Excellent place. I had my visit recently and it was delighting for me being there. So far as service is concerned, it unparalleled and staffs were friendly too. The only issue i have faced is misfuctioning of ac in room and even in corridoors. I am not sure but I guess this is a problem with hotel at the time I had stayed.
Another feedback, basic kits such as dental or shaving kit were not in the room though it was provided promptly when I had asked for. I understand, it should be in your room at the time of check-in.
They also have good and working equipments in gym. I liked it.
Room dine-in was also good and it is equally true about the morning breakfast.
Overall experience is still positive. As the place is calm, rooms are nice and location is having an added advantage, it can surely be my choice of stay whenever I am visiting Punchkula.
I stayed at Golden Tulip every Sunday of the Month so far. I appreciate the courtesy of staff Ms Anu and Mr Lalit the FOM. The Rooms are nice and tidy. The property is a full give star category with nice ambience and location. Food is awesome and delicious at their restaurant. Patio Terasse is a lovely all day dining restaurant with one of the best views in Chandigarh. Delicious food, warm hospitality and the beautiful hills all around make it the perfect place to dine whether it's breakfast, lunch or dinner. The place is great for hosting private events too which I noticed as witnessed a kitty party taking place in the large outdoor seating area during my stay at the hotel.
Chef Chuni has recently joined and whipped up some really innovative and delicious dishes for me and my family which left us impressed. I started my breakfast with a fusion dish called a sandwich dosa which consisted of dosa slices with a coleslaw filling which was unique and tasted delicious. The presentation was amazing too as you can see from the pictures.
In appetizers, I highly recommend their chicken tikka. For a dish so common, they have sure perfected the art of making the perfect tikka as it was juicy, tender and bursting with flavor. Definitely the best tikka I've had in my life. A trip to Punjab is incomplete without Soya Chaap and for lunch, I was served an malai Tikka version of the same. This is really tender and flavorful. I also had the chicken roulade Tikka, another innovative and delicious creation by the chef and his team.
For main course, I chose to go for typical north Indian fare of butter chicken, Mutton roganjosh, mixed veg and dal makhni and all were just perfect. The Dal makhni was so good that I had about three bowls of it!
What stood out is that the staff here is extremely warm and attentive and everyone greets you with a smile and takes your feedback about the food which shows their dedication to great service.
Overall, I am super impressed with this restaurant and highly recommend it. I will definitely drop by when I'm visiting Chandigarh next.
Our stay was wonderful with food at patio Terrace. Buffet breakfast was with our room package. As a foodie i like breakfast buffet because this is a time where entire globe comes on a platter.
They have wide selection of various cuisines. Continental to american breakfast. Indian breakfast covers a wide range. They had both fresh juice and canned juice along with lassi and masala chhach. Cold cut selection, cheese was also there.
You can also order dosas, omelette, pan cake from live counters. I liked mysore masala dosa and chhole with bhatura the most.
Service was prompt and staffs are very cordial.
Located near Panchkula where the hills just begin, this place has both balcony outdoor seating a cozy fine dine. In terms of the food the taste was on point. I loved their Kadhai paneer with butter naan and their noodles too. The live music singer was exceptionally talented and makes you enter a whole new zone altogether. The awesome food plus amazing background live music makes it a delight to dine here.

Let me be frank. Earlier except for the place and the looks I did not liked anything about this hotel. And by anything I mean the Food. But on Sunday i went there for a small party and was quite impressed because they have improved a lot. We ordered a few dishes including Chicken Satay, Tandoori Chicken, some mushroom snacks (the name i forgot) and more. All were well prepared. The quantity was adequate and not 'small' like other hotels. Loved it.

