This place has the perfect ambience and food to offer. Often crowded with business men and students, Sher e Punjab definitely has the best dishes made from pure ghee giving it the much needed Punjabi Tadka.
If you are looking for north Indian food in Goa , this is the best place to go. Tasty food excellent service and lot of variety . amazing place for food ,must visit
Good food! Worth the money and good ambience too. Veg and Non-veg food both is good. Ordered Paneer Makhani and Masala Kulcha, Brownie with ice-cream..Liked it all..;)
This is amongst one of my favorite place. I have been visiting this place since childhood. Their chicken 65 and Cheese balls are my favorite♥♥
Also do try this drunken brownie.. Its amazing..
Highly recommend this place..
Classic as the name suggests.
Came here for a casual lunch and cheese balls have stolen my heart. Great taste. Super Value
For money. Easy access . Centrally located. Classic ambience.
Try their platters. Kababs are a must to try.
Great ambience.... Polite staff... Must visit for the mutton masala.... Also the biryani was good.... strange thing was that they were giving pan after having food which is something not easily seen in Goan restaurants but it says Punjab classic. So 😬
One of the best places for Indian food. Neat , clean and well organised.
The quality of food is undoubtedly superior. For the sweet tooth there is a variety to indulge in.
Got to know about this place from Social media food here is amazing especially the chicken biryani!
Kebabs also are just delicious.
This place is a must visit!
Ambiance is pretty, staff here are very polite and guide you well with the menu.
DO NOT FORGET THE GULAB JAMUN!
Sher e Punjab classic is located on the busy streets of panjim. There are many sher e punjabs in goa, so don’t get confused for this one. Google maps helps you to reach place pretty straight. This one is located on the first floor. The place is pretty lit and has a simple decor. Perfect for large groups, families and friends. One side of the restaurant is overlooking the streets with glass walls, loved that part. They have comfortable chairs and tables to enjoy your meal at leisure. This place specializes in north Indian food with variants of tandoors and gravies.
Few checks
Food - vegetarian and non vegetarian
Alcohol - Yes
Service – On time
Cost – pretty reasonable
Seating – huge groups
Staff – trained and friendly
Some dishes to try:
Surmai Fry – may favorite from the evening. Perfectly marinated and coated in spices. It goes well with a sprinkle of lemon on it. The fish was perfectly cooked.
Vegetarian Platter – the Platter consisted of Cheese balls, Palak pakoda, corn pakoda and Veg kebab. Every starter on that plate was equally delicious.
Non vegetarian platter – It had fish tikka, chicken tikka, chicken seekh kebab and malai kebab. Absolutely loved the seek kebab and fish tikka. Loved how the spices and meat complimented each other.
Malai Kulfi – They make their own kulfi. They served the kulfi as a deconstructed version of falooda. The kulfi had the perfect balance of sugar and texture. Accompanied Rabdi enhanced the taste of the dessert.
It is a perfect place to go for a heavy and tasty dinner accompanied by your family/friends.
Visited here with vegetarian company for a hearty dinner. We ordered the regular favorites - Vegetable Makhanwala, Paneer Tikka, Butter roti, Vegetable Biryani, Sweet Lassi and Kulfi with Rabdi.
Food was excellent. Paneer was soft and creamy and well marinated. The kulfi with rabdi was the icing on the cake. We could not stop at one. We were pleasantly surprised and delighted to have truly authentic and delicious Punjabi food in Goa.
We were very well taken care of by Mr. Karuna. Thanks for your excellent service!
Butter garlic prawns are the best i had in goa so far. The place has a long history. My parents loved the place when they came here first 20yrs ago and recently we all visited together and the food is exactly how i had imagined. Delicious!
GREAT FOOD! Amazing ambiance, the servers here suggest you the right things! all the tandoor preparations i had here were excellent, Malai tikka was the best of all!
*Mutton bhunao* is one preparation you cant miss here.... and to top it all the deserts.. are just heavenly...!!! best north Indian food you'll get in Panaji...
Situated right in the midst of the market, this the place for north indian food lovers. With an range of kebabs and non vegetarian options, you can have delightful meal without feeling a pinch in the pockets. Do try their malai kulfi dishes.
Food 4/5
Ambience 3.5/5
I really liked the butter chicken as it is really hard to find good butter chicken in Goa. and i loved the ambience.. i liked food. i liked service as well. it was a great experince.
Briyani cravings on Eid led us to Sher E Punjab.. Easily located in the heart of Panaji this is a big spacious outlet.
I had mixed feelings and wasn't sure about what to expect but my friends talked highly of this place..
On eating their Biryani I thought it was the best Biryani I've had by far at any restaurant ♥️. Their servings were large and a good amount of Raita to go with it. As an accompaniment we ordered the Chicken Peshawari which was also something I ate for the first time and it was yum!
To top it all off, at the end of our meal we were served Paan which again I was a first timer at, but realized it's not my type of food..
