Undoubtedly the best place in Patna to have South Indian food!! I have been eating here since my childhood and have tried almost everything on the menu - from chinese to desserts. But the South Indian dishes are definitely a standout - especially the onion rava masala dosa - my favourite. The special masala dosa comes with an additional "chutney" which is considerably nice. Veg cutlets are also delectable.
Having dosas here since childhood. Awesome place 🥰🥰. I just love dosa from this place, no other place in patna has such tasty dosa. Just yumm..
Chola bhatura is also good.
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Been visiting this place since my childhood, it's just awesome. No place in patna can beat their south indian cuisine's taste.
Basant Vihar is basically divided into twi sections. The ground floor serves the casual north Indian food and Chinese food whereas the upper floor is the crown jewel of this establishment serving amazing delicious south Indian food.
Probably only place in the city to serve authentic south Indian dosa with over 80-90 varieties of dosa to choose from. Basant Vihar serves these south Indian cuisines with complimentary chutney and sambhar which is delicious and leave you carving for more. You should try some their steamed idli and utpams for sure.
While the top floor rules, the ground floor is not behind. Serving delicious vegetarian dishes and Indian breads. While the entire establishment is vegetarian you will not feel like missing out meat from your meal.
A must try for anyone in the city and visiting it !
Best dosa ever one can find in north India 💯👌🏻😀
Do try their dosa . they are famous for dosa 👌👌 definitely recommend you . Great taste . Great service and friendly staff there . They have both North Indian and south Indian food . Must try 👌👌
If you're in Patna and want to enjoy South Indian food, then Basant Vihar is a go to place. This place is best known for its Dosa(s). They have a variety of Dosa(s) in their menu.
Have already tried their Masala Dosa, Rava Dosa, Paneer Masala Dosa, Plain Dosa, Chole Bhature, Pav Bhaji and all of them were quite delicious.
Staffs were polite. Overall a good place to enjoy scrumptious food with your family and friends.
Highly recommend!
Ordered for special masala dosa . The food was tasty but the dosa was not crispy and there was no chutney with it. It was also a little bit cold and I got the food after 1 hr.
If you are a South Indian fan, Must try this place.Downstairs having North Indian cuisine and Upstairs having South Indian.Must Try :- Dosa, Sambhar Vada, Idli, Fried Idli.I love the taste, its so fresh and crispy which fails by maximum place to deliver.Sambhar and Chutney are one of the best sides i had in whole town.Go for it, its a good option if you are craving for South Indian food in north.
I had heard so much about this place regarding dosa. I was told that they served the best dosa in patna but my experience was not so good or maybe to know the actual taste of the restaurant you have to taste some another dosa as I had tried simply masala dosa there which was ok.
One of the amazing restaurant out there in Patna where you can enjoy different delicious varieties od dosa, idli and many more south indian meals.
They serve the best dosa and idly. There special chutney is very tasty. We so many year into this service, there consistency is still well maintained.
This is the place in Patna where you can blindly go for a good vegetarian food. They maintain their taste and quality so long as I started to eat there 10 years back. Recommended 👍
Its a pure veg resturant. South indian dishes are good. Food quality and quantities are good. Resturant is too old but maintain. Enjoy the food.
Nice and decent place for dosa and only dosa🙄
Like every thing was just normal and over priced.
Even the dosa's we're over priced say Onion rawa sada dosa was for around 180-200.
Sambhar and chutny was tasty and the special chutny was also good.
A goto restaurant for south Indian dishes.
Especially dosas. Masala dosas are my favorite over there and price is also reasonable. Family restaurant. Ambience is ok.
Good food quality and taste . but crowed the same time . for home delivery packing in not secured with packing pack . please look into this .
Good food especially for south Indian food like masala dosa, idili, utpam and etc. Good thing is food is fresh and packing is also too. My favourite for south Indian food is this.
This resturent is old and best for dosa. My family is mostly visited for eating dosa. Tasty and hygiene. And also milkshek is so tasty. Quick service.
Definitely one of the best South Indian Restaurant in Patna. I can't even remember since when I am eating in this restaurant. But now days I feel food taste has gone marginally down. Last time I went here with family we ordered Paper Dosa Taste was good but we felt too much salt in Dosa,Sambhar and chutney was tasty as usual. As a regular eater I want this place to maintain its taste and perfection.
I like the meal of basant Bihar, although it's little costly but food is good.
I have ordered many times my lunch from here because I like the taste of basant vihar
Literally my favourite South India restaurant in Patna. This place has wonderful cuisine and you won't exit without loving it. Also they serve the food really quick. Amazing!
This restaurant is very famous in this city,I could say that no restaurant in this city can replace it from its position(in terms of making dosa). I ordered idlli from there and i got the taste as I expected, totally love their service.
I ordered for the first time from this restaurant since I always try to search a pure veg restaurant and that was a good experience. Now I can recommend to other people
Was searching for best south Indian restro and found this one.Waited for about 15 -20 mins after booking table. Ordered butter masala dosa and vegetable uttapam and found that food arrived quickly.Liked the humble and polite nature of staffs ,ambience was not too good ,but food was too tasty and delightful which forcibly made me to rate ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Now mostly i order through zomato ,they pack very nicely and provide their best ! Be it quantity or quality.