Away from the city amidst green Morni Hills is this beautiful hotel located. Patio Terrasse is one of the most beautiful restaurant in the city which offers beautiful view of the hills. I went there with two of my friends for dinner. Found IPL offers and we thought to try them out. Snacks were hot & tasty with extremely chilled beer made our evening. We relaxed for few hours while eating, drinking & watching live match on big screen. Relaxing environment, attentive staff with serious good food. Little away from city centre but gives you a pleasure of driving.
This place is heaven for food lovers, their buffet system has everything you can imagine of, yes! I mean it, the quality, the ambience! The staff is very friendly and they really care about their customers. Hats off to the cleanliness and the place is just beautiful. The staff and the service is the most polite I've ever seen and it's up to the mark. The quality of the food was good and there were options to choose from.
One of the staff member took feedback both the times about the food and asked if anything needed to improved.
I would love to visit again for lunch and dinner as well.

Great service. Very spacious, clean, and beautiful place. Food was just above average. Had the buffet spread. The starters were good. The main course was decent. What was a little disappointing was there was not a single lamb / mutton dish in the entire buffet option. They should mix and match, atleast include one lamb dish either in the starters or the main course. But what was commendable was the service, the servers were great in their job. All the staff was very good. They made us feel that they actually cared.
This is a very nice for very occasionally dinner or some celebration with family, friends and mostly for couples. I'm planning to go there again with my boyfriend soon for quality time
The ambience, the view of the mountains is superb. The location of the hotel is right at the foothills of the Shivalik range, as perfect place to spend time with your loved ones. A Pleasant weather and a cool wind coupled with a remarkable terrace (view) is the perfect weekend getaway.

I have visited this place in October last year. We have taken a dinner deal from Little app. Overall Dinner was really good. Starters were awesome especially spring rolls and Paneer tikka's. Then we enjoyed the main course along with live music from a professional singer. Only Improvements needed in desserts as I didn't like even one of those.
Moreover view of surroundings gives another shot. If you want to feel the hills view and greenery then better to go for lunch. Also Beware of their overcharging on water bottles and they are not providing bill on water bottles.
amazing views as as far as the outdoor seating is concerned. it doesn't feel as though you're so near a city. Food is pretty much decent, but it misses out on being memorable, which is great for the chai-pakora deals thanks to the view! I have been there many times.
Firstly, the breakfast buffet is yum delicious. You wont find any other place better than this. The buffet is bit pricey but levels up with the quality they provide.
Secondly, having dinner at roof top gives you a very good environment and you might sometimes find live music there! That just lights up the environment and makes your evening best..!
Didn't expect the place to be good.. the food was satisfying.. the veg bambaiya sandwich was good .. the presentation was nice.. we enjoyed our lunch at the terrace seating which offered a soothing view of the hills..
Veg green Thai curry was tasty.. but the food was getting cold again and again as it was slightly cold outside.. tandoori aloos were also tasty.. veg Hakka noodles were good..
But the waiter did a mistake while serving coffee .. he interchanged the Latte with cappuccino.. otherwise, the staff was decent and well-mannered.. the coffee was okay.. fresh lime soda was refreshing.. the nice thing was that we weren't charged for the tea and coffee.. overall, it was economical and the menu had a good variety..

Before I write anything, please ensure that you look at some pictures posted by Golden Tulip.
Now once you have seen them, I m sure it is difficult to believe that this place exists at such close proximity.....a nature's haven and a foodie's delight within Chandigarh at the foothill of Morni Hills. I was amazed when I discovered this place and got a chance to visit it last month over a weekend. We chose the outdoor seating coz of the view n all but due to chill in the air and no view as it was dark, we moved in.
Kudos to a very hospitable team at Golden Tulip who ensure that u r comfortable and at ease. We decided to try their Dinner Buffet along with some al-a-carte items to go along. Now the buffet in itself is an extravagant affair and we enjoyed 3 veg and 3 non veg snacks with our soup. I loved their non veg starters more which included chilli chicken, fish wrapped in bread crumb and chicken tikka way more than the veg snacks. I should compliment the bar man too coz he served some exemplary mojitos and caprioska.
Onwards with the main course, I tried their fish in spinach gravy and chicken something which was rich, creamy and flavorful (don't remember the real names of the dish though). Tried masala parwal....yes u read it right parwal n it was surprisingly great. Rest of the items were usual paneer, dal, etc...etc which were decent. Surprisingly both our alacarte dishes didn't impress us much....mutton rogan josh (which I'm extremely sentimental about 😉) n Arabita pasta. The chef was gracious enough to note our concerns and recommendations about these two. Desserts included fruit cream (too creamy) and browine plus ice cream.....none of which were exemplary. N I almost forgot to mention that they have a live singer on weekends.
I feel this place is not just about the food and more about the overall experience which is quite cool. I feel it provides the perfect settings to make special occasions memorable. This place tops my list of 'goto places for winter brunches'. :)

