If you are in Goa and craving for some tasty south indian food then this is the place..
It's located near panjim church lane opposite municipal garden.
Have tried idli, medu vada and batata vada.
Atleast one visit is must for breakfast.
Our driver introduced us to this pure vegetarain restaurant in Panjim
What did I order?
Veg noodles - Asked them to load it with veggies, we'll they did it, taste above average
Thali - Well if you are hungry, you should definitely try this one as its sufficient for one person
Masala dosa - did not themasala though, dosa batter was okay, sambhar, chutney all had good taste
Well every vegetarain who's been to Goa would not find tasty food, so comparing everything, most restaurants, I found this place pleasing, peaceful, worth going with family and the food is quiet good when compared to prices. So one can definitely trust this one if searching for pure vegetarain
Kamat does not need any special introduction. It is such a famous and old restaurant and serving people for ages. The food here is absolutely fantastic. I had Rava Masala Dosa, Sweet Lassi and the dosa was lip-smackingly good. There is always waiting at this restaurant which tells us how popular it is.
The place was nice and it was saviour for us as we drove all the way from siolim to here hungry. We came to see the church after finish seeing the church we started looking for good restaurants and just after taking a few steps we found our destination. The service is good and food was nice too, Dosa and idli. sambhar and chutney were nice too. But dosa masala didn't have consistency. Chai and nimbu soda were good too.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED Whenever I am in Goa I do visit this place. I have been coming here since my childhood days. TASTE- the taste hasn't changed in years, it remains the same. The speciality of this place is the Goan thali that they serve during lunch and dinner hours it consists of authentic Goan vegetarian food. Pav bhaji falooda and tawa pulao are highly recommended and they all taste pretty good. AMBIANCE- it has two floors the ground floor is non AC and the first floor is AC space is an issue but it gives you authentic feel how old goan restaurants look like. SERVICE- the service is quite fast and within minutes your food is brought to you the staff also is nice, most of them can speak Hindi and reply. VALUE FOR MONEY-the food here is quite cheap and quantity is sufficient ,if you are looking for a place to fulfill your hunger in a constrained budget then this is the place for you. I have always had a pleasant experience whenever I am here.Do try this Taste🍽️-9.0 Ambiance🤩-8.0 Service 🙋- 9.0 Value for money💲-9.5 Average (9.00) Total- (9.00*10) =90.0/100 Rating-5 star🌟
We have been to Kamat several times during the previous Goa visits but this time I felt that the quality earlier was much better.
This is a fast food type of vegetarian restaurant located in the city center. Very convenient location with road side parking. Upon entry you have three options the small place on the left the one on the right next to cashier counter and airconditioned hall upstairs. We ordered plain uttapam, fried rice, daal khichdi and tea. Uttapam was just ok, daal khichdi is much better at nearby Rajdhani hotels Nandan restaurant which remain open at night for 30 minutes more after Kamat is closed and the fried rice was close to getting spoiled as per my observation. Tea was nice though. Just outside the shop there is Panvala and he does good business as well. Because of location and fast turnaround Kamat is always crowded throughout the day. Also on display at the entrance are few brightly colored sweet varieties but Big Mishra nearby is a better choice.
There are more & more vegetarian options available now in Panjim & Kamat will have to do something better or different to make a mark for repeat customer visits.
Had visited this restaurant earlier which is located near municipal garden. They have variety of offerings but I chose to have South Indian Thaali. It was damn good. Kudos!!!
It happens to be one of the oldest restaurants I might have dined in! My parents tell me, they have been visiting here since they were kids and what fascinates me is how the restaurant has still maintained its standards throughout. The ambiance is very clean and hygienic for a simple budget-friendly south Indian restaurant. They have a wide range of dishes to serve but I usually prefer to stick to the south Indian because that is their specialty. Therefore this restaurant never disappoints, I have tried different dosas, Dahi Vada or even their pav bhaji and everything extremely good. At a very prime location that it is located, we make it a point to visit here during our every vacation in Goa.
It is located at the main road of Panjim, just in front of the Panjim church. They serve really good veg food and always crowded. We visit this place everytime we are in Panjim. Prices are also really reasonable and service is pretty fast.
Must try:
Cheese pao bhaji
Filter coffee

Me and my family had an afternoon lunch at Kamat's during our recent trip to Goa. It is a very good restaurant with amazing food at affordable rates. We paid 280rs for our food and we three were more than full after our tasty lunch. Wish Kamat's had a branch here in Delhi as well.
