A lovely little place hidden amonsgt the silent residential lanes of Miramar. Salt Cafe is a pleasant walking distance from the Miramar beach. The place might be a bit small, with not much fancy show business, but its interiorized with love and affection, and you can feel the friendly-ness in the owner/maneger's nature when you interact with him.
I was on a mission of trying as many new places as I can in the Miramar locality, and that's how I landed up here. The menu is pretty interesting, with good choices of sandwiches, burgers and even oriental preparations. Here's what I tried,
CHICKEN GHEE ROAST SLIDERS - This is one of my favourite burgers, and I relished on them while I was doing my masters in Pune. These little mini burgers made me nostalgic. Juicy chicken chunks roasted in ghee served with some onions, lettuce and cheese over soft, fluffy buns. Just delicious. They also give you a portion of fries and a dip to go with. Loved it!
CHICKEN & CHEESE BURGER - Another fat and juicy burger, this time with a slice of cheese, chicken patty, fried egg and some veggies. I like my burger to be soft as well as juicy, and ofcourse, MESSY! It was all of it. Just the way I, or anyone else would love it to be. Another must try!
LEMON ICED TEA - A simple drink to go with your meal.
VEG. GRILLED SANDWICH - Having a little space left in our tummies, we ordered this simple preparation. I felt it to be a little bit dry, perhaps it was too much bread and very little filling but over all it was decent enough.
I did not like the fact that they did not have water for their customers and asked us to buy a bottle of water, which was priced 30 bucks while the MRP was 20. Overall its a good place and if you like burgers and meat, then this is a damn good place for sure!
Happy Burping!!!
This cafe is located in miramar beach and during my stay in goa, one fine evening my burger cravings took over me and I headed straight to the salt cafe which is near from the beach.
Google maps took us there within no time and the storefront was awesome. It is small and cozy 0lace.
We ordered
Chicken cheese burger and chicken ghee roast sliders for the start both were tasty and flavours were wonderful. The chicken cheeseburger had filling stuffing like big chicken patty lots of cheese fresh lettuce tomato and onion.
The fries were crispy and nice too❤
We then ordered vegetable sandwich and lemon ice tea. Sandwich was nice and tasty also ice tea refreshed us.
It's a pocket friendly cafe to hog on yummy burgers and other stuff
A cosy cafe in a quiet neighbourhood, The Salt Cafe is a no-frills place serving an array of multi-cuisine food. They have Indian, Goan and Chinese food on the menu as well as set lunch combos and pastas.
I tried the Chicken Ghee Roast sliders and really liked them - just perfect to share with someone else, yet they leave you enough room to opt for a main course later. Delicious south Indian flavours with the taste of ghee in every bite, this is a must-try at The Salt Cafe for sure. The Bacon Jam burger was another win. Loved the sweetness of the caramelized onions, salty crunch of the bacon and the juicy, filling patty. The toasted burger bun was a small detail that makes a big difference, really enjoyed the crunchiness that it lent to the burger! The home-made sauce served alongside the burgers go great with the fries too.
Also ordered the Cheese Garlic Kebab, but I felt this could have been way better. i would definitely go back to try their Jucy Lucy!
Awesome food and great ambience..
awesome food..
if u are a north indian try paneer dish n dal ... its woww..
Burger is also too good.
Burger served with french fries with a good taste ..
overall its very nice not average....
Visited the cafe multiple times. They have definitely added more to the menu each time. Absolutely love the beef and chorizo sliders!! The Mayo is to die for! Must try!
Really loved this place. It’s absolutely cosy and serve varied dishes that just leave you licking your fingers.
From amazing burgers/sliders and alcohol infused milkshakes, to thalis for lunch and Bira taps, this place is a new favourite.
A find off the bustling 18th June Road! I visited the cafe a couple of times in the last two weeks. Unfortunately, both the times, we landed at around 9.30pm and occupied the first table in the ground floor in the small cafe. The almost closing time explained the deserted look and white-lit ambience it wore that didn't appeal to us much. (From the other reviews, it seems to have a warm and well-appreciated ambience). Over the two visits, we tried sliders (Mutton Shammi and Ghee Roast), a couple of burgers (Chicken and Cheese, Beef Tenderloin) and a Ghee Roast sandwich. The burgers were very good although the Chicken and Cheese can do without the tomato and onion slices. Their preparation for Ghee Roast and their inhouse mayonnaise that is served on the side is a must-try! Also, tried the Cucumber Mint beverage - recommend that too! Will definitely visit it again!
