Favourite spot for me and my buddy for ice cream in Pondy ...the best natural fruit ice cream we ever had .....would recommend to try the fresh fruit ice cream more than the chocolate flavours ......we have tried every fresh fruit ice cream in the menu ....from tender coconut to jack fruit to mango to every available flavours ...must try spot ...
AMBIENCE : 1/5
It's a small icecream parlour on the street, very less seating space. Better to order one and enjoy on the go.
FOOD : 4/5
One of the best icecreams I've had. Never really do I order another scoop of the same flavor in a visit but the Belgian walnut here had me stoned. We ordered different flavors, the natural flavored icecreams here are great. I liked the mango one. Would have tried more of these, had I been in Pondicherry longer.
SERVICE : 5/5
The service is good. They let us taste as many flavours as we want before ordering without making faces , that's great! The man on the counter, in absence of the owner, was a really humble and courteous person. He even gave me a tourist leaflet and magazine for places in and around Pondicherry. Talked to him about various things and struck a rapport. Amazing to meet such nice people on a trip to a new place.
VALUE FOR MONEY : 4/5
For the icecreams they offer, the prices are decent enough. I felt they're a bit costly and asked him why, he replied they don't actually make any substantial profits as the ingredients used are of high quality and the transportation costs are high rendering the prices to be what they are. Nonetheless, the ice creams justify the prices. Even though they might seem a bit expensive, they're worth it because the quality and taste is simply marvelous.
A must visit outlet for Ice Cream Lovers. This place reminds me of Naturals & Apsara. The advantage is they have the best of both. The staff is polite & friendly. They let you try before you order & actually insist so that you will a better experience. Light of pocket & heavy on your taste buds. Simply order anything which is in your mind this place will just make you happy.
One of the favourite parlour which i have even been in pondicherry. If you are a ice cream lover then this is the place you should never miss in your life rates are little bit more but worth for penny yar . Never forget to taste their Belgium chocolate
Best ice cream parlour in Pondy that serves natural ice cream. All the ice creams are delicious. Belgian chaclote, tender coconut, carrot halwa are must try.
Great flavours and the place. Different flavours from the Richie Rich... Owner is sweet and helpful. Clean hygienic place. Small cosy place with good music.
Gulab jam ice cream is 😋
Visited two times.

Good ambience and worth for money.

Service:- 4/5
Value for money:- 5/5
Ice Cream's are good. Compared to the only other natural ice cream brand i have tasted (i.e.Pabrai), its much more economical. But still according to my taste buds..... Pabrai fared better. Couldn't have their special "Green Chilly" flavored ice cream, which was out of stock. All in all definitely a good option in case you are at Puducherry.
Visited this place last weekend with friends and it was worth the money.
A well maintained place, with an owner who is really helpful and sweet. The taste of the ice creams is on point and you do feel that you indeed are getting a natural flavour of the same. The variety on offer was vast, and along with this quantity, the quality was maintained as well.
A good place for a reasonable grab at some soothing ice creams.
We ordered one Kesar pista ice cream and one roasted almond ice cream the first day and both the flavours were simply great.
On the second day we ordered a coffee ice cream, a dry fruit ice cream, and a roasted almond ice cream. As usual all the flavours were awesome.
Even the ice cream cones were very tasty. They provide some of the best ice creams I have ever tasted.
They offer a huge range of flavours and are also pretty cheap, around 60bucks for an ice cream including the cone. And also they give you so much ice cream in a cone that you get tired while finishing it.
Must go place for ice cream lovers.
This place has the best gulkand ice cream I've ever tasted... it is so refreshing to eat after a tired day!!!! Secondly for all you chocolate lovers... I would suggest you to try the Choco chip ice cream as this ice cream has huge chunks of chocolate which just melts in your mouth 😍😍😍
This place is an absolute bliss, the only expression that comes to my mind. This small joint is very close to the Niligiris, Mission Street, Pondicherry, if anyone takes the right from Nilgiris towards beach, u will find the small desert parlour just on the right side.
It was very close to where I used to stay. So, I never missed the opportunity to relax in this organic ice cream parlor. Now coming to the flavors, I tasted the following:
1. Belgian Chocolate with Walnut
2. Belgian Plain Chocolate
3. Sweet Pan
4. Sitaphal
5. Tender Coconut
Yes, It never failed to satisfy me. I was too scared to try out the Sweet Pan flavor, but the scoop was just awesome, quite rich and perfect as far as the taste is concerned. Compared to any other joint, I will definitely prefer to stop by here. And yes, the owner of this joint is very cordial.