This place is my Go to restaurant in Panjim. It just NEVER disappoints. The food is always to the point and there are absolutely no non sense items on the menu. The ambience can be improved but the upper section is decent enuf for families. Recommended for everyone.
Hi all,
Welcome back to the food review everybody.Last week i had been to goa and while coming back had to take a bus from panji bis stand.Being hungry thought of having good snacks around panji and everyone said kamats hotel.
So i decided to visit this place and i must say it was worth it.
We ordered the following:-
1)Puri bhaji:-
It was 4 hot puris and one classic green bhaji which is a goan speciality. I must say that the taste was too good.
If you are in goa you must try their local bhaji pav which they say is a mix of aloo and white chana mixed with gravy and tomatoes or sometimes in a green gravy.
2) Samosa:-
They said it was hot and just made so we tried having it and it was a good try.Being a mumbaiker not the ideal classic samosa but still nice aloo mutter stuffing which was ok.
3)Onion uthappa:-
This was the best onion uthappa i had i must say.
For the price and for the size and quality it was just too good.Nicely evenly spread onions and spices spread on uthappa and crispy on sides.
I must also mention their chatni and sambar was very good and they serve it on demand.
4)Masala dosa:-
The onion uthappa was so nice that we ordered the masala dosa as we were pleasantly happy with the South indian dishes. The dosa was huge and crisp and i must say being a mumbaiker the south indian dishes are just too good.
Verdict:-
If you are in panji and you wanna hop into some snacks like local bhaji pav or south Indian dishes then kamat hotel is the place you must visit.
Also they serve very good lunch thali.
My friends from Delhi went nuts when they saw Kamat and ignored my pleas for some Goan breakfast fare.
Lazy breakfast at Kamat, Panaji; great taste, large portions. We ordered rawa dosa, masala dosa, friend idli, chhola bhtura and medu wada. The chhola bhatura was a far cry from what you would eat in the NCR but it was nice version nevertheless.
The service is quick and the ambience is functional. If you sit by the long picture window on the first floor, you get a nice view of the market square.
I think the best North indian food in Goa is at this simple place. The chutney was super spicy. The size of Idli was good and price is cheap as well. Great location did i metion to forget. It will get pretty crowded in the afternoon

For a Mumbaikar who misses the food back home this is the place to be. A typical Mumbai type Udupi restaurant. We tried the thali and dosa. Good enough and vfm. Give it a try.
Excellent food. Good staff with quick service. Ideal place for vegetarians visiting the city of Panaji. Chinese food is a bit odd in taste. Would visit again for sure.
Kamat’s is a famous Vegetarian restaurant. On our recent trip to Goa, We decided to try out this place. My family members went for Veg Thali. They liked it. I decided to go for Masala Dosa. It was good. Masala Dosa was served with two types of Chutney & sambhar. It tasted good. Over all food was good.
Best option for vegetarians in panjim. This hotel is located near Chruch square. The seating is ample. The place is not so clean.
Things we tried:-
1)Idli Sambhar - Fluffy idlis are served with sambhar snd chatni. The consistency of sambhar is good. The chatni tastes good as other udapi hotels. The only thing that disappointed me was they don't give dipped idli sambhar.
2)Paper Dosa - Crispy and well cooked dosa with a huge amount of batata bhaji. A good meal for 1.
3)Cheese Pavbhaji - Tasty pavbhaji consisting of veggies mashed together neatly and sprinkled with a good amount of cheese. This is also a sufficient meal for 1. Must try.
4)Veg cutlet - Vegetables mashed and covered with cornflour and deep fried. Too good. Loved the taste
5)Puri bhaji - Bhaji consists of mix gravy of potato and chana. Tastes good with the fluffy puris.
6)Pineapple Sheera - A must have after a good breakfast.
Overall, a good place to have veg food when in panjim. The only thing they lack, according to me is that they dont serve main course. Everything else is on point.
Taste - 4/5

Kamat Hotel is the perfect stop for having breakfast and has got a plenty of options. The restaurant is nice and clean. I have visited this place a number of times and always find the food quality same.
Location is on the main road - next to Panjim Church.
