to visit NMR when ever we went to town. I have also went there with my friends quit a number of times since the food is affordable with the pocket money we have
I had been to palakkad in June 18. I went to NMR for the first time. It was full packed with customers. The biryani was different than usual keralite biryani of gheerice. I liked the chicken ghee roast. Very tasty and filled with burnt cocunut. Will visit again if in that town. This outlet was opposite bus stand. Easy to access
As far as I know they have 3 locations in Palakkad. I was strongly recommended to visit NMR by my superior as he is from there. And had warned me it would be spicier than normal Biriyani. But to my surprise it wasn't hot spicy. Just had spicy flavor. We tried beef biriyani and chicken 65. Biriyani was well flavored and had properly soft, well cooked, good quality beef pieces. Chicken 65 was good enough, but wasn't boneless and felt like more bone pieces than it should be. They provide chicken and veg gravy + loads of raitha/curd which takes the experience to another level and is not familiar to majority keralites when it comes to briiyani There will be crowd during lunch time although we managed to get a table without much hassle or wait time. Parking is there but the roads are a bit narrow.

Food served is fresh and straight out of the kitchen. Classic raavuthar biriyani with spices mixed well with the rice and meat. Mutton was very high quality meat, and was cooked to perfection. However the place can get a bit busy at times and expect wait times of 10-15 minutes during rush hours.

NMR Briyani House it is located near to the palakad bus stand which is around 1 km nearly.The tast is good must try if you visit palakad but you expect quantity it will not full fill you. Price will be reasonable one.little busy in the lunchtime.your going to tast an good food you can wait for 5 to 10 min .

This is one of the Must Try Biriyani in Palakkad town. Many of the Kerala Biriyani lovers may not like this. This is real masala based biriyani. Mutton Biriyani is very very special and even must try. The protein content is also really good. The Dhalcha combination is heavenly.

If you love palakkadan biriyani, definitely try this biriyani.
They will serve some gravy also.
It is situated 850metre from palakkad town stand.
There is no parking space for cars. Two floors are there. In ground floor, 4-5 tables are there . In one table 4 persons can accomodate.
Behavior of staff is also average
Biriyani is like a tomato rice with chicken curry. Salad is ok. Pickle is below avawerange.
Biriyani served in old style like we called kundanbiriyani.
Very much spice is in the biriyani. And chicken is two piece is there. I got one leg piece and one small piece with the biriyani.
For 130 rupees this biriyani is not worth it.

The starting place of the NMR restaurants. They have almost 4 -5 another big restaurants. Still they maintain thier 1st hotel as same as how it was before. Food was good. Service was also nice. Online payments are accepted. There is no parking space available. They do delivery also.

Food is mind blowing. But the cons are, the waiters are very rude and bad. Since the dining is small and crowded, they just expect you to eat fast and move out.

This is one of the most famous biriyani house in Palakkad , I tried the nRM special biriyani which is little bit spicy and it's different from the other normal biriyani you may have experienced. The staff in the store are super nice . Especially the person in the billing was very funny. I also tried a beef fry which is very nice and we'll fried and very tasty . It's the first time I a getting a vegitable gravy curry for a biriyani
