Exceptional food and service!
Looking for a delicious meal but want to mix up the cuisine? Look no further. From the in house corn tortillas to the numerous margarita options, this place knocked it all out of the park. We had the pleasure of trying many different menu items and they were all wonderful. We all walked away stuffed and ready for a siesta.
The name initially didn't draw us to this place but their well lit and warm, beautifully done up entrance was very inviting in itself. The staff was extremely hospitable and friendly. The highlight of Frida Cantina is truly it's food. Amazingly well presented and top notch on its uniqueness and taste. We loved every bit of each dish we tried here. The pricing is on the higher side especially if compared to the quantity offered. I'd term it as a price for 2 but serving just sufficient for 1 person. But for the food, it's ambience and staff, this place is worth a shot for what it has to offer. Definitely recommend Frida Cantina if you're looking for a good fine dining place when in Panjim.
Exceeded all my expectations. The chicken burrito bowl was an absolute standout, boasting a perfect blend of flavors and textures. The tacos and chicken wings were equally impressive. The ambiance of the cafe added to the overall experience, creating a welcoming and lively atmosphere. Must visit for delectable Mexican cuisine.
Amazing! I’m from the US where Mexican food is in abundance and this place blew it out of the water. Phenomenal margaritas! Had the watermelon jalapeño, mango, tamarind, and jalapeño. The loaded nachos are so good - their chips are unique. We went back twice just for these things during our short stay. The tacos are very good and they let us mix and match as well. They are so friendly and also speak English which can help.
Went here on 11-11-23. Excellent ambience and lighting. We had the Chicken tacos which were nice (though I am not a fan of sour sauce, but my wife liked em'). The chicken empanadas were excellent, the filling tasty, served with two types of sauce. The best part however were the churros which were undeniably supreme. Good quantity and soft consistency with the right amount of cinnamon and sugar, served with chocolate and milk sauces (the former is standard choco, the latter is better). I think many people come here specifically for this.
A good dining experience for those who like Mexican food.
We visited this lovely Mexican based restaurant on hot sunny afternoon.
It was a real pleasure. I have never had Mexican cuisine before. And I loved every bite of it. It was wholesome, well seasoned, beautifully plated food. We tried a variety of dishes. Mostly vegetarian. Though we tried a beef and fish dish.
The beef was nice.
The fish a tad bit overcooked. But with the accompaniments, quite a pleasant item.
I loved the 3 bean salad. And the coconut cake, which was dessert. 😊
Would definitely recommend them for a lovely and healthy meal.
The place is well located and gps is good in its direction. The service is pleasant too..
All in all, a 4 star place. Can't wait to visit again.
Great selection of Mexican food, loved the charred corn ribs, roasted chicken and loaded Nachos. Will definitely visit again
Good Mexican food and great ambience.
Loved the wings, quesadilla, soft shell tacos and burrito bowl. Recommended for Mexican Cuisine!
Such a delightful find in Panjim! Lovely food (the battered fish tacos were pitch perfect, as were the loaded nachos), the setting was magical in the evening with lights and the abundant green, the wait staff are prompt and warm. Excellent vegan and vegetarian options too. Going back tonight already!
Some of the best nachos I've had in a long time ! ... and the best churros to be found in Goa. Great flavours combined with the perfect ambience made for a very enjoyable evening. Pricing is a little steep but we were happy to pay this given the quality of the food and drink. No other place in Goa is serving this calibre of Mexican cuisine. I'll be back, there is no doubt about this. Service was also great 👍
Loved the food, ambience and live music!
So thankful for the vegan options - my mouth still waters thinking about the tamales I had last night! Refreshing to see mainstream restaurants providing vegan options ❤️ Very interesting and tasty cocktails too!
The restaurant serves authentic Mexican cuisine and inspired by the works and charm of the famous female painter and artists Frida Kahlo, delivers a visually and physically stunning experience to its dinners from its colourful yet minimalist interiors and decors to its vibrant cocktails and food filled with hues of red, yellow, green and so much more
I started my meal with a hearty plate of Muchachos Loaded Nachos which had freshly made nachos topped with Queso, Refried beans, Salsa, Jack Cheese & Roasted Chicken. I then tried a light and easy steamed shrimp ceviche in tender coconut, chili, mango and mint with onions and cilantro before moving on to Curbside Esquites which is like a street side corn salad but this one was charred and tossed in a garlic mayo and Cotija cheese, super super yum!
