A decent pizza place just outside White Town. This is one of those rare places where the kitchen is bigger than the seating area! We had the Chicken 5-65 and the Chicken 4-stage pizza. The pizzas were thin-crust wood fire pizzas. Our choice of pizzas tasted quite similar, though the 4-stage pizza was slightly better. The best part of this place is that the prices are extremely competitive, considering the quantity and the taste. On the flip-side, though, not really an ideal place to dine out (I don't even think they had a restroom).
Well you get best pizzas in Cafe Xtacy and nothing else. I loved both the pizzas I ordered but pasta was watery , fish fingers were under cooked and All drinks and desserts were over by 3.00. Also ambience is not so good but try to get a table in terrace. I had to wait 1 he to get a table by that time half of the items in the menu got over.

A simple word to describe this place is just amazing!! They bake it with fresh cheese with organic vegetables and oil which shows a slight taste variation in the pizza as compared to other pizza! Must go for a amazing treat ever for italian food lover.

Auro pizza is one such restaurant. A small restaurant, I guess it's being run by a family. But quality of the Pizza is too good. All are wood fire and thin crust pizza.
Tasty Pine - Skeptical about it but one of my friends wanted to try so ordered it. It turned out to be good. The sweetness of pineapple gave a different flavour to the pizza, never experienced before.

‘Auro pizza’ is a nondescript tiny eatery in the beautiful White town of Pondicherry that serves delicious wood-fired thin crust pizzas. I’m glad we decided to eat there even after getting discouraged by the looks of it. They had a good variety of toppings and we asked for a Feta Chicken pizza and a Funghi pizza.
This is a gem of a place! Just beautiful . Chuck all the expensive cafes in town and head right here. The owner is a gem of a man and the pizzas are out of this world. Reasonably prized , a little small I'm space but the taste and the pizzas more than compensate.

We had a large chicken 3 type pizza & a large chicken hamm pizza, both with extra cheese. The pizza bread were wood- fire fried & fresh. The toppings included chicken, veggies, jalapeño and mozarella cheese,loads of it. The ambience is good, staff friendly. Would visit again.
Small place in White town near A2B serving Amazing pizzas and great customer service at reasonable prices. We had the special veg. Pizza. It had a really thin crust and laden with creamy cheese and corn, olives, cottage cheese, tomato and melts away beautifully in the mouth. Do give this place a try when you're in Pondicherry.

Why would you visit Auro pizza? If you want to try fresh pizzas straight from the wood fired oven, if you want to experience the smell of fresh bubbling cheese and veggies instead of pizzas laced with seasoning and if you don't wanna spend much and are ready to compromise with ambience.
We ordered Formagi and Cheese bomb. Both were great. They served pizza on a humble plate. You can tell the ingredients are fresh and lacked preservatives, however the cheese was lacking a little bit. I just loved the taste. These will not burn a hole in your pocket, and you can have pretty much good and new experience if you're bored with regular plastic pizzas.
This is a must visit place for pizza lovers for a new and different kind of experience. I would definitely visit the place again when I visit White town, Pondicherry.

Returning from states was yearning for a good pizza, happen to jus walk-in to this place during my stay in pondy as my son insisted on eating.. was not happy wit the ambience but compromised for the AC.. we ordered d pizzas and waited good 20-30mins.. but in the end wen the pizza arrived they were soooo worth it.. we ended up ordering 2nd set and no longer the place or wait mattered us..!!

I was vacationing in Puducherry for a weekend and decided to try their Pizzas. The dining space itself is very small but they do have air-conditioning. One of the few kitchens that are fitted with a wood fire oven. Really loved their pizzas! My absolute favourite, for which we returned a second time, was quattro formaggi. The best so far (in India). The owner enthusiastically showed us the blue cheese they use, and other cheese they source from Auroville...superb! Pocket friendly restaurant and charming staff, that delivered promptly. Absolute must for those planning a visit to Pudu.

This little food joint serves fire wood pizza, which is excellent. It has a smoky flavour which you would never find in the big pizza shops. And it's neither too costly.
The portions are quite big. The small pizza serves 6 slices. The medium serves 8 pieces. Not sure abt the large one.
The place is however very small, seating for around 10 people.
Small modest place. Superb and delightful pizzas made by a passionate owner and his helper. I once reached late here and made my own pizza. The owner helped me out. Wonderful place.

Edit: I returned after a full year and the place is still going strong with excellent pizzas and the same unbelievable prices. I highly recommend the feta cheese variants. They're salty and delicious. You can't go wrong, you can pick anything off the menu. They've got a shiny new coat of paint and it's devoid of any spiders now.