Make sure to try the Puri & Aloo Bhaji and Vada. They prepare it so well. 👌👍👌
Highly Recommend - Puri & Aloo Bhaji, Vada, Masala Dosa, Tea/Coffee

The food is really very very good. We ate dosa. It is good in test. Excellent food in panjim.when i will visit Goa again I will definitely to come and eat again.
At Bus stand, Paper masala dosa was ex exceptionally good but not sambhar, chatni. Service was very good. Idli was just OK. Ambience is reasonably good.
Two words: Fast & Decent.
Though the walk up 1st floor may be a hassle in case of elders or anyone facing issues with their leg.
This place is bustling with people and is crowded. The food is served fast and is of decent taste.
Suggestion: with their fast fans food is best eaten hot.
Burrp! Enjoy!
Had south Indian breakfast over there. The food was yummy. Must visit when you are in panjim and you want to eat south Indian meals. The service was fast.
Been here multiple times, mostly for quick snacks. South Indian menu is worth trying indeed.there faloodas are good too. Usually a busy place, might have to wait if u go at peak hours. Service is quite good.
Over Kamat's spice test with various south Indian dishes like dosa .uttappa.puri bhaji with good preparation
Cooperative staff
Cleanliness maintained but a/c room area upstairs need to expand and over all ambience change is required
This is a good place for south indian dishes like dosa idly..we ordered lunch thali, dosa and uthappam..the taste is decent, thali comes with sweet plane rice, chepathi or poori, curd, dal rasam, sambar and 2 curries, papad..Quantity is good for a price of rs 180 lunch thali..then dosa size is big and uthappam is good..as usal accompany with standard samabar and chutny..
Went for lunch at this place. They have limited variety for lunch over snacks dishes very more. So we order a Punjabi thali which had bhendi sabji. Dal, rice, sahi, Puri, aloo sabji, tandali, gulab jamun the taste was nice. Also order schewan fried rice whivh was also good. In dessert order gulab jamun and ice-cream.
It was a delight to see this place after 4days of dhaba eating in Goa. We went and sat in d AC section upstairs, bcoz d self service n Non-Ac was full. Ordered Masala Dosa, Toast-Butter-Jam. Dosa was huuuuuuge!!!! Can easily b enough for 2ppl. Chutney n Sambar tasted good, not as good as in Blr though. Prices r a tad bit high. Quick service!!!
It's a good destination to have breakfast. Disha and poori items are yummy. It doesn't have enough space to accommodate a crowd seating arrangement is so tightly packed. May be ambience lovers won't like it's ambience
Nice place in heart of Panjim , ordered Chola Bhatura and Pav Bhaji with tea , decent size portion and tastes as you expect .
Great Value for Money !!
Legendary place has been around for a really long time .. it has stood the test of time so u know u will get value for money here. Perfect place for a meal
South Indian Food was good.pav bhaji was ok.staff was not that much co operative.overall good budget hotel in Panjim city.try South Indian..
In the middle of Panaji this place can't go unnoticed. It basically happened by chance. I wanted to visited the Panaji church or so it's called officially "The Our Lady of the immaculate Conception Church" thanks to Dil Chahta Hai. Clicking pictures I just saw this place across the street. Having a huge appetite for South Indian food I was quite desperate to visit this joint.
I was a bit skeptical as the conception goes true that you can't find good idli dosa in goa. But I was wrong. The food is delicious and quantity size is decent. Food quality and service are impeccable.
The things to have:
1. Masala Dosa
2. Rava onion masala Dosa
3. Tava Pulav
4. Pani Puri (to my surprise this turned to be good)
5. Chikoo Shake
6. Pista Falooda
Light on the pockets. Must place to visit if you are having difficulty finding a vegetarian place in goa.
Cheers people. Happy Munching :)
Location wise it's good
staff is good friendly and helping
food
Quantity wise it's huge
Can have only idli vada upma n snacks but not the masala or Rava masala dhosa food lacks the spice and was bland also it gets crowded often and you need to wait 15-20 mins for your turn
Drove all the from porvarim to panji to have brunch in kamats . Had heard a lot about this .and it was worth going there .we ordered poori bhaji, rava dosa, onion uthappa, chola bhatura and it was delicious i will definitely recommend this for veggies VEGGIES RECOMMEND
Decent place for refreshing your taste buds and the lazy mornings on a holiday to goa after a marathon of sea food and booze.
