The food here is scrumptious and fingerlicking...the best restaurant in panjim. The hospitality is also very comforting.
The rawa fried prawns were excellent. Mr. Godinho had some tasty choriz pao made for me as well, they make their own Goa sausages btw. I had a glass of chilled port with my meal. It was a great lunch and I will be back when I return to Goa.
Pork Balchao is my favourite at this place.
The food is very tasty, in fact better than some of the other goan restaurants in Panjim, however the service is very very slow. Need to improve with quickness.
So I'd made a visit here as per the advice of old timers who swore by the food. It's old in Godinho and feels comfy. But the service was slow, so slow. We'd ordered Roast Beef (and boy was it good), the poi fresh and the beer cold. I've got to make another trip there for sure.
This place is one of the traditional old school goan restaurant which serves brilliant & authentic goan food. You will get a Portuguese feel when you enter this restaurant. This place serves fish in stuffed reachhad masala. Also the traditional beef & pork dishes here are to die for. Even if you are not well versed with goan names, you can try the simple prawn curry rice and won't be disappointed. However, just like any authentic goan food restaurant in Goa, every order you place will atleast take 25-30 mins before it reaches your table. Trust me guys, it's worth the wait while just sipping some chilled beer!
Pork chops and Cherizo pulav are one of the best in Panjim. If you're looking for a non fancy, old school ambience ad environment with authentic Goan cuisine @ compelling rates.. this is the place to be and eat.
Looking for a typical old Goan Bar and Restaurant in Panaji - go to Godinho's. Basic and no frills - friendly service with food that you can't go wrong with. The Beef, Pork, Fish all are excellent - day's fresh catch. Suggested - Squid Rechado and Goan Sausage Fry as starters with the drinks. Followed by a choice of Kingfish Masala Fry, Bangda (Mackerel) Rawa Fry, Prawn Balchao, Chilly Beef and, of course, Pork Vindaloo (specify spice level). Try with the local Poee or Poi (Bread). Wrap it up with Rice and Fish Curry.

Had pork chops, pork roast and sausage pulao with my cousin yesterday. We are from Assam and needless to say, we love our pork. The roast and pulao were okayish for our tastes (but then we have had a lot of pork and sausages in our lifetime. You might love it) but at least, the quantity certainly made up for it.
But the pork chops were honestly one of the best i've ever had. i wish we'd ordered more. The manager was very helpful indeed. He patiently explained the difference between pork chops and pork cream chops ( the latter is more dry) and recommended we try the pork chops even though the cream chops cost a bit more.
Nice quiet place. Total bill came out around 1000 for us, which along with two beers was good enough. Going to try the pork sizzler today :)
Best places to have goan food. Everything we ordered was perfect with distinct flavours to each dish. We tried the goan style chicken curry, sausage pulav and their beef chilly fry. The sausage pulav is a must try and the beef chilly was one of the best we had in Goa.
A comfortable old-world restaurant for great no-frills comfort food. A personal favorite is the pork chops with salad. The salad is passable, but the pork chops are the best I've had anywhere in Goa. Keep going back for them. Their fish curry meals and biryani are also superb.
Amazing food. They claim the taste to be 80 yrs old with original goan spices, and I have no doubt that they actually do. Try fishes, ull never regret it.
To the purists of Goan cuisine ( and I don't know that many), this place should rate as one of those old school Portuguese joints, full of nostalgia and good food. To me, it was sheer bliss.
Tucked in a by lane right besides the busy Casino lanes of the Mandovi river street, I'd recommend it to anyone who's had a sour taste in those Casinos and their dim witted restaurants.
The Pompret was truly Goan and the roast Pork melted in mouth.... The chicken complimented the beer like Bob Marley's music in a Seaside shack!
The folks at the restaurant, just as the rest of Goans were great hosts and I hope more people visit them.
It is nice! what I ordered a nice steak with fresh fries came in a BIG portion! which is veeeeery nice! and the price justifies the food!!!!!
Top place for authentic Goan food, and a good drink. Located right in the heart of panaji, Godinho is one of those experiences that is a must for all those who visit Goa. I like the chicken cafreal but many of my friends find it spicy. While placing the order ensure you order only Goan food. This place is consistent, value for money and good. If you live in Panjim and havent been here, i think you should try it once at least.
Lovely Goan food. Nice place to chill out with a beer and some Meat! From spicy sausage to Juicy beef! I would recommend the pork roast.. Absolutely loved it!
When in Goa, go for sea food is the dictum.
Goldinho's was a great experience for lunch. Some delicious squid masala, prawn curry, fish curry and shrimp fried rice.
Their steak is also juicy with tasty sauce & worth a try .
A quaint place in central Panjim & not crowded. Decent service & courteous staff.
The place that i run to every time i land in Goa is Godinhos. The chicken cafreal is to die for. Great food at affordable prices , thats all that you want.
Godinho's 😍
My love for this place is biased.
My food journals first entry of Goa was Godinho's and its so worth it.
I loved the pork chops here from the first bite I had 8 years ago and love it the same today.
They make awesome chicken lollipops 🍗
And have really nice sizzlers too.
This place is so Goan you'd understand once you enter.
For my dose of Goan Nostalgia I always head to Godinho's.
A classic rum and coke with some awesome food makes this place heaven.
