The most reliable Place in the neighbourhood of Pondicherry university in terms of taste and ambience ..price is little more than the nearby places but it is worth it! The must try dishes are , Biryani, Al Fahm chicken, Barbeque Chicken , The Chicken Starters, Shawrma, Rolls, and in dessert they have all kinds and ranges of icecreams and sundaes! You can order and enjoy at home too!
Nice ambience with full of Malyali people as we know they are good in hospitality so the same you ll be experiencing there. Little costly in comparison to other restaurants near by but they deserve it.

The best eating joint in Kalapet region of Pondicherry, authentic Malabar and Arabian dishes. Purely non-vegetarian's delight but then there are enough Vegetarian options. Top off with a lovely collection of Sundaes and shakes. extremely light on the pocket too. Can get crowded but then that is why it is good.

There is one thing that I love like crazy is the barbecue chicken with butter nan... I didn't like the Chicken curry. Noodles are good too and Shawarma can be taken into consideration as well.. The ice creams are a delight.

No words to explain about tandoori and roti items really amazing. Specially about icecream and shakes which is good one to close your diet with mouth filled off sweets and cool stomach.
It's a small little place. It's a refined dhaba. The food is not particularly great. It's fresh and tasty enough. The prawn and the mutton masala have the exact same gravy! The mutton and prawn was nicely cooked but since the gravy was the same there was no flavor of either in the gravy. The tandoori chicken was good and the accompanying mint chutney, picked cabbage and mayo were nice. We also got a plate of chicken 65. Very small portions but tasty. Loved the ginger and plain lemon juices. Overall, good place for a quick cost effective meal. Nothing fancy. Not bad.
The food is okayish, i ordered a chicken biryani, and it was good in quality as well as quantity. Chinese is bad,so is Arabian, Indian food is decent.

It is located outside Pondicherry university and run by Keralites. The place serves quite good north Indian menus in the desert actually. Their grilled chicken is awesome and must try. The varieties of ice cream is also to be tasted.
This is the most popular student hangout. Its situtated close to pondicherry uni and engineering college. This is one of the closest restaurants with affordable prices for student. Their grilled chicken and roti are highly recommended. The service is quick and friendly.
Best known for the Shawarmas and the Kerala paratas. The place is at an ideal location for the university and the colleges nearby. But runs out of food. So don't go late
Best food and nice ambiance in a very small place. Prawn is ultimate over there and I like the chef who is specialist in Chinese.... good work guys keep it up.
The place doesn't seem like much and the service is quite bad... They make you wait a bit more than expected.. But the grilled or tandoori chicken is worth the wait! The chicken is totally gorgeous and it melts in your mouth... Their dessert collection is pretty impressive and mostly comprises of sundaes... You'll have about almost a 100 different combinations to try out from.
For vegetarians the food is okay!!
I tried Cream of veg soup, Paneer Kadai, Mushroom kadai, Mushroom Paneer masala, Paneer Butter masala, Butter Naan, Butter Roti (not mentioned but it's tandoori), Veg noodles, mixed veg, Shahi paneer, Dal, Plain Rice, Mixed Veg Fried Fice, mushroom chilli, paneer tikka and Gobi Manchurian from here.
Don't order Shahi paneer, mushroom chilli, and cream of veg soup from here plus don't order Shahi paneer too it's not Shahi paneer at all. Veg noodles I won't prefer to order again, not that worth. Paneer butter masala, ghee rice and mixed veg fried rice were good and the rest of the dishes were okay-ish.

The taste of Malabar biryani is awesome with properly cooked chicken and mutton. Although the roganjosh taste was different from actual dish. Others item is good in taste both veg and non-veg.

Banana leaf also famous for their ICECREAM options. The provide nearly 150 types of Icecream Dishes with modifications.

We ordered fish biriyani. The piece we got was vanjaram, which was unexpected at this price. Really good. We usually order thalassarey Dum biriyani which is super good in taste. Must try. All the banana leaf outlets in Pondicherry are good.
Generally, this restaurant is the best for ice-cream and Arabian cuisine in the area. This restaurant is quite famous in Kalapet for its taste and hygiene. And price is also very reasonable and affordable. I would give 5 stars if the ambience of the restaurant was bright and scenic rather than being gloomy always through neon light.
This is a good place to get food. Slightly on the costlier side especially with GST but worth the value. One major downside is the service on the first floor at peak time ( which they could solve if a person other than the waiter goes down to pick up the food). The menu is not only rich with food items but also has a good selection of juices and ice-creams.
Parking is a little tough if you are in a 4 wheeler.
