One can feel like being in home. The service done by young girls was tat much polite and love. One can see a huge smiling face on all serving peoples. On our 2nd day in Pondy we were looking out for a place which serves French Cuisine and hence landed up in this place for lunch. It's a pretty large & spacious place with the typical French colonial looks. The staff was courteous too. Due to late breakfast, we didn't have a great appetite that afternoon. We ordered:Puduvai Fried PrawnsChicken Stroganoff Mexican Pasta SaladAlthough all the items tasted really good, the chicken was a bit hard, however the staff got it replaced. The best part though was the ambience of the place!

Came over for lunch today and I loved absolutely everything about this place. The best highlight of my lunch was the staff, they were very welcoming and super sweet. One in particular named Rina from Bhutan was absolutely sweet and she made the experience much more worth it! I do enjoy when the staff talk to the customers, it makes us feel more comfortable and let’s us know that they are genuinely interested in what we think of the food.
Had the following:
1. Cottage cheese skewers
2. Mongolian chilly chicken
3. Grilled fish, herb rice and boiled vegetables
4. Pink sauce penne pasta with chicken strips
5. Vegetable noodles
6. Arabiatta spaghetti (veg)
The mongolian chilly chicken was my favourite as starters, I loved how all the flavours came out! The same with the grilled fish and pink sauce pasta was absolutely delicious!!! The arabiatta spaghetti was just mouth watering and definitely all of the above dishes are a BIG MUST TRY !
Can not wait to visit Pondicherry and this restaurant once again🙂

For dinner, on our first night in Pondicherry, we couldn't get a table in Coromandel Cafe and started looking for a different place. We found 1 Rue Suffren and their specials for the day - Beer Battered Fish n Chips - attracted us and we went in. We ordered the special twice! It was really that gooood! We also ordered the Prawn stuffed Chicken sausage, Chicken Salad, Chicken Stroganoff and Kung Pao Chicken. Everything was really good. The fries served with the fish were crispy af and the tartare dip was yummy.
For drinks, we mostly had beer. I had the fruit punch mocktail.
The service was quick and the servers really sweet. Our total bill was around 4200/- and it was totally worth it!

Only place that was willing to seat us on a Saturday night (apparently, it is a thing with restaurants in White Town that they stop taking in walk-ins 1-1.5 hours before closing time depending on the waiting crowd).
Impeccable service, very nice decor that goes with the theme of White Town being a French colonial-era area.
We had the Chicken Coconut Varuval and the Chicken Stroganoff -both the dishes were very delicious, especially the latter (which was one of the best preparations I had during my entire stay in Puducherry).
The place is the 1st on the street, the architecture is so soothing , one of the best places till date in pondi with an amazing and calming ambience. They have a bar and the drinks are so cute and yummy. The ambience and the amazing food made us sit here for hours.

Completely Amazed! The service took 25min to deliver however the taste of the food was just mind blowing! We hadn't expected such tasty at a French Restaurant in Pondicherry. We had ordered Chef Special Prawn Curry, Paneer Curry, Dal Makhni, Rice, Roti. A little disappointed with the size of the tandoori roti, but that's really not a matter when looking at a larger picture. A definitely visit restaurant!

I came here with my family looking for good North Indian in Pondicherry. This place has a very great hospitality like I have never seen before. We were attended by Reena and she was very polite and humble.

1) Seating arrangement can be improved on the whole (Its not that bad too!)
2) Bathrooms is little away from main dining area

I was searching for French restaurants in pondicherry and after I did a Google search I got this one which is located near the bharathi park. When we entered the restaurant staff was friendly, and smiling ,since it was already late, we were informed to placethe food order fast as their kitchen closes at 10.30pm
We had gone with the expectation of seeing French food on the menu, but were surprised to find that it was bot so and they serve Indian foods, and continental. We were not so hungry , so we went in for a tomato basil soup and bolognese pasta .the order was taken by simran .I was happy to see all the ladies staff smiling and talking to us. Shital and Rheena also spoke to us and asked whether our order was placed. The food was served fast . The tomato basil soup was good and the bolognese pasta which I tried out for first time with lamb shredded pieces was good and experienced new taste. Overall we went happy as ours was last order. But we had a hurried dinner as the restaurant was shutting g down. But whatever little time we spent we were happy becoz of the girls simran, rheena and shital who were always smiling and talking g to us. We would recommend this hotel for the service ,and ambience and also it's a quiet place to chill with family and friends. Gals keep up the smile .and win your customers heart...