Overall a superb experience! Will definitely visit again.
Food: 5/5
Ambience: 4/5
Service: 5/5
Value for money: 4.5/5
Sher e punjab classic is one of the oldest mughlai/punjabi food outlet in Goa. The classic outlet of Sher e Punjab definitely has the classic touch to its ambience, food and service. As for the food we ordered the kebab which was nice, we also ordered jeera rice and dal makhani. I enjoyed the combination but was a bit disappointed with jeera rice as I didn’t get the flavour of the authentic jeera and ghee taste. As for the service, two words late service. Overall it was a decent outing.
Without a doubt, perfect place to have north Indian food especially Punjabi. We ordered chicken butter masala, paneer butter masala, dal makhani ,biryani and something else as well and none of the food disappointed our tongue.but service needs to be healthy in terms of their presentation.
Awesome food at decent price. Sher E Punjab serves some exquisite, tasty and quality Punjabi food. If you are looking for tasty North Indian food then this would be the best place. We ordered chicken Tikka masala, Kadhai Chicken, Dal, naan and all very rich in taste and quality.
Ambience is good with a proper serving and well-behaved staff!
The only reason for this rating is that because this restaurant needs to work on their ambience a little.
I went to this place for a lunch, and being a Punjabi I expected good Punjabi taste here, keeping in mind the name and everything.
We ordered, kaju curry, dal tadka, and one chicken preperation. Before that we had manchow soup, all of it which was super good.
Medium spicy and perfect blend of spices exactly how it is supposed to be in punjabi's food.
Then for dessert we ordered a caramel custard and chocolate mousse which again was mouth watering and all sugary in the mouth.
The service as well was quick and waiters were all quick to respond.
Just that the ambience was fine. They can work on their interiors a little. They even serve liquor at quite a reasonable price.
Their restaurant is a like all Punjabi restaurants who are known best as a host and serving food with utter love and professionalism. The food was great as mostly we ordered all Punjabi cuisine. They are located in center of Panjim market though parking is an issue at all tourist places but it was over all good. For north Indians who visit Goa ( specifically for official purpose) this place is a saviour for those who want their regular food always when not on holiday.
Mixed reviews for this place..they gave colouring books and crayon to kids once settled in and was a good gesture..being from delhi, standard order was chicken makhani and dal makhani along with soups. Chicken Makhani preparation was great and so was the soup.. Dal Makhani was totally dissapointing with a lot of garlic beung used in the tadka resulting into a very bad preparation..
Absolutely loved it. They care for children and young kids.
Ask for bhuna Rara mutton with laccha paranthas with mushroom matar believe me you can't go wrong.
As name suggests Sher e Punjab they justify it.
Loved it
Really nice north Indian food in Goa with proper ambiance and service.Must try Chicken cafrel here. @@
Suprada Gurrala Alvares
+3.5
This place serves some really good North Indian food and kebabs. The grills are good. Loved the tandoori prawns, pahadi chicken and chicken tikka. Amazing cheese balls. It's a must try here. Good fish tikka and biryani. Good ambience and prompt service.
This restaurant is one of the oldest restaurant serving some delicious Mughlai food with a fine dining experience. I have visited this place very often, whenever i wish to have some tandoori food in Panaji. I visited this place last Sunday with my family and ordered the chicken tikka, chicken Banjara kebab, fish tikka, cheese balls (the size was a bit unusual) and pahadi chicken for starters. For main course we ordered a chicken biryani. All the dishes were cooked well and tasted delicious. Since it's a fine dining Mughlai restaurant, the pricing was on a higher side but the ambience and service was really good. I would surely suggest this place to everyone either visiting or residing in Goa as a must visit place for Mughlai food or cuisine.
Being an ardent fan of Sher E Punjab, Kolaghat, I was very excited to try this Goan cousin. The food did not disappoint, except for the Dal Makhani, but the service was outright terrible. The staff, at one point, moved to another table whilst we were placing our order, and that too on a Monday lunch. All said and done, do try this place. The food is amazing, but avoid the Feni.
Super food, great hospitality, clean ambience (just what you need), perfect lassi. Great seating arrangements. I like the glass view during the day..
Good punjabi food in goa but a little expensive on pocket. Portion sizes are less. Taste wise 4 out of five. Price wise 3 out of 5. But one of the only places for good north indian food in goa.
Brilliant, Authentic, Wonderful Punjabi food in Panaji. Price is on higher side, which is somewhat expected due to its prime location in market area.
Walked in to this place for a friend's birthday treat. Was blown away by the Indian fare. The paneer we ordered were so soft and melted in your mouth- just what you want. Same can be said for the chicken as well. The food was cooked according to our preference- neither too spicy nor too sweet. The service and ambience was good. Food wasn't too pricey for the quantity served.
Oh, and the sweet paan as mouth freshener added a nice touch.