Far away(not too far though) from the maddening crowd of the City and at the base of the Morni Hills the Golden Tulip chain has built this gem of a property, where one really can relax over meal with family or friends without bothering for car parking hassles or for waiting for a table for hours on a weekend.I had an occasion to have dinner at the Patio restaurant on a weekend with my better half and it was a beautiful experience gastronomically and otherwise. As this is going to be quiet a long review, here is the shorter version: A good Meal with an even better( perhaps one of the best) view !
Now for those who really want to dig in ,let me start with the ambiance, the place has both outdoor and indoor seating. The out door seating really does have those marvelous views which one can see in the pictures on the site while the indoor seating is a cosy parlour which also offers private dining spaces for large families. I opted to sit out doors first but shifted in after the main course due to the slight chill in the air. I found the service, both indoors and outdoors quiet prompt without being intrusive.
They have a dinner buffet going on and I opted for it. The Soups in the buffet didn't really catch my fancy and so I ordered a Tomato Soup instead. It was served steaming hot in no time and reminded me of a soup which my mother used to make on cold wintery nights, full of tomatoes and bit of herbs with not even a hint of tomato ketchup or any other sauce, cornflour or maida for that matter. If you like perfect home made soups with best ingredients the kind that only mothers can make, then this is the place for you. The starters began with chilli chicken, I wasn't too happy with its texture which seemed a bit gooey but it tasted alright, Then came in the crumb fried fish, this had perfect texture but lacked just the right amount of flavor. I would say a tad more flavor in the batter used to coat the fish and it would be just perfect. After that I was served the chicken tikka. Now this was the show stopper in the starters, perfectly marinated till every morsel was imbibed with spices and then slowly cooked till the meat was done and yet not too dry. There were crispy vegetables salt and pepper along with a few other usual starters like panner tikka but being a carnivore I wasn't really paying too much attention. I do recall that panner tikka was cooked quiet perfectly and panner was tender and well spiced.
After tasting the starters I moved on to the main course, which was quiet different( in a good way) then what one finds in the usual tri City fine dine restaurants. They had a fish in green gravy, it was quiet delicious and something I had not seen before, (unfortunately I'm forgetting the name, it wasn't Thai Gravy I'm sure but an Indian one) There was Dhania Murg which again was perfectly cooked with old fashioned thin watery curry and a wonderful aroma, (which again reminded me of the old fashioned chicken made by grandmothers at home ) the most surprising dish on the table was Parmal, which is not something I ever expected to find in a restaurant( I must point out that it tasted delicious) and which my mother I'm sure would go gaga over. Then there was the usual Karahi Panner, Dal Tadka and Mix veg with a fancy name. I tried all the dishes in the main course and would say that they were all well done. Another thing I found quiet interesting was their egg salad, which was boiled egg garnished with spring onions and delicately cut vegetables, and yolk inside was quiet creamy (I don't know how the chef made it but it was very very hatke! ).
After starting with the Indian I somehow felt an urge to try Italian and ordered a simple penne pasta in arrabita sauce. Much to my surprise the Pasta was first grade, with perfect amount of sauce which was well spiced and tangy in just the right amount. I somehow never expected the place to serve anything but good Indian fare but going by the pasta I would say the chef knows his Italian dishes as well. Though I was not too impressed by the bread served along with it, which was basically white bread covered with mozerrala cheese. Along with the main course I also ordered a Mojito and Caprioska, the mojito was well made with a generous serving of alcohol, the Caprioska was quiet average. I asked the waiter to get me any cocktail which the bar man thought was his specialty but he just gave me another Caprioska, much to my surprise. I guess the Bar Tender needs a little more creativity here. He good and consistent but not out of the world.
For desserts they the usual Ice cream and a brownie, which was served over ice and a moong dal halwa. None of the desserts had the wow factor and I would say keeping a brownie over ice dint make sense to me as I had to work really hard to even break a morsel of it with my spoon. It had turned really hard because it was cold.
In the end I ended up paying about a thousand rupees for the buffet which I felt was quiet good value for money.
In the end I would say this is place to go, if you want to impress your new found girl friend, if you want to go on a romatic weekend get away not very far from the city, if you want to go on a first date or if you just want to chill out with friends over a Sunday brunch.
Ok so this is a gorgeous restaurant. In case you are up for a weekend getaway or are on the way to the Morni hills, you can try this place out (although you won't find many eateries on the way so why not). What I liked about this place was the service. Food was okayish (not out of the world).
My first visit was fine, second got worse, and I don't know if I will want to go back again. It would be awesome if they could revamp some of their items in the menu to attract customers as indeed it is far away, so there should be some incentive for us to try out something out of the ordinary.
When you go to dine In at a recognized and 5star restaurant, you expect it to be fabulous. This place doesn't fulfil those needs! Being a high end restaurant, it should provide top quality, but it isn't! Food is average and equal to any descent restaurant quality wise. Had a bit disappointment but ambience was good and service was nicely done. That earned them 3.5.