The reviews aren't wrong, this is a place I'd go to twice a week if I lived here. They take their own sweet time with the pizzas, but the wait is worth it. The toppings are generous and there's just the right amount of cheese. The crust is baked to perfection and if you want to, you can go into their little kitchen and watch it cook. (I spotted a rather enormous spider on their walls so I moved into the kitchen and stayed there with the pizzas till the chef threw the critter out.)
The pizzas aren't too heavy on the palette, so you might want to order more than you usually do.

This place serves pizzas which are quite awesome and different.This is the first time I am eating a wood fired pizza and these taste nothing like the dominos pizzas.The pizzas here are authentic and taste delicious.The crust is thin and it may not be filling if you are very hungry but they are definitely worth a try.The place is very small so many prefer home delivery.They take about 45 mins to deliver.We ordered their mushy and paneer 65 pizza .The mushy pizza had a nice garlic flavour and paneer 65 pizza also tasted good.They are not totally inexpensive...but the pricing is okay....two medium pizzas cost around 550...Overall a nice place and definitely a must try

Size of the pizza s are very small in proportion to the price (when we relate them to their competitors). So dont get carried away by the prices on the menu , the sizes arent on par.
But wen it comes to taste , i ll give it a big thumbs up , tried the vegetariana and it was fabulous.

One of the best places in Pondy! We were there for three days and randomly walked into Auro pizza when we were walking on the road! Amazing, loved the crust, toppings, base! Superb! When I visit next time, I’m coming here again!
Great wood fired oven pizzas. We waited quite a while but the taste was excellent. Really thin crust with perfect mix of crispness and softness. Decent amount of toppings and decent quality of cheese too. Definitely a great place to chill and eat some superb pizza.
I did not get to visit Auro Pizza during my visit to Pondicherry, but did get to order from here. Their list of pizzas is quite limited - but the flavours are really good, and so was the quantity. Our delivery was on point too, hence no compliants about this restaurant! However, the wood fire pizza here is nothing compared to its competitors like Xtasi, and might leave you disappointed.
I walked into the restaurant with 2 of 3 tables filled and the smell of mozerella and wood. The waiter and his family are the owners, chef and delivers. Decent place with a window to see how the fees is made. Menu had nothing but multiple types of pizza.
It was when the order was served that I realised that the ambiance was a deceiving factor for a place like this. With almost zero in Ambiance the food was absolutely the best.

Well, here is a mostly delivery only place which has some really good potential. Located in the third lane and fairly away from hustle n bustle.
Food: the menu is only pizzas and the guy does a good job of it! Tried both chicken n veg pizzas and they were lovely indeed. The pizza sauce which is used here is something which gives a great flavor. And the quality of cheese is Noteworthy
Ambience: nothing good really. But not bad either with just 3 tables. Wish they had better cutlery and I am sure they would be able to charge a premium after it. And that's where I want to deduct points. But hey, most of their business is delivery only.
Value for money: superb indeed. 500 for two pizza is a great deal indeed. Wish they make it into a nice Cafe with great interiors. Because of the promise of potential, I am Giving them a 5. Best wishes!

Had the most amazingly made pizza at Auro's . Raju sir is an amazing host and he gave me company while I was eating food since I was alone. it felt really homely to be there with him . the pizza was one of the best I ever had and was of nominal rate too. would love to visit again ❤️

One of the better pizzas I've had until now. Definitely better than typical pizza franchises. The thin crust was the highlight as it would gave the Italian touch. We had chicken Special and chicken HS both of which were good. It was well cooked and cheesy

Expect to have a table inside a room of approx 7x4 ft. Maybe most prefer takeaway. Squeezed in between the roads.

I was looking for one of the best woodfire oven based pizzas. Believe me this is by far the best pizza I had in years.
I had Feta Veggie Special Pizza and the taste was authentic and had that woodfire taste to it. The base was a thin crust and tasted extremely good. One could feel the taste in every bite. The mozarella was kickass. Literally good quality cheeze. I am more than impressed with the pizza
The service was good. A lady and a guy hosted us and were warm. I was with my friend and she doesn't really like pizzas but after tasting Auro's pizza she was on cloud nine. She just loved it.

As it is rightly said to not judge a book by its cover...You cannot judge this place by its size and ambiance. This cosy restaurant serves some of the best pizzas in Pondicherry. And guess what...it's extremely great on your pockets!
All pizzas are baked in their signature wooden oven which adds to the flavour, also all crusts are thin. We had a couple of chicken pizzas and they were yummy. I can't say that they are the best I've ever eaten, but for a price like that, I'm not complaining!