Try simple food, don't go fancy.
Only one problem for tourists, if they are planning to have a good meal than sorry to disappoint you dont get north Indian food only south indian and Chinese both the cuisines are good
Best South Indian option in town. The place has 2 sections with a AC section at first floor. Food here is always good and tasty. Coffee is ever refreshing! The service is always quick and prompt.
Bhaji Puri, mushroom bhaji, some chai or filter coffee, the place is eat and go. After mass everyone comes here for some quick grub and head home this was a must stop after our trip from old goa before we took the bus home

Nice location. It is a south Indian family restaurant. Delicious meals and breakfast. Found it slightly crowded, may be due to the holiday season and many families staying nearby.
Hunting for vegetarian joints in Goa is no mean task. Finding Kamat's was no less than a miracle for us. Our cabbie strongly recommended it after initially frowning to know that we were vegetarians. The place is in the heart of Panaji, barely a hundred meters from the church. Cozy seating. Good service. And most importantly awesome food. We ordered South Indian thali and a couple of Chinese dishes. Everything was amazingly good. Go for it if you are in Goa!
Being a vegetarian it's very difficult to find good in coastal regions n with that thought I arrived in Goa.. But to my surprise it didn't take me much time to find this place.. Located near very famous landmark, it's not very difficult to find it.. Menu has very limited options n which comprises of South Indian delicacies.. We were hungry so ordered a plate meal with a doubt if maharashtrians can eat south indian thali but when v tried each n every thing on the plate we changed our view and started and the whole thing was finished in not more than 20 min.. Must try for every veggie out there..

It's crowded as there are tourists everywhere and when you go here don't expect a clean environment for some people it's a strict no but sometimes you have to such it up and adjust so when you do that you won't regret because of the heavenly dosas ,vadas,Poori and coffees.
Will I Visit again?
Definitely as this is the best option for South Indian food in goa
Verdict-Good
A nice place to have breakfast if you arrive in Goa early morning. The South Indian dishes are good and you get great coffee at Kamat's. The staff is courteous and and also loads of space for parking opposite the restaurant. The only drawback is it opens at 8
We had decided to visit Kamat atleast once on our Goa trip, so visited yesterday for dinner. The restaurant is situated opposite to Municipal garden on Immaculate conception Church road, so finding the place won't be much of a problem.
PARKING: Parking for two wheeler is available in front of the restaurant.
AMBIENCE: It's a two floor setup with non A/c service hall on the ground floor and A/c hall on the first floor. The restaurant is kept clean.
FOOD: Had ordered Masala dosa and poori bhaji. The dosa was good though the taste wasn't like what we get at their Karnataka outlets. Poori bhaji was ok. Overall it's a good option for someone looking for South Indian food.
SERVICE & COST: Service was good and quick. Prices are reasonable.
Food and service is fabulous. Had gone in the evening and ordered batata wada and coffee. It was amazing. Staff is courteous and service is fast. One of the best veg restaurants in Panjim.

Well, it's a life saver for vegetarians in Goa! After the cruise ride on river Mandovi, i was searching for a decent Vegetarian restaurant & surprisingly, Kamat was right behind us. Since, it's a Karnataka style restaurant, without any second thought I opted for a Plate Meals & My Wifey ordered Paper Masala Dosa. The quality of the ingredients used are good & taste is no where matches to the outlets in Karnataka with respect to South Indian Plate Meals. However, the Paper Dosa was perfect but chutney was spoiled & watery. The place has old decor but well maintained. Don't forget to take Pan once you step out of the Kamat.
Great Veg restaurant. We have taken heavy breakfast and we decided to order limited food but when we tasted the food we were can't stop us order more. South Indian thali and Masala dosa were good and mouth watering.
Tasty budget meal option. Located in the heart of Panjim city the reataurant is a good option to try on a lazy afternoon.
The reestaurant does not have north Indian veg and roti options. However it has brilliant south Indian, Pav bhaaji, chinese and other snacks.
A must try at least once :)
This place is a veg lovers breakfast heaven. Located right at the main road it's easily spotted and given the prime location at Panaji one would think this could be another of those high end place that are heavy on the pockets - well wrong!
Despite the location the place is unlike any other great Udipi restaurants. They have a great variety of Udipi/ South Indian, North Indian, Chinese and Continental all at a great pocket friendly price.