I then tried their Pork Adobo Tostadas topped with salsa and sour cream along with a classic Shredded Beef Birria Tacos, something that’s picking up a lot of pace these last few years, they’re tacos seared on the hot pan which comes served with a gravy that you can douse/dip them in before you dig in.
From their mains section the dish that appealed to me the most was definitely the Sliced Tenderloin Steak on a bed of mash and charred jalapeño with a chipotle marinade but in true Goan surf & turf fashion I had to try a seafood dish as well and opted for the Grilled Prawns in Mango & Arbol Chili Mojo served on a bed of creamy polenta, again another delicately crafted delicious dish. As it was the weekend, you do get a few brunch specials as well as all you can drink/pitcher options with sangrias and cocktails and to my luck I was able to give their burrito bowl a try! Loaded with rice, bell peppers, chicken, guacamole, sour cream, beans and pico de gallo this was one power packed bowl that truly delivered the blow
But I had to recover quick for dessert as I finished with a super moist and creamy coconut tree leches and freshly made churros with a white and dark chocolate sauce. I don’t even have space to speak about the cocktails but rest assured this was a fabulous meal and one you must try!
Frida Cantina emerged out of a long-held passion for the culinary arts, a zeal for taking on a challenging cuisine, love for experimenting and attachment to Goa.
On the busy roads of Panjim, we got to visit the Frida Cantina Goa✨. The ambience was simple and classy.
The food was authentic and delicious. Tacos were so refreshingly fresh and flavour packed. We enjoyed both hard shell tacos and soft shell tacos😍. Lamb was perfectly cooked and the process of filling the topping of our own tacos was so exciting🤩. Goan Spice Guava was my favourite from the cocktails with a kick spice in it👻. And finally coming to the desserts Coconut Tres Leches is so so delicious I couldn’t stop eating. The cake was moist and the almond milk dressing made it more yumm🤤🤤

At my visit here; I tried out their Curbside Esquites; a famous Mexican snack that’s loaded with flavour using grilled corn, lime, mayo, cheese & more! There’s something about the sweet/charred flavour combo that just made this dish so good! The Battered Fried Fish Tacos were crispy, golden brown morsels of flavour! They were loaded with a mix of cabbage, pickled onions, salsa & a drizzle of sour cream! Their Cheese & Spinach Empanadas were the perfect flaky pie crusts filled with fresh spinach, garlic, spinach, a little corn & ricotta cheese! The zesty flavor of this really made me want more! The Muchachos however, stole the show! We opted for the Veg Muchachos; let me tell you- there was something magical about the saltiness of that fresh & crispy corn chip, paired with a fresh & chunky salsa, creamy queso, & refried beans! Highly recommend opting for this one! For mains however, I didn’t really enjoy the Roast Chicken as I felt it was too dry! But their Beef Steak was well done! Really enjoyed it alongside the mash! ✨
I had to end my meal here by trying out their Churros & I think I’ve found the best Churros in #Goa! They’re just the ultimate sweet treat! And paired with that Dulce de leche; for those who don’t know (milk jam/caramelised milk) it was heaven! 🥺
I would definitely visiting this place, they may serve small quantities for the price, however they serve good quality food & the service offered too was great! I’d definitely recommend Frida Cantina for a splendid dinner date or brunch ❤️
Loved the food.
Very reasonably priced
Very good and quick service
The in-house made nachos were delicious. Pricing is on the steep side but overall a good place to experience.
Cocktails are amazing! Rohith made us some amazing cocktails, they were super tasty and we will definitely be back for more. Never met a more friendly bartender; would recommend sitting at the bar.
A great place to try out authentic Mexican cuisine. The prices seem a bit on the upper edge but the quality and quantity balances everything out. We tried chicken tacos, veg burrito bowl, roast chicken and churros, which were tasty. Their burrito bowl and churros are to die for. Really good ambience and service. Friendly and helpful staff.