I highly recommend this place for a taste and glimpse of Goa.
Keep up the good work Godinho's.
I miss the earlier Godinho when it was a non AC restaurant & bar with a music mixer .. The street was not noisy and the watch simply was slow..quiet and Goan.
Now with the AC and street door closed, it's different.. The music is great and on demand , food is fantastic, prices have gone way up..in Panjim, no other place but Godinho..
I was passing by Goa to Gokarna when I dropped by for a quick lunch. Tried Gin with Tonic. Beef steak is great here. Cost effective and good taste. Cozy place. Good for small gathering.
Try out if you wish.
Been there a couple of times.. THE place for goan cuisine! Goan sausages available too, which I loved. Good ambience. Great people. Will definitely recommend this place!!
Had prawns biryani here. It had a nice balance of authentic goan spices and wonderfully cooked rice. Also the ambience is great.A nice place to go out with your family as well. Overall a very good outing.
A nice, quite place if you in the mood for some Goan beef of pork dishes. They do justice to chicken and seafood too. In all, a pleasant experience! :)
Amazing place in the heart of Panjim! The chicken cafrael and beef chilly was delicious 🤌🏼and our beef steaks were cooked nicely and seasoned well. Overall an amazing place to eat some delicious beef dishes!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Godinho Bar and Restaurant in Panaji, and it was an extraordinary experience. The beef steak with Mushroom sauce was a divine masterpiece – perfectly cooked and bursting with heavenly flavors. The Mushroom sauce paired seamlessly with the beef, creating an amazing culinary symphony.
Beyond the steak, the squid masala fry, Goan chouriço chilly fry, pork roast, and crispy chicken were all equally impressive. Each dish showcased the rich and authentic flavors of Goan cuisine, leaving a lasting impression on my taste buds.
The cozy environment added to the overall charm of the dining experience, making it a perfect place to indulge in some truly awesome Goan culinary delights. I wholeheartedly recommend Godinho Bar and Restaurant to anyone seeking an exceptional dining experience in Panaji.
Very tasty squid
One of the best
Had squid butter garlic (very creamy n full of taste)
It gives very foreign vibes
Also thali was the really nice (chonak thali)
Sadly forgot to take food pictures
Good food, service, and cold beer on a hot day! Pork roast was brilliant but good for a group, cos that was all i could eat. Portuguese insignia plastered all over the walls made for an interesting look.
One of the best restaurants I have ever been to. The waiter uncle was so friendly he treated us like special guests. Also the owner of the hotel who is very young he came to us and suggested the best dishes and also he explained how it is cooked. I would love you visit there again ❤️
The food was awesome and I strongly recommend trying the Goan dishes such as pork roast, vindaloo, beef tongue and beef chilli. The music system needs to be upgraded, as the music selection is beautiful but for some strange reason the volume suddenly gets loud and needs to be tuned lower. The ambience is very nice and the waiters are friendly. It is definitely a place for a good family lunch or dinner.
It is located in the heart of Panjim. The restaurant is decorated well. The starters were excellent. Really delicious. The main course was good. The beef steaks are loaded with gravy. The service was a bit slow.
We stayed in Panji for 3 days and we wanted to try some authentic goan food. Major problem was , we are vegetarians and we were not finding any options
Gondinho was just next to our hotel and the hotel owner suggested to visit it
The restaurant as such is a pretty small one. You will enter to a hall , where they have some 3 tables. And another room is there with some extra tables
Food was really good - We tried 2 different goan side dishes ( both with Butter Naan )
• Vegetable xacuti
• Vegetable Vindaloo
Out of them Xacuti was best. Vindaloo was also good, however we liked Xacuti more
We also tried Veg biriyani, it was really flavorful and tasty
We went in the Christmas time. There was an old gentleman wearing Santa hat, and serving food. A very cheerful personality, me and my wife were really impressed by his enthusiasm at that age. We requested to take a photo with him and he immediately agreed. I don’t know the name of the man, but cant forget his cheerful and happy attitude
I recommend this place if you are looking to taste some good food ( some goan food too )
I tried the overrated chicken cafreal and i now know why it's too overrated because it's too good! It's a must try🫶🏼
Good food service , with fine dining you can have chilled beer on hot days. The waiter was so nice and friendly and the food suggested by him was so delicious.
Visited during lunch hours with my wife, ordered the beef steak and pork chop. Both were very well made but the former was impeccable. Do yourself a favour and order poi to mop up the gravy.
Has a sleepy, old world vibe to it which we loved personally. Go for a leisurely meal.
I love restaurant come bar ... nice strategy in there... very nice atmosphere..and unexpectable good qualities dinks serve in their... good service and staff's behaviour also good.. food sefty and hygiene maintenance aslo good...❤️❤️
Excellent food - the Chicken Caldin and Sausage Pulao were especially great. The ambience is also warm and cozy in a way that feels lived-in and authentic, unlike the usual Goan shacks and restaurants which look made-up primarily to attract tourists.
The menu offers a wide range of dishes to choose from, each with its own unique twist on traditional flavors. From the appetizers to the main course, everything was cooked with perfection and bursting with flavours .
The bar also offers an impressive selection of drinks, including a range of wines, beers, and cocktails. I highly recommend trying one of their signature cocktails, which had the right balance of flavors.