A little cafe which is Hollywood themed. You can check posters of famous movies like rocky, the godfather, Schwarzenegger and other....The cafe is pocket-friendly with some lip-smacking dishes. We tried the following
FOOD:
1.Kingfish thali: priced at rs200/- thali consisted of Kingfish fry, cabbage, prawns curry, fish curry, sukat chutney. The kingfish fry and fish curry were amazing. Highly recommended.
2.Veg Thali: veg thali was tasty and cost us rs100/-
3.Kingfish fry: we loved the kingfish fry in thali so much that we had to order this dish. Superbly done. Must try.
4.Serradura: Portuguese pudding dessert. Tasted fantastic. Highly recommended
DRINKS:
5.Lemon and mint cooler: a lime soda with fresh mint leaves. Tastes really good. Recommended.
6.Banana peanut butter milkshake: sweeter milkshake than required. Average.Overall this place is great value for money.
Food is tasty, service is prompt plus it is moderately priced. Great place to visit on regular basis.Must try: kingfish fry, serradura, lemon and mint cooler.
Went there for lunch. I ordered prawn thali and my friend ordered veg thali. I would have appreciated a little more rice quantity as at the end of it I found myself eating only the curry and sabzi. The food was very good though. I liked everything that they served. I would like to go back for their fish thali.
Amazing. We ordered kingfish thali and 2 mackerel thali. It was really good. Must visit.....................................................
Good looking place, the ambience is very appealing. The restaurant looks neat and clean. The Hollywood posters add a good feel to everything. Coming to the food, we tried the Mackrel Thali, it was pretty nice but the quantity of the rice served was way too less, apart from that, other side dishes were nice, the fish was fresh as well. Service was ordinary to be honest, pricing is decent. Must give a try.
This place located opposite the wisdom book house is nice to spend your evening.
The ambience is pretty nice.
The service is also fast.
We ordered a chicken ghee roast slider which is quite small and is not sufficient at all so i suggest you go for double which is also served with wafers..
I also ordered chicken steak burger which was not something extra ordinary but the patty was nice n juicy.Lastly the Hersheys chocolate milkshake was yumm!
Their thali prices are reasonable too yet to try them though!
I had chicken burger and a mojito at this place. The burger was good not very flavorous as such. The juicy grilled chicken patty was what made it good. Mojito was refreshing . The food doesn't stand out from what is offered at other places but overall a good place to chill. The ambiance is benign. I haven't tried the fish thali yet which I've been told is pretty good. Shall update the review as soon as I do.
One of the amazing cafes in Panaji! Great ambiance, good food, reasonable price and friendly staff sums it up. We ordered cheese fries(recommended), chicken ghee roast burger(must try), juicy Lucy burger, chicken ghee roast sandwich(loved this too) and waffles for dessert. Also we tried almost all milkshakes from their menu and loved it except for Oreo which was average. This place is also famous for fish thali. Will definitely recommend this place :)
A nice place mainly popular for theirs thali.. we went at evening time so we tried all other things from the menu.. chocolate shakes where nice.. what we loved d most and will definitely suggest others is ghee roast chicken burger and sandwiches... It was just wow.. do try.. very few options for chicken.. lots in menu for beer eaters.. will next go to taste their thali..
I've just had the ghee roast sliders and the grilled chicken burger here.
Ghee Roast sliders we're good but very disappointed with the grilled chicken burger. Just very dry and bland. The dip sauce is amazing. Service is also decent.
This cutsie resto located in the heart of Panjim, serves tantalising burgers to die for!
We had the Juicy Lucy burger and it was packed with a tender beef patti, bacon, shrooms and a creamy cheese sauce! And a dip and fries on the side.
The sliders are good too. The ghee chicken slider had a nice unexpected Indian flavour twist to it. The fish packet appetitiser was good too. Its much like a ressois, only bigger and better.
They serve fish thali's too. Look good from what I saw, will try next time.
Prices are very reasonable.
Service is kind of slow due to the lack of staff but it's worth the wait! Do visit if in the city.
Awesome food. Its a small cafe a small staff.. But the food was just delicious. We had the chicken roast slider, the beef & chorizo, the salt club, fries, grilled vegetable. We ended up ordering seconds of everything. If was yummy... A must try after a tiring walk through the streets. And must try the lime soda.