This is one of the best ice cream shop in pondicherry , they sell ice cream made of real fruits , few variety
changes depending upon the fruit season . Have tried jackfruit , mango they are realy superb, green chily ice cream is out of imagination .
Thancos is just one of its kind. Basted on the natural concept. They just turn fruits into ice cream. The natural taste is just like ur having a fruit. Also tried GINGER ice cream nd green chilly ice cream. Wonderful taste never expected these flavours in ice cream. Different experience for food lovers. A must visit Pondicherry for food. ND peace.
Located in the block right next to Nilgiri's, this Ice Cream joint is an absolute treat. With flavors made from actual fruit and ingredients which are totally original(organic??) in ever way possible.
Flavors range from Fruity flavors to chocolate to other varieties which are worth a try.
Recommended Flavors -
Belgian Chocolate With Almonds/Walnuts
Choco Vanilla
Litchi
Expenditure - 60 +/- 20 per scoop and another 10 for a cone.
Verdict - If you're near MG Road, I'd strongly suggest you stop by for a scoop.
This place has an amazing variety of ice creams. Something on the line of natural ice cream in Maharashtra. The ingredients are fresh and they have a rich flavour to it. Try the unusual flavours for a start and then binge on your favorite regular ones.
I thought its the same group as we have in Kammanahalli Bangalore. But its not, its a different entity though head quartered in Bangalore. Quality wise its great. Various flavours to pick from, and you can take it in cup or cone(10rs extra). We tried pineapple, roasted cashew and choco oreo. All were good. Wanted kesar pista and mango but they were empty. Good place for ice cream lovers, must go to beat pondi heat.
This place always looks empty most of the time that's why I was at first skeptical about going inside. But when I finally went their after crossing it many times I can say they have amazing natural icecreams. Especially Tinder coconut. Giv it a try!!
I haven't tried this place yet in Pondicherry, but have been to the chennai branch. they had almost all fruit flavoured ice creams. Custard Apple, Belgian chocolate, and PAN were great. They also have writes flovours like green chilli, green tea.! It is a must try, new concept compared to the old boring Richy rich.
After Lalu kulfi shut it's door and with a huge crowd at Richie Rich,we decide to check in thancos to satisfy our ice cream desire at 10.30 pm. Folks at home weren't that interested. But I dragged them to try out as I haven't never tried Thancos.
The first thing that caught my attention was the poster of green chilli flavour. I thought of trying it out and the staff handed me a sample to taste. Woah!!! The moment u swallow it the green chilli flavour kicks in. It was mildly sweet and super hot. Almost like eating ilai vadam maavu :) Yumm it was. For those who love to try out new flavours I strongly recommend this one.
The next one that won everyone's heart was the lychee flavour. It was so good with loads of lychees in every spoonful. We also had a Alphonso Mango, Jack fruit, sitaphal, white chocolate and honey, tender coconut and paan. Every flavour was awesome except the white chocolate. I didn't like it. Other flavours were like eating the fruit itself. Particularly the jack fruit was so so real.
They have quiet a lot of flavours on display too. Next time planning to try out the ginger flavour :D
Super quick service and friendly & attentive staff. All these (around 10 scoops) cost us around 500 odd bucks. Given the taste I feel it's absolute VFM..
I was in Pondicherry a while back with my friends, and on the way back from the shore, we came across Thanco's. The range of ice-cream they serve is huge, including some of the flavours that I haven't even thought would be transformed into ice-cream. We were allowed to taste some of their samples before ordering. I personally settled for a green chilli ice-cream. Yes I know it sounds weird, but wasn't. Atleast for me. I love green chillies. So to have that flavour without the heat was something interesting. Although not a must try, but definitely worth giving it a shot.
Ice-cream that always tastes freshly made, with just the right blend sweetness and creaminess. They have many unique flavours, someof which are better than others, and which pair up well if you are a double- or triple-scooping type (like me). Try tender coconut and strawberry, or belgian double chocolate with vanilla and mocha fudge (sinful perfection!) I really wish they had sorbet... the lack of a lime or orange option on the menu makes it seem incomplete, somehow.
They do half- litre and 1 litre (approximately 0.8 pints and 1 .5 pints) boxes for takeaway, and the rates are quite modest. Rs. 50 on average for a scoop(about 2 dollars).