I have tried the grilled sandwiches- all of them which are excellent. Masala dosa, rava dosa, onion uttapa, Puri bhaji, idli sambar, wada sambar. All are absolute delicious and leave you filled and happy. The price is a plus.
This place is a great breakfast point if staying in Panaji. Though finding a seat could be a bit difficult at times as it's always bustling with tourist crowd.
PS- don't forget to try their tea/ coffee. They are just perfect.
Quick service place very near to the Panjim church. Can take a coffee break from sightseeing.. Masala dosa was yum and so was their coffee.. Place is popular among residents here.
The place to go for an out of the world veggie experience. The seating is not much and you'd be lucky to find a place during peak hours. But the food speaks for itself.
Went for an early brunch ordered out of the breakfast menu. The table was filled with cheese onion uttapa ( called uttapam up north), idly vada, puri bhaaji, dahi vada, butter dosa, rava masala dosa, batata vada. Along with chilled butter milk, cold coffee and the most incredible dry fruit falooda. Everything was as I mentioned earlier just out of the world.
A pure vegetarian restaurant in Goa with amazing price and such a great food with good hospitality
Love the cocam
Rasam n South Indian food
Quick service amazing coffee great location! We went there for a quick coffee and then took a stroll down to the church on a balmy sat afternoon. The coffee is superb and location probably one of the best in panji. We weren't v hungry so wanted bread toast along with our coffee. We were promptly rod that it will take a while like about 10-15 mins?? Rather disappointing for such a simple "dish" so we skipped the toast and had basic untoasted bread butter... :( all in all a good experience.. Hence 3.5
Much is said about this place. And yes, it's true. Anything you try has a great taste here. But the best is chole bhaturey!!!! It's a must must must must MUST TRY!!! It is the best chole bhaturey i ever had in my entire life. Just amazing!
Kamat's
A busy breakfast place in the heart of Panjim near the I.C. Church. Well every south indian dish been served here is surely having its own richness and value. Idli are fluffy and tasty. Medu vada is crispy. Upma is perfectly made with the combinations it is to be made. Even the Sada Dosa is light and well prepared. The common element in above is the Chutney & Sambar. Both are made the way it is too be made. Still mouth watering..
Pineapple shira was ok in taste. I had even ordered Bonvita which was served well in quick.
The prices are a bit on higher side but overall its worth and surely you gonna like it.
I will suggest you to try the variety of other south Indian dishes served here and I'm sure that you gonna love it.
Don't be late or you will have to wait for your turn.
Reasonable price, delicious food and quick service is what Kamat's is all about. A perfect restaurant to eat vegetarian and drink delicious fruit juices. The waiting time could be more especially in tourist season but it is worth waiting and ultimately savouring good food with low price.
I regularly have my breakfast here. And I must say their dosa is the best in Goa. It can get a bit greasy but it's worth it. Although it gets really crowded during lunch hours. So take care of that.
Their dish chilli idly inspired me to write a review .... innovation at its peak!
The dish was so well done that it was difficult to guess it was idly , it was crispy and soft inside. Great flavour .We did order a couple of sandwiches and chats. All of it, tasted good .
A special mention to the waiters who are respectful and friendly .
All types of cuisines available but according to me it's more if a snacking place. Experts in South Indian dishes and hence its difficult to find a seat once you walk in. But overall, budget place with mostly South Indian options and good quick service.

Absolute vegetarian delight. I have never ever been disappointed at this place. Have in fact lost count as to how many times I've been here. Crazy dosas, mirchi, bhaji (sukhi, mushroom and patal) Very fresh juices and milkshakes. The tea is kind of heavenly. Very decent pricing
I've only been to this place once and that was because it was the nearest restaurant I could find so I'm not dully qualified to rate it but whatever...
Lemme see. I ordered a paper rawa dosa(lunchtime) and a coffee. Not to say that the does was bad, per se, but I've had better dosas. The coffee was okay, the usual quality you get in restaurants. The first thing I check before going into a restaurant is the hygiene and Lamar's was pretty well maintained so a thumbs up for that.
Summing it up, it wasn't an enthralling experience but it was good enough for my tummy and my pocket.
Good for a quick bite of South Indian food. We were very tired roaming around Panaji market and spotted Kamat. 1st floor is a better option to sit and relax. Sip in some hot filter coffee and have Masala dosa or idli.