This place doesn't seem like the type that would serve a great fish thali, but wait till you have a taste of it! I went there with a couple of friends during lunch time and decided to try out their thali put of curiosity. Loved the curry and kingfish (even though the fishing ban is on and the kingfish wasnt fresh, it tasted great!). The rice was a bit sticky, but I'm not that picky when it comes to rice. I've also tried their chicken ghee roast sliders before and I liked them a lot. Their juicy Lucy burger however, was a little raw on the inside but they replaced it with a fresh well cooked one after we informed them about it. Service is pretty fast. The decor is good. A good hang out spot with decent food overall.

Must try is the Beef Chorizo Sliders! Absolute favourite. The sauce is just amazing. Pair it with a mint lemon cooler and you'll have a yummy lunch.
Thank me later.
Loved their beef burger. Perfectly cooked, flavourful and juicy from the inside. Had also tried their Chicken ghee slider. again a big thumbs up to the flavours here. They should convert into a burger too, on demand. The prices are a bit high but once in a while, it's okay to shed a few bucks for good taste.
We had kingfish thali here. I must say it was really wonderful and tasty. There are very few places which serve basmati rice with thali and this is one of them. Kingfish was fresh and taste was fried quite differently from usual fried fish. Ambience is nice and cozy. Service also is fast and prompt. Looking forward to try their other items on menu list.
Great place, good ambiance and friendly staff/owners. Loved the Chicken Ghee Roast slider and the Beef and Chorizo sliders. The burgers, fries and the sauce are amazing too! This place is a must try.
Great place, nice and rustic set up with some great food. My personal favourite being the 250 rupee Juicy Lucy burger. A double tenderloin beef patty filled with cheese and topped with grilled mushrooms, Onions, cheese and bacon served with fries and a dip. Juicy, meaty and absolutely sinful
We came across the place on Zomato a couple of weeks ago, and I had been desperate to try out the Ghee Roast Slider, as well as the Beef & Chorizo Slider, as well as the Juicy Lucy. Okay, maybe the entire menu appealed to me, and we finally managed to get there today after saving some up.
The ambiance is relaxed, with cozy seating, air conditioning, and subdued lighting. We tried the Beef and Chorizo Slider (Tenderloin Beef and Chorizo patty with special homemade mayo) priced at Rs 80.
Melt in your mouth Beef and Chorizo patty, absolutely fresh and bold flavours, meat juices running down your chin as you bite into this slider that sure does pack a punch.
I suggest that you try doubles of this(comes with chips and special homemade mayo) for Rs 150 because one just isn't enough, when it's this good.
We also tried the Ghee Roast Slider at Rs 80 for a single.
Who knew that Ghee Roast could taste this great between two burger buns with just some lettuce, onion and garlic mayo?
The Ghee Roast was spectacular, buttery and tender, and that put in between the buns was a match made in heaven.
Definitely take doubles of these if you're giving it a try. Doubles come for Rs 150, with chips and dip.
We also had the Juicy Lucy (chefs special double Tenderloin patty stuffed with cheese, lettuce, grilled mushroom, bacon, caramelized onions and homemade mayo) at Rs 250. It is a must try. Consists of all things good, packed inside one great burger. Comes with super crunchy french fries and a special house dip.
The best place for burgers in Panjim.. will stick my neck out and say the whole of Goa... their Thali and veg sandwiches are equally good..must visit this place if you r in Panjim
Centrally located in the heart of panjim. Amazing variety of snacks and shakes. The sliders are a must try. Ambience compliments very for quick lunch meetings or evening snacks with friends!
One of the best cafes in Panjim. Everything on their menu is delicious be it their juicy burgers or their authentic Goan Fish Thali. Seating space is limited so would recommend a reservation here!