This place serves awesome dosas in Patna. A restaurant whose dosas taste is etched in our memories since childhood days, this very reason makes a visit to this place a must whenever am in my hometown. This is a highly recommended place to have South Indian cuisine in Patna.
The food was good but the quantity was very bad I ordered for my family and it gave just two pieces although I liked this very much
Thank you for the food as it was very tasty
The authentic flavour of Dosa can't be found anywhere other than this place. The Dosa here has a very unique and mesmerizing taste. Have visited this place many a times, also have ordered online and the cheese dosa contains more cheese than you get in a pizza, and the paneer dosa and Chutney are of A++ quality. Totally recommendable.
Very good very much polite very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very much appreciated
Very good restro a must visit place I like it very much love this place must visit again and again foods are too good n hygiene is also maintained
Rare this place will disappoint you by its food. The price you pay is completely reasonably. Restaurant has humble staffing from last 12-14 years.
I've been visiting this place since I was a kid and this place is still the same in terms of food and staff. I'll always recommend this place if you're a vegetarian this place won't disappoint you if you're in search of a good veg restaurant. Ambience is just okay and fine for family gatherings not too great but not bad also.
First time I had lunch here with my fiancée. So hard to forget this place. 😍.. Though dint like taste much. Most worst part was they don't accept cards. Mere fiance ke to chehare pe 12 baj gaye the 😂
Amazing food, good taste and bixe service from the team. Tooti fruti was very nice and a specialty at this place.
Known for South Indian food. Food is very good and service is also quick and couteous. Decor and atmosphere can be more vibrant. It has high patronage and is buzzing with guest most of the time. Its located inside Maurya Lok shopping complex, easy to reach and ample paid parking available. On the whole can be enjoyable experience with family and friends.
Decent & hygienic place
Tasty & quality food
Well dressed and behaved staffs
Located at the first floor in Maurya Lok Complex which may be affecting customer reach but it’s a well known Vegetarian restaurant in the locality.
Would recommend the place.. If you are near by Maurya Lok must visit the restaurant.
To my surprise the food was really commendable. Service people though old in age but very courteous and humble. It felt very nice.
This is my absolute favourite restaurant for South Indian Dishes. Quite old and known for their quality food. Price is also affordable and located at the centre of city.
However they can think of rennovation to tap more young customers.
Overall recommended.
Great place for a tasty treat... I had heard that this is the best place for a sounthindian tooth.. i must say that of all the places in Patna where I had south Indian, this was the best. It was expensive one.. but cleanliness was amazing and taste was great..
Food is awesome. My favourite is butter rava masala dosa and butter paper masala dosa and idli. 2 idli is sufficient for one person. The look of the restaurant is very retro type and no modifications in the interior since my childhood. The aac is always very chilled. Good parking in MauryaLok. Remains always full during weekends and festivals. Service is very fast.
It's a family place. One can find that most of the customer came with their families. It's a pure veg. On my point of view it comes under a few restaurant which have a very good quality of service.
Highly recommend.
Prop:
1.Pure veg
2.Family place
3.Cheap and Best
4.Food quality is owsome.
5.Dal Makhini is owsome.
Cons:
1.Cant find table easily(always waiting)
2.Cant expect fast service.
3. Foods are cheap but bread item is very costly. (For eg. Dal makini- 175/- for full plate and one butter nan - 70/-)
Note- Overall my experience is good and I like the place at all. Recommending this place to everyone. One the basis of scale I will give them 9 out of 10.
Price is genuine, Taste of food ok not so much delicious. In the given price tag of food it is ok. Staff behaviour is very polite.

The food here was good and presentation also good. I saw majority of person we're eating dosa. I didn't try it. But I took aloo Punjabi ,palak matar. All was very good . The price is little on higher side but ok as per location. Staff is also friendly. I recommend it .
If you love South Indian food and you are craving for it, you can surely visit this place. After 10 years I visited this place and I orders the same thing special masala dosa and cold coffee with ice-cream. I loved the taste of cold coffee ith ice-cream, but to be very frank I did not get vivacious for that I wanted to deduct half 🌟 but Google didn't allow for that. Next time five 🌟 for sure, for the same old and best South Indian food north Indian style.
Thank you for the amazing service ❤️
I visited to Patna and stayed near income tax office. While searching for an authentic desi khana on nearby, people suggested to Basant Vihar restaurant. Which is located in a commercial complex near income tax office.
The food was really good and service time was also very short. This average cost restaurant also have professional staff.
Loved it..!!
An old yet thriving restaurant in MauryaLok Patna. The food as always is amazing and very affordable. Service staff are very welcoming and friendly. More than food, it's a place for Patna folks to visit the memory lane and remember old days. Most of the patna have changed but not Vasant Vihar. Hope it keep serving forever.
Good place to have delicious masla dosa in patna. This restaurant is situated in Maurya lok complex near Dank Bunglow Chowk. The part of restaurants which is situated at the first floor serves dosa and south india foods and ground floor's part is for North Indian food. You can try masala dosa, cheese masala dosa, paper dosa and chhola bhatura.
This is good kind of family restaurant where you can go normally, yas sometimes this is little bit crowd.... Otherwise wise this is very nice to go there with family and kids 😀
Clean and hygienic. Appropriate waiting time (protocol for social distancing). Value for price. Very humble and good natured staff. All kinds of payment mode accepted. All in all - one of the few places in Patna that stills holds up to it's name and the most famous restaurant in Maurya lok complex