Good Food and Friendly nature of workers
Went there with my family (two little kids) on a rainy evening this week and totally loved the experience. Amazing ambience in a historical french building coupled with equally great food quality and service of the staff. Venkatesh (venky) and Lekaya went out of their way to make sure we had a nice evening.
The whole vibe of this restaurant is top notch. Right from the services and friendliness of the staff, to the mouth-watering food, and the rustic, old atmosphere of the place - everything is just perfect.
1 Rue Suffren, the name is the same as the address - is one of the most highly rated restaurants in Puducherry. And I can fully vouch why. The place is lit up, you take a flight of stairs to arrive at a spacious balcony of an old French building. The balcony, in addition to a few huge rooms, all serve as dining areas. One of them is a bar. Accommodates, I think more than 200-300 people at a time, so even in Christmas we didn't need to wait.

This place is good with a huge seating area (both indoor and outdoor) and I loved their ambience and service as well. I must admit that I had the best and creamiest mashed potatoes here. However, the chicken teriyaki (written in menu) we ordered was totally like chicken satay and even then it was not so great. Tasted very bland !!! Their butter herb rice and mashed potatoes are to-die-for!!!! As we ordered mostly continental dishes, the taste was fine but the flavours were mild. But overall experience was good and enjoyable 😊

The restaurant is located on the 1st floor of one of the oldest Heritage buildings (CHAMBRE DE COMMERCE) of Pondicherry which has been shot in many movies.
Good place to have good time with friends. It might get a bit busier in the night and weekends. It might take a while to get the order prepared but its worth the wait. The waitress there was super helpful and advised dishes and mocktails as per our preference. Its close to the beach and I felt its a bit costly. The taste was good but less spicy. Liked the prawns curry. The washrooms are at awkwardly far from the place. The place is buzzing with good music and crowd. Might visit again. They dont have any thai dishes these days.
We had seen this restaurant on the way to Promenade. The exterior is stunning and inviting. On our last night in Pondicherry, we tried this restaurant/bar. We ordered two French dishes (grilled fish and a tiger prawn dish) and two cocktails. I can't say much about the authenticity of the French dishes but it was different and tasted amazing. The cocktails were great too. Service was prompt and friendly. We arrived early at 6.30 pm and managed to get a table but the restaurant is quite big. The decor is amazing with high ceilings and the typical French colony colors of warm orange. The dinner was around 2100 rs. Quantity was just enough for two of us.

Its located on the turn near garden and war memorial with ample of parking space. Its on the first floor inside a heritage building and French styled steps and interior. The restaurant is always live and has a wide bar counter. Food is very tasty with good portion size. It is a mere walking distance from the beach and the craft market is close by. Atmosphere is good and spacious with TV always on with a background music. Service is fast but 3/5 as the waiter was in confusion full time even during payments. There is no beach view in this one. Washrooms available but not clean and on ground floor.
Food was excellent and the quantity was also very good. We took enough lunch for 4pf us and bill was around 1500. Highly recommended to others. Both interial as well as exterior design, staff behavior, service were excellent.

Top notch food matched with the grand ambience and incredibly nice service. Delectable dishes and decent portion sizes, much better than relatively priced competitors i had been to in the region.

The place has a ‘French’-inspired architecture and style to it. The food is good and I do recommend trying their Rue Suffren Special Chicken Wings and their cheese and mushroom chicken steak. The waiters and waitresses were pleasant and courteous.
Went for a relaxed dine in at Rue Suffren. Tried broccoli soup, chicken crostini, poulet au fromage and brownie for dessert. Unfortunately creme brulee was not available. We chose the outdoor space which gave out peaceful vibes. The waitress was sweet enough to get us some extra herb rice. Cost came around 1200 for two. Pretty place with good food.
The food was excellent and the quantity was also very good. The panner tikka, cauliflower starter was amazing, as well as the were very very yummy. We tried the mock tails too. For the ambience,the quantity and the taste, we found the price to be worth it. The place is quiet tucked away in the corner and very peaceful.
The place is of special importance because it is able to take in people when all the cafes are all booked out, although there is a significant waiting time. The first time I visited the place, it is as a great experience!! The second not so good. Some of us were served non-veg food instead of veg food. Although the staff gave us discount, but they were very indifferent to the issue that some veg people had eaten non-veg food.