I visit them every alternate day for their filter coffee! 😄
There's nothing like a great hangout place with yummy food to feed on. Don't let their small spacing fool you as their menu has a lot of variety, some of the foods you can expect to eat are Veg/ fish thalis, burgers, juices, desserts. So in times when uncalled hunger pangs strike, this definitely should be your go to eatlet 😊
The ghee roast sliders and the burgers are just out of the world. There is a personal touch in the service and prices leaves one pleasantly shocked! Waiting for them to open outlets at other places in Goa :)
This place is just perfect for a quick meal kinds... went there in the afternoon... had the non veg thali ghee roast slider and a couple of drinks... lovely food, quick service and the value for money is insane.. try this place and I'm sure u won't regret.. short visit in goa but whenever I go back... I'll surely be there
Good luck guys
Ambling around or working- (if you are one of those fortunate few who work in Goa) in Panjim during lunch hours and feel like eating an authentic goan thali? Head over to the Salt Cafe. Feel like indulging yourself a bit --order the king fish fry along with the thali. OMG! the food served here is yum. I am not much of a rice eater except if it's served along with a nice fish/prawn curry and fried fish and man these guys do all of that well especially the prawn curry and the fish fry. I really liked the thali and by the time i was done with it, a serious case of overeating had happened.
In addition to the thali, these guys also serve some mean sliders and burgers. The juicy lucy is awesome but a bit too big for me. My favourites are the tenderloin slider and the ghee roast slider. Packed with flavour, and in manageable proportions. I have lost count of the number of sliders I have eaten at this place- I mean I would head out thinking let's got to Miramar and eat some of that awesome cutlet pao at D Silvas but end up at Salt. So yeah try out their sliders and also these meatballs that they serve-trust me you will want more than one.
And lastly, while you can always head over to Naturals for some ice-cream (although i am getting over my naturals obsession a bit as it has opened in Delhi as well), I skipped that temptation for once and ordered their brownie- Maan, I mean - w.o.w- try it- it's divine to say the very least.
Now all that food talk has worked up my appetite- If only I was in Goa.
Reasonable thali and in a great quantity. Serves quickly and its a small yet a lovely place to have thali. Must check out. Everything served in thali was lovely.
Small place with a limited menu. A place for a quick bite. Loved their ghee roast slider. The best I have ever had. It is served with chips and a mayo dip.
One of best eating joints in panaji , a must visit for everyone , food can be compared to top restaurants in goa . 5 star from my side . The burgers are great , the fish thali and even the veg thali is surprisingly awesome .
New place, not much crowd. Amazing burgers, especially the Chicken steak burger, the aftertaste is heaven, the sauce/dip does the magic. The chorizo siders is also really good.
Ambiance 4.5/5 ,
Food 5/5 ,
Service 4/5 ,
Value for money 4/5 .
When u r in goa ( panaji ) its an nice place to have food over there , beef & chorizo is awesome must try it and the price for what they offer that is also cheap . And do try lime soda and many more are there to try .
Enroute from Airport to North Goa we stopped at this lovely cafe at the heart of Panaji/Panjim city. We had some succulent Fish packets and blissful Lime some soda. It was perfect for us to break our 2hr journey, relax and feel the warmth at the heart of Goa's business centre. Very passionate people behind this beautiful little cafe.
I visited the cafe earlier in January for lunch. I tried the fish curry thali with king fish fry. I absolutely loved the thali. It actually has a lot of stuff in it including a vegetable, kismur, chicken curry, salad and prawn curry. Every single thing in the thali tasted yummy and it is quite a bit of food, so it more than fills your stomach. the fish fry was a big piece of king fish, well marinated and cooked to perfection. The cafe has a very hip feel to it. They serve the drinks in these mason jar glasses :) which is very cute. I then tried their brownie for dessert and omg, those brownies are to die for. Loved them! The prices are very reasonable (actually on the lower side). The owners Thomas and Siddharth are very friendly and take personal interest in making sure that you are taken care off. Can't wait to go back for more!
Delicious chicken steak burgers. Minimal and simple menu. Fairly affordable pricing, with a decent ambience. I would especially recommend the mayo dip—served with the burgers; too good!
Nice little quaint cafe in middle of the bustling area Panaji in Goa. The owner of the cafe is super welcoming, warm and nice, just like its food. We had Grilled Cheese and Grilled Veg Sandwiches along with some nice chilled coffees. Food was tasty and fresh. Additional Plus - You won't end up emptying your wallet!
Highly recommended for everyone!
Absolutely Amazing burgers and a Delicious prawn curry thali as well. Total value for money. Brand new and already a favourite! Cosy ambience and very welcoming service. Don't think about it just go!
Salt Cafe is an extremely good option for those craving a good mix of Goan Sea Food and American fast food, all in one place. My personal favourite was the prawn curry thali with Kingfish fry, washed down with a chilled like soda. The taste was excellent and the quantity generous. Also, the price is extremely reasonable. All in all, an excellent experience.