Coming to food, we ordered Chicken 4 stage and Pork 4 stage pizza. The pizzas were properly cooked thin crust pizzas wtih ample amount of toppings and cheese. The size was also good. Too bad I couldn't click any pics as I was dying to have a slice and then I couldn't stop. They also serve jumbo pizza which I guess is more than 30 inches in size. Next time I will try that.

The hosts are very friendly and invited us to the kitchen to look at their giant pizza oven and how they make the pizza. Highly recommended place. The pizza will melt in your mouth.

Pineapple didn't seem to have any pineapples. Hawaii was written on all 3 pizzas when we ordered only 2 Hawaii and they third was something else. Chicken ham, veg italian, paneer 65, chicken hawaii, are all tasty.

The Lovely owner has the fantastic combination of toppings for your wood fired pizza. The hot cheese will simply melt in your mouth. Don't be blinded by the looks of the place ( a little shabby).
Small outlet having a great collection of veg and non veg pizzas in very reasonable price. We tried chicken salami pizza and chicken s-65 pizza. Both were of thin crust, very tasty and worth of money. But the most important thing is that they prepare the pizza in wooden oven and they will allow you to come and see the process of making. Had ordered a chicken sausage and a vegetarian pizza(Corn, spinach). Do not expect a very great atmosphere. It's a small place and we came in early to find it almost empty. The pizza was good and does come at a reasonable price too. Owner was hospitable and showed us how the pizza was being cooked.
This small little shop serves amazing pizzas. Unlike most fancy pizza places in pondi which serves pizzas where they are trying to balance proportions with toppings and spreads, this is one is loaded with lots of toppings, buttered and comes with unreasonable amounts of cheese. Absolutely sinful is what it is. You dont need to order another pizza here. One is good enough! And it's reasonably priced! I wished all the Domino's and pizza huts of India should have been like auro.

Great pizzas, we had ordered two large pizzas; one veg and one non veg, though they looked very similar, they tasted very different and pretty good. The one thing that was missing was sun dried tomato toppings. The pizzas were priced well and very filling. They don't serve any liquor, mocktails, soft drinks, etc or desserts. One of the best places to have pizza made in a firewood oven in Pondicherry. Had been to this place in 2015. Then again visited in 2023. There are changes. It has now become AC. Space wise same with a small sitting place. Pizza wise it has not changed at all. Same great tasting pizza.

We ordered a small 4 cheese pizza and a large tuna fish pizza. In the 4 cheese, the teeth was just sinking in the cheese toppings. The tuna pizza was made with fresh tuna and it is topped abundantly on the pizza. My 6 year old finished the 4 cheese pizza without making any fuss and we did the same to the other one. Visiting this place is highly recommended

This was an amazing find in terms of food. It is wood fired pizza that are available at this place.
It's a very small shop by the main road. From outside it looks like a rundown shop, and we feel disappointed. But as soon as you taste the pizza, you will know that you did a good job trying this place out.
All the pizzas there are medium size (10 inches) and thin base. Two of us had one Feta veg pizza and it was tummy filling. The toppings were just enough.
They provide takeaway too with just Rs. 30 extra for packing.
It's very small place and food is good ,tried veg spcl pizza ..love the thin crust and cheeseey pizza ...they can improve the pizza sauce flavors
Accidentally discovered this place while returning from Manakula Vinayagar Temple, stopped by to check this place out.
I do recollect seeing a vlog on this place, recommending it, so decided to order here, hoping it would be good.
Run by a couple who double up in dishing out fresh pizzas out of this super hot wood fired pizza oven.
Ordered around 8 pizzas and a couple of garlic bread portions to take back. Four families feasted on these delicious cheesy goodness.
Delicious wood fire pizza goodness, very yummy, but an overload of toppings on most options on the wide menu range. It was more like a branded pizza outlet from a toppings perspective, but definitely the wood fire made all the different.
Wouldn’t call this the most great authentic Italian pizza, but definitely a hybrid version that is good enough as a superb change to your regular branded pizza place.
Pizza was extremely tasty and vry2good portion size.but it took around 45 minutes to come after orde was placed and palce were also not clean
Pizza was good.. it's a local flavour wood fired with thin crush.. garlic bread was soft and it tasted good.
Take away and dine-in with limited seats.
Still serving mouth watering pizzas. Their feta with cheese is simply brilliant and if you are a mushroom fan , don't miss out on spicy fungi. It's a small place so do plan to be a bit patient, not the place if you want pizza in 10 mins as they r usually very crowded
Wood fired pizza in Pondicherry. Amazing pizza. Probably the best I've had till now. It takes some time to be ready however it is worth the wait. I would love to go here again and have it. Perfect for dinner