Visited Golden Tulip for dinner on a family visit to Chandigarh. I was interested in having snacks so I asked staff to get us which is best. And this what they got, trust me..... Truly amazing! Specially the tikkas were mouth watering. I got to know that they have Sunday Brunch kind of pool party every Sunday.. We made reservations for the same as well. Good hotel, surrounded by nature.
My rating is only for lush green view from 2nd floor restaurant. Food is normal for lunch . Not great serving. But staff is very courteous and respectful. But they can add more live counter apart from omelette only.
It's in a beautiful location on the way to Morni Hills on the second floor with a open terrace with bar and a nice view, inside ambiance is also nice open area is nice facing the greenery.

The Location is awesome, unwinding about 2 kms into a hilly terrain off nada sahib road.. It was quite a picturesque sight as we entered into a narrow lane sloping downwards into the hotel.. There is reasonable parking inside which also seems quite secure.
The restaurant is on the 2nd floor.. The adjoining balcony that also has an outdoor seating area offers a very good view of the hilly area nearby.
The buffet costs Rs 999/- for both veg and non veg, inclusive of taxes..
There are no starters of the form that we are so accustomed to. However there is a live counter where u can get dosa, omlette and pasta. You also get beer /soft drink/juice.. 2 glasses..
For vegetarians i found the spread to be very wide.. Perhaps one of the best i have eaten anywhere so far.. Two dals, paneer, veg kofta, one cauliflower dish, a roasted potato dish,mixed veg, noodles.. All quite tasty.. The veg kofta in particular was in a different league altogether.
The desserts had malpua, rabdi, ice cream, pastry, balu shahi..
The stewards were very prompt and caring. Except a few flies that were buzzing around, the overall ambience was quite good. A live singer also added to the pleasant ambience.
I would surely recommend at least one visit to this place(preferably on a pleasant evening) , though the buffet cost is somewhat on the higher side.. My overall experience was good.