Very nice cozy well lit setting. Had their prawn curry Thali with a very decent sized piece of king fish for lunch. All the dishes are very very reasonably priced. The service was extremely quick. I'm extremely eager to return to try out their burgers. This place is well worth a visit. Well done Salt Cafe!!
We had super grilled cheese sandwiches for lunch! Looking forward to trying the veg Thali next time. Food at Salt cafe is delicious and easy on the wallet!
These guys serve up the best burger in the country, The Juicy Lucy! Loved the beef and chorizo slider and fish burger as well. And it's all very reasonably priced. Their prawn curry thali for lunch was really good and probably the cheapest one in town! This place is a must try when your in Panaji. If you're really serious burger fan, I'd recommend that you plan your next holiday to Goa and head to Salt!
Seems like a brand new joint and was pleased with it. The beef and chorizo sliders and the juicy Lucy burger were amazing. The decor looks very fresh and inviting. Thomas is welcoming and hospitable too.
In the mood for a quick yet wholesome Goan meal while shopping or during your lunch break that is light on your pocket? Salt is the place for you! Lip smacking fish thali at unbelievably economical prices!
In the mood for a great burger or grilled cheese sandwich? Whether you're looking for a quick bite or are ravenous, Salt has the best burgers and sandwiches in town which surely won't disappoint. Try them with a shake on the side and don't miss the unique small bites that are up on offer.
The chorizo and tenderloin slider is to die for. The meatballs and fish packets are nothing like you've ever eaten before! Don't leave Panjim city without hitting this hot new spot!
Amazing food
Ok ambience and service
A place where they focused on serving great food, and not wasted money on just making the place look good.
We tried their Jucy Lucy burger, which was amazingly juicy and lovely flavours.
Their pulled pork BBQ sliders were super tasty.
Drums of heaven were slightly on the spicy side, but good spice.
Overall great place for good food.
Loved the place. Visited on a friend's suggestion, and I must say I wasn't disappointed.
Must visit if looking out for small bites. Their Chicken streak burger was awesome.
Good service, not crowded, and worth every penny you spend.
Food - 5/5
Ambiance - 4/5
Service - 4/5
The Salt Cafe is a small quaint cafe recently started in the heart of Panjim city. They serve a delicious Prawns Curry Thali for lunch at just Rs.90 along with fried fish that is chargeable. A good ambience coupled with quicker service makes this place stand out from the rest.
Open Hours: Thalis only during lunch
Cost of a Thali: Rs. 90 – Rs. 150
Burgers are nice. And we'll sitting arrangements plus wooden chairs 😍
A 4star rating for the freshness of the beef patty and bacon, hands down the meatiest and juiciest in Panjim. Other elements such as the fries, mayo and dip however were a let down.
Awesome place to visit....The juicy Lucy burger u must try it if u visit it ..N not to forget the dip was just 😍. Totally worth it
A little pricey but it serves Thalis and beef. So it's cool.
This place doesn't fail to impress. Delectable burgers, amazing milkshakes, great service, calm and soothing ambience. My recommendation: chicken steak burger with Oreo milkshake. The dip is unique, and second to none. My only gripe is that this place is a tad pricy, and it is open at odd hours, and closes by 9 pm. I have to schedule things very specifically to find this place open. Aside from that, highly recommended.
The best burger in town! You won't be disappointed after trying out their chicken ghee roast burger, trust me. Their mayo dip is something that I'd have on its own. My favourite place in the city for now. Give it a try!
Delicious burgers.. Must try
Tasty place to hang out with friends but closed from a long time due to repairs
Good ambience, prompt service and delicious food. Their beef tenderloin burgers and beef and chorizo sliders are scrumptious. It's served with masala fries and a one of a kind homemade mayonnaise dip.
Reasonably priced and inclusive of all taxes (even though on the menu it said taxes extra as applicable)
They also serve veg/fish thali during lunch hours.
Very delicious burgers and sliders. Reasonably priced.
You get what you pay for. The quality isn't much to write home about, though it does deliver the goods if you're looking for a burger or some pasta in that area. Be prepared to wait though. Service tends to be slow, even if you're the only ones there.
Very tasty stuff...juicy Lucy was upto her name...the bbq chicken burger was yumm, the pulled pork n chicken ghee roast sliders too good....
The pastas can be better, kids did not enjoy much...
Overall must visit