Good place to hang out. Food is good and tasty. Price is little high. Good place to enjoy your time. Staff is good. Located next to the famous panjim church.
Heard things that if you are pure vegetarian then there is problem in Goa for you, so searched about some good joints and then found Kamat's(though options are available there too but not cheap one)!!
During of a stay of 5-6 days went there several times for breakfast !!
Options are limited as they serve only south Indian food mainly but food taste is good!(Mashala dosa and several other dosas are great too)!
Price is reasonable too here!!
Overall great place to have breakfast and if you are struggling finding option for vegetarian eat in affordable price range then this place is the best option you can get in this area!!
The place is awesome. Since it is locate in heart of the city you can shop nearby
The main attraction of restaurant is best quality of South Indian food
The place is must visit place for everyone who live South Indian
Authentic south indian restaurant. Filter coffee, uthappa, upma, idli and vada is simply awesome . If you are bored of prawns fishes n beer then drop by at Kamat for a filter coffee ;) !
Great place for pure vegetarian South Indian food! I love the Vadas, dosas, idly, chutneys and Sankars!.
South Indian filter coffee is a must!
Kamat's IS KAMAT'S.
Moreover, it's right in the central city square.
For years I loved (and still do) their South Indian Breakfasts, especially Masala Dosa, Plain Dosa, and Puri Bhaji. Their tea also tastes great. For lunch and dinner, their Thalis are my favourite. Service is good and quick, prices very cheap. Waiting to visit there again once I am in Goa next.
Last time when I visited Goa. It was lent, so kamat's was one of the or only option.
They serve some of the best dosa's and never to forget falooda. The south Indian thali was a bit spicy. But in fact everything I ate here is delish. Had some of the best veggies. Vegan friendly place and a must visit.
Legendary breakfasts.. Yes it is indeed.. Delicious South Indian dishes at optimal prices.. Brilliant service too.. Must visit when in Panjim
Favourite south Indian place bac home as it gives quality food at cheaper price! They have maintained their values... Went there for an early morning breakfast. Their cheese onion rava Dosa and paper dosas were exceptionally good !
Awesome Food in budget.
Kamat is a well known south Indian food chain and has also maintained their food quality & service assurance.
We ordered for a South Indian Thali, Iddly and Masala Dosa along with Rasam.
All tasted good and one could make out their tastes doesn't really get differentiated from places.
Kamat, Everything is there in the name, Quality Food Always Served, Ate Medu Wada Sambar,Onion Uttappa here and they taste Very Good, Sambar was a Lil Different..the preparation varies from person to person...you can drop in for sure in this place located in the Penjim City Area
We heard that this restaurant is very popular in panaji so went here. At lunch time, it was very crowdy. But their staff somehow managed to give us table early. Staff is friendly!
We ordered Masala Dosa, Onion Uttappa, Veg Hakka Noodles, Mhaisoor Pak Wadi, shev patato Chat, SPDP, Veg Shezwan Rice and plate meal Thali. Apart from that Thali, all the dishes were good n delicious!! South Indian is their speciality only but chats, Chinese Noodles & Rice were also awsome. Mhaisoor Pak wadi was too good!
On the other hand, thali was tastless, sambar, dal were watery. Full Bowl of plain rice offered with thali was getting over for us so we returned it for not getting it wasted. As we avoided the wastage, their staff offered some dahi as a complement! I liked that! :)
Summing up, Nice ambience, great taste, friendly staff, pretty good service, affordable prices. Their South Indian Dishes are must!
a very decent restaurant option for vegetarians. i have been here 4times in my 3days vacation. idly, coffee, tea, malasa dosa, butter malasa dosa, chole bhatura, upma, onion uttappam, malasa pav(i didnt like it much, too much of masala.. should havejust ordered pav bhajji), and vada..
rest was good.

P.S- there is a small paan shop in front of kamat. do try paan from that place as well..
Amazing food. We tried chhole bhature, puri bhaji, khichdi and all were super amazing. I especially loved the chole bhature. It was different from what we get in the north. Chole was like how we make as home and it tastes awesome. Came with two huge bhatureys yet they felt non greasy and light on stomach. We wanted to try thali as well but they only have south indian thalis and not Goan thali. Service was super quick. Washroom was super tiny, dirty, & super stinky
Ultimate food quality for Veg cuisine. They serve good quality South Indian and even North Indian cuisine.