Nice spacious restaurant.. Staff were good at service..had simple veg kofta n chappati...we ordered little spicy but it was not upto our mark..but was gud..
When I had gone to Goa on holidays a while back my family there took me here and I loved the food.
The taste and flavours of spices, the aromas and the food presentation was mouth watering.
Nice ambience... Nice people too...Its a great place to visit with family away from the crowded beaches for a change and also for those tired of the seafood or ones like me who don't eat seafood... I was kinda finally full...I had struggled for a couple of days searching nice chicken and I bumped into this place... I had chicken biriyani... It was great...I least expected one of my finest biriyani experience to be in Goa and here I was... Its reasonably priced... Its a nice change away from the crowded beach shacks and calming too...
All that we ordered was delicious. The Chicken Biryani, Chicken Tandoori and a green gravy dish....A waiter from Assam new his stuff. Convenient location, ambience good, cleanliness can be improved by a few points...but overall presentable and family approachable place.
Good authentic North Indian food.. But the ambiance can go for a make over.. It was smelly, very ordinary sitting place.. The service was ok..overall just go to this page for the food..
Looking for north indian food in goa ? This place will serve you very tasty food. Expensive but you see its not the local cuisine hence they charge a premium to bring to you quality pubjabi taste.
Wanted to go veg and hence decided to visit here
Seeking veg options to dine out in Goa is always a challenge and this place does meet ecpectations keeping this fact in mind
Had mixed veg kadhai, dal tadka, steamed rice , makkai rotis.
Had pina colada and it was ok...not great because seemed like it had more of pineapple juice and little blend of cream.
Overall taste was good and the restaurant is clean and has decent inetriors with good Ac .
Size of servings was ok...we were 3 of us and not too hungry and hence it was good for us.
Service was good and didnt take longer than 10-15mins for us to be served after placing our order
Taxes are downer in all these joints now and just keep this in mind if you budget concious because the prices in the menu are on the higher side anyways.
Service charge is not levied though.
Id say is a good place to go with family or guests and i will visit again
Good ambience and service. A nice and quiet place. Apt location. The chicken 65 here is a must-have. Also try the chicken Patiala for main course. My recommendation would be to have it with garlic nān.
I went here on recommendation by a few friends. The ambience is decent. The food was pretty good.
Veg must have: Paneer Tikka (Tandoor) !
The only problem was the slow service :|
This place is located in the center on Panjim city / main high street, it's a spacious restaurant mostly known for its Vegetarian Thalis.
Tha ambience is very Nice & Pleasant , Most Importantly very Calm.
Service by the staff was very courteous & prompt & were very friendly.
Coming to food , we had ordered their Veg Thali , every dish in a thali including the sweets were really tasty , they literally bombard you with dish after dish as the thali comes in unlimited package 😄😋
Overall the Place is nice , Ambience is amazing , staff is good , Top quality & a taste to remember vegetarian food.
I know no ones goes to Goa to eat vegetarian food... but if you think you need to relish your veg taste buds then this place is a must go, they will bombard you with dish after dish of good vegetarian dishes... good place for a peaceful meal
The taste is awesome, and yummy with best service .and 100% taste satisfaction. Earlier thali was best few years back. Thanks to Vikram sir and their team to make breakfast ,lunch best .
Enjoyed the meal but not very allergy friendly... they served Kiwi drink, cudnt enjoy it... and no replacement for the same.
You really don't want to miss this! An amazing place, affordable. It actually reminds of Gujrat!
Top quality and taste to remember food vegetarian food. Highly recommended.
Its fr veg lovers... In thali u'll get unlimited food... Servicing is quite good.. They serve u dishes one by one..
Authentic Gujarati Thali ( blend of Gujarati and Marwari cuisine)
This was the one of the finest Gujarat cuisine. Ambiance was great. I had Gujarati Thali, quality and quantity was good and it’s quite recommendable. I felt like place was bit pricey but doesn’t burn a hole in your pocket.
PROS:
It was EXCELLENT the food came in just 10 minutes every thing is sanitized the waiter was friendly the taps, soap dispenser is automatic.
CONS:
Expensive like rs150 for a rs40 can of sprite,rs 400 for a burger and a really small portion of chips like 15 pieces
Overall 4/5
Nice, calm and pleasant ambience. Had lunch. Nice food. But overall, it was the courteous and prompt service by the staff. However it is appropriate to mention that the tables are bit smaller in size which we found a little uncomfortable in placing all the dishes.
If you are in Panji and wants Gujrati food just go for it. Superb food, superb service.
Good Gujrati food and jain food both are excellent value for money.
The place is definitely great if you want to eat heartily and not make a decision of what to eat. Almost all the food items in the thali were delicious and the desert was immaculate. The only trouble was that they don't clean the tables quick enough so even if you find a place to sit, it's possible the table will have the dishes of the previous customers and you have to tell the staff to clean it up.