Must try, it’s nearby Immaculate Church. Not so costly too. Good services with great atmosphere.
Wheelchair accessibility at this place.
Visited this hotel for a quick lunch after a gap of 15 years. They have maintained it very well with new interiors & menu list has improvised to include more dishes. Ground floor is Non AC & the first floor is a AC hall.
We chose Veg Thali which was wholesome meal with Veg Subzi, Saagu, Poori / Chapathi, Sambar, Rasam, Rice, Papad, Sweet, Curd, Salad. Taste has remained the same even after so many years though we were not able try other dishes due to short of time. Staff are ever smiling & very courteous.
It's close to Immaculate Conception Church & the surroundings give you a nostalgic feel of Old Goan times with the differently painted Old buildings.
Must visit hotel if you wish to taste South / North Indian food in Panaji.
Kamat hotel in Panjim Goa holds to its reputation. Super fast service, great food and neat and clean and reasonably priced.
We also had malai kulfi and it was yummy.
Recommended if you happen to be in this part of Panjim Goa
We ordered rawa dosa and a south indian thali. Rawa dosa tasted good but the thali felt incomplete as sweet dish was missing. Overall the restaurant is good for vegetarian food, located just near the church in Panji.
It’s idealistic location and vegetarian food and snacks with moderate fast service make it best choice for tourists too,
Though yesterday Chholey were not cooked properly but rest things were okay.
Normally this outlet is full almost entire day which ensure whatever you are going to have there will be freshly made n served.
My experience here always been delightful.
It was one of the best thalis I have ever had. The thali stood out because of its wonderful combination of quality and quantity. Every single item in the thali was delicious and cooked to perfection. It's hard for me to pick a favorite because they were all equally delightful. The gulab jamun dessert was the perfect conclusion, and it was just right to enjoy after the meal. It's big enough to be shared by two people, as the portion size was generous. Plus, the thali comes at a reasonable price. I genuinely relished the experience.
We had a quick bite at the hotel yesterday. I ordered puri bhaji and hubby ordered a plate of samosas.
The lemon soda comes in pretty small glasses.
The hotel gets very crowded and one can have strangers occupying other seats at your table.
Definitely worth a visit for a quick bite if you are near samba square in Panjim.
Took me down the memory lane of my childhood days of Hyderabad when my father used to take us to Kamat Hotel.
Fond recollections of dining at Kamat Goa during childhood visits to the region.
Kamat Restaurant offers a warm and inviting atmosphere, along with an array of tasty vegetarian dishes that cater to every palate.
Impeccably clean and hygienic culinary offerings.
In Kamat tradition, the very best authentic Udupi veg food and snacks. Hone-feel hospitality. Place is congested though. I have been visiting the restaurant whenever in Panjim regularly for over five decades. One of the first few customers.
To go place for food since ages that we have been visiting goa. Clean veg food available, the location is the panjim market bang on the road facing the church. Ample paid parkings available on the street. The food quality is good and they have maintained it since years. The staff if quick to serve though now that the lines for waiting are ever growing, you shall have to wait around to be seated. Their food, everything I have ever tried till now has been GOOD.
It's at walking distance to The Immaculate conception church...And Kamat Hotel is the place where you just want to just and enjoy filter coffee with there cutlets...to have a feel of Goan snacks....it's really very old hotel and serve finger licious food....be it south Indian North Indian or even Goan....u will enjoy every bite of it.... highly recommended for anyone visiting panaji or even goa....just go there and have filter coffe with cutlets just yumm....
Very nice hotel for breakfast u can also get to visit a church which is very near.. I feel perfect place for vegetarians. I just loved. Here people also understand kannada. That's a great thing. We had rave dose, idli vada and puri baji
Vada was so crisp, idli was smooth sambar was tasty, baji was too good even rave dosa. Coffee ☕ was perfect. Just like what we get in Bangalore. Strong with perfect sugar 👌. Being A Coffee lover,Best part is Coffee here ☕
Kamat hotel which is a Pure Veg South Indian hotel is located in the heart of Panjim city. Panjim church square is one of the well known places in Panjim. Most of the tourists visit this place because of which this restaurant is crowded. Service is slow.
Goan style pav bhaji is not available in this restaurant. The AC section is also available upstairs.
